Metropole Bar & Lounge in Brighton and Hove

The bar was very quiet on a Saturday evening and football was showing. The drinks were pretty basic but reasonably priced. It’s a shame as it’s a nice bar but I won’t return.

I went here for my surprise birthday brunch in August and it was fab. The staff went above and beyond to help the organisers of my party after a slight issue with booking systems, which was very quickly resolved by the staff. They couldn't bring us enough prosecco and were quick to keep us topped up, they even gave me flowers and a card! They also sang to me and in general just made the experience really special and I felt so happy. We sat on the terrace which was lovely as there were quite a few of us, and we could see the sea! Would definitely rebook here for a special celebration or brunch.

Fantastic experience, good quality food and great staff. Elfin was a fantastic waitress and couldn’t do enough for us. She was knowledgeable of the menu and was super friendly - Our drinks were topped up frequently and the service was speedy. Bottomless brunch was great and I’d come again - Thank you! My partner and I go out for lunch / dinner a few times a week and notice that staff can be quite quiet and miserable, all the staff here are so lovely and friendly. Feedback if I was being REALLY fussy 😜 would be the brownie coming with some cream or ice cream so it wasn’t as dry (great flavour though) and the calories on the menu were all wrong. Thanks team!

Large bar at Brighton Metropole Hotel. Big windows overlooking seafront and an outside terrace. Staff are friendly and efficient. Bit pricey but good selection of drinks.

Jorge was amazing in helping me locate my laptop after I mistakenly left it behind one evening, he held it behind the bar for me. I always get first class customer service I from him, he is an asset to The Metropole

Located ourselves here for the parade during parade, as we were staying in the hotel. Fantastic drinks, fast service, with great bar staff.

Sadly had a terrible experience here. The dj session I'd booked for fiancé's birthday had been cancelled because of the weather but I hadn't been informed. The waitress wasn't sympathetic and I had to ask for a complimentary drink for us which she reluctantly gave us. The Euros were playing on huge screens which made it a lot worse. I've emailed them re the above but not had a reply which says it all really.

Toma made our day! Absolutely fantastic experience for the bottomless brunch. The food was tasty and good value for money/ worth the extra £2.50 for desert. Toma and Daniel provided amazing service and gave us a great afternoon for a birthday treat. We will be back!

A great place for a cocktail or two!

They served tea in brown coffee cups vome on tea should be served in china and the table was uneven so wobbled food was great just need to up there game to get 5 stars

Overpriced and very underwhelming. Came for a bottomless brunch recently and it was very poor. There was a beer option and a prosecco option, both with food. The beer option was Stella Artois ONLY, which they kept very quiet until we ordered the drinks, which was especially disappointing when they had multiple beers on offer at the bar and most of the time the beer was flat and in non branded glasses. The prosecco tasted absolutely dreadful. The food was lovely, could not fault it. However, they also added a mandatory service charge for very mediocre service, making the price even more expensive. Felt like quite a rip off if I'm honest. Ordering another drink after the bottomless brunch had finished was unbelievably expensive. Double gin and lemonade, just under £19!!!! It was also served in a non branded, water glass with a tiny bottle of lemonade, which made it too strong and actually quite a small drink. Absolutely astounding that they are charging this kind of price and giving a below average product. Wouldn't come here again unfortunately.

12.5% service charge is a bit cheeky!

Afternoon tea/ bottomless brunch for a hen do, great location shame about the food, very disjointed service we waited over an hour which came at different times, lack of communication between staff and kitchen regarding the order which had already been pre ordered (pointless) as we were all asked again for our preferences. The afternoon tea wasn't good and the scones under cooked which couldn't be replaced. The bill was wrong and the lady member of staff wasn't very helpful or polite. I wouldn't recommend very substandard for the price.

I stay at this place ‘a lot’! .. The waiting staff are great, attentive and polite, conversational. there are a couple of the bar staff who just make my face crease into a big smile! The amazing cocktail shaker guy.. fast talking and so committed. Then the Australian ( I think), such a lovely caring, LOUD but hilarious waiter. It’s a hotel bar but the people are entertaining and customer focussed. Love em

Stopped by for Afternoon Tea using a voucher received as a gift. We were able to add our son for a children's tea as well, all easily accommodated via email. Friendly correspondence. Children's tea was very cute, but would have preferred a little less sugar. Adult tea was fine. The sandwiches weren't as refined as they could have been, but tasted fine. The scones were the star of the show served fresh and warm. Absolute perfection. Desserts were ok, but all extremely sweet save for the eclair which was very disappointing. Atmosphere is nice, service is friendly, quick and efficient. Was it worth it? Yes, because it was a gift and we only paid for the kids tea. If I'd paid myself, I would be a lot more disappointed for that price.

Really enjoyed having pre and post meal drinks in the bar. Prices not too outrageous for a hotel . Good atmosphere and great bar staff , chatty and very entertaining.

The food at the metropolitan at one of the events , of which I've been to alot, has also been just standard. But at the boxing event I went to tgis Saturday, they surpassed themselves. It was excellent 5 star. This was not the bar, its was the events room. Your usual chicken on mass had been changed for an amazing beef dish... really impressed. The price was for the boxing night and food.

I've usually had no trouble at this hotel and overall it's good. But this one incident has put me off ever going there again but it's such a cheeky and horrible practise and can also lead to very harmful consequences I asked for a gin+tonic at the bar. I went to pay and as I tapped noticed it was £17 I asked if that was correct, the server nodded and asked if I want to see the receipt. I said of course and upon reading the receipt I noticed 1) service charge...for pouring a drink and 2) That it was classes as a double I told them I did not ask for a double and they replied "unless you specify we default to a double". I have never in my life heard of such a thing. It's dishonest, repulsive and not safe if you were expecting a single and didn't know bar seeing the receipt. It's a poor and shady policy and I'd advise anyone using the bar to be careful what they order and are charged for.

Went to Metropole bar for a drink and really enjoyed the vibe of the place. The staff were amazing and caring towards the clients. Having views of the sea is the cherry on top.

Casual and relaxed atmosphere, modern but sympathetic decor for a Victorian building. I enjoyed a glass of wine and a chicken curry. The rice was light and cooked perfect. The chicken so tender and the flavours perfect!

I had my dinner here as I am staying in the Hilton. The waiter who served me was very friendly and helpful. The servers are really kind and helpful and made it a pleasant experience to go here. The menu is small, so there aren't a lot of options. But since it's part of the Hilton hotel we went here quite a few times. Atmosphere The seating arrangements are quite nice and so is the lighting. It's not too bright. However when it gets full it gets really loud, as if the room sorta echoes. They also tend to turn the music up at certain moments which for me ruined the nice and chill atmosphere. On nights where they didn't do this (and it was maybe half full) it had a nice ambience. Food: The chicken curry on the menu is really good. The pizza is also nice, but go for a plain margarita one. You pay extra for toppings and they put a minimum amount on your pizza (think 5 slices of small mushrooms). Fish and chips is decent, the fish was nice but their chips are a bit soft, they don't have a nice crunch to it. Drinks: For drinks this is a nice place, they've got a good selection of cocktails, beer and soft drinks.

Such an incredible afternoon at the Metropole’s monthly Drag Brunch! Delicious food, free flowing Prosecco and a BRILLIANT show! Can’t recommend highly enough! If you’re after a warm welcome and a lot of laughter, look no further!

Very slow to take you to a table, even though you had to book. Slow service. Some restrictions on bar and health centre due to Covid. We came back to the hotel at 10:30 Tuesday night, planning to have a last drink in the bar. There was a bar full sign out and the door was locked. It had been busy earlier.
