There's a reason.its called the first and last inn. Your first time in will be your last. Disappointing, sad looking, overpriced slop that gave two of our table upset stomachs (one violently so) and some of the side dishes appeared to be half eaten already. Ruined a nice weekend break to see friends, if I'm down there again I'm going to slap the "chef"

Lovely pub, was very busy when we went but the food was above and beyond what we expected for a roast, It was incredible although I ordered a side of cauliflower cheese and I got enough for four! Haha but I'll never complain about over feeding At £15 for a huge roast I'd say it's ideal

We were here this afternoon. It's a lovely old pub. The young man behind the bar gave us a very friendly welcome. We had two ales and ordered something to eat. My wife had jacket potato with chicken and bacon, I had fish and chips. The food was very good, in fact it was the best fish and chips so far on the trip. Fresh fish fillet (no bones!) and crispy chips. The fish came with a tartar sauce, very flavourful. My compliments to the chef. It was a very pleasant stay.

I'm not surprised the place was pretty empty given the prices. They have gone up a lot since my last visit earlier this year. £6.50 for a pint of Guinness (a 12% increase on the price in January). £18 for a burger. I'd expect to see these prices in London, not a pub in a small village in rural England. I probably wouldn't return while the prices are overinflated.

What a little gem!! We went here after quite a trudge along the coast path from Lands End after spotting it on the journey in!! We did rock up a little late but they were more than happy to provide us with some very delicious fare, I had ham, egg & chips and it wasn't so much ham, more like gammon because it was sliced so thickly!! So typically Cornish portions combined with a typically Cornish welcome. Overall very impressive, I can thoroughly recommend!!

Very grateful to be able to just turn up and get a table. Staff were friendly. Food (burgers, fish and chips, scampi) was reasonable but some items (peas/mushy peas) were tepid and although staff replaced, they were just as cold. Disappointed with the side of onion rings, which were similar to frozen ones you get from Tesco. Would I recommend?. Not sure… not great value for money but popular area so maybe this is normal.

So let us share our experience, We went in tonight as a family after seeing that it home made food on the drive to sennen and looked online and had a good look at the food available on the menu also looking to see if it was dog friendly and it ticked all the boxes, Upon arrival me and my wife went in 1st to ask if we could have a table for food and if dogs can go inside and staff were a little unsure but they confirmed we could upon asking for a table for 7 but one in a pram he said we don’t have the availability to cater I was looking at a table big enough and eventually said that this table was available whilst being seated we had 2 table one clean and the 2nd just been finished with so needed a clean but he came and cleaned both tables and he squirted the cleaner on a clean table and the over spray bounced off the table and went over our selfs then we were handed a menu freshly printed A4 paper thrown on the table (WET TABLE) so they stuck to the table upon agreeing what we wanted we went to the bar within 2-3 mins of being seated we knew what we wanted and when we asked for the meal it was OUT OF STOCK (Sunday lunch) ok fair so as I was with a family member at the bar I quickly rushed back to the table to ask my daughter of an alternative she wasn’t happy, So I made a meal up of all the extras on the menu so I went back to the bar to find my family member ordered 2 fish and chips then I realised my wife also wanted Sunday lunch so I quickly rushed back to ask her what she wanted and went back to the bar just as my family member left and asked for fish and chips was also sold out also! 99% of the menu was SOLD OUT this should of been discussed upon arrival not as we were ordering I run and operate my own business and this isn’t how I would treat my customers this isn’t how an establishment should be ran! Even when I was standing trying to order a member of staff was standing there arm against the wall doing nothing while customers are standing waiting to be served! So we decided not to eat and my family member went back to the bar to ask for a refund as we couldn’t eat as a family and the staff were iffy about offering a refund but 10 minutes later they did refund my family member as it became a scene for other people as they could see what had happened! This establishment should be call the 1st and late time you come here! We ended up walking to the chip shop down the road for food we are very disappointed in this company and establishment! For anyone who wants to eat please make sure they HAVE STOCK how can this establishment run without stock? Never again tonight they lost over £200 revenue due to this situation!

Our dining experience was deeply disappointing from the start. We were handed glasses that were appallingly unhygienic—one was smeared with oily fingerprints and had some kind of hair on the rim, while the other had red lipstick stains that were impossible to miss. It’s baffling how the staff overlooked such glaring hygiene issues. When the food finally arrived, it was barely edible. We ordered the seafood linguine and chicken wings, both of which were shockingly subpar. The linguine was overcooked to a mushy consistency, devoid of any flavor whatsoever. We had to add salt ourselves just to coax out some semblance of taste. The seafood was clearly frozen and poorly prepared—the fish was so dry it resembled soggy cardboard, and the mussels were utterly flavorless, reduced to rubbery, chewy bits. The chicken wings were equally disappointing—the most dismal I’ve ever encountered. We resorted to using the Heinz barbecue sauce from the table just to make them palatable. This experience was a complete letdown, marred by careless hygiene practices and utterly tasteless food. I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a decent meal.

For the bunless First and Last Burger, I will say the portions are too small for a hiker and the Potato fries may be suitable for mass patrons but not for me, However, the Halloumi Chips were given a great kick aas aftermeal which is slightly on low carb diet friendly but not keto friendly. It is still worth for a try in once on a lifetime. I also will suggest replacing house salad or Halloumi Chips instead of Chips instead.

You would eat well here. Since the kitchen is apparently overwhelmed, only guests who have reserved in advance are served. This is very strange because there were still free places. The staff didn't make any effort and we were turned away quite unfriendly. There weren't even any drinks to drink outside in the sunshine. That's a no go for such a really great company! I’m not up sure I was expecting much given this is literally the only pub (from what I could work out) near the very over rated tourist area of lands end. I fully expected it to be over run with tourists and us being rushed in and out. That was not the case on the two occasions we visited here. We had lunch both times and while on the first attempt they were out of a lot of menu items, the second time we went was for Sunday lunch and I have to say, it is one of the best pub Sunday lunches we’ve had in a long time. Sub-average pub and food. I cannot recommend. They fry even the patty of the veggie burger which then was an unrecognizable and untastable brick of not-meat. The fries were OK. The normal burger was OK but nothing special about it. They don't trust their guests because outside you don't get a glass for your pint. The atmosphere wasn't bad, however I noticed that there was little care about customers. It was our first time in Cornwall and we had no idea that in many restaurants you have to place your order at the counter; so we waited for a long time at our table before realizing that we had to order at the counter. Food wasn't bad, I'd say average. The very good thing is that there were many gluten free options (bun included!!) and this was great for me, since I am celiac. I tried a vegetarian hamburger (it had a strong flavor), coleslaw (very yummy) and fried potatoes. I also tried gluten free garlic bread and this wasn't bad. This place is a comfortable place for a meal in the "middle of nowhere".
