Went here for a meal as camping nearby. There were 3 adults and 3 children. We were seated immediately. After looking at the menu, we ordered at the bar. We had a little wait for the food, but were not disappointed at all when it arrived. Good portions, piping hot, and delicious! The only thing I was disappointed in, was as 2 members of our party couldnt finish their food, I asked for , a couple of boxes so that we could take it away to eat later, only to he told that they wouldnt do this, in case we became ill after eating it later. So the food had to be taken back to the kitchen to be thrown away. Overall though, great place to go. Great prices, great food.

Booked a table for 8 at 6pm on Saturday as we thought it might be busy. However when we arrived the booking had been cancelled, but not by us. We did not worry however as the pub and restaurant area were almost empty. There were two young children with us and they were able to play without annoying other customers. We ordered mainly from the 2 for £16 menu, such as fish and chips and large Yorkshire pudding. It took a while to get our food, but this was a good sign as all food was freshly cooked. All of the orders looked good and were very tasty. Even the children ate most of their meals, which is unusual when eating out. The pub was clean and tidy, the one staff member was friendly and efficient. Really not able to fault the Falconer, apart from the lack of atmosphere usually provided by a full pub. Will definitely return.

It's the first time I visited and was a bit apprehensive. Open to non members. Polite service which was nice. Menu looks good and I chose haddock and chops. My partner had cod in a sauce with veg and new potatoes. I thought the presentation was lovely and it tasted perfect. My partner would have like veg to have bit more taste but enjoyed the cod. Very quiet and the music was MTV hits....not really appreciated by anyone really. I really enjoyed and as close by I will visit again

The huge TV was the only thing alive and far too loud... The barman (owner) was barely civil and couldn't be bothered to serve... When wanting to place an order, he disappeared & when he returned, he said it was too late to place an order.... It was 8.45 & the menu states last food orders at 9... we only wanted a desert & he said the kitchen was closed but we saw people in there. He then took the order & when it eventually arrived, it didn't taste anything like the description as the microwave had zapped the flavour... It's such a shame that one person can blight the reputation of a formerly good place to eat. If you can't be bothered, there are plenty of people who can - why not employ one of them & start to turn a profit???? It's the second time my friend had been when they have turned off the lights before she reached her car meaning she had to fumble in pitched darkness for her keys... not very friendly or helpful or safe.

July 2017 I contacted The Falconer about booking a party in September 2018. I knew it was wedding season so wanted to get my booking in early. In October 2017, I paid the deposit they required to secure our booking. June 2018 they contacted me to say they were really sorry but they had a wedding booked in the day we had our party and would we like to select another date for our party. They claim they hadn't transferred the wedding over to the new diary! No I didn't want to re-arrange another date how could I trust them. They have today refunded my deposit. My opinion was they could make thousands of pounds on a wedding or a few hundred on a party!

The worst meal out in years. Staffed by what seemed to be minimal wage young people, with very little idea serving food and or wine. The food itself was largly of poor quality and the salmon reminded me of a half sized fillet of goldfish. And now the chips! They had all the structure of slightly fried yesterdays mashed potatoes. In summary, poor service, worse food , terrible surroundings all underlined by VERY LOUD "MUSIC" provided for a large party upstairs. A night/ meal to forget. Never again - and yes, I live locally.shame on you!

What a waste of a beautiful looking building, sat in a large village. The menu choice was very carb heavy (lots of bread, pasta, cheese, chips), and there is clearly not a chef employed here but someone who can use a freezer and a microwave The bar was empty and lacking atmosphere, although the dining room did look nicely set out and perhaps would offer a better sunday lunch experience than our Friday night one

So back again after the last time to which we wern't impressed, again my inlaws chose here , so thought great, anyway we had the Sunday Lunch which in all fairness was nice as was the starter, but our teenage daughter had the Vegetarian Pasta Bake that was absolutely awful, all ghey had done was put the vegetables, mash potatoes at the bottom, normally this would be on a plate, then a few pieces of pasta on top, with a Brussel on the top of that.. waste of money, So next year we will definitely pass on this place... Waitress was polite etc. But won't be returning.

Rather a barn of a building, to be fair it is a golf club first & foremost & a restaurant second so there are large screen tvs showing football. The real ale wasn't good, they probably don't sell enough. The fish dish of the day was tasty & well cooked but a bit expensive. Being charged £1 extra for thick cut chips didn't go down well & they weren't worth it - had standard chips the next night which were delicious. Excellent burger, extremely average chocolate pudding. Friendly if slightly ditzy waiting/bar staff. Really grotty toilets: half a towel rail, the rest was missing, nails on the wall but no pictures, a grubby table cloth on a sort of cardboard table, topped off with a bottle of bleach. It is in a lovely location, very quiet countryside all around. I fear I've made it sound worse than it was - we did go back for a second night after all!

After a family party at the Falconer the children in our party pointed out that the staff had been quite rude to them. I intended to have a quiet word with the manager about this only for him to turn very rude and aggressive, even began swearing at me in front of the children! He accused the children of getting crisps on the floor and had a bit of a rant about his carpet. This was a teenage party and there may have been some crumbs but they are all respectful, well brought up children. He also went on to try and bring some very embarrassed other customers into the discussion by asking them if his choice of words were actual swear words when I asked him not to use them in front of the children. I can only assume he was drunk as he become very loud and aggressive when I asked him to calm down as he would be intimidating the children. I was horrified at his intimidating manner and would avoid the place in the future. The venue was nice, but very overpriced. The bar was left understaffed for most of the night, the children were instructed to go and use the bar downstairs. Being a public bar, I am not sure of the legality of this, bearing in mind the serving staff did not appear to be over the age of 16.

We went here on a weekday lunchtime to stop off from a long journey for something to eat. The atmosphere in there was a bit odd but we we're planning to sit outside anyway so not a problem. We then ordered drinks at the bar and went to sit outside. Me and my husband both had a sip of our beer and they tasted disgusting. So when my husband went to the bar to order our food he took the drinks back to ask for them to be changed. He was told no and that the beer was fine. I then took them back to the bar, having tried another sip, and asked for them to be changed. Again to be told no, despite me saying that I drink the beer at my own local and it definitely tastes wrong. I asked for our money back on the meals we had only just ordered, again to be told no. The landlord is clearly an idiot with no regard for the customer. The food came out which was cheap rubbish - but then so were the prices so can't complain too much about there. It's places like this that anger me when you see so many lovely village pubs closing down, yet dives like this get to stay open.

All very nice, the veg came in a seperate dish which was helpful as the children are abit fussy. Desserts also all very nice. Portion sizes filled us up without being ridiculously big, which was great for only £10 a head for the two courses for my husband and myself - the children were around £6-£6.50 each for two courses - we weren't quite sure what to expect for the price as we were visiting my sister who lives in the village so we had never been before, but we were pleasantly surprised. We decided to celebrate 4 important birthdays in the family in one party so we decided to book this venue. Initially the manager said it was ok to rent venue and bring the food separately. We booked venue and took some menu choices to consider our options. After confirming number of attendees we contacted the venue to pay for the room hire and decided not to buy food from them as my husband wanted a hog roast. The manager and co-owner was very awkward and after saying initially that it was ok to rent the venue, he was adamant that we had said we were going to buy food from them. My husband had to take control over the event as this person was patronising and unhelpful. After a few words, he changed his tone and agreed to take room hire payment from us. My husband went to see him two weeks before the event to ensure things were right and this person assured it was all ok. Today we had the event. From the moment we arrived to decorate the room, he was unhelpful and awkward. He wanted to place the hog roast as far as possible from the room we rented. He kept making comments about us using sellotape, making us feel like vandals when we were just putting up a couple of hawaiian decorations. When the party was taking place, one of our guest went to return a knife, he told her off for walking around with a sandwich in her hand in front of everyone. We had the venue rented until 8pm and from 5:30 pm he started collecting glasses from the tables making a lot of noise, dropping them on tables making everyone feel very uncomfortable. I wished we had never used this place. This person has no people skills and his team members aren't much different. If you want your special occasion to go well, don't go to this place. Very sad after months planning.

Been to this place several times as it's our local pub and nearest restaurant but was really disappointed. It seems to be basing it's proposition on cheap and cheerful. It's main offer is a 2 for £10 deal. But the problem is that the quality is rubbish. Everything is out of a packet or the fryer so has no personal touch. The menu is enormous but it's like a list of frozen ready meals. They would be much better off reducing the choice but making it a quality offering. What a pity as Welton needs a quality restaurant option.

Before we visited the venue we booked meals in advance from the '2 for 10' menu however these were processed incorrectly by the staff, so it ended up we all paid for the 'large' versions of the meals. When this was quieried they did not accept any responsibility for the mistake and so charged us full price for the meals. Later on we were stood at the bar and one of the waitresses (called herself a duty manager) came down blatantly slagging off the previous situation. When they were confronted both the manager and this member of staff could not understand that they were being rude or disrespectful. Overall the manager had no idea about customer values and service and therefore they're would be no incentive for me & my family to ever go back there. The only good points are that the venue is a in a nice location of a quiet village & well structured 18 hole golf course.
