Me considero un pescador :) Definitivamente disfruto comiendo mariscos. Cuando vi el restaurante, pensé para mis adentros que definitivamente debería entrar. Los platos eran geniales y muy recomendados. ¡Pescado y patatas fritas bastante increíbles!

Lovely lunch sitting out in the sun. Fish and chips was great, very crunchy batter and lovely crispy chips with skins on. Nice presentation. Tasty salad too. Friendly staff with speedy service.

We sat inside , upstairs jby the window , it was lovely . The fish and chips was amazing . It was all great apart from the cleanliness of the toilet . The ladies was out of order , so that meant using the gents and sadly that was a really a disappointment . All restaurants should be judged by their toilets and kitchens . Sadly we British do not complain enough . To The fisherman’s management , I hope it was a one off .

Petit restaurant typique anglais à 2 pas du pavillon royal dans une petite ruelle très sympa. Très calme à 14h. Les serveuses sont très souriantes et gentilles. Service rapide et efficace. Fish and chip très bon.

Seen a few bad reviews about this place but the food was great on our visit ! Nice to sit outside and enjoy the weather Fish and chips Gluten free 10/10 One thing that was a little annoying was a busker that wasn’t particularly good who hung around for 40 minutes singing the same songs but it’s a free country as they say.....

Had Sunday breakfast here. Menu doesn’t show anything GF even the hollandaise is made with malt vinegar... however server was only too happy to do me bacon and egg ciabatta which was perfectly cooked. Put it on your menu! Show that you can cater for people who are gluten intolerant, tell people.

We decided to stop here for a drink on one of the busiest days in Brighton. after finding an outdoor table we were informed that we would have to order food too. after looking at all the other people around us it was clear that people were just having drinks and no food. I pointed this out to the server who just then just said we have just decided to do this. turned round and just walked of. Rude

Nice welcome. Went ro eat inside up stairs. Dirty table however it did not explain the swarm of flies. Decided to eat outside. My wife ordered the Frutti de Mare. Waitress advised one item not available. Then came back and advised a second item not available. Decided to move on. Eat here when it was the Galleria a few years ago and it was superb. I have given it a two star rather than one because in fairness the dishes being served to other people looked good. But with the flies and none availability of the basis ingredients of a dish we will avoid. However, it may have been just a bad day!!

Sat next to (on top of) a table from a different restaurant, scampi and chips was nice but can only think they were running out of tartar sauce. Smudging it across the plate wasn't fooling anyone Now on to the cocktails. Was served a long island iced tea in a pint glass with no discernable taste other than coke, and a lemon drop that was particularly heavy on the lemon syrup. At £8.50 a pop expect much better.

Advertised as ‘The Best Fish & Chips in Town’ well thankfully Brighton is a city. Served on a wooden platter...Wrong! With a smear of tartare sauce that looked like someone one had stepped and slipped in it. Wrong! A dollop of mushy peas on the edge of the platter...so how do I soak that in vinegar without using the table as a plate? Wrong! The fish and chips were fine but I’ve had a lot better. Ordered a side of bread and butter and was served toast! WRONG! Then tried to pay with AMEX...in Brighton ?...apparently that is also Wrong!

Went there for a starter. Glad that is all I went for. £24.70 for a starter and 2 glasses of wine fine, but don't charge me for 3 pound service that wasn't good. I mean don't charge me for a service where I had to ask for a menu. I Wouldn't go back. Also they gave me rubbish for change. Would defienalty not recommended it.

We stumbled across this pub late on Sunday afternoon after a hot day in Brighton. Unfortunately the waitress had to tell us that there was virtually nothing left on the menu. However we had a couple of beers, halloumi burger and fish finger sandwich with chips. It's a shame that there was nothing left on the menu cos what we had was excellent! Next time we will get there at a better time!

Genuinely, my new favourite place in Brighton! Blink and you miss it, tucked into a corner down on the road that leads from the main part of town to the Pavilion. Small shopfront and sign are unassuming and from a glance you’ll think it’s either an antique shop or a fish and chip shop. It’s gorgeous! I would hazard a guess it’s an independent as it is well presented and makes good use of its old shop exterior and then shabby chic style interior design. We went for just drinks and sat in an awesome first floor circular table off in an alcove that was perfect for group socialising/conversation dynamic. Service was easy and relaxed but made us feel welcome and comfortable as opposed to being kept waiting. Although we didn’t dine, the boast of being the best fish and chips will have me returning another time ... Genuinely love this place, think it’s a little gem.

Booked for the family. Polite at booking, even offered us to choose the table. On arrival, ordered the fish and chips for everyone. Was told 30min wait (ok). 1hr45 then had to leave.. still no food. Family disappointed. Ruined last part of a nice day. Arrogant owner didn’t even have the courtesy to apologise. Staff claimed a fault in the kitchen, but I witnessed the owner prioritising the customers that were making the most fuss.. not my style, but will never go again.

I can see that most of the reviews for this restaurant are excellent so perhaps the restaurant had a problem just on the evening I went. Someone's review even said 'the best fish and chips in Brighton.' Oh dear! It was the worse fish and chips I'd ever had. A mass of brown batter with a bit of fish inside, the triple cooked chips were cold, pale, thin french fries! There was no lemon, the homemade tartare sauce didn't look or taste homemade to me and it was all sitting in a puddle of grease. When the waiter picked the board up to take it away, when I'd 'finished' the grease was all on the table. The waiter never even asked how the meal was as I'd left most of it. My husband had the mussels which were meant to served in a creamy garlic sauce and crusty bread but came with hardly any sauce (that wasn't creamy) cold french fries and toast. My glass of wine was warm too and actually not very nice. The setting was lovely sitting outside as it had been a lovely hot day and listening to the jazz band was wonderful and staff were really friendly.

Wow what a find for our first night in Brighton! We are on a family holiday and the manager Brett was so accommodating and helpful and a total diamond. Really cannot fault this wonderful place. The food was excellent, the attention to detail was second to none and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Absolutely would recommend and would return.

It has a cosy but well laid out ambiance. We liked the menu and the food and service were all excellent. It was memorable and we shall be back.

We just picked this place on the off chance as it was a Saturday night an places are booked up. We both had a lovely meal here. Moules as starters and we both had the rump steak. Finally the deserts. I decided to have the vegan chocolate torte. Wow what a lovely desert with coconut ice cream. Everything’s as very good. Great staff nice and friendly and polite. We ever had complementary tequilas which was a very nice touch. This place is well with a visit.

What an experience! found this place by sheer chance as we were walking through the back streets. The owner was so friendly and welcoming and invited us in for food and drinks. The building was an old fisherman's cottage and most of the features are original. the small intimate rooms for private dining or larger tables for bigger groups. We ended up staying not only for food but for about another 3 hours after as we chatted and laughed with the owner and the chef. I couldn't recommend this restaurant enough. The menu is limited - fish, chips with pea puree or homemade burgers. We had the fish and it was to die for! Thank you for making us feel so welcome and laughing with us and making our day perfect.

We wanted fish and chips and nearly didn’t go in as it was their ‘Burger Buddies’ night. We were met by a very welcoming guy who could not have done more to offer us anything they could do accommodate our fish and chip request with the fish they had for their burgers.

We were passing through and came across this little place the owner noticed us looking at the menu outside and came out to say hello. He included my teenage daughter and her friend in the conversation. We stayed and chose two grazing platters ‘sea and land’ both delicious. My daughter and her friend had the beef burgers which were a substantial size and they thoroughly enjoyed. I was also recommended a gin to try, hit the spot! Overall very friendly and welcoming service. Lovely decorated rooms, small and quaint.

We attempted to dine at The Fisherman's on Saturday as we were visiting Brighton from Cambridgeshire to celebrate our friend's birthday. Dinner was to be her birthday present, so after plenty of research on TripAdvisor we made our reservation the previous week, requesting a nice table as it was a special celebration. We also rang to confirm 90 minutes before we arrived. We were seated, served drinks and given a menu but to our amazement were then told that they had run out of all food with the exception of a small salami platter to share as a starter and cod and chips! We were absolutely stunned and had we not wanted to spoil our friend's surprise we would have left. In hind sight we should have moved on and gone elsewhere. We asked for desert but that had also run out. It was laughable. We asked for a cheese board but the kitchen had closed up (9.30pm on a sturdy!!) and we were told that we would cause an argument if we insisted on a cheese board. We were given one round of shot drinks as compensation and handed a bill for £120 for the privilege of dining at what must be the only restaurant in the world with no food! As we booked in advance we would have appreciated being forewarned that there was no food. Luckily Tesco was open for us to purchase desert and cheese on the way back to our accommodation and very nice it was too!

A quaint, but rather cramped restaurant/pub, TF seemed appealing to us for lunch on a wet Saturday afternoon. We sat outside under an umbrella enjoying a drink before our table was ready. Staff were friendly, we have to admit.

If you are looking for a great place where to eat some good fish in Brighton you found it. It goes with the music. You will arrive as stranger and leave as a friend.

My son and I went to brighton as a stop off to goodwood revival ... this place is a fantastic oasis in a desert of places to eat and hospitality. A guy called heath looked after us with tuna starter then steak and mussels. The big problem were the chips .... they should be be locked up for their insanity I have been round the world a bit and never never tasted anything like them... next time if you want to raise your standard a tad - put them in a bucket, a big bucket - awesome people pity your 300 miles away .... see you next year ..... for a bucket. The setting is nice, the service is good and very friendly but we were a bit disappointed with the food. The mussels had lovely sauce with sour dough bread but they were poor quality, small and stringy. One of our party had a burger which they found a bit dry.

Great place for those looking for perfect seafood experience in Brighton. A nice live jazz is just a bonus.

Sadly we were too late for breakfast, but the guys were so friendly. We decided to have coffee before carrying on our journey through Brighton. The coffee was great, and they were kind enough to find a couple of biscuits for our little boy.

Lovely cosy little place, the staff is super friendly and will recommend what dishes are fresh from the day. Delicious and good value for money. I recommend it specially for the evenings as the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful.

Had a lovely lunch here today , fresh cod excellent tasty light batter , home made chips , lovely home made tartar sauce and mushy peas and lemon, also had a side of rocket & fennel salad , the best fish and chips we have had! Prices very reasonable for great quality food.

Went to this restaurant for lunch and the meal was superb and the staff were so friendly. We sat outside in the large seating area and had a burger with homemade chips and a seafood starter, great food with friendly staff.

The Best Seafood Risotto I have ever had!! The seafood was cooked to perfection and the flavours tantalised my tastebuds!!!

My second visit, I thought i’d give it another go.

Unassuming and rustic little establishment in a courtyard on east street Brighton. Ordered cod and chips not expecting the superbly cooked beer battered fish of such quality with double cooked chips and freshly made tartare sauce+ peas.

Second visit to this excellent venue.It is the first time that this location had absolutely nailed it.The first time myself and my wife had the seared tuna and it was superb my dad had the fish and chips and it was excellent good service great staff attention to detail was 110% Bruce and his army of great staff go the extra mile to make sure everything is to a high standard.The second time we visited myself and my wife had the seafood platter along with the swordfish cappacio (highly recommended by Bruce)and again my dad had the fish and chips again and it was excellent. I really hope this establishment can survive the winter as the actual inside is quite small and it mainly relies on the outside space i will certainly be visiting here in the winter and i hope the loyal customers will too.

The service was spot on , friendly and attentive ( and they were busy but working hard ) ! We had a rhubarb gin, which was gorgeous . The food looked so good coming out we had to try a grazing board , one of the best starters I've ever had ! Everything was delicious . If you are in Brighton you must visit this gem of a place - after a fair amount of bad service on our stay here this place was refreshing and ticked all our boxes , we will be back !

My friend and I go out every Thursday for fish and chips, we like to try different places, some we definitely return to, others we never return. Today we went to The Fisherman's for the first time, this one is a sure fire return, these were some of the best fish and chips I have eaten. the staff were very friendly, and because the weather is so nice there were many tables outside under big umbrellas which was just as well as the seating is upstairs as is the toilet. I am disabled and cannot 'do' stairs, so in the winter this may not be a suitable venue for me, this would be a shame as the food was so good.

Went on a Saturday evening they were two chefs short and you would know it took the guts of an hour to get fish and chips. The food was super when it came out and the staff were friendly and apologetic. Would I do it again debatable if you are hungry and have to wait so long it takes the good out of it.

The owner is passionate about providing good food and good service. We had ordered several dishes within 5 minutes of talking to him and his staff on a busy Saturday lunchtime.

My husband and I went to the Fisherman’s for an evening meal on Saturday,we had planned to have a few drinks and the meal.We had a starter from the “todays special board” sword fish and from the menu bruschetta with sliced tomato and cheese and fresh sliced tuna,it was out of this world with flavours and fabulous presentation.

Had wonderful food. The owner is attentive and friendly. Stayed there for drinks after eating as such a lovely atmosphere with a very talented musician playing outside.

Terrible and extremely slow service. We had to wait one hour Small portions. No compensation. Will never return.

Had a lovely family meal here, great location and very friendly. All four of us had delicious meals, especially the fish and chips and sea bass. Will definitely return.

Friendly, helpful service. My wife tried Vegan pasta on special menu, she loved it. I had the burger and chips, really enjoyed. Good wine and coffee. Both Had the Strawberry dessert, rich and delicious. Highly recommend The Fisherman’s.

Best battered cod I've ever had by miles!! Heath, the manager told us chef ladles extra batter just as fish goes into the fryer. My wife's seafood pasta was also lovely. Great setting, sat outside with brilliant live acoustic set from Seth. Staff were all terrific. But special thanks again to Heath. Friendly and fun guy who was even good enough to recommend an alternative restaurant that he loves if we fancied something different.

Stopped here on a whim after walking by and hearing great live music. Just had a pint and a bruschetta (delicious!!) and passed some time. Service friendly, good food.

We wondered in and ended up having the most amazing selection of courses. It was more like a a Michelin star restaurant than a pub. Would recommend the tuna steak and the mussels

My family and I loved this place. It is warm and inviting. The food is great and the space has such a wonderful pub feel. We loved the mussels and the cheese board. The gin and tonic was beyond...

Was lucky enough to be about when this place opened, what lovely lovely people. So looking forward to visiting again in September, oh and they pour a mean vodka too !

Had a delicious fish pie and salad seated outside in the sun in the heart of Brighton to the accompaniment of musicians close to us. vVery good attentive staff and the charming, helpful owner attended to our every need. Highly recommended.

I came here with 3 friends on a trip from London. We stopped because there was outdoor seating and a great atmosphere with a guitar player outside. The service was wondsrful! The gentleman who waited on us was so kind, entertaining, and really knew what he was talking about. He explained the food options with such great detail, we wanted everything on the menu.

The food was great, so flavoursome and well priced. Staff were really friendly and amicable. We had the fish sharing platter and for a light bite i cannot recommend it enough!

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch and stumbled upon The Fisherman’s. a great atmosphere sat outside with live background music. The food was excellent and well presented. Service is what helps make a venue and we were served by Sebastian who was very attentive and a great asset to The Fisherman’s. when we visit Brighton again will definitely be back.

We accidently stumbled on this place whilst on our way to another booking funnily enough, so stopped for a drink and had a look at the menu... The next day we came back and really weren't disappointed!!

After looking for somewhere to eat with 2 children on a friday night in Brighton that wasnt a chain we stumbled across the Fisherman. What a fantastic find this was!!! Outstanding customer service really friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The food itself was ace too we loved the halloumi fries and mussels just great!! We would love to come back and definitely one on the list.

This place is made totally amazing by the wonderful staff who are friendly, welcoming, engaging and extremely helpful. The food and atmosphere was wonderful, but the staff totally add an extra dimension and personality to the place that will mean i will definitely be return with my Daughter Grace on our next trip to Brighton!

Me, my husband our 2 year old daughter and our 2 year old Labrador visited here on a Sunday we sat outside and had such a lovely meal the fish dishes were all amazing we had a mixed selection and the chicken wings were the best I have ever had! The staff were so lovely and made us all feel very welcome and well looked after, the whole place had a very up beat cheerful atmosphere. We will be back soon. We have found a real gem in Brighton here and would recommend highly.

Nice Seafood Pub - Kitchen with reasonable price. Food was good, fresh and tasty. Worth a visit ex: Crab Ceasar Salad with anchovies etc.

The staff and management were so lovely that we turned our 'quick drink in the sun' to a lunch. They've turned a small space in to an beautiful restaurant so I will be returning soon for an evening meal with my partner.
