Well, after being recommended this space and the good reviews I was loo mi my forward to having a pastry every morning in my air bnb . I can honestly say they are the worst pastries I have ever tasted. We chose 3 different ones and all were as tough as the next . Overcooked and so chewy I had too give up. Very disappointing ! I did t try the coffee so can’t comment on that and the sandwiches looked nice so I’ll give one star for that l. Just don’t risk your teeth and jaw on those pastries !

lovely little cafe, have the best gluten free & vegan bread I’ve ever tried! nothing compared to what you can get in supermarkets, also a similar price for the size of the loaf. Definitely recommend. They also have super tasty coffee, especially those made by the lovely Ella. She made my experience incredible and will definitely return thanks to her great customer service.

An amazing coffee shop that serves even better coffee. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and up for a chat. They are very welcoming of dogs too, making it a great stop for dog owners and lovers alike.

Staff are -all- lovely ;). Very efficient. Often queues during peak times but they work well to get through them quickly. Consistently good coffee and a nice rotating stock of sandwiches and baked goods.

The pastries are always so overcooked and chewy and over priced. Today I ordered an 'apricot danish'. I tasted nothing like a danish and was more like a bit of tough old leather with icing and apricot jam on it. There used to be friendly staff here too, but now the people working here are really moody and non welcoming. The coffee is still OK.

Coffee is average. Food is OK, but the staff attitude really sucks. I appreciate that customer service in the UK progresses to go down hill, but in order to support local businesses like Flour Pot, they need to up their game. Talking to customers as if they are an inconvenience to the staff just isn't acceptable. I'll take my business elsewhere.

I have to say flower pot bakery have really gone above and beyond for their customers... Today we had a delivery of some bread and pastries they’re are all fresh and packaged safely so there could be no contamination. I take my hat off to the delivery driver putting himself out so we who can’t leave at least have food I will certainly be letting everyone I can know how amazing their service is and it should be recognised by more people! Thankyou so much

Grabbed a loaf of bread on the way back from a run, and ate some for breakfast. It's fantastic! Moist, weighty (in the way that real bread is springy and nutritious - it has risen evenly), tasty, everything nice. Also a croissant - again, ttey really know their baking. It looks good as a café too, although I haven't tried it. Very convenient, very authentic, very nutritious

Coffee was fine, cake was dry and tasteless and customer service could really improve. Staff looked barely awake. Does not do the chain justice.

Popped in for a quick coffee - very cosy spot with super friendly staff and fab coffee. As I was in a rush, and asked for the coffee to be made at drinking temperature - which is apparently 77 degrees! - in a ceramic cup rather than a takeaway cup... perfect drinking temperate and very tasty flat white.

Excellent coffee and always good for a slice of cake or other various treats. Not a lot of room inside but it’s lovely to sit at the tables outside and watch the world go by. friendly staff

A very small café with just a handful of seats, but with a good atmosphere, attentive staff and good coffee & food. A lot of vegan and vegetarian options available.

I have been visiting this little version of The Flour Pot recently as working nearby and it is so great to be able to pick up my favourite coffee and bread to take home. I've been sitting on the terrace too, which is amazing in this weather. So please this shop is here.

I am a massive fan of the Flour Pot Bakery chain, but this branch is trying to fit a quart into a pint pot! Coffee is great, decent and familiar food selection, but very cramped, best to have a takeaway.

The staff are wonderful and so is the food and coffee. As others have said the price point is a little high, but the quality of ingredients is amazing. I will certainly be coming back for a visit.

The Flour Pot now have stores across the city. This one offers similar range to other stores just with a little less seating space than other stores. The food and coffee are great quality but in my opinion, they are at the very top end of what is reasonable price wise. Worth a visit for a treat!

We popped into The Flour Pot Bakery for a coffee and some breakfast. What a lovely place. We wedged ourselves in a corner and gauged on sausage rolls, Croque Monsieur and almond croissants. What a lovely Sunday Morning breakfast treat.

Nice, artisanal bakery and cafe. The food was good but you didn't get much for your dollar! Friendly and efficient service right in the middle of The Lanes so you can sit outside and enjoy the buskers and life of Brighton as it passes by on the street. My iced tea was particularly delicious but the black cherry brioche bun was a bit disappointing if I'm honest ( looked great but was a tad bland).

Walking through Kemptown we stumbled across this place. Is very small but has a much needed and appreciated outside area. The barman was lovely & sitting there watching the world walk by in the sun enjoying cold alcoholic beverages was gorgeous.

Went into Small Batch, Hove Station at 4.20 pm yesterday. I ordered a coffee as a dine-in customer. Was told that I would have to use a take away cup as they would be closing soon. I left but not before telling the cashier that I would have drunk my coffee within 10 minutes. Small Batch website indicates that they close at 5.00 pm. BTW there were no other customers. Anyway, I went down the road and gave another coffee shop my business.

Unfortunately, even though there were many things right I'll be avoiding this place. The service was impeccable, good beer, perfect lighting and lovely music. So what was wrong? A coven of aggressive women believing they ran the place because they'd booked a table. At their request the music, that I'd been enjoying, was turned off so they could conduct their meeting whilst sipping peppermint tea. I'd suggest a pub isn't an ideal place for this sort of thing. Especially if you're hell-bent on spoiling the atmosphere for everyone else. Sadly, they're regulars.

Popped in for a late morning coffee and bite to eat. Good selection of wholesome cakes and sandwiches available. Went for the cheese, chicken and chorizo toasted sandwich and it was divine! Service was super friendly. But allow yourself time enjoy the experience, because it was busy and not fast. We will definitely return :-)
