Came in today (8/4) for lunch and was served by Casey! Not having been to the codfather before I can honestly say I’m going back! The food was brilliant but the service I received was even better! I’ve worked in customer service since I was 13 so a long long time and I can’t say I’ve had better customer service than that, thank you Casey for all the service you provide

First time trying this chip shop and was a really, really poor experience unfortunately. First of all, we ordered via the app. Upon arrival the gent and the front desk asks the chef if she had seen the app order, to which she replied no. So after waiting at home for what we thought was for the food to be ready, we then had to wait in store for it all to be cooked. We were then informed the battered Mars bar we had ordered & paid for wasn’t in stock, so although I had paid in full for it, I ended up going to the Tescos next door and purchasing a Mars bar for them to batter for me. This put me at near enough £5 down for a battered Mars bar, but I shrugged it off. However we then got home to notice that the halloumi we had paid for was not in the bag, which was £4.80 odd. So almost at a £10 loss of not received items. Pretty darn poor. 2 stars because the food we did receive was quite nice, I will be back to get my £4.80 credit for the halloumi I didn’t receive, but I can’t say I will be recommending this place to anyone.

Had several lovely meals from the Codfather at both Aylesbury stores. Always super friendly on the counter and the Cod and chips are amazing. Highly recommend.

I have used my local fish and chip shop a few times now, the food is good quality chips are cooked just right not to greasy, they have good lunchtime deals on and the staff there are very happy and polite especially Lucy who served me today. A* all round.

Very popular place serving fresh fish that is unfortunately let down by the quality of oil! 👎 It seems that oftentimes, the food is not fried using fresh/high quality oil which degrades the overall taste despite the very fresh, tasty fish they source. If you eat quite cleanly and thus have more sensitive stomachs, you might want to look elsewhere or else, face a lot of heartburn/indigestion due to the degraded fats in the overused cooking oil irritating your stomach... This is not something I say lightly, as I've been ordering from this place on and off for 15 years now. Other than the oil issue, the staff is always friendly and helpful. If you're lucky, they may use fresh cooking oil on the day you order, and then your experience should be delicious and problem free, but the inconsistency of quality is something that should be considered.

Called in tonight, ordered 3 medium cod and chips. The one fish was OK, but the other 2 were the smallest and skiniest cod I've even been served in any fish & chips shop in this country. This is not their normal, usually everything is perfect. But tonight, a bit embarrassing, to be honest...

Decided to try The Codfather for a change as I usually go to Berryfields fish bar. Upon arrival I was greeted with a lovely smile from Chantelle who was behind the counter. She ask me how my day was and took my order. While I was waiting for my food I had a lovely chat with her about our days and had good banter. The older lady who was also working seems a bit rude to the staff and was speaking in her native language which I also find rude as her English was spot on. Overall my experience was good, Chantelle was lovely and chatty but the food was average. Would probably go back just for a chat.

Came here after ages and it did not disappoint! Customer service was great, I believe her name was Chantelle, polite, helpful, patient while I pondered at the whole menu! Won't leave it so long till my next visit! Always nice to have good banter while getting your fix of Aylesbury's finest fish, chips and savaloy!

Got a takeaway for my care home today, I could only recommend the best chip shop around, service from start to finish amazing, considering we got an order for 14 people, everything came piping hot! And nothing was missing, couldn’t thank Juliano and his whole team enough!

For prices such as £3.99 you can have a munch that will leave u royally satisfied. Was just passing through when I stumbled upon this little heaven. Such underpriced food for quality. Outstanding work and probably the best chippy I’ve had since I was a boy.

The Codfather provided a selection of food for our Quiz Night in aid of Aylesbury Foodbank, with around 80 or so orders. They delivered the food to us too, and it all came hot and was very tasty, with cutlery and salt and vinegar provided too. Thanks to Juliano and the team, the food really topped off our evening!

Disappointing Experience - Be Warned Cod fathers Fish and Chip Shop 2 Jackson Rd, Aylesbury HP19 9BF used to be a reliable favorite of mine, but after my most recent visit, I won’t be returning anytime soon. I arrived at 11:30 AM, just as the shop opened, and ordered a ¼ chicken and chips for lunch, paying over £12. When I got home, I was shocked to find the chicken undercooked and far from crispy. To make matters worse, the chips were clearly leftovers from the previous night that had just been reheated. When I called to complain, I was told that this is their "normal procedure." If you’re looking for fresh, properly cooked food, I’d suggest you go elsewhere

Fabulous take away gluten-free fish and chips for two, and standard battered sausage and chips for two, along with tasty curry sauce and perfect mushy peas (not too mushy, and lovely taste!). The service was friendly and timely, and food was well wrapped and easily carried. We love the Codfather's food, and would definitely recommend to others, in particular the gluten-free community 😋

Shop always clean and tidy . Staff are friendly . ( could do with a different colour top ) . Will let you know how long you will need to wait for order . Food always hot . Will sort any problems out with a order . ( had a order a few weeks back got home and some items were missing . Told them about it on my next visit and they gave me a refund . As I'm known there . as a nurse I call in regular . Nothing is to much for them .

Ordered 2x fish and chips, and NO CHIPS. After 20 minutes drive there and back, an hour wait for the order. The person who picked up the phone just apologised but nothing they could do. Be warned! Don’t waste your time!! I have never known a fish & chip shop to just give you fish. And looking at the last comments, seems like a recurring mistake. Diabolical!!

Absolutely awful … twice I have been to collect from here and twice order has been wrong, 1st time Sarah forgot to make my order so was waiting 45 minutes for her to say ‘ I’m doing it now’ today got back home (25 mins away) to find food missing that was clearly on the recipett Today Lucy served me after Sarah shouted infront of everyone to come and serve, whilst Lucy is serving me Sarah was shouting at her which again I found very unprofessional Chip shop has seriously gone down hill , owners should be ashamed of how it is now , won’t be back

I came here to purchase a large order for a party served to me by a lovely lady named Sarah. Everything was perfect and piping hot. Everyone was pleased as punch. Friendly staff, good food and great location. Can't be beaten. Extra thanks to Sarah!

Honestly waited ages for the food the savaloy was rock hard and cold the curry sauce takes like it comes from a packet the onion rings were soggy and just overall close to the worst chippy I've ever had would not recommend to anyone

Disappointed, made an app order earlier in the day for a set time. Had to wait for the order which I appreciate. But when I got home the order was missing chips and curry sauce. Which I had to go back to collect, on arrival the curry sauce had run out, I was asked if I wanted a replacement by that time I just wanted my chips. Disappointed. Will be looking to go elsewhere.

Ordered Fish and chips and pie to take away, fish was cooked from fresh and the pie and chips well cooked and everything was still hot by the time I got home in rush hour traffic. The young lady that served me (May) was very friendly and polite, and advised me that the fish would take a little while as it was being cooked from fresh, which was great to hear Well done.

Esther is so bubbly. She has a warm energy that radiates . She gave me the history of fish and chips which was very interesting. I’ve learnt much . Also Esther is my hero. I started to eat my chips and accidentally chocked and Esther came out to help me regurgitate my chip. Service 10/10 would go again.
