The Florist in Liverpool

The lad who served us was very nice but food was very average, service, i.e we had to wait an hour between starters and mains, we were a large party but had all pre ordered, they said they hadn't had our email, then they found it. The starter's and mains all came out in dribs and drabs, one of our party got her dessert before her main?? I had sticky toffee for pudding, very dry. They did reduce our meal price, quite rightly, and gave us a free drink. Will not go again though. Lovely inside but terrible service.

This is the epitome of instagram vs. reality. Sure, it's pretty, and there were loads of people taking photos of the decor. In reality, I found it quite grubby, with dirty stairs, that looked like someone had swept the dirt into the corners. The toilets were grim and out of paper, and the taps felt like they needed a drop of WD40. The staff seemed busy and stressed, which was reflected in the poor service. You had to scan a QR code for a gluten-free 5, which is fine, but the starters weren't on, and it took two staff to finally bring out a cardboard menu. It took forever for the starters to arrive, I had the Korean fried chicken. This was lukewarm and tasteless. Whilst we were waiting forever for the mains, we ordered another bottle of wine that was dumped on the table by a staff member who walked off without opening it. Thankfully, another one noticed and went to get a corkscrew. Eventually, the mains arrived, I had a Thai Prawn hanging kebab. It was bland, and the prawns were barely warm with rice that was hot in some places and cold in others. I left most of it, though it did look nice. Overall, if you don't care about food and service and want to take some nice photos, this is the place. If you want decent food, go anywhere else.

Service was unfortunately really bad. We were sat at 7:10pm and didn't leave until 21:30. We were sat in a far corner of the room and watched on as everyone else got attentive service whilst we got the cold shoulder. Anytime we asked for things like drinks or even the bill it would take another 20-30 minutes before anyone would come back again. We were never asked if the food was okay and we just weren't asked in general if anything was okay. I would be more understanding as it was a Saturday night but the match was on the place was not as busy as it usually is. This is personally my 4th time coming but won't be coming again after this experience it just felt like our custom didn't matter one bit and at the prices they charge you would expect exceptional service and food.

We were there last Saturday night for a Hen Party. What a stunning restaurant! Loved the decor ! Food and drinks are excellent. The calamari was the best I’ve ever had and nicely served in a shell. Service was a bit slow, so if you have any plans for after dinner , maybe give yourself a bit extra time . Would definitely visit again.

Check reviews before you book for a celebration. You will be extremely disappointed. Service is terrible in every way. If you book bottomless brunch don't expect anymore than 2 drinks max and in any case you have maximum of 6 drinks in the package, that give you only 1.5 hrs. They purposely use delay tactics not to serve you and when you ask them for service they will make an excuse not to serve you, even through the staff sit around and talk between themselves. Another well known venue with two addresses give you 2 hours and got out of their way to look after you and make your time special.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant food amazing and the drinks are fantastic, the décor is breathtaking... staff friendly, great for taking pictures in the lovely surrounding.

Had a lovely time for a large group booking. Child friendly, staff were very nice and welcoming. Only one waitress served our table majority of the time, Charlene, she did an amazing job.Thank you so much!

We came for our dinner just before our show we had booked in town. As nice as the place looks the service was slow! Got in at 4.50 and didn’t receive starters till 5.45. Granted they had a few big parties in, but, don’t take bookings if you’re too busy or inform people they will have to wait. We had to cancel our mains as we would have been too late to our show. The starters we had were actually really nice, shame the service let it down.

Worst experience we’ve ever had at a restaurant. Arrived for a booking at 11am,got seated, and given the menu’s only to have them taken off us and replaced with another menu, after making our choice, menus taken off us again, only to be replaced by ANOTHER MENU!! After making our choice for the third time, and being the only ones dining in the entire building, the wait for food was awful, waitress was not helpful or polite, no “is everything ok with your food” can I get you anything else. In fact other diners in the group though our waitress quite rude! I know we were only there for food early on in the day, and there weren’t lots of us, but that taken into account, I feel that in an empty restaurant, the service and food should have been better

I popped up for a glass of draft beer. The decorations of this place is very nice. There are some outdoor areas with the seats.

I took a long time looking for a special cocktail place for a special celebration for my daughter and 2 friends and settled on the Florist because it looked so beautiful and had an excellent range of cocktails. On arrival, I was ‘greeted’ by a young female whose face said “I don’t want to be here. I said I’d booked a table and the ‘host’ said “sit where you like, you didn’t have to book”. The 3 empty tables were either dirty or had empty glasses on them. I asked the girl very politely if she could clean and clear the table. Her face said what her mouth didn’t. Now, there’s no table service for drinks. I ordered at the bar, it was 18.00hrs on a Friday night, hen parties in, there were only 2 bar staff, they were working under pressure. E had quite a wait for our drinks. Not a good experience and as lovely as the surroundings are I would not go back.

Amazing amazing amazing! Food was delicious, wonderful and friendly staff, service was great. This is my new favourite brunch place. Tried eggs royale which was better than expected. Coffee was warm and served with lotus biscuit.

I visited on Friday night with my mum. We sat at a lovely table with a nice view of outside and most of the restaurant. It was a lovely atmosphere - not very busy but a good few tables to create a fun vibe. The decor is STUNNING. Never seen a restaurant like it. Mum ordered the salmon kebab and I had vegan lamb kofta. We also shared a cauliflower starter. The portion sizes were perfect - not too big but just enough. We also shared 2 bottles of wine. The bill was reasonable - decent for what we had and the wine costing the most, but hey, it's a treat. Our waiter was charming, as were the rest of the staff. All in all we both had a lovely evening and will be returning.

Myself and 16 friends attended here last Saturday for some food as part of my friends Hen Celebrations. The food was lovely, drinks brilliant, the service was overall good and most people were really accommodating however one member of staff was so rude (ginger hair) that every single one of us at the table noticed this at different times throughout the visit. She was rude and snappy in her tone as well as aggressive in putting drinks and plates on the table. She sighed at additional requests such as sauce, and just generally looked like she didn’t want to be there. She was one of our waitresses for the afternoon so it directly impacted our experience.

We all enjoyed our meals. They have a good range of food to choose from, and the cocktails were top-notch. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. They have a private room available for small booking too.

Lovely place, good service, nice atmosphere not too loud but nice ambience. Did a cocktail making course and had a really enjoyable time, great fun as a group of 5 ladies, took their time with us making the drinks, never felt rushed. They showed us extra recipes and gave recommendations for going out afterwards too! Thank you!

The experience me and my hen party of 15 shared at the florist on Saturday was absolutely second to none. Our server went above and beyond to insure everyone was cared for. The food and cocktails were exceptional. Had the most amazing time thank you!

Would have given 0 stars if I could. Firstly I want to say that we couldn't fault our waitress, she was friendly and helpful but when it came to the food that's when things went downhill. 2 of our party had the piri piri chicken skewers which was chicken thigh meat and not palatable at all, the salad with it was 2 leaves and a couple of slices of onion. The rest of the party opted for the small plates and all I can say is that the food was at best mediocre. We couldn't hear each other talk due to the noise of hen parties .Would definitely not return here.

We had been excited to try The Florist for our friend's hen party, and all looking forward to it. On arrival, we were greeted by a friendly young man and directed to the bar for drinks while waiting for the rest of our party. The decor was stunning and the atmosphere was good downstairs with a DJ in the bar area. We were booked in for 6 pm and were still waiting to be seated at 6.20 pm and had to ask if our table was ready. After having pre-ordered our food we didn’t expect to still be waiting for the starters to come out at 7.45 pm We were so hungry a few of us ordered from the bar menu which arrived within 15 minutes. The Korean chicken was lovely. When the starters finally came out they were good but unfortunately that’s where that ended. Mains were chicken, fish or burgers which were cold and the meat was very dry. The Ceaser salad was very overdone chewy chicken. Sides arrived for 2 of us at least 5 minutes before the mains. The chips were really good and the only hot thing. Not one member of staff came and asked if everything was okay with the food. Had they done, this may have been resolved so unfortunately we all left at least half of our mains. Our desserts were served to us at 8.45 pm and were okay. But such a long wait. After discussing our disappointment with Jo (the manager) she was very apologetic and helpful in discounting our food bill. All in all the place was beautifully decorated, and a couple of members of staff were lovely when ordering drinks but unfortunately, the rest of the staff seemed uninterested in providing a good customer service. We will return and give it another try and hopefully, these areas of disappointment will be better and it was just a one off.

I’ve visited the florist before (food and drink) and it was exceptional so I decided to come back for drinks after my graduation and I was very disappointed. Considering the place was empty the service was very slow and the staff members were dismissive and rude. Personally would not be returning and we left after 1 drink.

Very disappointed. Booked for post Graduation dinner. Place was empty. No atmosphere. Food poor and overpriced for what it was. Staff were pleasant. Cannot recommend 😞

Possibly the worst steak I’ve ever had. Ended up not paying for it. Waitresses were very pleasant and apologetic, but it’s not their fault. I think the meat is just extremely cheap.

We went for bloom and beat bottomless brunch as a hen party event , beautiful place and great atmosphere. Overall we had good fun . Flower fairies with bubbles were an added enjoyment. Music bingo good fun . Staff were friendly and trying to please but unfortunately we were kept waiting 20 mins for our table . It was 40 mins before we got our first drink . We kept asking for top ups to avoid more waiting. We had to leave on time as had another event booked so didn’t feel we were able to get the full experience. The manager listened and did make a discount . But it was a shame it wasn’t better organised .

Not as much selection on menu and cocktails appear to have gone up. Also served in tall glass with more ice than drink. Disappointed. Lots of echo so quite nosy, but there where baby shower and hen meal going on.

Had high hopes for the florist as had heard good things. Loved the balcony for a few drinks but when it came to the meal we was very disappointed. I had a burger which only came with chips on a big plate, should be a salad with this as standard for the price.

I booked the cocktail making class here for my sister's hen do, and while the venue looks nice, the service was really poor. The venue rang me on the day to tell me they were running late and asked if could we come half an hour later to our booking. I was a bit concerned about this because we had other activities planned which we would then be late for afterwards, but agreed we would come slightly later than our booking time to assist the venue. When we arrived for our booking, we were showed to our room and the barman made a comment that we were late for our booking and we would be rushing if we wanted to finish on time. This was obviously frustrating because we arrived later because we were asked to, and then had to rush the class. The barman then proceeded to tell us he would usually be more upbeat and energetic when delivering the cocktail class but he had already delivered a few classes today so wasn't really feeling it. We were also a group of 12 and he made a comment that usually the groups are only of around 8 people - another reason to rush us through the class. He was clearly fed up and didn't want to be there and made that obvious with his attitude. It wasn't exactly cheap (our booking came to about £480) and I would expect much better service for the price tag. We paid just as much for our class as the bookings did before us that day, there's no excuse to give us a poorer service. The only saving grace is that the cocktails did taste nice, but we were just so rushed in making them and getting off to our next activity that we didn't have a chance to really enjoy them. Overall very disappointing.

We done cocktail making for our Friends Hen do. We had the best time so much fun, couldn't stop laughing. Sonny who took the cocktail class was the best so funny, he made our day. Couldn't recommend this enough!

I booked for a party of 35 during a conference. Most were out of town. The team were really supportive in the booking and organisation of the evening. Great service throughout. Korean chicken starter superb. House wine good quality. Happy visitors and grateful organiser. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Far too loud music,couldn't hear ourselves talk at dinner,table booked at 6pm eventually dj moved area. When we arrived lots of younger children were running around,climbing over the railings by the phone box Food portions extremely small, like a starter size for a main course Very slow service, not attentive at all,poor staff rushed off feet,not enough staff

We waited over an hour for our food with no explanation or apology, when we asked how long it would be. When our food did arrive it was very tasty. Lovely building and a nice atmoshphere. Just the wait for food was disappointing. We didn't have time for dessert as we had reservations elsewhere and were late for them!

Went in for breakfast and got average food and coffee from a machine. Probably a really good bar but not for breakfast. Not even the bouquets could make this place ok.

Lovely Birthday lunch with my wife at The Florist this week. Super interesting food, friendly service and charming decor. Highly recommended.

Arrived here for dinner with my family for my 50th birthday. We waited a long time for someone to take our order. The restaurant was empty with only us in it. After taking the order we waited for a really long time for our food to be served. The food was luke warm to cold. I ordered 3 small plates, the food was bland and tasteless. The server asked if everything was ok, we had told her no as all the food, not just one meal for all 6 meals the food was cold when served. The server apologies and explained she had to walk down a flight of stairs and that was the reason the food was served cold. We could not send 6 meals back for them to redo them, as we had already waited such a long time to be served. Upon paying the bill we again mentioned how disappointed we were but the server again apologised and just took payment. I became so frustrated at this point, not only was my birthday meal ruined the lack of acknowledgment to why we were so disappointed fuelled my annoyance. I asked to speak to the manger myself, the server who had waited on our table all night and served drinks advised she was the manger. I explained how disappointed we were with the service. The food was bland and served cold, the atmosphere was appalling, the place was so cold my parents had to sit with their coats, adding 10% discretionary payment to the bill with absolutely no notice. This is printed in the smallest print on the bar menu only. Again the manger was apologetic and explained she had done her best she was on her own in the restaurant. I appreciate this entire disaster of a birthday meal was not caused by anything she had done. Paying £190.00 for a meal which was disgusting and not one person in my party enjoyed just didn’t seem fair. We had mentioned 3 times about the food being cold. I would never recommend this place to eat or for a special occasion. Aesthetically it looks nice, the place is cold, the food served is cold, food served is bland, over priced cocktails at £11.00 each..limited menu, 10% discretion service charge added automatically to bill, zero atmosphere, overpriced menu. I appreciate the manager may have tried her best by offering apologies, and she appeared visibly upset with our feedback. Unfortunately who else were we to aim our dissatisfaction towards, as clearly you do not have enough staff, having one staff member running up and down flights of stairs to serve customers. We left without ordering any further, we took one picture in the place and left as I was so upset my birthday meal was ruined. Do not be fooled by the instagram pics of this place. It’s poorly managed and needs a new chef and completely lacks atmosphere and engagement with customers. Just a side note. From all other disappointing reviews the responses are generic we will take on board feedback to improve service. Clearly you are not listening to feedback left from disappointed customers.

Over an hour for food wasn’t the best When it did come and had to wait for the condiments to accompany them didn’t get told there was a wait for food even though we booked few days before I had to be the one to ask why the wait for our food no apology until I complained made us late for what we had planned that day. Also too many big parties not good when alls i wanted was to have a girly chat with my daughter it was that loud there was no chance of normal conversation these should be kept in one area and smaller groups in another so everyone gets to know enjoy their time very very disappointed and then to see they still applied the service charge absolute joke

Went for a roast dinner with my mum here today, I have not been here in 5 years or so and I was blown away! The decor and building is beautiful, and the food was delicious. The roasties were spot on, and the cranberry stuffing balls were very good. We shared the cheesecake for dessert and it was one of the best cheesecakes I have ever tried, we could have eaten 10 more slices of it! The waitresses were very friendly and provided a good service too. Highly recommend for a solid roast dinner in Liverpool.

Pleasant place to eat - in a beautiful old building. We popped in on the off chance as the place we had gone to had stopped serving food. We got a lovely table and were looked after well by our server. Food was nice too.

I took my sister here for lunch. Firstly, the restaurant is BEAUTIFUL and unique. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I will definitely be coming here again!

Was very disappointed, booked here for my sisters birthday , service was very slow no staff around , no atmosphere at all , booked for a Sunday was not made aware that there was only a limited menu to only a handful of food options we was going to up and walk out due to this but then was told the chef could make a steak as one of guests didn’t like anything else of the limited menu so decided to just give it a try , food portions was ridiculous for the price and nothing special , £80 for three small meals and a glass of wine and 2 soft drinks ! Wish I went to weatherspoons as the food is nicer

Very pretty restaurant with blossom trees, flower filled telephone box and chic lights. Friendly staff greeted, seated and served us. I had a delicious alcohol-free cocktail to start, followed by the fish & chips - really crispy batter, good fish, tasty chips and minted peas. Dessert was the fruit kebab with chocolate sauce - yummy. My friend had the plan-based burger which she said was tasty. Will certainly go back to The Florist, Watford.

Awful service, no one to show you your seat, flagging staff down to take your order, asking twice for tap water, coffees coming out after the food which we had to chase and flagging the staff yet again for the bill. First and possibly last visit if convinced otherwise. A lot of waiting around

Went for a mid week meal to celebrate my son graduating. Unfortunately, the whole experience wasn't quite what we expected it to be. The food was very average. Four out of five of us had the chicken satay & all agreed that the rice was bland & the satay sauce was runny & flavourless. The fifth person had fish & chips & said it was over cooked & dry. A couple of the group had the brownie & fruit kebab for dessert & all said they were really good. My sons chocolate mousse was served to him but unfortunately wasn't set properly & was very runny. The kitchen apologised & replaced it free of charge with another delicious brownie. Cocktails were very nice.

Perfect breakfast before the Aintree Races. Cecilia noticed I forgot to order my meal without hollandaise sauce and I was trying to wipe it off, because being in the industry and knowing what it’s like, I’d never want to send it back, but Cecilia insisted and it was so kind so I could enjoy the meal. I asked the chefs name, Bob, thank you mate, and I’m sorry😅👍🏻❤️

Best roast dinner in the city! In such beautiful surroundings too. My only gripe is that there was zero toilet paper in the ladies in any cubicle and no staff around to replace it. Other than that I will be back again and again. Lots of non alcoholic choices, the Watermelon Cooler is THE best non alcoholic cocktail I’ve ever tasted

Went for my daughter's 25th birthday and the staff made her dessert special and sang happy birthday, which was lovely. Food very tasty but quite a limited menu hence 4 stars. Amazing atmosphere and decoration, not a place to go for a romantic meal I suspect, but great for a celebration. Would recommend

We visited for brunch. Lovely venue. Prices not extortionate but more expensive than other than other places near by. Staff were pleasant. We ordered our drinks and food together. The drinks arrive around 25 minutes later and the food 45 minutes after ordering. It was a long wait considering there were only 3 other tables occupied. Overall a nice experience but I wouldn’t rush back.

Super disappointed after our visit. We visited for Sunday Brunch on Easter Sunday. The service was really slow to get us seated and order. Unfortunately the food was just not up to scratch. The full breakfast wasn't what I'd call full (no black pudding, no vine tomatoes, one mushroom, 2 pieces of streaky floppy bacon). The whole thing was cold and I didn't have the time to have it corrected. On the plus side it's a very pretty building.

Has a brilliant time celebrating my birthday with the Florist Masterclass. Took a big group of friends and we all really enjoyed our time learning 3 classic cocktails with Sonny who made it a really fun experience! Plus great value for money… Thank you Sonny!

Great service. Had burrata to start and then salmon with coconut rice and ginger sauce. Delicious.

We did the Cocktail Master Class and Lloyd and he was an absolute Gent. Really made us feel welcome and a fantastic teacher. Would heavily recommend if your in Liverpool

Beautiful surroundings and pleasant staff. Negatives were that we were seated by a draughty window and had to send the fatty steak back (but the waitress was very understanding and knocked it from the bill). Starter flatbread comes with delicious hummus that is not mentioned on the menu. Burgers nice. Come here for the ambiance and instagrammable features rather than the food.

Amazing bartender, Lloyd, gave us a class experience for our Cocktail Masterclass. We learnt so much and he was so brilliant, even gave us lots of recommendations for where to go afterwards! Venue is absolutely stunning as well ☺️

What an amazing time! It was a wonderful brunch experience (amazing club sandwiches) but what really made it was the service. Paul and Kayleigh were so welcoming and helpful and made our time so special. Would definitely recommend!!

What a fabulous oasis of calm this was on a rather mad st Patrick’s day when Liverpool was rammed. Refined and elegant surroundings with a great bar area and a lovely dining room upstairs. Food was delicious we had burger and chicken Caesar salad followed by brownies. Unhurried and felt we were served well. Definitely recommend.

It was definitely a fantastic spot for a laid-back afternoon outing. The building itself is stunning, and the interior is super stylish, especially with those cool indoor trees adding to the vibe. From my experience, weekdays in the afternoon are pretty chill here. The staff are really helpful, and the food? Oh, it's top-notch.

We went on a Sunday. Service was a bit slow for me towards the end - always when trying to pay. Otherwise, it was very good. Always polite. Place was clean. Gorgeously decorated.

Booked for 2pm on Mother's Day, upon arrival said were running behind schedule about 30 minutes. Waited over an hour for our food, which was good.

Paul was the most incredible waiter at the Florist. We had a great laugh together and he gave us the best food/drinks recommendations. He was incredibly attentive and really enhanced our experience. I would come back again just to have a fun time with Paul! We love Paul!! He made the Florist an amazing spot to visit for brunch.

The desserts are delicious and the cocktails are very well presented and taste good! The options for mains are very less. The interior is picture perfect!

We had an amazing time at the cocktail making class with Lloyd. I can’t drink because I’m breastfeeding and he was so accommodating towards this and made sure I had alcohol free versions of what my friends were making.

Came for hen-do Lloyd was so patient and amazing! 100% recommend the cocktail masterclass and especially Lloyd Thank you so much Lloyd. We all really enjoyed it! 🥰

We went on Mother's Day which was of course very busy so we had booked 2 weeks in advance. However, the Florist didn't seem to anticipate the busyness and were severely understaffed. The staff available were doing their best and we felt very sorry for them, but it didn't make up for the fact that we waited more than 2 hours for cold sandwiches. The atmosphere was terrible as all tables were equally annoyed. We weren't even offered a discount or complimentary drink for the inconvenience and had to request for the service charge to be removed. Overall, a really negative experience.
