Went to this pub for Sunday lunch. My partner and I had one chicken and one pork lunch. The food was perfect and plentiful. Briefly met the chef who was jolly and passionate about his work. We met with the manager Lee who was friendly and relaxed . Our table service was provided with smiles, charm interacted with us. We noted a number of games, board and wall around the pub. This appears a well liked local pub. With so many disappearing around the country this is a gem and worth the visit. Thank you.

We visited here for drinks last week and the ale was great. The guy serving us was very pleasant. As it was after lunch time the garden wasn't too busy so we sat outside and enjoyed some sun. Our dog loved the garden. The garden is a good size - I can picture me wanting to stay in it all day :-) Will visit here again and next time we'll eat as the food looked great.

Having moved to Hook in February, obviously the pubs were all closed (due to Covid). When some pubs reopened on 12th April, we were delighted to try out The Falcon in Rotherwick. Last night was our third time and we absolutely love this pub, the staff and their food. They have a marquee out back, which has been decorated with fairy lights on the roof (which when it gets darker looks incredible). They have made some wonderful touches i.e. the rug and cushion on the table when you arrive (in case you get cold), freshly cut flowers on the table and two large heaters (an added touch to keep you warm during this cold and wet May). There are lots of choices on their menu and they also have a vegan menu, which offers lots of different dishes too. We are very much looking forward to when we can sit inside the pub and enjoy the food, drink and service under more normal circumstances. Thank you to Sam and Jacqui for being so accommodating.

Excellent lockdown take away Highly recommend The Falcon for a lockdown takeaway. Excellent, well presented great value food, burgers, wings, fish and chips all superb. If you’re local and fancy a take away, before you get one of the big chains to deliver, why not support a local pub and pop down and grab some quality home made grub. You won’t regret it, we’ve had a half a dozen or so and it’s been perfect every time

We were greeted by the Landlord and taken to our table. Service was good and there was a good menu. Food was very nice a good portion without overdoing. All in all a pleasurable lunch on a bank holiday Monday.Having taken advantage of the Government scheme to try the pub we will certainly return in the future.

Visited here using the government offer tonight. It was excellent. The menu is nice, well cooked and good value. The staff were very helpful, even though they were rushed off their feet. Thank you all. For gluten free eaters, every item on the menu is available apart from the sweet potato chips as they’re the only ting no made freshly by the chef. It was so unbelievable I had the poor waitress check twice! A big clap to the chef too. It must have been hotter than hell in that kitchen with the 33 degree heat today, without the heat from cooking. Well done and thank you. Portions are large. Sea bass was very well cooked. Sharing platter was very nice too. We will be back for sure.

Whenever we go I'm always hoping to see the dog of the pub. Great service by very capable staff too.Recently, due to lockdown, we tried the take-out service. it's a bit far from home, but the food was well packed so it was warm enough when we got home. Very tasty and good portions; you could not fault value for money. Met with friends for Saturday lunch and, in between all the gossip we were catching up on, we ate and drank well. Good selection of house wines to choose from and my Malbec was very drinkable. Different gins to try too. The venison was perfectly cooked, although somehow my friend got more mustard sauce than I did and that made mine a little on the dry side. But still tasty and the fondant potatoes were excellent. Potatoes were the talk of the day actually - the chips cooked with dripping that came with the delicious fish and chips tasted weird and looked burnt on the outside. The landlord was very apologetic and gave us the desserts on the house to make up for it, though we said he didn't need to do that. The explanation for the disappointing chips was quite justified and I completely empathise with the problem with general quality of potatoes at the moment due to the very soggy weather! The growing conditions cause the change in texture of the spuds well before the chefs get to cook with them. Staff were delightful without exception. Overall, a jolly good place to be on a cold winter's day!

Whilst the staff were pleasant the meal was ordinary and overpriced at £18.00 for an average Sunday roast. We have been visiting this pub frequently for the past six years, over the past two years at least three or four times a week for lunch or dinner, the pub has a great family friendly atmosphere, events are frequently planned in and the chef (Nathan) is always cooking up fresh tasty food and nothing seems too much trouble, on some occasions even cooking things up not on the menu as the wife is fussy. I mean we eat here more than we cook at home and have not experienced a single bad meal in all that time, it’s certainly not like other local establishments that tend to use frozen food, all the food here is local and fresh! Lee & his team are superb, extremely friendly and very welcoming, the pub is far from us but we travel as we know we will never be disappointed. Always good beers on tap and a number of speciality cocktails available along with a daily specials food menu that never fails to disappoint. If you live in the area or just visiting, this is the pub & restaurant you need to visit, simply don’t waste your time going anywhere else.

There is a back garden for sunny days and the main house has a traditional rustic style. The food is prepared fresh so sometimes a bit of wait is there but it is worth it. Prices are a bit higher though. We've eaten here several times now (meat and vegan dishes) and we've been always very satisfied especially being vegan it is not easy to find good places in the countryside to eat in. We visited as a family of 6 on a Sunday. The place was fairly busy but steady. Although the staff were all very friendly and smiley, they severely lacked the basics of waiting staff. 3 of the meals were roast beef. The veg and homemade Yorkshire’s were really good, potatoes ok but the beef was rare. We weren’t informed of how it would be served, it was not stated on the menu and we weren’t asked for a preference. I like medium-rare steak but not rare and not for a Sunday roast. There was no check-back. We’d already waited an hour and 20 for the starter to come out and then the mains arrived 5 minutes later. It was such a shame as the chef seemed to be quite talented and they didn’t scrimp on quality of the produce. We also skipped pudding as the service was very poor and we won’t be returning

The staff were very pleasant but service was so slow, I had to approach the bar to put our order in and again for the bill, we also skipped puddings to go elsewhere locally too as no one came back and asked us what we wanted, there was no check back after the food was bought out too otherwise I would have expressed my thoughts with them. So to the food, starter platter was nice even though they had no duck, rest was good but the main problem was the roasts, the beef was very rare and we all struggled to eat it, the thinking amongst the table was that our server should have either asked us how we wanted it cooked or pre warned us that it was so rare and let us decide, a couple of us had the ham and eggs and thought they were very nice but overall certainly wouldn’t warrant a return visit, shame because it’s a lovely setting and dog friendly.

Great location, friendly staff, exciting dishes, recommend to anyone in the area. This place is a little gem! Ceviche, cured salmon and mackerel starters were unreal! Had more pub styled mains with ham egg & chips & homemade pies, all great!

Visited on Friday with friends including a lady from the USA who is used to a very high standard of food. The specials were to die for, Cerviche equal to what I have had in one of the best restaurants in London. Such a good combination of pub classics on the menu. Fish & chips for £10, such good value and exciting dishes. All presented beautifully. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend this gem. Very good selection of wines by glass and different gins.

This was the second time we had called in for an impromptu lunch and I was pleased it was just as good. I am always surprised that there are not more people in there on a Saturday lunchtime. We both had a new dish crab linguini. Lovely and light, not creamy or oily. I had a generous amount of crab and fresh cherry tomatoes. It was very comforting and filling on a cold day and yet felt deceptively healthy. Do try the pub they have great nights like a beer and deer night, comedy nights, fish night on a Friday and classic pub dishes at £10 a plate on a Monday night. They deserve to be successful. Dogs welcome, even free dog treats.

We visited for a pre-booked New Years celebration event and had a brilliant night, courtesy of Lee, his lovely wife, great chef and superb bar staff. Lee was the perfect host, clearly worked hard to make sure everyone was having a good time and laid out assorted challenges, games and quizzes on every table to get people in the mood.

The service is very good so well done to staff and the environment and vibe is quite nice and chill. The Food is very nice and the chips are amazing. The outside area is very nice and great for kids. The one complaint I do have is the men’s bathroom is very interesting, instead of the urinal being a normal urinal it is a bucket, not something I fancy but I guess some people like it. Overall great place and I recommend

Spacious dining area away from main bar. Option of dining in bar area. Chose main dining area and only people there. Wide menu and wine list together with specials board.

We visited the Falcon recently & it was a truly lovely evening. We were welcomed warmly & given a cosy table in the window. Myself & mum ordered a festive gin & tonic which was great & beautifully garnished with cinnamon & orange. There were “bar snacks” you could purchase sat on the bar, all of us had to refrain from eating them as we were about to have dinner, but need to go back to try them as they looked delicious & a bargain too! Great touch.

After booking 3 rooms for 2 nights and requesting low floor rooms as 2 of us have mobility issues one of us with issues had to climb 4 lots of stairs to get to it as they don't have single rooms on the lower floor. Not recommend for people with mobility issues not at all disabled friendly

The Sunday lunch was the best in the area! Amazing quality for such a good price (couldn’t fault an anything) Service was fantastic especially from Aya. I will definitely be returning.

Nice main courses; desserts ordinary, service very nice and efficient. Wines good but pricey, atmosphere rather dull and the heating seemed to be off (in November!).
