The Bevy in Brighton and Hove

Came for the West Ham match, locals were incredibly hospitable, offering us parking advice and even invited us onto their free bus shuttle to the stadium and back! Unbelievable kindness from the Brighton fans and it made our day brilliant despite our loss! Thank you guys 🙏🏼

Tonia and her Team prepared and provided a great spread for Debs' send-off. Nothing was any trouble and everyone remarked how good the food was. PS: Tonia's Potato Salad is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Was served by some Kelsey the other day and she was horrible muttered under her breath caused it to be a bad atmosphere had to leave not long after wards sorry but maybe Kelsey needs to be taught some customer service skills

The Bevy is the heart of the community, so friendly and welcoming. Good range of beers and spirits and cheap too :) Shall return for sure, thanks team Bevy.

Ofrecen un bufé encantador y variado junto con té y café. El personal no solo era muy servicial y respetuoso y muy amable. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Fuimos a la fiesta infantil de Halloween y honestamente fue una de las mejores noches que hemos tenido. Mi pequeña se lo pasó muy bien e incluso pude relajarme gracias al tipo de comunidad que había allí. No puedo hablar lo suficiente sobre este lugar. Hacen tanto por la comunidad que no se ve hecho lo suficientemente a menudo. El personal es increíble también!

Such a lovely environment staff are friendly and talkative definitely would recommend it's very family friendly loads of space for children to play

It's irresponsible to show your pub, which is not near another pub, as being open when that is a lie. Our group arrived and at the same time a group of 4 young girls arrived - all of us wasted our time. Totally irresponsible. How many people will be arriving at night, potentially left vulnerable.

Met son and family at this local pub around corner from their home. A good welcome by barman and the locals, all very friendly. My German cousin and myself had veggie and chicken burgers which were delicious and son and partner the specials. All excellent and good value and a venue I would recommend.

I visited this pub for the first time because it was hosting the Brighton Repair Cafe that day. I was welcomed by one of the joint owners as I came in through the front door and was made to feel at home straight away. Other customers were a mixture of old guys, some younger mums and singletons, and a few (well-behaved) children. The traditional well-stocked bar sells quality real ale at a good price - a pleasant surprise compared with Brighton city centre venues! (The Bevy's a free house.) Some squashy sofas and smart but homely table and chairs fill the main space giving it quite a cafe feel. The food menu's not too long - always a good sign! Off to the right is an area that can be shut off from the main space with sliding doors if wanted for a function or meeting. It also has a coffee and food counter selling homemade savoury and sweet snacks. Beyond is a covered outside terrace/smoking area. Throughout, lots of large windows make for a light and airy atmosphere. The loos are modern, maintained and clean - another pleasant surprise! A veg garden is in development at the back of the pub. And the surrounding area is residential and green. Yes, I'll be back and I recommend you try it too!

The Bevy has just opened after a re vamp during lockdown. It looks very nice. Lovely to hear they supported the local community during lockdown by delivering meals. Nice evening with lots of people outside but we opted to sit inside. Staff very welcoming, friendly & efficient. My friends & I chose off both the main menu and the specials board. Between us we had pasta, generous portion, cod with vegetables and a burger. All were excellent, absolutely no complaints about the food at all. Only 2 deserts, neither of which we fancied so we had coffees instead. While it is good the pub is dog friendly ( I like dogs) it was very off putting that a customer was allowed to let their dog off lead to wander around the pub. Several times it came to our table which was a bit annoying. Dogs should be kept on a lead and under control in public places. Well done to the chef, we will return!

Hard place to park at even if you have a Dart Match, when Brighton and Hove Albion are playing at home you are supposed to have a permit. It's a community Pub,don't know the rules on children being in a pub after 9o'clock, but young children still there at o'clock. Apparently the food is good.

I am really upset at the ridiculous claims in the Argus today.....The Bevy does soooo much to create a happy, safe and enjoyable experience for EVERY SINGLE human being that walks in......no matter, if u r old like me who has nobody, families, people who are struggling for something to eat, people who have nobody to attend their own funerals.....they are a simply amazing bunch of kind people who are incredible...Paul xx

Friendly, community minded and focused pub. You'll love what they do! They also have darts, pool, bar billiards and Toad in the Hole games, and always open to new players for their teams.

Lovely warm sunny day and ordered breakfast to eat alfresco. Our food was delivered to the wrong table and they didn't say it was wrong to the server so it sat there for a while until the server realised his mistake. Then he passed it on to us. The fried egg yolk was broken and cooked solid. I asked for a fresh egg and when it arrived it was just plonked down on the table without any comment or apology for it being not right in the first place. I do like to dip my sausage and bacon in the egg yolk! The food was tasty enough but by that time they had let themselves down so badly on the service. Shame really. Could have been excellent with a little care and attention.

My dad and I noticed this place as we were passing in George Street and we decided to give it a go and we loved it. The decor is simple but pleasant and comfortable. We were greeted and served by the manager Titu, who was a wonderful host. Friendly, polite and quick with our food. He was very kind to us and even threw in a free nan when we quickly finished the first one. I tried the Chicken Balti and I think my Dad had the Chicken Korai. The food was fantastic, succulent and tasty. We were served poppadoms to start and 4 dips which were very pleasant too. We will definitely being going back there and will get takeaway from them too. They also do home delivery which is handy. It's only been open a few weeks so I highly recommend you check this place out as its new but hidden gem.

The bacon roll was ok, but the bacon has been pre-cooked so luke warm when added to the roll. Meal deal at £3.79 with coffee. Ketchup or other condiments an extra 29p - really surely it could be included in the main price.

Went too a charity darts comp up the bevy on Tuesday had a good laugh and was well looked after by the staff hope they do another one

Good local pub, staff are super friendly, there's sitting both inside and outside with heaters available. They do food but I've not had any yet so can't say if it's good, looks good though! And drinks are cheap which is great :)

It was world cup night so the place was heaving and noisy. Still, sitting outside we managed to have a civilised conversation! Lovely atmosphere of a community pub.

Absolutely lovely pub with the warmest and nicest staff, came here after a walk on the downs met with a brilliant roast. Good selection of beers and ciders on tap.

I don't live in the area but visited my son at uni. This pub is so much more its a community for the locals and provides so much in the way of a centre. We visited sadly when the kitchen was just opening so it was v slow but hopefully next time it will be better. The staff were so caring and even provided water and dog biscuits for our dogs thank you

I decided to pop in for a quick quiet pint and there was a small group in the bar area being very loud in respect of having a quick quiet pint it was not. So decided to sit near the outside which was the other end of the pub but I could still hear the group and one person who had a extremely loud voice I could still hear from where I was sitting so my quick quiet pint it was not so decided to drink up and leave. Maybe I'll try again at some point in time. I would also like to ad to this review a warning to enyone who is not young and is a student as Saturday nights entertainment is aimed at the students who live in the area as the live music I've recently been made aware of is definitely not for older people who want to venture out in the bevy on a Saturday night. So not entertainment for the community more for students.

Just perfect for breakfast after parkrun... Nothing fancy but good value for money and a nice relaxed community ambiance. My first 'pub' experience since March 2020.

Love it here. Staff are great as the food and the space. The new outside area is outstanding. I highly recommend!!

Had a wonderful reunion with friends in a convivial atmosphere and a beautiful sunday roast - nice veggie options too. The staff were lovely and gave me some of their delicious horseradish to take home! Will definitely return, asap.

This pub is owned by the community and the people who run it have done an excellent job in supporting that community — delivering meals to those in need during the pandemic, for instance, as well as serving good and sensibly-priced beer and food in a cheery, busy, friendly atmosphere.

El Bevy acaba de abrir después de una renovación durante el cierre. Se ve muy bien. Encantado de escuchar que apoyaron a la comunidad local durante el encierro entregando comidas. Bonita noche con mucha gente afuera, pero optamos por sentarnos adentro. Personal muy acogedor, amable y eficiente. Mis amigos y yo elegimos tanto el menú principal como el tablero de ofertas especiales. Entre nosotros comimos pasta, ración generosa, bacalao con verduras y una hamburguesa. Todos fueron excelentes, absolutamente ninguna queja sobre la comida. Solo 2 postres, ninguno de los cuales nos apetecía, así que tomamos cafés. Si bien es bueno, el pub admite perros (me gustan los perros), fue muy desagradable que a un cliente se le permitiera dejar a su perro sin correa para pasear por el pub. Varias veces llegó a nuestra mesa, lo cual fue un poco molesto. Los perros deben mantenerse con correa y bajo control en lugares públicos. Enhorabuena al chef, ¡volveremos!

What a lovely experience, friendly accomodating staff , homely feel and the food was really high standard ...not what I was expecting for a little local community pub! The Italian chef made really great food and so bloomin cheap. My friend had the fish dish which was nicely cooked and perfectly fried and I had the beef nachos which was really fresh and came with a gorgeous salad, not your typical basic salad but restaurant quality with lots of flavour. Will definately be returning and as a local, very happy to have found such a gem on my doorstep.

A delightful find with dog friendly publicans and garden parking and reasonable priced drinks. Lovely sunny day but one criticism where staff coming out with food to customers and returning without clearing tables and ignoring glasses plates with left over food attracting seagulls. But a nice place! Kids a bit loud but that’s kids for you
