Service was excellent, food was amazing. We had dog with us and she was made welcome. Fantastic overall experience.

Good food, well - made. The burger was a bit too salty, which hid the lovely flavours. Might be worth toning down the sodium a bit. I will return.

Chicken tenders were juicy & perfectly cooked. The Japanese fries are so addictive. I had the burger again to see if it was as good as before.and it was. the addition of kimchi is a great idea. This is street food at it's very best.

Went for a Sunday lunch this afternoon it's was one of the best pub roasts, had so much flavour!!

Well last Sunday was one of the loveliest I can remember for a long time. A Sunday lunch at the flora was a delight from start to finish. Our serve, Claudia, was charming, helpful, and couldn’t do enough to help us. Bar staff were lovely, Jack included. Will definitely be back soon. Claudia and Jack long overdue a raise!!

Food was really good, great selection of beers and friendly and helpful staff! Looking forward to going back!

Enjoyed a fantastic night here recently. Really great music, super energy and great overall vibe. Food selection was unexpected but exceptional and great value for money. Range of beers was excellent and the staff were amazing —friendly, efficient and great craic. Pub decor is modern eclectic, with plenty of seating and clean heated bathrooms. Highly recommend it!

Lovely gastro pub I didn't have food just went in for a date and it has a lovely cosy atmosphere, they also have an outdoor pool table that's covered and some heaters which was good fun.

Had such an amazing experience, the drinks the banter with staff. The whole vibe of The Flora bar was incredible, this bar made my trip to Cardiff 10/10. Highly recommended the Guinness is to die for 😍

Very limited food menu but the food is very high quality.

What a place. Had lunch today the food was absolutely amazing. The meat was excellent quality So tasty best Sunday lunch I've ever had for a long time. Rachael booked the table for six of us today everyone of us said the same. Sticky toffee pudding was so nice. A big thank you to the chef.

Heard good stuff about this place so we decided to pay a visit whilst we were in the area. It was a friendly and relaxed environment just to have a pint some grub and a chat without having to shout at one another. We ordered the shin beef rengadan and rice, with a side of chips. Food was nice, the beef was really tender, the sauce was lovely and thick. Was dissapointed with the portion of chips I received though. I though we would be able to share between the two of us but they were put onto one of the dishes instead. For the price we paid £2.50 for the chips I was dissapointed by how many were given. For that reason I have given 3 stars. Been there done it, wouldn't go back unfortunately.

Really good pub.. good value for money. Although was disappointed with a 45 wait for a side of fries. I do appreciate its busy sometimes but I didn’t feel it was that busy at the time of ordering

Came here for a Sunday roast with my wife. Beef and vegetables were delicious and served in good time. A well balanced meal in terms of flavour, quality and price. Highly recommended.

It was my first time visiting the pub, met a friend for a catch up over drinks and could not have been more ideal! It was cosy inside, and I enjoyed the music playing when I noticed it and wasn't caught up in conversation. Looking forward to going back sometime soon

A brilliant pub with the epic Chef Steve! Cooking some delicious food with top quality produce. Go on a weekday and order the burger, and the Sunday lunch has to be tried!

Great pub, good atmosphere, very clean in the main pun but toilets were poor, big screens for showing sports, definitely a student pub but I didn't feel uncomfortable being the oldest in there at 46 😂 . Super friendly staff!

Love it. I'm 70 and I feel 40-50 years younger when I come here. Well worth a visit, haven't tried the food yet but the beer selection is great, the staff are lovely, friendly, and don't seem to mind chatting to a wrinkly who used to drink here 45 years ago! Beats the *@&% out of the Crwys all day long.

Came as we've had so many good Sunday dinners here and heard there's a new chef, so had high hopes. However the food was all over-salted, especially the veggie option, celeriac. I actually couldn't finish mine. Mash was dry, and tiny! Most disappointing was that the veggie gravy wasn't actually gravy. It was a sauce - nice enough, but please don't promise gravy if it's not gravy! On the whole it was all a bit dry, small (except for the Yorkshire) and not very hot. Hoping it was just a bad day in the kitchen.

Absolutely adore the Flora and all the amazing staff. We have closer pubs to us but always make the extra journey because we love it so much. Their food always hits the spot, best roast I’ve had in YEARS, and it’s also one of very few pubs in the area (apart from spoons) who serve thatchers gold. Great atmosphere, especially on pub quiz nights. Get yourself down there if you like a lively and friendly local.

The Flora has been a welcoming watering hole since my uni days in the 90s. Last night had a welcoming atmosphere and great drinks. It looks much smarter these days, a hidden gem in Cathays. Went with friends for last orders, great to reminisce of the good old days!

Drawn in by the new food offering, we had a lovely visit. We were looked after very well and the food was excellent.

Happy to find a homely feeling pub but with an elevated feel. Lovely staff, and incredible food. Sunday lunch is a must! Can't wait to return!

Been visiting the Flora for 25 years and it's changed a hell of a lot over that time. Love the outdoor area, inside is nice with comfortable seating and clean toilets. Decent choice of beers, nothing amazing but the Guinness is great and Neck Oil is decent for an IPA, they also had a good selection of Ciders. The food at the moment is superb, clearly a very good chef. We loved the special 'chicken, sage and Truffle Croquetas with gravy mayo', chicken tenders with Miso mayo and spiced honey were also great. Really enjoyed the masala potato with cheese flatbread. Lamb Burger was great, Japanese 'dirty' fries were fine (for £6 probably the only dish I wouldn't order again) Can't wait to return to try a few more dishes, some of the best pub grub in Cardiff.

First time at the pub but I can say it’s the best prices in cardiff for a beer. Good music and overall vibe of the pub. Outside area is nice, lots of tables and a pool table. Also very clean would recommend.

Unfortunately the kitchen was shut awaiting a new exciting menu. Beer is great and reasonably priced (£4.10 Staropramen!!) Friendly staff and also dog friendly.

This is a great pub, the atmosphere is really welcoming, the food is great and the wine glasses are cold. The landlord is super cheery and the quiz is fab too. Definitely worth a visit.

Cheapest alcohol in nice pub close to Cardiff uni. And outside seating. Should really keep this to myself.

Recently discovered calabrisella and thought we’d go here for a quick drink before hand. Great choice. Lovely decor, ambiance and friendly staff. Reasonable prices and quality drinks. I look forward to going back.

Nice place. Friendly staff, good for live music or watching the game. Outdoor space is lovely for chillin on a summer evening. Take a taxi, no parking in the area. Highly recommend a visit, will go again soon.

A regular visitor at Flora. Flora is a pub in cathays not very far from the Cardiff city which has a large seating area - indoors as well as outdoors in the garden. There’s a tent as well in the garden which can be booked for parties with large groups. Every Tuesday nights, they host fun pub quizzes. This used to be conducted by the team YES QUIZZES. Apart from this, they also host music bands and other events. It’s a good place for hosting events, although it’s not the cheapest and the most accessible option around. The staff is super friendly too. The biggest downside is that They serve food only on Sundays. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ambience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ drinks ⭐️ food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ value for money Verdict: A good location to hang out in groups.

Lovely atmosphere and roast dinner! definitely worth a try if you’re a student or in the cardiff area. the beef is cooked perfectly (imo - medium rare) and the portion sizes were very substantial! well priced if only having the standard roast, however the added sides can be pricey if you want to full works! Staff were friendly and helpful, and the pub itself has a lovely vibe even just for a few drinks with friends.

Me and my dog Ralph have recently started using the pub and we are always made very welcome. The staff are fantastic and the atmosphere is brilliant. Ralph wants to go there every night 😂

This pub is a real hidden gem and only 10 mins from the city centre. This place has a really homely feel and a fab garden space with a pool table! You always feel very welcome and the staff are lovely, can’t wait to return and try the new menu!

Visited with a group during 'table service only' times, but we had to order, pay and collect from the bar - so not table service at all but good prices, good staff, can't grumble!

The most over priced, low standard roast. Chewy over cooked beef, with terrible veg and 1 toddler size shop brought Yorkshire pudding all for £11! Nice staff let down but terrible food.

Food menu was mainly burgers, dogs and light bites. Fries were perfect, really crisp but light and non-greasy. Very tasty and good prices. Had football on a large screen and games for people to use. Would go again

My experience in this pub was during Euro 2020. They probably brought luck! 🇮🇹 Anyway, they were very friendly and kind. Staff always available with nice food as well.
