Waited over an hour the fish was soggy and there was no batter

yes the order turned up early but chips where hard and fish was over done will not be going back was of £12 the best part was the fanta

Wasn’t open at 11:30.am , went back 11:40 , open but told 15mins before anything ready .

Just called in tonight for my fussy husband something to eat, the food was fantastic and the portion sizes were huuuge! He was highly impressed and that takes some doing. The curry sauce was really tasty, yum! Friendly service too.

ordered a burger may aswell of been a rustlers bred was stale couldn’t even be bothered to put a slice of cheese on the patty absolutely vile wouldnt feed it to my dogs

Chips were scabby, and overall very over priced for what it is. Garlic sauce was nice though.

Service was good helpful staff nice place i like the sitting area fish was nice the chips where nice that dosnt mean they can't be better price is ok clean and tidy big shop

Spent 15 pound on a garlic bread kebab when it arrived was only a mixed wrap and these are on 10 pound to buy in shop and was 30 mins late really disappointed and tabbed with service

Items missing. Food was freezing and stale, personally i tried here and it wasnt for me.

Took 3 hours for a scran that's basically a 5 min walk for me ...very disappointed

Estimated time was an hour but was at our door within 20 mins. Come warm which i find rare with takeaway deliveries. Amazing value for money, small kebab wrap could’ve easily served 2. amazing portion sizes😁will deffo be ordering again

kebab was wrong, asked for mixed meat and got chicken

Paid for a large wrap but was dissapointed when it arrived as it was a standard sized one. Had a large one recently from another place, which was twice the size of this one, so this was dissapointing. Nice for what it was though. If I ordered again, I'd just order a normal sized wrap.

Ordered food at 7pm paid over £26 kids are still waiting for food but has not turned up it’s now 9:31 pm now there closed absolutely appalling not like they are far away either and I did ring to ask how long and they told me it was on the way an hour ago

cannot even get a pizza right, did the driver run over it? use as a Frisbee? last order was horrific and this was the same, I won't order from here ever again, overpriced and horrific quality

Great fish & chips just the right temperature even thou it was freezing outside. Nice curry sauce also. looks like this take away has returned to good times and great food.

Horrific, not ordered from these for some time as they were getting worse, the fish and chips I ordered where expensive but 100% not worth it, the chips were horrific, seems there from last night, don't think I'll be ordering again from here again, fish was of at least it was cooked this time but was thin, thick batter thin fish, normally you pay extra for quality/good food not here, really unhappy

Beautiful tasting food and it was presented well in a large box. Plenty of it we’ll certainly use Gills again great value for money

Very disappointing normally reallly good ordered 2 pizzas 1 of them was wrong i ordered a margarita for my son realises he wasn’t eating it It was a bolognaise or something so that went in the bin

Disappointed with one of the mixed nan kebab box it was all scraps of kebab meat and 4 pieces of chicken.

Delivery driver was horrible tampered with me pizza and I won't be ordering again from Gills

Pizza was burnt. Chips were burnt cold and extremely greasy and the kebab meat was green in parts

The burgers we got were discusting and not worth what we paid for them and looked like they'd been slapped together also they had imprints in the bun as if someone punched the bread wouldn't recommend there burgers

Certainly wont be back after the size of the fish. ive caught bigger fish in the pond by the school as a kid. so thats 2 fish and chip shops on the leam and both are garbage harrys aint any better

Told to arrive for 9.15, get there at 9.10 still there at 9.35. Looks like they are prioritising the delivery orders instead of the actual people standing in the shop. Don't accept the orders if you can't honour them, and certainly don't give collection times if we're going to have to wait another 20mins when we get there. This chip shop is really expensive in comparison to surrounding ones and usually this is because of the quality, not so much any more.

I bought fish and chips from mereside chips that were uneatable and cold I won't recommend it

Got fish and chips the chips were disgusting they were all lie scratchings and hard nothing to get teeth into infact no chips just rubbish the time for delivery was brilliant pipng hot but the fish was lovely and white but the only problem was the batter digusting not light and crisp but heavy and soggy wont be going back thanks but no thanks.

Just got the small fish and chips, and it was still too much for me. The fish was made fresh and chips were spot on too

The chips seem to have a slightly different taste than they used to. The large portion of chips would serve two adults, good value for money.

Told to arrive at 6:50pm arrived at 6:49 - waited till 6:55 then to be given the wrong order! Then the rude little lady behind the counter was Adamant it was our order, after telling us that she can only make what the machine tells her another man speaks up and states it’s his order. Then after showing the little lady our order she then said there had been a mix up, long story short 7:15 pizza is ready and the extra topping requested had been forgotten about. Not great for a gills franchise …

70 minutes gif fish and chips that was cold when it arrived and very greasy. Awful

Pizzas has slid to one side as they werent carried flat. Toppings had slid almost off the pizza and were essentially ruined. Absolutely dissapointed will not order from here again.

When i rang the restaurant about our order, they assured me it was on the way with another driver, as one of their drivers had a car problem, i did ask if the food would be delivered hot and he said yes, the food was cooked fresh, driver arrived the food was sweating in the bag and luke warm when i took the food out of the bag, you could clearly see the burn marks on the paper where the food had just been kept hot in the shop, the fish and chips were all stuck together visually in edible the mushy peas were cold and definitely didnt taste like peas we would normally get so they were clearly on the turn as they tasted funny, all food went in the bin, if i do order again it'll be collection only, we normally have no complaints but tonight we have.

The curry sauce was amazing, the fish batter was chewy and heavy, the chips were OK, but lacked salt. The delivery was very late but when contacted the restaurant they were helpful.

Food ordered at 6pm. Delivered at 8.30pm. Rang at 7-15pm to be told it would be another half hour. Rang at 8.05pm to be told it was out for delivery. Batter on the fish was soggy and greasy, chips were dry.

Absolutely awful food, nobody could eat it or wanted to eat it! 2 cheese burgers missing! More chips than I ordered.! Chips were the worst I ever seen! Rang gills & told them about the missing cheese burgers. Sent order back with the driver who dropped the second order off, again wrong order again! Chips disgusting & burger buns were obviously out of date stale old stock. Cheese burgers rock hard. Garlic bread stone cold. I want a full refund

The tray of kebab meat and chips ordered was poor. Only a small handful of chips were received and the kebab portion was also small. Other takeaways offer better value for money.

Walked in and immediately noticed that the cooking equipment wasn't very clean. The staff was also quite rude. Overall, not the worst experience, but I wouldn't go again.

The girl on the phone was lovely but I called a couple of times and then they called me. At first it was its on itcway,then wrong address then the driver has had akit if delivery's tonight. Chips were hit but meat on pizza burnt.

Pizza was quite nice, battered sausage was decent but a bit greasy, and the chips were nice when you could find a decent one within all the tiny crispy ones

Lied and blamed bad traffic. I drive. There was no traffic. England game was on. I ordered a Manjaros after ordering this food for the little one, which is 3-4 miles further away than this place. Manjaros was here before roughly 20 minutes before this food arrived. Wont be ordering here again considering the food was just average.

ordered at 1813 delivered at 1950, asked for batter didn't receive any, chips weren't very nice

Ordered for a delivery between 7.30 - 7.55, asked for an update through the app at 8.15. Replied back with a new delivery time of 8.45. So already an hour late. Got a call from the shop at 8.50 explaining they had only one driver and food would be another 20/30minutes, she offered to include something free but wouldn't refund the order. She said that next time we order to ring the shop and they'll give a few freebies, sorry but this is not the first issue however its certainly the last. It finally arrived at 9.20. Nearly an hour and a half/2 hours late! Requested a refund or even just part of the order and woke up to a text today from just eat on behalf of the shop saying "The restaurant isn't going to give you any money back for your delayed order. They say: "We're really sorry your order wasn't delivered on time. We hope you enjoyed your food." Look totally understand staff shortages etc, however surely when the order came through common sense would of said let's ring the customer explain the situation and mention it may be quicker to collect. Rather than let it ramble on for over 2hours. Then even when the shop finally contact the customer after an hour and a half, don't get one of the counter staff to ring and apologise, get the manager too take responsibly. Even looking at the menu and seeing item descriptions saying "with chips if you wish" ..... haway! Food was OK. Service shocking.

3 hours and 3 phone calls later still no food. Absolute joke.
