What an awesome place! We went for dinner on a Friday evening. Such a cosy pub with roaring fire. The welcome and service was first class. Pre-dinner cocktails while we perused the menu after which we went through to our table. Service was well paced. The food was outstanding. A small menu, with every item executed to the highest standard. I'm not normally one for 3 courses but couldn't resist the burrata starter. The treacle rib eye steak was cooked to perfection and the rhubarb and ginger cake dessert rounded off the meal. Love how they support local producers to make everything truly unique. Delicious.

Great little village pub with excellent food. I'm already slowly becoming a regular ... Andrew and Amy know how to keep and pour Guinness too, which is an immense added bonus for me. The food, from Chef Tom, is consistently excellent, the wine list is well thought and sensibly priced. Parking can be a challenge but, trust me, it's well worth it.

To celebrate my birthday, we visited this charming village PH. It's a real find. Beautifully cooked meals worthy of a high class rating. Such a friendly, calming atmosphere, what a treat it was, thank you! It's definitely on our list to revisit again, hopefully on a dry and sunny day. (Booking is a must and parking is cramped at the PH though on-street parking is allowed without restriction.)

How many times do you eat out between Christmas and New Year and wish you hadn’t? Not here. The Five Elms - a pub I frequent occasionally - is in a class of its own in Bucks by offering a standard of astonishingly good food and superb hospitality all year round. A treat time after time. Thank you Andrew, Tom and Amy.

So pleased we chose to eat here during our time in Aylesbury. We had a lovely warm welcome to this traditional village pub and enjoyed a pre-dinner drink by the log fire in the bar. Fantastic from start to finish. Lovely warm welcome & great to see the open fire & log burner roaring! We been here a few times now and always impressed with the delicious food & generally warm feel about the place. Today we tried the roast lunch....11 out of 10, the best roast dinner we have ever had! You know a country pub is serving the right food when everyone in the bar area is talking about the amazing food, especially some of the starters on the current menu.

What a lovely little place! We had an amazing dinner at this picturesque little pub. I’m vegetarian and I’ve never had such a subtly delicious lentil dish as I had here. I’m used to mediocre restaurant vegetarian meals so this was truly a revelation. The other members of our party had fish which I’m told was also delicious. The food was beautifully presented, the service was faultless and friendly and the atmosphere cozy. Altogether a super evening.

From the moment you arrive in this little village, you're in for a surprise. Park up, have a stroll around and admire the quaint beauty of the traditional thatched cottages. The views over Aylesbury vale and surrounding countryside are magnificant. One can see right the way across to Waddesdon Manor, as well as surrounding villages, including the Claydons When you've finally worked up that thirst, be prepared for the "wow factor" as you step inside this oldy worldy traditional English ale-house. Low ceilings and decor fitting of the old style exude a character and warmth that makes you want to stay. The food is just another gastronomic delight, and all presented by the friendliest of staff. So stop by, and you wont be disappointed.

Village pub with large open fireplaces be prepared to wait as the food is all freshly cooked and the wait is worthwhile. A minor delay for the menu [following a check to see what was still on before we were given a copy to read] enabled us to get a good look at the next table before ordering. Portions were well sized so we skipped starters as they looked big enough for a lunch on their own. Everyone had something different and I swapped out mash for potatoes to steer clear from butter. The lamb was sold as pink but as I preferred a darker meat, I was advised that as the plate was always rested before serving it would not be rosy coloured. It was worth the risk as the lamb was so tender but still brown in a delicious thin but flavoursome gravy the simple potatoes and tender broccoli complimented it perfectly. The mint sauce lifted the greens and the ale was a natural pairing. A perfect Sunday treat.
