Kosmos Greek Grill in Cherwell

Im forced to leave 1 star so I can post this review. I ordered food, whilst waiting, I see the sever picking his teeth with a wooden pick (or similar). Then, proceeded to prepare my food without washing their hands. I asked for a refund, and it was given. However, as there is no way of contacting the business, this is the only way I can leave feedback.

Disgusted with my order on Monday it wasn’t fresh salad soggy and chips stale not fresh, meat tasted horrible and I found cardboard in my meat which put me off completely won’t be ordering again

Very tasty food and great value. Definitely not your average kekab takeaway. Always seems very clean and organised in there and the food is outstanding for the prices.

Only slight negative on food is chips are a little bit soggy, but as it was delivery that's to be expected. Really good value for the amount and quality of food I got. Rang Kosmos after ordering and they were brilliant about changing my order even though they had started preparing it.

Disappointed frankly. Ordered via Deliveroo, advised 50 minutes delivery. Perfect, just enough time to get home from work. The order took over 90 minutes!!! We called the shop to find out what had happened. It was impossible to understand the first person on the phone, the second person said the driver had gone to our house but no one was in, and he had followed the Google map. I said he'd gone to the wrong house, apparently still our fault?? On my order I had put a correct postcode, and delivery instructions. The driver ignored all of this, but apparently our fault for not living at the empty property the driver went to 🤦🏼‍♀️ Surly, unhelpful owners. Poor quality of produce, lacking any kind of customer service. Do not recommend

Just ordered tonight's dinner through deliveroo, it was fantastic. Arrived earlier than expected (we ordered around 6pm on a Friday), hot food, no sogginess from being transported, as if it was fresh from the grill. We got a lamb yeeros, a chicken yerros box, and aubergine side. All highly recommended. The box is probably enough for 2 with sides. Highly recommend.

I had set out to find something akin to authentic Greek food. I had walked past many kebab shops which didn't appeal, before deciding on Kosmos. I ordered a mixed beef and lamb kebab, served in a wrap with chips like Gyros. The food was full of flavour and plentiful and very reasonably priced. Would recommend.

I went in to this place and ordered food. We are vegetarian and my daughter was eating her food and found a big lump of chicken in her chips. I went up to the staff and told him and he barely apologised and then made another portion of chips, I opened the bag and decided to check them and I almost couldn’t believe it but there was still chicken in it. I lost my temper and asked for a refund and all he offered was the £3.50 for the chips. If it was my establishment I would have refunded the whole meal but this absolute disgrace of a restaurant compensated me £3.50 after messing up TWICE! What an absolute joke. Staff have no idea what they are doing. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU ARE VEGAN OR VEGETARIAN AS THE STAFF ARE NOT TRAINED IN CROSS CONTAMINATION! A BASIC HEALTH AND HYGIENE TEST IS NEEDED HERE. Someone needs to contact EHO! Disgusting!

First time tried greek food being an Indian. Ordered halloumi wrap, mix yeeros wrap and chicken skewer wrap. I was having mixed reaction how the food is going to taste. Mix yeeros are love. Must try place. Would love to visit again. Chicken was perfectly cooked. Staff was also cooperative. Explained everything in a nice way. Must try in banbury.

Collected a meal and there was plenty for two and reminded us of Greece ❤️

Food is extremely delicious. Usually go for the mixed skepaste. Huge portion. I go there very frequently now.

Came in last night after standing at the counter for around 10 minutes trying to order what I wanted while the owners were stood on the otherside of the counter speaking to a delivery driver they were very dismissive as they could see me there waiting and I also tried getting their attention quite a few times however was being ignored this was my first and last time coming to this restaurant as the service was absolutely appalling and the food didn't have alternative options and a variety of sauses.

Very disappointing. We ordered a Halloumi wrap (flavourless and tasteless) and Lamb skewer wrap which was basically a chip butty with 4 pieces of lamb smothered in unpleasant sauce. Definitely first and last time, save your money and cross the square to the Market Kebab House. Just thought we'd try something new, big mistake. Half of it went straight into the compister. Going to put some toast on 😁

Stopped here for lunch Food fine and reasonable but they are missing a trick- presentation not great, nor consistent and accompanied by club music. More of a takeaway masquerading as a restaurant. Smallish menu but great selection.

Ordered food Sunday evening and it never arrived despite them marking it so on the deliveroo app. I called and the staff were disgustingly rude. If you can't take orders don't advertise as being open.

A tragedy, I have never eaten worse food. It has nothing to do with Greek. I recommend avoiding it

After trying many take away in Banbury (and always failing) we decided to choose this Greek restaurant. Due to the heavy rain, we could not go there so ordered to take away. The first run was ok on wet but on the second we did get the max of the inters. However, by the time we arrived in Q3 both the guys mastered the conditions and we had an amazing dinner, best of the 2022 so far Thanks Kosmos will be back at the next round for sure

Used to be a fantastic takeaway, friendly service, gorgeous food, but since take over food has gone downhill, portion sizes hugely decreased they just fill it up with chips and stringy meat. And to top it off you order delivery and don't get your food AT ALL as they state it was for collection but it was as delivery online. Basically take your money and give you fck all. Will not be using again. A real shame considering how good they were!!!!

Kosmos is new but the owner and chef has previously run a superb Greek restaurant in Banbury. I love their mixed Gyros. 10/10

The pite today was uncooked, there was no tomato inside the souvlaki. Gyros chicken was uncooked.

Visited here for a quick bite and was not disappointed. I had the chicken gyro with added halloumi and it was perfect, my niece had just the halloumi gyro and she loved it too! The staff were lovely and welcoming Will definitely be going back!

Really good fresh food, I have had takeaway before however I ate in the restaurant today and was brilliant. The boar sausage is unreal and for £10 is really good. In any other place in Banbury you would pay atleast £20 for food of that quality. Recommend

Before this place closed down it was our favourite takeaway! Ordered a takeaway this evening now it’s opened again, it took almost 2 hours to arrive and got my partners order wrong. By this point it was too late for them to make another as they’d just closed so he didn’t have dinner and just got a refund instead, and by the time mine arrived it was lovely but cold. Shame really! It’s really lovely food, but just not the service we was after.

Basic modern style facilities on a prominent Market Place position. Excellent freshly prepared food at a reasonable price. A bonus was a good selection of Greek beers including a few craft beers. A good addition to the Banbury offering.

Possibly the best Greek kebab- Kyros I've had since going to Crete, was very good everything tasted fresh, everything within restaurant was spotless and the price was as cheap as there chips

Order delivered to incorrect address.....very fast in resending a replacement order out even tho it was end of the night. Amazing taste and freshness will continue to use kosmos 5 stars not enough.

Extremely tasty food! The 'halloumi wrap' and 'hand cut fries with parmesan' is worth trying. The delivery was super quick too!

I went to kosmos with my grandad and we loved it. The food was excellent however a bit slow when it came to the dessert. I asked for a yoghurt and granola and it took 20 mins to come to the table. Other then that there was excellent service, staff are really friendly and the food was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

Ordered the pork gyros box. Absolutely delicious, however the pork could use some more spices. Will order again.

Lovely food and really good customer service - something went wrong somewhere along the line and our food was very late, but the restaurant handled it really well (sent us a new order so we had hot food, and refunded us in full). Would not hesitate to order from here again, very impressed.

Absolutely fantastic food. It's like real Greek gyros etc. Pita is soft and they sell Mythos and Keo too, prices also are are fantastic. Couldn't be more perfect.

Very pleasant staff. Excellent food. They have recently introduced a couple of vegetarian and vegan options. We had a very drinkable, although a bit expensive, red wine. Very reasonable price for a lovely meal

The Kebab which is sausage (not stated) was rubbery and tasteless (cheap meat) in the Kebab box and the Skewers box meat was barely warm. The chips were end of night chips reheated (awful). The service I received on the phone when calling was disgusting and I will never ever spend my money in there AGAIN!.

Fantastic food and the chef told us what all the different options are. Such Friendly staff and 2 kebab wraps for £11 was super good value for money we'll definitely be returning next time we are in Banbury

Very disappointed the food was average , had warm salad was expensive for what it was.

I ordered a boxed meal on Saturday evening at about 8.00pm with delivery an hour later. I think they must have made it immediately, it was cold when it arrived, I tried to call them but no answer, I then emailed them but 48 hours later have still not had a response. It’s a real shame, a simple acknowledgment / apology would have done. I was staying overnight in Banbury for one night only so it’s unlikely I will be a repeat customer

Ordered from Kosmos tonight for the first time and although we got the wrong order to start with the guys very quickly corrected it and re-delivered with a couple of extra deserts and an apology. Top class customer service. But most importantly the food was AMAZING! The burger was absolutely delicious and the portions generous too. Highly recommended and will definetely use again in the future!

Having had food from Kosmos a number of times since lockdown began, they are a firm favourite of the family. There really is something for everyone. The last time I ordered from them, there was a mislabelling on their website which resulted in my dairy free vegetarian wrap containing tzatziki, although after a quick call to them they profusely apologised and promptly delivered a corrected wrap - which was no small feat as I live about 30 mins away! Truly going above and beyond to help.

Popped here for lunch with my partner today after seeing the restaurant open a few weeks ago. We ordered Pork Yero box meal and a Piri Piri Poussin chicken with all the trimmings they come with. The food was superb and the staff very friendly....

Cold and disappointed I ordered here on recommendation and was looking forward to our meal, we ordered at 5-30 on Friday to collect at 6-20, we arrived to collect at 6.15. Food was all cold and dry, and we ordered skewers and had garlic bread...

Bought two wraps from Kosmos for lunch and they were really tasty. Tasted the same as the wraps that we had in Rhodes a few years ago. Highly recommended and will be buying food from there again.
