Third time I have been here and every time been horrible, wait 10 mins for cold reheated chips with no taste. Fish is ok but not worth the wait

Absolutely terrible food. Fish not fresh and well over cooked. Chips awful. Will definitely not use ever again. 25 min wait for food also in shop when no customers are there is terrible. Save your money and time go to bure park chippy instead 10x better

The chips were the worst I have ever eaten. The chips tasted like reheated chips from the day before.

This chippy used to be amazing when it first opened! Couldn’t fault it! Sadly, I moved away but when I found myself in Bicester one evening I thought, brilliant! I’ll go get me some of those delicious large chips from Finest Catch. WOW! What happened? Disappointment doesn’t quite cover it! I only ordered chips, thankfully! Dry and brittle absolutely nothing like they used to be! So disappointing! Has this place changed hands? The whole place is dreary! Virtually no drinks in chiller, the place looks downright miserable! What happened? It’s such a shame! Won’t be back that’s for sure!

Ordered online for specific collection time. So assumed the food was cooked to order. However when we got it home it was all dry and hard like it had been sitting in the warmer for ages. Very disappointing!

Why why why,? When they have no Haddock on a Saturday early evening, you expect the worse!!! They did not disappoint! Awful, awful, awful, and it was cooked to order! Another sign that I ignored! 20 quid for 2 haddock er erm I mean cod and chips that were hellacious at best. Fish was dry as a bone (signs of best sell by) batter very thin and under whelming. Batter should be thick, golden brown and crispy. Chips like bricks with eyes and lots of streaks of black as potatoes were old. Also undercooked just to compound the issue! Lots of staff basically hanging about, looking at phones and sat down chatting. Whoever owns this place needs to have a word with themselves. Great location, what a waste, and barberry chippy at bure park needs stiff competition as they own bicester with their chippy. Total rip off and no care whatsoever , a disgrace to chip shops. Go up north and take lessons!! As for me I'll go back to bure park and queue like everyone else. Never will I return. I'm off for a sarnie as that crap has gone in the bin.

Only ordered as usual chippie (Barberry on Bure Farm) was having payment issues….wish I hadn’t bothered. I know it was a traditional fish and chip day Friday so may have been busy, but to wait 2 hours for a delivery that was underwhelming in both quality and quantity was shocking…..no apology from the delivery man, or the shop when I phoned for updates, and they had the nerve to charge £4 for the delivery- shan’t bother again

As a regular at Barberry chip shop, for some reason i thought i’d give this place a go. Really wish i hadn’t. really poor service. Waited over 20 minutes for food, and it wasn’t at all busy. (The guy before requested a refund because it took so long). 5 staff all spending a little too much time doing not a lot. Got home too average fish and chips - but cold curry sauce! Sorry to have strayed Barberry - it definitely won’t happen again.

I had my order delivered. They were right on time, the food was hot and everything was delicious. No issues whatsoever.

I ordered food and never received it, I rang the store multiple times asking for a refund which they responded with “I’ll get my manager to ring you “ I never once received a phone call.. not helpful at all . Still no refund.

Was supposed to collect at 18.30, not ready until 18.50. Was a waste of time ordering ahead. No communication from staff at counter, no apology! Shame, as the fish was first rate. Will not be returning anytime soon.

Staff are rude and uninterested. Like a bunch of teenagers with attitude. They also don’t sell pies. Did not pack me of our meals so had to return for it, not a hint of a sorry. Foods good and should be at the prices they charge. Will not return

When this opened it was really nice… however it’s gone downhill. Miserable staff for a start, long wait. Now the food, I’ve given it chances but last night the portion size was awful, hardly any chips and they weren’t even that warm. The fish - ok the actual fish was ok however the batter was just soggy and swimming in grease. Last time I go here! It’s a shame, but also I feel the atmosphere is weird in there too and for what you pay too!

Tried the new chippy in Bicester yesterday and it was great. Fresh Fish lovely and crispy, chips tasty and not greasy and no unpleasant after taste from the oil. Staff were all really friendly and there was a queue which is always a good sign. Will definitely go back.

We have had excellent fish and chips, numerous times over the last year, however todays experience was very different and I got the feeling something had changed, from the moment I walked in. Firstly the fish did not have the taste, look and texture of haddock… it was more like whiting. And the batter was leathery and tasteless, not the light crispy coating we absolutely love. The chips were not hot, and the mushy peas were luke warm and runny. I work in hospitality and consistency is key to any business. We won’t be coming back, as it was terrible.

There was an issue with our order on Saturday evening- however the finest catch went above and beyond to recompense and we have just had the most wonderful fish and chips! Very friendly staff and fantastic food!
