I am writing this direct from the Flower pot cafe.. I don’t want to write this review but after 6 interventions trying to get 2 pots of tea, a tea cake and a scone correct I lost my appetite and patience. Here the list of issues 1. Having ordered our choices as above other clients were served before us after being seated after us. 2. I went to the desk and could see my tea cake sitting on the tray - on serving it was cold and the button was rock hard so could spread it and ripped the bread apart 3. It was a large tea cake but second visit for an additional butter. 4. My wife knifes for her scone was dirty from the tip to the top of the handle. 5. Having now rescued a new knife there was no sugars or sweetener provided - up again ! 6. All must be ok now ? - no there were no tea spoons provided Seriously this is extremely poor service and at £2 a pot and a bill for £9.90 I think it deserves a mention and I would like to see an acknowledgement from the owner. Whilst the garden centre is reasonably good this cafe is not due to their staff. Quite frankly they were rude, unfriendly and very unprofessional. On a more serious note the male cook in the kitchen made lewd comments and a pass at my friends daughter, and physically touched her behind! On complaining to the manager it was denied and we asked for the cctv to be checked, but we're told it wasn't recording that day. Food was poor, service was poor, cleanliness was poor and will not be recommending to anyone!

I went to pay cash for my tea and cake and was told quite firmly that they would not accept a pound coin. Why a week before they cease to be legal tender do you refuse legal tender. Went somewhere else for lunch who took my cash shame as the garden centre was very nice.

Stopped here in dire need of a loo enroute to Wales the other day and decided to try the cafe. The best steak and kidney pie I have had in a very long time and my OH said the same about his hotpot too. Hearty portions too! Lovely staff, very friendly and great little gem. We stopped again on our return journey.

Really enjoyed our visit to the Flowerpot - only had room for a cuppa, but choice of hot meals were very popular - desserts included strawberry and plum crumble - nice to combine visiting the Flowerpot with a visit to the Garden Centre.

After looking at a vast range of plants you can sit down at the cafe and have some cake and coffee. I usually stop here on a Sunday for my lunch. There is a wide choice on the menu and it is really good value.

@cock_hotel blends warm hospitality with elevated pub dining. It’s one of our favorite spots for drinks - and if you’re lucky, Friday’s sausage rolls are a treat. Their new “Dancing Bear” menu focuses on smashed patty burgers and loaded fries, adding something different. The mains truly steal the spotlight. The ribeye steak was exceptional, boasting a smoky, charred crust that brings BBQ vibes, while the inside remained juicy, tender, and perfectly pink. The triple-cooked chips were satisfyingly crunchy, and the peppercorn sauce delivered bold, rich flavor that tied it all together beautifully. Creamy mushroom linguine with the addition of sliced and seasoned chicken is generously portioned and unapologetically hearty with flavors that hit all the right notes. The Cock Hotel is a place worth returning to, with first class service from Daisy & team and plenty more delicious dishes waiting to be explored. Sunday lunches are top notch too!

No steak, no peas no prawns no service people who just do not care how can you run a restaurant with no food two people in the restaurant eating pies we were sent to the bar to order the drinks and nobody was serving. We waited for five and told our table was ready went back through the tables look the same as when we walked in joke disgraceful will never return

I visited for a bite to eat with friends. When we arrived the pub wasn’t too busy but first impressions were that a bomb had struck it! Tables were stacked with plates and glasses (some still there when we left a couple of hours later! ) There seems to be no organisation. On a positive note the young barmaid Grace is a credit to your company. She remained behind the bar diligently serving the customers in order (the sign of a good barmaid) but the other member of staff was more bothered about filling up the shelves with glasses (there was no shortage) than serving the queue at the bar . She proceeded to walk up and down the bar avoiding eye contact with the customers. I know shelves need restocking but common sense dictates that you do this after serving the customers. Not the first impression you want to give . This proved to irritate some people who ended up walking out. The Woolpack is okay but simple tweaks could make it so much better. Staff Training for some staff on how to work on a customer focused establishment wouldn’t go amiss. I am sure they meet there monetary targets as it runs successful quiz nights etc….but head office should look at the big picture …..could make even more if it was correctly organised. Food was what we expected no complaints.

The fallowfield never fails to impress. The food is always lovely and never staff always go beyond to make you feel welcome as a lone diner that is so important
