Best Western Hotel Bristol in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

The Hotel Bristol is a friendly and lovely place to stay. Staff are so helpful and on top of the job. Such a shame its going to be lost.

Nice sized clean room. Shower pressure was nonexistent, unless you had it up full heat, which was way too hot. That's the reason for 4 starts and not 5. Staff were all very helpful. Amazing views from the sea view room we had. Breakfast was delicious. Poached eggs were perfect. Would stay here again if it wasn't closing down.

The room was clean which is my main priority staying anywhere. I don't really understand why our room wasn't serviced after the first night. Breakfast staff & reception friendly. Breakfast food good

Place was absolutley lovely, great helpful staff and and good sized carpark with absolutley exceptional manners. Breakfast was absolutley delicious and the family seaside view room was huge!! Only came for the night but definatley recommend and will be returning. Only thing i will mention is the elevator is a bit small as could only get one person in with the pushchair while the other carried the luggage upstairs. But overall a great place. 👍

Great lovely hotel staff were amazing, hotel a bit dated but still clean and comfortable. Shame its closing down on 30th September.

Honeymoon holiday sad to say 2 nd worst hotel we have stayed in room loose toilet flush could not shower as shower far too small to wash in room tired and very very dated bed twin put together very uncomfortable you only pay price of room breakfast was £12.95 each never had hotel where you pay extra for breakfast are elsewhere for far cheaper unlimited tea and coffee in with price of breakfast go to wetherspoons well done to them car park not free if you don't book direct with them had to pay £30 for four days not happy about that at all told them they was not bothered about keeping guests happy about this hallways smelt old and musty smelling the lift well says for 6 people could hardly fit two people in it was so small had to stand as far back as we could otherwise doors to lift would not close properly dangerous room was not cleaned for our four days there made bed ourselves cleaned room each day as best we could had to ask for clean towels otherwise they don't replace them won't be coming back maintenance men stood talking to reception instead they could be giving it a lick of paint maybe to brighten place up never do we leave bad reviews but there was not much to rate highly here only good point cleaners you passed by were very polite this hotel needs complete overhaul the desk in our room had lack of veneer on it as it was so old will be returning to Newquay but not here should be refunded parking money for parking it's either free for all guests or all guests should pay for parking management need to sort this hotel out with immediate effect

Location is amazing, staff are great, friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. the rooms themselves are pretty dated. Creaky floors, low pressure showers, spring mattresses where u can actually feel the springs. U can hear people talking in the above rooms too. Its like travelodge rooms in marriott prices.

One of the oldest, traditional hotels in Newquay. I always stay in a B&B and only go there for dinner. Delicious menu selection at good prices and away from the big tourist crowds. It was recently bought by an investor and will probably be demolished, much to my regret.

My room location was great next to beach. Room was spacious for two kids and two adults offering one double bed, two single beds. Need some renovations. Morning breakfast was average. Staff was busy all the time. Miss Alisha (receptionist) was very friendly, professionally sound. Experienced in her work. Always smile on the face. Everything is near to the hotel like Tesco express, McDonald, Maharaja Restaurant, Pizza Express, ALDI etc. Location is perfect.

It’s not close to the center but there is a bus stop in front of the hotel so it’s quite convenient for business travelers I didn’t have breakfast there so no experience to share. Overall, the room is quite clean and cozy, and the water heater is hot enough.

Stayed here for 2 nights as is close to son's wedding venue. Service was respectful at all levels. Breakfast was up to expected standard. Would go again.

Pointless lift, as lots of stairs. You have to pay for expensive prices for parking despite the expensive per night stay. Staff aren't exactly the most helpful either.

We had the feeling of living in a dovecote, only cooing and scratching. Unfortunately there was no sound from the seagulls. The view in the family room was great.

Just a wonderful place to stay,excellent art decor o the ground floor and restaurant area,lots of brass which we like,our room was very large and spacious with a fantastic view of the bay,breakfast was great with an extensive choice from cereal to continental to full English and plenty of options for drinks,a very good car park at the rear which is great,we found the staff very friendly and helpful and also fun,one of the best stays we've had over the past 20 years,thoroughly recommended

Shame to leave a review as the place will close in August to be demolished. It was once elegant with art-deco features and a strange configuration that meant that the floors spiralled to the top of the hotel. The dining room could have held banquets and the bar was sizeable. However, the hotel had missed out on investment and the rooms were dated and missing obvious modern facilities. If you could stand a 70's bathroom and no electrical outlets near the bed then the large rooms were more than acceptable. The meals in the hotel were good value and the breakfasts were buffet so you couldn't complain about quantity and the quality was plenty good enough. Oh well, that is one less unique hotel in Newquay. It may not have been perfect but the views from the sea facing rooms were great.

A lovely heritage hotel. Spotlessly clean and oozing old world service and charm. So sorry to gear it may be demolished foe high rise apartments. Visit it while you can!

We had a beautiful seaview room from where we could hear the sound of waves and watch the sunset. The market area is quite close to the hotel and you can visit the beach and take a coastal walk just after crossing the road. What we didn't like was that they don't provide value for money, except the view. They don't provide housekeeping services on a daily basis, the furnishing in rooms look outdated, they didn't fill the shower gel bottle before handing over the room, and they had put dirty carpets in the rooms. I think the hotel needs renovation and it should provide services as per their charges.

I recently stayed at the Best Western Hotel Bristol in Newquay and had a fantastic experience. The location was great, just a short walk from the town centre and the beaches. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, with modern amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the facilities, including the indoor pool and restaurant, were excellent. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Newquay.

Great hotel. I stay in many hotels for work, but this was for pleasure, and I can say that's it's been absolutely amazing. The staff have been on point, the room was nice, although paying a little extra for a seaview was well worth it.

We booked for two nights. Unbeknown to us we arrived on the first day of opening as the hotel had been shut for several months during the winter period. The swimming pool was closed as they had not prepared it and warmed it up. The sauna was now non operational. The room whilst a good size and had a great sea view was very dated. The radiators did not work on our floor so the hotel had placed an electric plug in fire which didn’t really warm up the room. We did ask for an additional radiator which they promptly supplied. Overall felt quite disappointed, the pictures online depict a nice hotel and nice rooms, if felt like we had arrived at a completely different hotel.

We had a few nights away in Cornwall we chose this hotel for its location and its price was in our range. Room was lovely comfortable & clean we didn't have a sea view but that was our choice as to keep the price lower. The staff were very welcoming/polite & helpful. We will definitely be returning & would definitely recommend to anyone 👌

Not up to Best Western standards. Booked as considered 'safe' with this chain.. but not unfortunately the case. Our room was very dated. Rooms only changed every 3 days.. which apparently is industry standard now according to them and is.. again.. according to them in terms of booking. I do believe it's in the terms... I don't however feel it's highlighted as much as it should be. Staying 3 nights our room wasn't cleaned at all. We stayed at a Best Western in Chester in April and this wasn't the case. Had this hotel been cheaper it would have been more acceptable and they seemed to do well off functions/offers.. So if you get this on an offer... Go! If you don't.. you will be disappointed... So don't bother. The location is great and the bar/reception staff are lovely... when they are available. But 2 out of 3 of our nights we couldn't actually eat in the hotel. Not great in Newquay in the pouring rain. Just generally disappointed and when my boyfriend discussed our issues with the manager he was disappointed with her response. If you want a couply break there are much nicer hotels for the same money.

No room service, during 5 night stay the room has been made only once due to "ecological" reasons... Breakfast not included is £12 per person and parking is £5per night. When windy the room are cold ...

Hotel was in an amazing location hence why I booked here. I was travelling with 2 young children with special needs and arrived around 10am due to flying in, despite this we were not able to check it until 4pm which made for a very chaotic first day. The rooms are very basic and I was not a fan of the windows which opened upwards it was difficult keeping children away from them despite being in a family room. The hotel was very noisy through the night and there were people smoking drugs a few doors away from our room. The walls were very thin I coupd hear the room next door on the toilet.. probably wouldn't stay here again despite its location

I really liked the hotel. My room was still very warm in the evening due to the high outside temperature of +30 degrees. Otherwise everything was very good.

Disappointed with visit this time as previously much better. Room above noisy bins, fire alarm at 1.50 am with zero organisation communication or cares given. Lovely quaint establishment though and such a shame its being knocked down.

Popped in for a drink with hubby...it is a very tired old place...but lovely views over the bay...hear its being knocked down to make way for a housing development...not that locals can afford anyway!!!

Checked in with my 14yr daughter on Friday to the Hotel for a 2 night stay. A friendly welcome from the reception staff, Was issued with a room. Would have prefer a Seaview room but got the car park instead. Room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Breakfast was good and hot and a very good selection, first day I got coffee, second day got ignored by the waiting staff. The hotel bar is expensive and £5 for a pint of Rattler is a bit extortionate to be fair. The Swimming pool was great, also clean and tidy and heated. We also had free parking which in Newquay is a benefit. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Bristol and would stay again..

A great place to stay good food very friendly staff, very nice disabled toilets, very wheelchair friendly and fantastic views well worth a visit.

I only visited for a drink in the bar. While the barman was very pleasant and welcoming, the general service was quite poor...2 staff members taking almost 5 minutes to sort out a drinks order? Apparently the 2 ladies were NOT bar staff...so apologies for that. The receptionists were very helpful. Large lounge with full width windows letting in plenty of natural light.

Looking for a hotel that was dog friendly in Newquay and found here. We opted for a Seaview room which had a double and a single bed in it. They provided a blanket,towel and bowl for the dogs at £10 per dog. They have one small lift which we had to use for the dogs as we were on the first floor. You can park your car at the rear of the hotel. There's a park opposite and a beach which you can't take dogs on so had to walk to the next one along. Found it a little on the pricey,but it suited our needs.

Stayed here for a few weeks for business around a year or so ago. Small rooms but the location was great and the food for breakfast in the dining room and the restaurant was great. The internet was borderline unusable at times and I couldn't do much besides basic email so if you need to do video calls, you'll have to tether your phone or wait.

Great location, friendly staff, decent food and facilities. All let down by the room. Two small single beds pushed together to make a double, both with mattresses so old I could feel the springs and looks like it's not been updated since 1985.

The best Western Bristol Hotel we went in February this year for my lovely wife Jeanette brithday & all the staff are very nice at this very nice hotel & we had a see views of Newquay beach ⛱ 🙂🙂 from mark & Jeanette & the meals are so nice here as well

The people working here are simply lovely. Helpful, friendly, welcoming. Great breakfast. The hotel is clean, tidy but tired in places. Great value though. I'll be back soon.

A Scottish Country Dancing weekend. We have been before, many times excepting the last two years!

I have stayed at the Best Western in Newquay since Wednesday evening. I have loved every moment. The staff are professional and knowledgeable, whilst being friendly too. I have already booked a return in April.

Fantastic hotel, staff, room, food, pool and generally a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely stay again. Fresh and clean bedroom. Warm and very comfortable. Lovely hot water. Excellent customer service. Great vibe. Don't stay anywhere else when you visit Newquay!

Had a Ying Yang experience in knot therapy today, neck back and shoulders massage and facial. This is a really professional clinic, Maria a amazing therapist floated out of there, stress gone really relaxing. I can highly recommend this place 👍

Generally a well kept hotel. Clean, nicely decorated but not out of keeping with the building. Staff were excellent, accommodating and friendly. We didn't use the pool so can't say anything about that but judging by the rest of the hotel I am sure is was just fine. The food was, I thought fantastic. Good portions, and for once I was not sad that I am gluten free. The options were fab and delicious.

Overall OK. However the reception area is looking very tired, the bedroom just about passed, the bathroom was not too good, yellow basin, white toilet and very average shower. Staff very pleasant,especially the lady serving breakfast. Needs updating.

Lovely hotel, stayed there 4 nights,its right on the sea front, good car park, the room was warm, hot water for bath n shower, spotlessly clean. The staff werr friendly, and very helpful. Breakfast shouldn't be missed, plenty of gluten free options food wise. Attended a function there gluten free dinner and the gluten free buffets was the best gluten free I have tasted in 37 years of a gluten free diet. Take up the opportunity of having their gluten free scone it id a delight mot to be missed. I had 3 .They all tasted and were the texture of a real scone (not like the solid supermarket ones) . I felt very covid safe lots of processes in plsce from check in . Lots of hand gel available around the bathrooms & communal areas, sraff wearing masks. I used the pool warm small but deep enough for a good swim or fsmily fun time. I have bookec to return next year ,vowing to work my way through the cocktail menu.
