Nice guesthouse in the middle of town. Still gives a good impression of an English pub in a small town.

Sunday lunch. Complete disaster. Food had obviously been cooked beforehand for some long time. Carrots withered up. Brocolli overcooked Plate cold. Food just and so warm. Gravy came when meal half eaten. A function on at the same time.... Staff couldn't cope. Sad

The rooms are clean and tidy. The service is excellent, the city is quiet and peaceful. Max 10 min walk to the train station. The bar menu is interesting and unique. Don't skimp on jalapeno and chili. On Fridays and Saturdays there is a live music evening. I missed the breakfast menu. The hotel is pet friendly.

Excellent menu, service and food was really good.it was also our lucky day as it was Thursday and we got one meal half price!!

A group of 12 people visited this venue for lunch recently. I booked a table beforehand. On arrival they kindly put us in an operate room away from the main area. Staff were extremely helpful, and I was pleased to find they catered for Gluten free options on the menu. The food was lovely, and good value. Defiently would revisit.

I am revising my previous review to make a correction of wording. Firstly we were in room 9 & the incinerator outside our window is actually an extractor but still not good. On the plus side the morning breakfast is more than adequate & presented nicely by the pubs friendly staff so I’ve added another ⭐️. They still need to makes improvements to the bathroom thou.

Sensational place to have a drink and listen to music on a Saturday night. We found the atmosphere of local people to be very good. The musical ensemble is quite correct and the average age is high.

Lovely staff, lovely room, lovely place. If you’re old before your time then don’t visit! Was vibrant but as soon as 11pm came it was completely quiet. Lovely little place.

Great bar and we chanced upon the place when they had a band on on a Saturday afternoon. Lovely pint of Guinness. Would have been 5 stars but just before 5pm they ran out of Guinness. Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day and that shows a severe lack of management. Can imagine that there will be quite a few disappointed tonight with the next band on and even more tomorrow on Paddy's Day.

Very delicious Sunday roast lots of tasty vegetables, good service and great value

Popped in for lunch. We had the dirty smash burger and hassleback chicken which I swapped the mashed potato for chips. Both meals were lovely and the lady serving was friendly, polite and helpful.

Third time of staying at this Hotel/pub rooms are well decorated, quirky and clean, nice grab bucket full of treats and mineral water on arrival. However it’s the things that add up that make it not so brilliant, firstly 1 trouser coat hanger in a broken wardrobe, see pics, base completely broken, the shaving light that doesn’t work, the bathroom extractor fan that works to its beat that is annoyingly pulses. Warm water at 7am, TV remote not working, fixed immediately by me, The de luxe room supposed to have Netflix connected, nope seeing as tv is not networked and finally having to work out what WiFi to connect to, not the one stated in the room. Will definitely think about my choice next I stay in Sandwich

16 of us wanted to celebrate Christmas and New Year so ordered various lunch dishes ahead of time. The first disappointment was to receive no welcoming greeting but to be told in hostile fashion that we could not have space in a separate room as arranged but were to be in the front restaurant where it was not possible to have one large table so we would be split into two tables of eight, backs to backs, with scarcely room to breathe. We reluctantly accepted this, not wanting to spoil the occasion. Then came the food. To say it was poor is to understate the matter. One guest had 6 pieces of scampi, a tiny pot of peas and eleven chips. Another, mistakenly thinking you can't go wrong with fish and chips in the UK, had twelve chips and a strangely coated flat fillet of fish. It was probably basa - tasteless and in danger of being toxic. When it was time to pay, we assumed some of these meagre offerings must be from the cheaper 'Senior Citizens' menu but, no, the scampi, fish and chips etc were (adamantly) full price at £10.95 each. I won't go on about the lack of service, about not even being asked if anyone would like water, coffee etc etc. The landlord was not present but, when told of our poor experience, dismissed the whole matter, saying most of their guests told him that their portions were very large! There are lots of delightful places to eat in our lovely town. This is not one of them.

No dogs after 9. Toilet ceiling height is dangerous. Landlord absent. Staff nice but under orders so will never go in there again. Use new inn, market inn, red cow but avoid this dump. I live in sandwich and have many friends here, I will endeavour to make people aware that this pub needs avoiding.

Went for a quiz night , great atmosphere, serves my favourite cider on tap ! Couldn't ask for much more !

Nous avons des sentiments fort partagés pour ce pub. Un très bon point, la nourriture y est excellente ! Les bières aussi ! En plus, il y a de la musique live. Concernant les chambres, celle des enfants était plutôt confortable et bien décorée. Malheureusement, celle des parents ne correspondait pas du tout à la confirmation ni à nos attentes. Le lit est effectivement grand et confortable mais accessible d'un côté seulement, bonne chance si on doit aller à la toilette en pleine nuit ! Et pas de table de nuit du côté mur... Contrairement à l'autre chambre, pas de bureau, pas de chaise... La salle de bain est décevante aussi ! Attente interminable pour avoir de l'eau tiède dans la douche, wc impossible à utiliser sauf à prendre une position gynécologique car la cabine de douche est à 15 cm. De plus, le chauffage ne fonctionnait ni dans la salle de bain ni dans la chambre et avec une fenêtre du 18ᵉ siècle tout est froid et humide. Pas de patère non plus, et donc si vous avez pris une douche le soir, les serviettes sont encore trempées le lendemain matin...

Superb breakfast, the food was excellent, on time, hot and exceptionally tasty. The young lady serving was attentive, fast, polite, friendly, efficient and very friendly. Stayed here for a golf trip to Kent. Quite disappointed with the room that was mouldy and dirty in the bathroom, the live music was so loud that the toilet seat vibrated in our room. I mean it’s fine that there is noice when you stay above a bar but this is not ok by any means.. that the whole room I vibrating until 12 p.m. I have stayed in similar hotels in the uk but newer experienced this kind of loudness. Staff is otherwise polite and food was good. But cleaning and loudness makes us choose another place for our next visit.

Only stayed for a night as we were attending a wedding nearby. Great place for a stopover and the staff were fantastic.

We have just enjoyed a lovely meal here, family of 7, the staff were just amazing so friendly and nothing was to much trouble, food was lovely, great portion sizes, brilliant gluten free choices which is great for me being a coeliac. Would highly recommend and will definitely be re visiting soon.

We hosted our retirement afternoon tea at the fleur this afternoon, all the staff were so friendly and helpful, the cakes were amazing and plentiful, all our guests had a lovely time Thank you so much xx

Met up with a friend who lives in the village. What a great recommendation. Popcorn shrimp followed by possibly the best priced and quality Rump Steak. For less than £15 it was an amazing piece of meat. Recommended.

Not impressed. Meals came plated. Very mezgre. One slice of carot I piece of parsnip. Tiny floret of brocoli. No apple sauce or horseradish. Puddings were a slice of strange tart. Not what we were expecting at all.. Very disappointed

We are locals but the first time eating here. Typical pub, a little run down and tired decor. Sticky table, my arms at the elbows were sticky after. Yuck. We had the “fleur burgers” with chips. They were nothing to write home about. A good amount of meat, but cheap tasting and gristly. The chips were underdone and mealy. For dessert we shared a strawberry shortcake, again, cheaply made of two hard shortbread biscuits with runny cream in between and a total of about 4 strawberries on top. Hard to eat with a fork, all the cream just squeezed out. Would have preferred the scone-like version of shortcake version as that would feel more like a dessert, and certainly for the middle to have some strawberries . It was just a few biscuits with cream, not worth the £5. Overall, we came away disappointed at spending £50 on two average, if not poor, meals. There are definitely better places to eat in sandwich. Always happy to eat at Namaste or The Bell (similar food, similar price, much better quality and feels a treat). Won’t be eating here again.

The rooms are clean and nicely decorated BUT the noise from the busy, lively bar do not allow sleep till around 11.30pm when the bar closes and people leave. The rooms are above the bar which is lovely and lively but extremely loud. In summary this accommodation is not suitable for anyone who likes to sleep before 11.30pm.

Just popped in for a drink on Sunday but the staff were so lovely that we thought we would chance it and have lunch. Really glad we did it was fabulous, hot and tasty(cauliflower cheese was to die for), well cooked vegetables, big portions of meat, lashings of gravy. Couldn’t fault it at all. Couple of great beers on tap and the wine was good. The bill was excellent as well! Very good value for money. Sandwich you are very lucky, this place is a hidden gem.

Great place for music and beer not bad.

Had a Mexican Meal here on the 24th Feb ... with great friends and the meal was brilliant and well worth the money. I had the Tacos with salmon and garlic bread...DELICIOUS 😋 and also 7pm to 8pm 2 cocktails for £15 who could ask for more ✌️. We all had a great night singing and dancing and the staff really didn't mind. Great atmosphere all round and the staff were very friendly. We will definitely be back.

My last day of a delightful pre-Christmas stay in Sandwich so my neighbour and I decided to have Sunday lunch at the Fleur de Lis where I had never been but where a cricket touring side from my cricket club used to stay. Armed with a lovely pint of Harvey's Old Ale and my neighbour a lager, we were shown to our table by a friendly waitress who brought us the menu from which we chose the Christmas lunch with an extra portion of cauliflower cheese. When our meals arrived, we were both bowled over by the contents and sheer tastiness with the cauliflower cheese an added bonus. Methinks I'll be back there again!

Our cycling group of 12 Deal Walmer Wheelers had a fantastic Christmas Lunch on the 1st December. The staff were all very welcoming and provided excellent service. The food everyone thought was great especially the Traditional Turkey Main Course succulent carved turkey with all the trimmings including fresh vegetables and We would like to thank everyone at the Fluer de Lis the owner, chef, bar staff and waitresses for making it a special day. Looking forward to our next Christmas Lunch with the White Mill Heritage Volunteers soon. 🎄Merry Christmas🎄 Bruce

Went today poor service, ordered a starter came out with the main. Waitress had no knowledge of food or wine. Not very good food for the cost. When we complained Hannah the waitress told us if we didn’t like it not to come back again. Very poor

What a great pub. All met for a Sunday lunch - 2bwere stuck in traffic, we explained this to staff and they waited for there arrival. Can't thank them enough Football was on - so for a couple of beers before dinner was excellent. We stayed for the quiz which was packed out and great fun. All in all Great staff Good food Good selection of beers /craft Good prices Dog friendly Will definitely visit again

I am local to Sandwich & I drink in the Fleur regularly. Whatever you do, if you go to the bar, DO NOT leave your drink unattended - either someone else will take it or the bar staff will throw it away. Either way, you will be be out of pocket.

Loved our stay at Fleur De Lis! Our room for 3 was very clean and comfortable. Service was excellent from check-in to check-out, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was incredible! They had generous portions and it was all included in our room booking. The only reason for a 4 and not 5 star was that the water temperature in the shower was tepid and on a cold rainy day it would have been nice to have a warm/ hot shower.

Staff are first class. The breakfast is one of the best I have ever had. The reason for not giving a 5 star review is the bathroom in room 3 was not suitable for larger framed people. We will go back as want to try the restaurant food as judging by the breakfast it will be superb

It was Steak night only problem was a medium rare sirloin was served cold and under cooked. Staff were told the chef recooked the steak but it came back tuff on outside and still undercooked. Manager advised on situation who apologized and offered free puddings and took meal off the bill. The experience was ruined so the free puddings were turned down. Whilst there another person on another table also sent their steak back so the chef was having a bad night. Shame as we were on holiday and previous visits to the pub the food was good.

Popped in for lunch about 1.30 this afternoon. My wife had the sirloin steak with salt and pepper chips which came with coleslaw. I had the fillet steak and ale pie with cheese and spring onion mash. This, was of course, had to be helped down with a pint of guinness and a diet coke for the wife. I have to say our food was extremely good, my pie was packed with steak, had a thin crust and the gravy was outstanding. My mash was very tasty also but my wife really enjoyed her well done steak. We paid £23.12 in total which was an absolute bargain for what was received. Service was excellent and very prompt. We would happily eat there again. Please help our pubs. Visited 9th October 2020.

Staff are all lovely but the room was rather disappointing. Bathroom light didn't work, TV is hung on a wall around the corner, lots of noise from other customers drinking in the street outside until around 1.30 am. Wish we'd read previous reviews and asked to change to another room. Room No 5 Is not to be recommended.
