Highly recommend the Fenton Flyer in Church Fenton. The owners are lovely and do so much for charity and the community. It’s lovely that they put on so many fantastic events to bring people together. Excellent choice of beers. Friendly local residents. Dog and child friendly. Pool room and a weekly quiz night. What’s not to love? Definitely recommend giving them a visit.

I took my disabled brother recently out of hospital to the quiz night, we got one chair and table in the pool room. Had a game of pool before quiz. Landlord rudely and aggressively came and took the table, we explained were in the quiz and my brother was disabled, he got worse and abusive so we left. Wish we had read other reviews before, terrible attitude, to be avoided in our opinion.

We were not picked up by Drive, a taxi company in York that no one must use. After a walk from Leeds east Airport we ended up here at the Fenton Flyer. We were welcomed with open arms by staff and guests. They arranged a local taxi so we finally made it back to York. We are eternally grateful ❤️

Great pub. Excellent beer. Ossett Brewery White Rat and Theakstons OP. Lots of room inside to sit in. RAF memorabilia on walls. Pool room and darts. If your a Leeds United fan then the pool room is for you. Plenty of room outside in warm weather with play area for children. Camp site on the grounds. In winter there is a log fire to keep warm. Quiz nights on Thursday. Fenton kitchen next door for all types if food that you can eat in the pub or take away. Its a little gem and an asset to the village.

Ross and his team do a fantastic job. With so many pubs closing it is refreshing to have a local that consistently satisfies our thirst for great ale and friendly banter. This is everything a small village pub should be - friendly, welcoming, the hub of our community. Ross - cheers mate. Terry

My Partner and son have just been at the pub for a drink with friends they had a drink in the garden and the boys aged 6 played on the facilities provided. My son has got home for me to see he has caught his back on a a nail sticking out of the play house provided. Granted my son should not of been climbing out of the window on the play house but he's 6 and been playing with his friend. Its left him with a nasty scratch down his back and ripped his top. The pub was not made aware at the time but when I've seen it when he's got home I rang the pub to let them know just so they can remove them from happening in the future. I asked for the manager who had absolutely appalling customer service, the attitude I was given was shocking. She replied with what do you want me to do, should your son even be climbing through the window. Again granted he shouldn't but is that the reply she should be giving I simple I'm sorry and they'll be removed would of been more than sufficient. I can positively say I will never use the pub or facilities again.

The Fenton Flyer is a pleasant traditional pub, somewhat off the beaten track in the small village close to the rapidly developing Leeds East Airport (formerly RAF Church Fenton). As its name and pub sign would lead you to expect, it has associations with the former RAF station, and there are a number of interesting and unusual photographs of aircraft and airmen on the walls. There is a large car park and a really impressive outdoor play area for children. There is a small family room and "proper" lounge bar with two TVs (one was showing Only Fools and Horses and the other a boxing match, possibly from the Commonwealth Games). Behind, there is a games room with a pool table. I was impressed with the well fitted, modern and immaculately clean toilets. We only stopped for a swift half and a packet of crisps on the way to somewhere else, but the Leeds Brewery bitter was very good! Certainly worth a diversion if you are travelling between Ferrybridge and Tadcaster or York on the A162

My disabled son and I visited this pub on a Sunday afternoon. On entering the bar the barmaid was engrossed in a discussion regarding her shopping preferences with a group of obvious locals around the bar.

Food was terrible and all drinks were flat. Felt uncomfortable to be in the company of a racist landlady, even checked her Facebook after and I saw various hate speech’s shared including both racism, religious hate. Would not be visiting here unless you are also as thick as she is. God only knows what’s said in the confidence of privacy if this is what’s shared publicly.

Called to make a reservation, but got an answer machine saying they must be too busy to answer the phone... so we called in on spec on a Friday night for a meal (as staying at a local'ish hotel), and the place was in darkness, so presumably closed for good?
