Got a takeaway for my care home today, I could only recommend the best chip shop around, service from start to finish amazing, considering we got an order for 14 people, everything came piping hot! And nothing was missing, couldn’t thank Juliano and his whole team enough!

Never dissapointed. Order was ready on collection and complete. May, who had prepared my order was friendly.

Fantastic fish and chips, I visit the shop every Friday. The shop is always clean and the staff are very hard-working. I highly recommend.

Disappointing Experience - Be Warned Cod fathers Fish and Chip Shop 2 Jackson Rd, Aylesbury HP19 9BF used to be a reliable favorite of mine, but after my most recent visit, I won’t be returning anytime soon. I arrived at 11:30 AM, just as the shop opened, and ordered a ¼ chicken and chips for lunch, paying over £12. When I got home, I was shocked to find the chicken undercooked and far from crispy. To make matters worse, the chips were clearly leftovers from the previous night that had just been reheated. When I called to complain, I was told that this is their "normal procedure." If you’re looking for fresh, properly cooked food, I’d suggest you go elsewhere

The Codfather provided a selection of food for our Quiz Night in aid of Aylesbury Foodbank, with around 80 or so orders. They delivered the food to us too, and it all came hot and was very tasty, with cutlery and salt and vinegar provided too. Thanks to Juliano and the team, the food really topped off our evening!

Fabulous take away gluten-free fish and chips for two, and standard battered sausage and chips for two, along with tasty curry sauce and perfect mushy peas (not too mushy, and lovely taste!). The service was friendly and timely, and food was well wrapped and easily carried. We love the Codfather's food, and would definitely recommend to others, in particular the gluten-free community 😋

Shop always clean and tidy . Staff are friendly . ( could do with a different colour top ) . Will let you know how long you will need to wait for order . Food always hot . Will sort any problems out with a order . ( had a order a few weeks back got home and some items were missing . Told them about it on my next visit and they gave me a refund . As I'm known there . as a nurse I call in regular . Nothing is to much for them .

Ordered 2x fish and chips, and NO CHIPS. After 20 minutes drive there and back, an hour wait for the order. The person who picked up the phone just apologised but nothing they could do. Be warned! Don’t waste your time!! I have never known a fish & chip shop to just give you fish. And looking at the last comments, seems like a recurring mistake. Diabolical!!

I came here to purchase a large order for a party served to me by a lovely lady named Sarah. Everything was perfect and piping hot. Everyone was pleased as punch. Friendly staff, good food and great location. Can't be beaten. Extra thanks to Sarah!

Absolutely awful … twice I have been to collect from here and twice order has been wrong, 1st time Sarah forgot to make my order so was waiting 45 minutes for her to say ‘ I’m doing it now’ today got back home (25 mins away) to find food missing that was clearly on the recipett Today Lucy served me after Sarah shouted infront of everyone to come and serve, whilst Lucy is serving me Sarah was shouting at her which again I found very unprofessional Chip shop has seriously gone down hill , owners should be ashamed of how it is now , won’t be back

Disappointed, made an app order earlier in the day for a set time. Had to wait for the order which I appreciate. But when I got home the order was missing chips and curry sauce. Which I had to go back to collect, on arrival the curry sauce had run out, I was asked if I wanted a replacement by that time I just wanted my chips. Disappointed. Will be looking to go elsewhere.

Honestly waited ages for the food the savaloy was rock hard and cold the curry sauce takes like it comes from a packet the onion rings were soggy and just overall close to the worst chippy I've ever had would not recommend to anyone

Fantastic service, lovely pie and chippings

Ordered Fish and chips and pie to take away, fish was cooked from fresh and the pie and chips well cooked and everything was still hot by the time I got home in rush hour traffic. The young lady that served me (May) was very friendly and polite, and advised me that the fish would take a little while as it was being cooked from fresh, which was great to hear Well done.

Esther is so bubbly. She has a warm energy that radiates . She gave me the history of fish and chips which was very interesting. I’ve learnt much . Also Esther is my hero. I started to eat my chips and accidentally chocked and Esther came out to help me regurgitate my chip. Service 10/10 would go again.

Lovely food and service. Was served by Esther who let me breakdown in her arms over my recent divorce (Linda) and consoled me. Gave me her card if i needed anymore advice, will be coming again! also reccomend the chips, crispy!

I've order 2 menus of medium cod with chips and mushy peas and they didn't bring the chips at all and one of the fish was eaten from it ,I called them and they apologised bit they said is nothing they can do about it ,when I told them about the fish being eaten from it they start laughing .

I find the quality of food and service from here is always good. On my recent visit Nicole served me quickly and food was hot and packaged well. Was pleased.

Really gone downhill, lots of new staff who seem clueless. I usually order on the app to save time. But on the last 3 visits they hadn't checked the machine and had no idea of my order , so I end up having to wait up to 20mins, sometimes no apology. They also seem to give priority to deliveroo or just eat drivers over other customers ..

The Codfather catered for Aylesbury United’s annual end-of-season awards evening at Rivets Sports and Social Club. 48 fish and chip suppers were provided: all piping hot and bang on time. Very fair prices. No complaints about the food (only compliments) from our guests! Highly recommended!

I come in once in a while and when i do im quite often served by Nicole. She always got a smile , Fast service and great manners . But all round all customer service was very good !

Normally I would be eating this chip shop no less than a 5 but today I can honestly say I am disappointed. Had we not driven home I would be taking the food straight back. The chips served were shrivelled up and dried out, clearly left overs from the night before and reheated. Normally the food served is of a good quality. Next time instead of driving away I will be checking the quality. The staff were very friendly and it was good to see that the cleaning was being done, but surely cleaning should be undertaken outside cooking and serving times.

Adriana was really pleasant, took my order attentively and the food was great. Even though we don’t live in Aylesbury, if we are in the area we often pop in as the chips are always fresh and fantastic.

This is probably the best fish and chip shop in Aylesbury. I just Wish you’d cook your food the traditional way in beef dripping - then it would be five stars. That would elevate it to the next level. Vegetable oil is pretty tasteless.

I visited the Jackson Road branch this evening and was very quickly served by Kira who welcomed me with a friendly smile. My order was very quickly out and again Kira called me to collect it and wished me a lovely evening. Such a lovely young lady, she is a real credit to your team. Food was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious.

Anyone who has ever had decent fish and chips will realise that these just don’t cut it. The fish were small and the batter was soggy. Chips were ok but the curry sauce had a funny taste. Wouldn’t go back in a hurry.

Terrible! I used to love this place, but every time I order now, they do not pay attention to the receipt order. Many items get missed, and if they are there, they are wrong ( missing ingredients paid for ) Or the wrong items in the order. Absolutely ruined my families evening ! And this has happened more than 5 times, so this needs to be sorted. You have lost us as customers now. While waiting for your food too, you see customers come back in and complain items are missed. Delivery sucks even more ! You can't complain about it because you need to wait for the receipt to be generated. It's disgusting that so many peoples money and time get wasted having to sort this out. You'd rather have your food be late than not there at all ! Pay attention to your receipts and notes on the receipts! Not happy at all and evening ruined.

I came to the Codfather because of it's great reviews, I ordered haddock and chips, the fish was cooked to order so it took a while, that I don't mind. When I got home I was very disappointed in the meal. The portion was generous but the fish was dry and not very tasty as if it had been in the freezer for too long. The chips were very thin cut rectangular in section (presumably so that they cook quicker) so they were also quite dry, I wont be rushing back.

Jay at the Codfather is so friendly and helpful. He has arranged several meals that have been delivered still steaming out of the heat bags. We are talking 40 - 60 meals so to have them all arrive hot is a task in itself. The food has always gone down well and I can highly recommended them as the best Fish & Chip shop in Aylesbury. I wouldn't use anyone else.

The food was good, my only complaint is that as part of my takeaway I ordered battered halloumi, double checked that it was vegetarian with the assistant, and then when I got home found that it had been put in the same bag as the battered sausage. No good for a vegetarian, my daughter could not eat it.

Husband just brought steak and kidney pie (ticket n.o. 71) plus chips and small battered sausage ,pie was stone cold when temp checked it was only 18.5. Not good enough . As I work with food knowing that a temperature of that is unexceptionable please check your temperatures off the food before you make people ill

Must be the best curry sauce I have ever had, I had chips, large sausage in batter accompanied with a curry sauce a real bargain would recommend to anybody not to mention fantastic service thank you. Hadrian

Worst fish and chips I have not eaten.Cod tasted like Haddock,grey flesh and batter was so oily.Chips were also oily and tasteless.£18.60 wasted

This is usually a great fish and chip shop. But our little group of friends ordered 5 fish and 2 large boxes of chips and when we got home there was only one box of chips. And we were really hungry. We had to fill up with lots of cake. Bit disappointed.
