A great, cheap and cheerful, good value breakfast, as a great break from some shopping in the Metro Centre. It is a big pub, so plenty of tables, including lots of booths which give a nice touch. Between us we had different breakfast muffins, including the bacon and egg, and the veggie sausage - both were great. The veggie sausages were really tasty and good quality - as good as the real thing! Using the app makes ordering really easy, and tea and coffee refills are free. So all in all, a great breakfast at a great price, in a nice setting.

Ate here for 4 days whilst on a coach trip. The establishment was clean and the staff were pleasant, but there were a few things that let it down. My main concern was that there were no sneeze guards over any of the food, particularly where the desserts were laid out and everybody had to pass/wait in order to get their main meal. Likewise, in the hot plate area there was no food protection whatsoever, and while this may not be a mandatory requirement, this is the only hotel in years that I haven't seen this in place to protect customers and staff alike, even before covid times. The breakfast is very good although we missed some mushrooms with our full English, and ironically the fresh bread is covered with a tea towel. The dinner portion sizes were a bit hit and miss, as one evening my partner got 1 small fishcake, 3 new potatoes and a bit of veg, not very substantial for an adult, yet my stuffed peppers and vegetables was a good size. We also thought that £37 for a bottle of Errazuriz Chardonnay was very extreme, and while we understand there has to be a mark up, we didn't pay this much in London!

A pub that is a lot longer that it is wide; deceptively big. It also has a beer garden at the rear, and is the classic Wetherspoon format. The bar is sensibly placed in the middle, along the left side, the toilets are opposite on the right.
