I often come here with family. The staff are always so polite and friendly. The meals are always enjoyed by all, at a reasonable price. Tonight we were served by a lad called Jonathan. He had such a lovely manner, and was great with my daughter. Its through great staff like this, why we keep coming back to this pub 😊

I came in for food which was lovely and all staff members were very polite, respectful and happy too help, good bar/restaurant too visit

All enjoyed our meals here, nice food, good portions and we didn't wait long for it to be brought to our table. The member of staff that brought our food is lovely, he is always really friendly and seems to genuinely care about his customers, he came to check if everything was ok and then had a bit chat with us when he came to clear the plates. My only complaint is the price of soft drinks, £3.25 and it's barely half a pint without ice.

My friend and I have just been in for lunch and it was delicious. We both had Mexican salad pasta with salmon and cleared our plates. Lovely friendly atmosphere with quick and efficient service. We were served by a lovely young man (Daniel) who couldn't do enough for us, a total asset to the team. Thank you.

Popped in for some drinks yesterday , we were sat in a lovely booth with a little tv which was fun! Good price drinks and great service on the bar! Cheap too

So me and my daughter and grandchildren came in for breakfast, we decided to both have the breakfast wrap, we both left over half, it was wrapped well, that was good, we took a coyoke of bites to then feeling something dripping down our hands, only to see it was from the scrambled egg, we didn't complain at the time coz the server was really good, and we not a complainer,but I really wish I had now, coz the more I think about it, they really needed to know to resolve this, all they needed to do was to cook the scrambled egg a little long, it's not put me off from going but I just wouldn't get the scrambled egg again.

Had good time at the gold medal great food and Jonathan done a good job very attentive asked if our food was ok if we had any problems food and drink was what was expected Will be back again soon

Iv been here a couple of times over the last 12 months and always enjoyed it but today was different. The place it's self is lovely friendly a nice atmosphere it was the waiting staff we had a shock at. He looked like he had no personal hygiene ( like he hadn't bathed or showered in weeks) his clothes were dirty and hanging off him. My friend saw him pick his nose and then go into the kitchen. He's not someone you want carrying your food or even going into the kitchen. Watch for the lad with the tattoo on his hand.

I went here for the first time and my brother johnathon was working and he was brilliant with service and serving me my food he was excellent and polite .

Had a wonderful evening at the Gold Medal tonight. The food was delicious and our server Daniel was very attentive, friendly and helpful.

Great service, great food, and welcoming staff. From the moment we entered we were made to feel welcome, staff saying hello as they passed and asking how we were. Bar lady was lovely, really bubbly and gave good recommendations as well as humorous. Food was stunning, especially rate the lamb kofta, and fish and chips. Our waiter, daniel, came over and had banter with us, chatting away and checking in on our food. Really happy chap, with great manner. Great little pub, especially for families

Ok, where do I start. The place was fairly busy, but found a table easily, it had been used and not been cleaned. We had the roast beef, also got extra roast potatoes, and cauliflower and cheese. The two very thin slices of beef, was tough, and on the menu photo, it shows three slices, not two, also, no jug of gravy, like in the photo, but then it's for illustration only. The roast potatoes on the plate where well done, maybe sat around for a while, but then the extra potatoes where actually fine, and was a large portion, as well as the cauliflower. All the veg, as far as I can tell, are frozen. No one came back to check if everything was ok. Well, it's food, that's it.

Stopped by to quench some thirst and have a bite to eat. Staff were very accommodating, great beer selection. Food was good for the price and location.

We visited today for a friends birthday meal. I got the chicken tikka masala and it was the best curry I’ve ever had. Our server Daniel went above and beyond. Couldn’t do enough for us and made sure we were all satisfied with our food orders.

Staff were really friendly and happy. Daniel was our server and he couldn’t have attended to us any better if he tried. He was constantly checking if everything was ok and if we needed anything at all. Food was spot on as usual. Very happy customer indeed

Came in for my usual Latte and chicken strips, always great service, hats off to Chef David B, always makes sure chicken cooked to perfection and generous serving of bbq sauce. Thanks again 👍🏻

Tried to book a table and was told.on the phone that they were not taking bookings today, it was walk-ins only. Drove 20 mins to pub only to be told all the tables were booked?!

Went there today, 18th Dec, ordered, egg and chips, and 2 side dishes of chips, when the food arrived, we received a plate with an egg and a load of chips on, we waited and waited for the 2 side dishes of chips to arrive, so had to ask for them, but was told that the plate with the egg and chips, was actually 3 lots of chips, seriously ! So they had to bring us 2 more side dishes of chips, which by the way werent cooked properly, some were a bit white, I know the food isnt great here, but really, they got that simple order wrong!

Nice little bar, go every Sunday with my mother and girlfriend. Good atmosphere and great place to watch the match. Food isn't so good but I won't mark it down too much for that because it's a Hungry Horse chain pub and you know what you're getting there, let's face it. Be nice if they had a couple of decent IPAs as that's my preference, the one on offer is not great. Staff are great though and I enjoy going.

Been here before no real issues previously, until tonight. Firstly our service and server was lovely, no faults there. However ordered drinks and were given dirty glasses that looked like they hadn’t been washed. Then ordered food, yeah it’s pub grub, not expecting miracles but food looked like it had been slung shot across the kitchen on the plate. A bun with the patty slide most the way out, bacon missing. And the taste was absolutely disgusting, spat out and never finished or touched anymore absolutely shocking food. Honestly think my burger patty was someone’s old flip flop they’ve had for years with some melted cheese ontop.

Our family consisting of me and my wife, our Daughters and their partners and our grandchildren had been to see Santa in Newcastle and wanted to finish the day off with a nice meal. The gold Medal has never let us down, we all enjoyed a lovely meal in friendly surroundings. The staff are very nice and they interact with the young grandchildren, which is nice. Everyone left with fully tummies after a lovely day out.

Great family bar staff are amazing. Nicole is particularly amazing without two girls and Dan is always a welcoming and friendly face.

The gold medal has something for everyone. Comfortable venue and very fairly priced. Serves comfort food which is suitable for all of the family. Better than a take-away.

Cannot fault the food and service, exceptional variety. Sarah was so friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend, and will be returning very soon... A lovely warm environment!

Had breakfast here on Tuesday 15th October. Tried Ravensworth Arms first but no service then came here. Lovely staff warm atmosphere and lovely breakfast. My first choice next time.

Great food and lovely staff! Normally I am old school and prefer face to face service, but, since my mum is hard of hearing, we used the Greene King app which was more convenient and less stressful as her hearing aid tunes in to the wrong sound frequency which can be very stressful when talking to other people who don’t know she’s hard of hearing. With the app, we ordered our meals with no bother and, even better, we could pay via PayPal! The staff were very friendly and welcoming as well as understanding of my mum’s hearing difficulties. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back.

For a hungry horse chain this is the best pub for the food. Staff are friendly too!

This is a lovely bar and restaurant. The staff are so hard working and above all friendly with a smile on their faces..we visit here a few times a month and we are never disappointed. The steak and ale pie with chips and peas is outstanding!! Massive you can’t finish it but by husband tries his best!! Please visit you won’t be disappointed

Would not go for food again, two adults and two child. Burger was cheap chewy meat. Mixed grill most got left, sausages horrible, frozen chips, egg over done, meat wasnt that good. Children's meals wasn't upto much either. Staff was lovely, Shame about the food.

We went on Friday as a family really busy nd food was flying out the kitchen food smelt amazing nd looked great we got a couple the new burgurs to try nd they was spot on hot the right spot we saw one chef bring food out he brought arse to help the staff nd even thought was busy he was so polite nd spent a few minutes talking to us asking what are plans for the night was Jonathan is a lovely lad nd couldn’t fault any staff deffo be coming bk next week
