The Fifth Wheel Bar & Grill in Warrington

I have stayed here 3 times in the last 2 months ! Menu basic , always with fries , slightly over priced . This place could and would be a great place to eat if the menu improves.. Staff are ok some friendly and some not so friendly. It has always been clean(no issues there ) ! Who ever is the proprietor is (YOU NEED TO PULL YOUR FINGER OUT AND GET WITH YOUR CLIENTS REQUIREMENTS) Thank you Ps There is a McDonald’s and Greggs , however if you want something decent,this truck stop is truly lacking 😔

Never again avoid this place If you can , paper plates, food disgusting we had a steak and chicken breast burger never seen anything worse 🤢🤢

Myself, husband and our dog arrived at Lymm services after a six our drive when we came across bar & grill. There were two people in the place so almost empty we asked if they were dog friendly we were told we could sit outside under a small canope in the cold and pouring rain we asked if we could sit at the back away from the two customers but we were told no so we left. Thank god after reading the reviews think we had a norrow escape!!! We will never be back even before we read the reviews no wonder it was empty!

Worst breakfast I've ever had. HASH BROWN-dripping in oil BACON-under cooked fatty and grizzly SAUSAGE-not sure if they were actually sausage, more like bails on wicket stumps EGG-went with scrambled, over cooked and rubbery BEANS-hard and cold TOAST-ok TEA-wet If you can't cook an English breakfast stay out of the kitchen.

Needed a quick breakfast before driving off; staff were nice, food was OK and the price wasn't too bad

Went into this place at lunchtime and it was empty! The reason is that most of the menu is removed. My daughter is vegan and they said there’s nothing they can offer. The guy that served us really couldn’t of cared less. We left and ate elsewhere! No wonder it was empty

Food was small for the price the chicken was like leather not much choice on menu . Staff was rude slammed my plate down and chips fell on my lap . Very quiet and clean which was a bonus. Not very good value for money .

Place was very clean and quiet wasent happy with the mix grill tho the chicken is frozen crap and looks and tastes like rubber and for £12.99 is very poor value for money lacks in quality and quantity and also not a very big menu to choose from

Good and very reasonable for a Service area. Food served quickly and efficiently. Good choice and vegetarian options.

Went for breakfast this morning with family and the food was stone cold, the coffee tasted like sink water and the price they charge is extortionate! If your hungry to go to maccies! The staff were friendly though, that makes up for the bad food👍🏼

Stay away. Worse meal ever. Scampi frozen in middle , replaced meal. Steak well over cooked. Stay away at all costs. Nice service staff only good comments.

Twice I’ve been in whilst parked up for the night and had steak first time I asked for medium rare came well done sent it back came back with another well done. Went in last night thought I’d they well done is medium rare we’ll go blue still came out looking like it had lost a fight with a dragon and dry as hell. Obviously the grill person isn’t a trained chef and can only to we’ll done or burnt. McDonald’s round the corner at least I know I’m getting crap food there.

Having hummed and arghed about having an evening meal here we were very pleasantly surprised at the taste, quantity of food here. Expecting typical motorway fayre we were presented with good value, decent size portion and lovely tasting

Absolutely crap service - the lady behind the bar was not only too old to be working there but didnt have a clue about how to work behind the bar or how to work the till. She kept asking if i wanted ‘extras’ which were already part of the meals me and my partner were ordering. She then proceded to take a rediculously long amount of time to pour two measley drinks of which she complained about one of the draughts not working - try changing the barrel. Clearly untrained and shouldnt have been left to run the bar by herself. I could have walked home and back (60 miles away) and gotten myself a drink quicker than she took to produce just one of our drinks. Due to her lack of speed the queue was building up quite hastily to which the waitress deemed it appropriate to leave people at the till to go and do other meaningless tasks and chatting to what looked like friends at the back of the restaurant leaving the rest of us stood confused and frustrated. Ordering our food was a task and a half, she had no idea where anything was on the till and when we asked to have some items removed from the meal due to dietry requirements which is pretty simple - the plates that were brought to our table contained only the items we DIDNT want she either hadnt done the order correctly on the till or there was a communicatoon with the kitchen. The only slight upside was that the food was served quickly however hadnt been done correctly, my partners ‘medium rare’ steak was by far the most overcooked thing on his plate. Stale bread, soggy onion rings and burnt chips. Dont waste your money on this overpriced place

We stayed overnight at the Ibis Hotel and both evening and morning staff were extremely unfriendly and rude. As for the breakfast - nothing to write home about. Eggs weren't even sunny side up. Won't be going there for breakfast/food again. Don't even get a pot of tea. Plus it's served in a mug rather than a cup.

1 person eating so not busy at all. Ordered Lasagne, chips and salad and cup of tea.£2.29 for 1 cup of foul tea.Lasagne still solid ice in the middle. Lettuce and cucumber like defrosted jelly. Absolutely disgusting, could not get out quick enough. Large party of fellas arrived as we were leaving, heaven knows what crap they were served????

Ok so a little expensive , tenner with toast and a brew , but really friendly staff , clean , decent produce , bacon especially good , will certainly call again ! Dave Mather

Quick stop over to collect our daughter from uni, booked a room in the hotel on site and needed a bite to eat, didn't particularly fancy MacDonald and that was our only other choice.Bar staff really friendly and efficient. Didn't have to wait long for food. Nothing spectacular but the food was hot and flavoursome. Hubby had curry, rice and chips (good amount of chicken in the curry!), I had lasagna, salad and........chips! Lots of cheese on the lasagna, and a nice dressing on the salad. Two cups of tea which were unlimited refills, bonus!All told not too bad, just remember that the main custom are lorry drivers so food needs to be quick, plentiful and served with chips! Definitely not fine dining but it done the job, filled a hole and warmed us up.

Pushed for time and staying on a budget as I was and not a fan of average fast food? Then this filled the bill quite well. Not the height of sophistication but it was clean and the food (ham, egg and chips) was good. The ham wasn't pre-packed but sliced off a joint and the beer was tasty. Friendly truckers abounded and the service was friendly and efficient.

Absolutely rubbish worst breakfast ever, grilled tomato was not so grilled, the beans you could count with one hand and you don't get bread or toast with your breakfast, it's extra, Absolutely disgusting with what you get for the price, I know it's motorway services but sucker seems to come to mind, I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy, full English breakfast advertised but you don't get bread or toast so it's NOT a full English.

Worst breakfast we ever had staff could smile more and 1.99for a slice off bread the beans was cold sausage was not much better it was rubbish

very good cheap food and beer staff friendly food of compareable quqlity to church green lymm at reasonable prices well worth using while staying at services as don't have to drive 2miles to nearest pubs

We ordered a plain jacket potato with baked beans for our son who had several severe allergies (egg, dairy, nut, fish and soya). The jacket arrived with side salad, complete with a drizzle of salad dressing, which contained who knows what. The waitress seemed put out by us rejecting the meal because of the contaminated meal. Rather disappointing, because the menu and food itself seems rather nice.

Cooked breakfast was luke warm, had to remind them we had ordered coffee. When the waitress brought the coffee she didn’t remove the dirty plates. Worst coffee I have tried to drink in a long time. Several tables needed clearing, although not at all busy.

Pub restaurant type grill. A bit cold in the seating area. But the food was surprisingly good. We had lasagne and fried chicken and both were well cooked and tasty. The food was hot and fresh and of excellent quality.

Visited here 5 times previously and generally been okay. Not too good today.

I ate here and chose the steak and chips I asked for a medium steak which came pretty much well done along with a burnt mushroom and peas that looked liked they had been boiled within an inch of there life!!

it's a good standard I'd compare it to haverester. Price medium range daytime staff was a little no friendly night time staff was great food I had the chicken mix which I thought was good quality came out fast a lot on the plate tasted nice you can buy alcohol also at the bar if you stay at the ibis hotel next door you get a 20 % discount only thing I thought was bad value was the breakfast cooked nice but over priced

Recently visited Lymm services. Used the bar and grill for breakfast and forgotten a jacket. Left the service station and drove back home (scotland) released I left the jacket and called the restaurant who confirmed the jacket was there and after explaining I wouldn’t be able to travel back down they confirmed they would send it via postage.

It serves food. But it’s not great food. Very bog standard/poor.

This is the first time I think I give a place a 1 star rating, but I think this place need a lot of improvement!

We were staying at the hotel on the services and so qualified for a discount on our food bill. As the food was inexpensive anyway, this made for a brilliant value meal. Meals are cooked to order.I had the chicken trio, it was all delicious, hot and well presented. Him indoors had curry of the day and said it was really flavoursome. The lady who took our order could have tried a bit harder to be pleasant but the waiter who brought our meals more than compensated for this-he was so nice, an asset to the place without a doubt.

By far the worst place for food and for being served!

Food cooked to order so not as fast as some services ....but soooo much better taste and quality! Good atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff ...who were actually wiping tables and buffing the cutlery before relaying ... so nice to see! Cod & chips was huge, traditional brunch was generous and well cooked (yolk still runny), burger was a little disappointing, not very thick, no bacon (despite opting for cheese & bacon) but good flavour! We will be back!!

There were a lot of truckers at this restaurant and as we did not want a big meal decided to try it.The food was very good,i had the lasagne and my husband had chicken pie,chips and peas,both were piping hot and tasty.As we were staying at the hotel next door we got a 20% discount so it was very reasonable too.The drinks were also reasonably priced.

Ideal location for our stay in the nearby hotel. They have good food with a decent selection to choose from.

Just had a lovely cooked breakfast and the staff were so friendly and thoughtful. Thoroughly recommend to all.

Not been here for years was expecting the greasy spoon came to find its brilliant change and great food

Four pieces of cheap brown bread, toasted, no butter, no jam (by request), each piece charged at the price of a whole loaf of Chorleywood's finest. Price? £3.96 for the browned cotton wool, £6.25 for the coffee as well. Price in a regular café? About £2.00.

We were staying in the Ibis next door(mid week) and asked the receptionist what it was like in The Fifth Wheel, she said it was good, I really thought it would be terrible mass produced microwaved rubbish, I was totally wrong! What a little gem, the steak was cooked to perfection (which a lot of establishments cannot get right), the service was great, the place was clean and it was busy! Please try it, you will not be disappointed.

Soup was ok, came with a dry bap. Mozzeralla sticks we're ok with garlic dip. Baked potato ok with cheese, but could've improved with chili lol. Overall, not bad for a services

Dreadful coffee. Presented i a large cup whereas the contents was mainly foam. A complete rip off compounded by a couldn't care less approach by the counter assistant in response to our complaints.

As the first customer of the morning I was given microwaved food instead of fresh cooked . After paying over £8 for breakfast I ate the toast and drunk the tea ' the only 2 edible things ' . I would recommend McDonald's or Greggs rather than this restaurant

We ate at the 5th Gear Bar and Grill on our journey home from Preston as it was going to be quicker and easier to stop here than anywhere else and we happened to be passing at the right time for dinner. I had breaded mushrooms with garlic mayo to start and my partner had breaded chicken strips with a sweet chilli dip, and they went down well. We both chose steaks as our main which came with mushroom, tomato, peas, and either chips of wedges. It all tasted very nice. Our only criticism would be that the steaks were not quite as tender as the menu promised they would be and both had quite a lot of fat on them. By the time you had removed that, there wasn't as much meat left as you thought you were getting! Nevertheless, the meal was quick and tasty and very reasonably priced which was just what we needed on this occasion, and the service was good too.
