Dinton Hermit in Aylesbury Vale

Had a meal with family. The meal was beautiful. It's friendly and clean, the prices were reasonable. The whole place had a lovely atmosphere. I, totally recommend going here for a meal, as well as relaxing for a drink. We live nearby, so did stay in accommodation.

Our experience of service is not the same as others have reported. We were group of 7 who went for Mother’s Day Sunday Lunch. On arrival our table was not ready for a midday booking. It took 30 minutes before our table was ready. When we did get seated taking our order was slightly problematic as the first tablet that the waitress tried to use did not work properly and had to go away and come back with a new tablet. Even after taking the order the waitress then came back and asked us to confirm again what the order was. The starters arrived as expected. The mains were then the problem as we had to ask three times as to where our mains were. While we were waiting for our mains other parties had come in and been served and left. Some of us did order desserts which did arrive quite promptly but overall, it took a total of 3 hours for us to complete our meal. What is annoying is that the food once we received it was very good. Without being asked the restaurant did discount all the main meals by 50% even so it was not a great experience.

Beautiful building, fantastic food. Outstanding service. Brilliant bedrooms with iron and ironing board and hairdryer in the room. Absolutely fantastic 10 stars

Looking at the other reviews, I think we must have been unlucky! The food was good, location is lovely but the service was truly awful. We couldn't have been made feel less welcome if they tried. Will not be going again.

Well what can I say . Absolutely beautiful. The food was first class ( Scottish menu made it even better lol ) service fabulous. I got a tour of the place wow it's fabulous love it love it.

Tried restaurant for first time. Very welcoming staff and nice ambience. Food was great and service was faultless. We will definitely go back again.

Reservamos para un sábado por la noche y sólo 2 mesas ocupadas que era sorprendente. a pesar de esto, el servicio era deficiente. La camarera tenía que ir y pedir el chef lo que algunos de los platos eran y tuvimos que volver a buscarla la almohadilla cuando llegó a tomar nuestros pedidos. Sin embargo, la comida estaba bien preparado y raciones eran buenas, y está bastante bien de precio. Teníamos 4 entradas diferentes, patés, sopa, el queso de cabra y el salmón que todos disfrutamos. los platos principales fueron asado de pavo con todos los adornos y de buen tamaño y raciones y sabroso, pero sin verduras verdes. Los postres eran pegajosa toffees, sorbete y limón posset - todo bien. A pesar de nuestra buena comida, nos sentimos muy infravalorado como clientes, debido a la mala calidad del servicio y la falta de cualquier personal visible para pujar nosotros despedida cuando nos fuimos. Este sentimiento se ha agravado por el hecho de que el correo electrónico de mi esposa al gerente ha recibido respuesta.

El 22 de diciembre de 2007 mi marido y yo nos casamos en el Dinton ermitaño. Fue un día increíble que nos llevó a ir allí cada año para celebrar nuestro aniversario.

Como estábamos de paso por paramos en para el almuerzo, el menú se veía preciosa y ambos tuvimos una comida ligera pero era muy caro nos avena a menos de £20 para 2 2 bebidas y sándwiches. El servicio era rápido, pero éramos los únicos dos personas en el tiempo, la comida era buenísima y como un capricho era agradable, lo recomendaría como un descuento.

I went here recently. Had a beef sandwich which came with chips. Well, about 5 chips. It was very tasty but 7 quid for a sandwich?

Cuatro de nosotros cenamos aquí en lunes festivos. El restaurante estaba lleno a la mitad, pero el personal parecía un poco abrumado. Nos sentamos en una mesa bastante estrecho para cuatro. los pedidos de bebida llevaron rápidamente, aunque nuestro camarero parecía un poco distraído en las cervezas. más decepcionantemente, el menú es significativamente diferente de lo que es en línea. Fuimos allí recientemente ya que había oído que era muy bueno. El servicio fue muy amable y nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos. La comida era buena y razonable para lo que era. era mejor que en la mayoría de los lugares alrededor Aylesbury y sin duda volvería.

This was the worst experience I have had in a very long time. The staff were rude to the point that we got up and left without waiting for our meal. I will never ever set foot in that place again!

Gran jardín para los niños corriendo. El personal amable y buena comida (buena comida de pub pero no muy buen nivel de restaurante) pero el servicio era muy lento. Reservamos una mesa para 12,45 , llegamos a 5 minutos de nuestra reserva, ordenados tan pronto como sea posible pero no comida hasta después de las 2 pm. Sólo dos cervezas de barril. Este pub está en la lista de Alistair Sawdays lugares especiales y me decepcionó - no creo que fue muy especial. Es esta primera decepción que hemos tenido en muy frecuentada conjunto de buenas recomendaciones de Sawday.

Dropped in on a whim for lunch on a Friday. Food was tasty and value for money. Plenty of choice on the bar menu. Location is good. Pub is very tidy and staff are friendly.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Aylesbury then this is it. Great accommodation, excellent food, friendly staff with always a warm welcome. I have stayed here over the last 6 months through work and never disappointed. The food is always excellent quality with regular menu changes according to seasonal products. Always a couple of local beers on tap, very good wine list. Makes a very pleasant change from the normal chain hotels. Try it for yourself.

I can't believe I have lived do near to this pub and never eaten there before until today. The food is fantastic. The service excellent. The three course lunch menu was unbelievable for the price. Lovely food lovely staff I will without doubt be going again, very soon I hope. Would highly recommend.

I lunched here with a small group of friends celebrating 50 years since our student days.We ate late, but did not suffer any time pressures from the staff, who were friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, and ranged from English stables (like roast beef) to interesting fish and vegetable dishes. My lamb was first-class. Most of us had enjoyed a fussy but delicious novelle cuisine meal in college the night before, and a hearty breakfast, but we still found it hard to resist the DH's puddings. The non-drivers drank house wine with enthusiasm. The bar had a roaring fire and kept its beer well, so the wait for latecomers was very pleasant. Despite the high standard of food, the environment is informal, and we had to step over some large dogs to get to the loo. The only thing I'd change is the outside door, which needs a spring to help it close (you certainly need the fire if somebody fails to close it, even at the end of September).

Fantastic little pub / restaurant, we went there again last week, the atmosphere is relaxing, the staff are helpful and courteous and everything is done extremley well. The food is presented in a very good way, my only criticism would be that the menu [after a couple of visits) could do with a little more variety. However this has to come out on top of our best places to eat this year.
