The Fawcett Inn in Portsmouth

Had a roast dinner. Only us two in there but still took 30 mins to get. Beef out of a packet, stone cold peas, raw carrots, greasy potatoes and soggy Yorkshire pudding. Was the worst roast I've ever had in a pub. Considering the cost of £16.95. Definitely not worth it. Will never go there again or recommend.

Has recently changed hands, no ale, no food, and very few customers, music far too loud, always a shame when this happens to a previously good locals pub

Awful. Made to feel very uncomfortable, was laughed at and stared at by what i assume were regulars. Was ignored at the bar for a very long time. Walked out in the end and went to a lovely friendly cafe called Sevda. A turn for the worse, i used to drink in the fawcett about 20 years ago when it was non judgemental and no one was made to feel like an outsider, seems like the attitude there has gone back in time!!

Wow. We tried the Sunday lunch here- just by chance- and had an amazing lunch. Portions were generous- I didn't eat all of my lunch! You have to book a day in advance

Great roast. Went for the ‘large’ vegan option and it was massive! Really tasty. Great staff, really friendly and helpful. Nice local pub. Beers well looked after too.

Sunday funday at this local super friendly and accommodating pub. Booked in for the roast which was absolutely banging! Tender slow cooked pork and beef, roasties Yorkshire puddings parsnips peas mash swede cauliflower cheese (so cheesy!) and the best meat juice gravy ever! Arrived piping hot fresh cooked veggies and fantastic service. And great value at £7.95! Stayed on for a round of killer pool. Fab range of craft beers, lagers, gin and excellent selection of whiskies..... very lucky to have stumbled across this gem of a boozer!

Booked a table for the football, landlady was fantastic, Service was great, DIRTY CHIPS! OMG delicious! Travelled from Bristol. If I ever come back to Portsmouth I will visit here again for sure. So friendly and those Dirty chips :D

Excellent service, great selection of drinks, fantastic Mexican food, friendly atmosphere... What more could you ask for in a local pub ? PS Euro 2020 has been well planned at the Fawcett with an electric atmosphere !!! Lovely extended courtyard garden.

Nice friendly local run by an excellent team, while other pubs take Covid as a joke, you're definitely safe in here well done great effort in keeping the pub safe.

Cannot fault value, quality or service just had Sunday lunch, fantastic very friendly pub with entertainment

Recently new to the area, walked past on off chance stopped for a drink and a bit of food, such lovely welcome , so hospitable, had a roast dinner which was fantastic proper home cooked roast big portions and very reasonably priced .. will certainly be returning! :)

We attended the pub for an evening when there was a live band and we had a brilliant night. Staff are friendly and they have a good selection of well kept ale on. Will definitely be returning

The food was brilliant and you couldn't argue with the price. I went for the small roast but I couldn't finish it all. It was massive! I will definitely be going back.

Staying in Southsea for the weekend and popped in for a last drink on a Friday night. Good choice of real ales and a band was playing. Suddenly realised they were a bit special - think they were the South Coast Collective. So we stayed on and had a great evening. Went back next day too - a footie day - but despite being busy, the service was good. Very welcoming again to us out of towners. Would vote it my pub of the trip.

I went here today with my daughter and her friend as they live quite close by. We went for a roast and even though we hadn't booked, they managed to squeeze us in. The food was lovely and the price was unbelievable! Excellent value for money and a decent amount of gravy! Very friendly atmosphere from both the staff and the customers in the pub. I will definitely be going back.

So disappointed. I wanted a quiet pint in a nice environment and it is on my doorstep. What I got was a young couple with one young child running around, screaming and absolutely no atmosphere. The beer was good but I did not finish it. Too much detracting. Oh well. There loss.

Popped in here before attending the Victorious music Festival, seemed ok when we walked in and got a drink. However it soon become obvious that we weren't welcome to have another as locals were being served while we were left stood st the bar being ignored as the barman (Jody/Joel) thought filling the fridge was more important. Not as if we were drunk as only our 1st pub of the day.

Very nice pub with good food they even do an amazing new year party which comes with food and a disco good service and good wholesome atmosphere

Viví fuera de la carretera de Fawcett y encontré el Fawcett Inn como mi local. Es un gran lugar acogedor con piscina, dardos, comida tailandesa increíble y un gran personal. La comida nunca me decepcionó, la gente era acogedora y si no me fuera de Portsmouth, estaría allí a menudo. Altamente recomendado ?

Regularmente la Fawcett inn y hará durante muchos años. El personal es extremadamente amable y siempre hay un gran ambiente. Que hacen muchas noches con actividades de noche de billar, dardos, concursos y música local en vivo. Se agregaron un restaurante tailandés un año o así de vuelta y la comida es deliciosa y a un precio muy razonable. No puedo recomendar este establecimiento local suficiente.

Aquí con un amigo para tomar unas cervezas. Relajado ambiente. También una chica muy alto que trabaja aquí siempre tenemos un poco de bromas. Me pueden preguntarle de pronto! Laos y tailandés alimentos también las abejas rodillas aparentemente, pero no he probado todavía. Saludos.

In a traditional pub, Thai food is served that is simple, well presented and very tasty. Staff are very friendly and know their art!

Es una media Pompeyo pub con una mesa de billar y una gran pantalla en esta ocasión no muy hablador personal del bar. Ale estaba bien y hay un menú limitado de bar con hamburguesas, etc. disponibles.

A warm and friendly local run by a chap who will do what he can to help you enjoy your time there.Good range of local ales and ciders with regular promotions and reasonable prices. Great place to watch Sky Sports etc and if your favourite team isn't on - just ask and he'll change channels for you! Food looked great although I didn't eat there. Don't miss the Fawcett Inn Cider!!

Another where the staff don't talk, sit at the end of the bar on computer.Service ok but why not socialise with the public.
