Amazing service, awesome venue and one of the best in Bridgnorth! Only reason for the 4 star review is please please get a decent white wine for my partner! Sauvignon Blanc New Zealand all the way! :)

Great location in lower town near the river. We had a studio room with small kitchen. Nice but was warm (could have done with a fan as no aircon). Didn't eat here but food (Indian) looked amazing. Friendly staff.

LOVED our stay at the Falcon. We were there for two nights while we attended a wedding nearby, and our expectations were exceeded on all fronts! Lovely, helpful service, well-appointed modern & spotless room, great food… a winner all round! We stayed in the stables, and it was fantastic to have our own living room/dining area/kitchen, and direct access from outside. We hope to be back in Bridgnorth in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to book the falcon again!

This hotel is nice and clean. As with all old hotels they’ve been changed to accommodate modern requirements so the rooms seem strangely shaped and slightly awkward. I was in room #4 that was small and could do with some basic maintenance like new sealant/grout around the shower. The breakfast was only available from 7:30 that seemed a little late to start. But it’s a nice hotel given these small things. I didn’t try their food on the evening but I will say that it smelled amazing.

Bar staff were really helpful and friendly, rooms were clean and well equipped, food was excellent, the best Indian restaurant in Bridgnorth

DONT STAY HERE. the car park machine is a day in front. So our ticket was for the day before. Scam... We didn't realise and 3 days later a £100 fine. ??? Drove 60 miles and spoke to a young man who claimed he was the manager ( looked about 20 ? ) told him our problem so he could help us and he said laughing at us. It's nothing to do with me ! Very bad mannered and not what u would expect from a up market place of this quality. DONT GO TO THE FALCON HOTEL......

My wife, and I were given a Groupon "Afternoon Tea" purchase, as a Christmas present, at The Falcon Hotel in Bridgenorth. We made a reservation for yesterday 25/1/20.We have not been to Bridgenorth on a social visit for years, and this was the oppertunity for a visit, a walk & Afternoon Tea ( finger sandwiches, with various fillings, scones and 5 other pasteries/sweets, accompanied by a pot of tea.Parking was on the Falcons own car park, which only charged £2 for all day parking, with the added bonus of the £2 refunded if you frequented the Falcon Hotel.At reception the reservation was confirmed (Afternoon Tea is served between 3pm & 5pm) & we were shown to our seats at approx 3.15pm. Tea was quickly brought , with the complete afternoon tea for two, delivered on a 3 tier cake stand.Tea tasted lovely, finger sandwiches were nice, but the bread felt as though they had been made for hours, as the bread felt a little hard at the ends. The scones & cakes were very tastey. All in all, a pleasant afternoot break, we didn't complain about the slightly stale sandwiches, we just ate them.Just prior to leavimg, I went to the bar to get the refund on the car parking, only to be asked if I was a patron, and then told that we had not spent 'the minimum spend requirement'!! Which is £10. So it is obvious that the discounted spend on Groupon of approximately £19, does not count towards the minimum spend requirements. It was a bit embarrassing, and I wish I had never asked the question.Would I go go back? Personally no, I would not, especially if it was at full price, approx £30 for two nor at the discounted price.

I went for Sunday Lunch - so I haven't tried the a la carte menu. The three of us had the total range of Beef, Pork and Fish and all of them were exceptional. Staff were great. I will definitely we returning.

Visited on Boxing Day & New Years Eve with family and friends both large tables (13 people & Children)If i could give 10 stars I wouldIf stunning food, superb service and a great atmosphere is what you love then look no further.Our meals were all served together and in a timely manner and on hot plates. The food was delicicious and piping hot and not a scrap was left on anyones plates.Adam, Jon, Corey and Jake looked after our parties so well, we really could not have asked for anymore.The food was divine and service to boot. Having eaten at The Falcon on several occasions including Christmas Day have always found the staff very friendly and attentive. Food excellent, great choice and nothing is too much trouble. Also use the bar regularly for a relaxed evening drink with friends. Would highly recommended anyone give it a visit, be it for food or just a evening drink in the bar.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here yesterday and even though we left it to the last minute and it was the Christmas Fare in the High Street, they fitted us in. We have been so many times here and the atmosphere, food and this time, the service was second to none. We had a bit of a service problem last time we visited and left a review to this end and had a lovely reply from Adam, General Manager who said if we let him know next time we booked he would ensure us good service, we didn't do this, but there was no need as every member of staff were polite, courteous and extremely attentive. We spent a good hour or more here Sunday and enjoyed a rather lovely rose. What can I say, this place can not be beaten and we hope to be back very soon. Merry Christmas to you all x

On entering the restaurant from the public car park I was met by a really lovely feeling of warmth from the whole restaurant and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. The whole restaurant is done out beautifully and has a great ambience. We opted for the two course meal at £12 per person. We both had the broccoli and cheese soup which was very tasty and for mains the parsley coated cod and the beef stroganoff both were presented well and were delicious. Would definitely return.

A fantastic Sunday roast dinner for 2 at a very reasonable £12.95 each for the quantity and quality. Staff were increadibly freindly and deserve a special mention.

A lovely restaurant - both cozy and classy at the same time. The service was just lovely and very helpful. I believe anyone can find a perfect dish for themselves there - my family and I had a lovely time there, ate delicious breakfast and dinner.

Came for a golf weekend and stayed at the hotel can't fault it beautiful decor .stayed with a party of 20 had our evening meal there food lovely everyone agreed some rooms were being renovated but ours was lovely breakfast next morning delicious will definitely stop again .

I had two breakfasts,the first of excellent scrambled eggs and the second of perfect poached egg.At dinner on the second night I had a delicious poached plaice with excellent mashed potato followed by a fine apple and blackberry crumble which was anything but run-of-the-mill. Very attentive servive at all meals.

I felt like I was in a high end restaurant but yet in a very relaxing atmosphere...only had a set £15 3 course lunch and we all had different parts of the menu which came out perfectly. Would highly recommend trying if in town. I live in Bridgnorth but not been in since the refurbishment, but will do more now.. lovely bar area too so might just pop in for a drink sometimes.

Excellent Restaurant - and good access to local parking at rear -and easy walking access to the Severn River and all parts of low town Bridgnorth. The Cliff railway is only 2 minutes walk across the River bridge - which takes you up to the Castle grounds and high town areas

We came for lunch here recently with friends as we have been quite a few times in the past as a couple. The welcoming staff were professional as usual and very attentive. The atmosphere was lovely as it always is and the food was delicious. The only complaints if I can call them that, were as follows: When shown to our table we had ordered 2 bottles of wine as there were 4 of us. These came out but we had to ask for a wine bucket to put them in. This is normally done as standard. Then used and unused glasses were left on our table, which we had to push to one side so as to make room for other items.When the vegetable bowl came out it was exactly the same amount of veg as we normally have for 2 of us. Also the gravy boat only contained enough gravy for 2. We normally are asked if we would like table water on the table, this wasn't done this time. Oh and the feed back card had already been filled in which amused us!... as I said just niggles really and it certainly would not stop us from going again or recommending the Falcon. We just felt the table service was some what lacking on this visit. But the food was excellent and so was the wine so we had a lovely visit on the whole and we will see you soon x

My friend and I had Sunday lunch here yesterday. It was our first visit but certainly won't be our last. The Staff, especially Mark, was most attentive, polite and courteous. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced as were the drinks. Everyone were smartly dressed and looked totally professional. I had the salmon which was gorgeous and my friend had the beef which she said was to die for. The only thing missing on my plate was roast potatoes, but this isn't a complaint as the meal did not come with them, it is just me and my love of roasties! Well done to all concerned and we can't wait for our next visit!

To accommodate a 2 families with small children and keep smiling is very rare in this day and age so thank you for that.

If you haven’t tried the Falcon you definitely need to! The only place in Bridgnorth to go for a sophisticated evening of fantastic food and exceptional service.

We were looking for somewhere nice for an anniversary lunch, had looked at a few nearby bars, but didn't find anywhere suitable until we came across The Falcon.

Had lunch with a family member, we were greeted with smiles and professional service. we were given a choice of Seat, ordered drinks and our lunch from a varied menu.

This is my 5th visit to this wonderful restaurant. I feel it warrants an excellent review, as with every visit they seem to get it just right.

So having read previous reviews we went with mixed feelings! On arrival we were promptly served with drinks from a very courtious member of bar staff. We had a table booked but asked if we could delay the sitting for 15 minutes as we wanted to enjoy our drinks outside, no problem . We eventually sat down to eat, menues arrived promptly and after 10 minutes our order was taken. Food arrived within 15 minutes, superbly cooked, I had mixed grill and partner had Sirloin, Mark the head of staff I believe, checked everything was good after about 5 minutes. We were very well looked after, food and staff both excellent and we WILL be going back soon.

We had booked our table for 7.30pm, arriving at 7.15pm. being shown to a table and given the menu. We waited until 8.00pm and still hadn't had our order taken so called the waitress over. It was not busy only a few tables were occupied. I do think 45mins. waiting for an order to be taken then waiting for the food is unacceptable, however when the meals arrived the food was good and the waters were friendly. Very disappointed as it was our anniversary.

the meal was awful. tasteless, cold, undercooked and expensive. The service was poor and very very slow. The restaurant wasn't half full so I don't know how they would cope when busy.

Our first visit since the refurb; nice decor and atmosphere, but less than Wetherspoons quality food at bistro prices. In our party of 8, 5 meals were inedible. Staff obviously knew as they were there every 5 minutes as we ordered then nowhere to be seen. As our plates were collected 2 complained, we then waited 40 minutes (without drinks!) before one went to the bar and one went to find the host. After explaining about our experience he said he ‘was aware’ the 2 had complained (no action though), eventually knocking a token amount off the bill. Staff stayed away and it took us 25 minutes of waiting before we went and got said bill ourselves. Wouldn’t have minded so much if they had even feigned being bothered; no extra attention and certainly no apology which would have gone some way to helping alleviate the issues. 8 potential regulars who will never eat there again.

Have eaten here a few times and reviewed with same comment that food is good, decor lovely but lacks attentive service. Booked an afternoon tea here yesterday for 2.30 and as usual no real greeting from staff behind bar in arrival. Said i had booked a tea for 2.30 and was still waiting in bar area 10 mins later. Prosecco was poured and we were taken to our table - food was brought out about 3pm. Nice sandwiches, scones and sweet treats but had to go to find someone to ask for tea as no one had come back to check if we wanted tea. Waitresses were friendly enough but not as attentive to customers as should be - this has been the same every visit, waiting a while for service. If we were not local I don’t think we would return so something that does need working on.

We went tonight on a travel zoo voucher that our son in law brought us for my birthday. We arrived and we was very quickly shown to a table. Now it was 7-30 and the restaurant wasn't very busy but we were sat right next to a table of 6. Ok no problem we just carried on our evening. We ordered our food and the starter served before the table of 6 had even ordered there food. Then right next to us four people came and sat down, it was so close we had to move our drinks in case they knocked them over. That's when i was so offended and upset. The male member used the most awful offensive racial language. I was very upset, my husband got up and moved, i told them i was very offended and they should be ashamed of themselves, and we couldn't sit by them any longer. We moved and left our food. The waitress came over said she couldn't be responsible for what they were saying, even though she could see i was upset and actually i felt she condoned there racist behaviour as she was laughing with them 5 minutes later. We left. When we paid our bill not the manager or the waitresses said nothing. So make of this experience what you will, we certainly wont recommend the restaurant.

Bar service was painfully slow and then this continued when we were seated, asked 3 times for water on the table and twice to just see the wine list. We ordered bread to come before our starters, 15 minutes later, no bread and we we were told that if we wanted the bread now then our starters will be cold as they were now ready... 10 minutes later still no starters.

We visited midweek on a rainy, cold February evening and received the warmest of welcomes from staff. Our foursome started with a couple of sharing platters before moving on to substantial mains. Every plate was attractively presented and the various foods were delicious - two of us opted for fish, the boys had burgers and lamb, and we were all delighted. Sadly, not enough room for puds, but the menu offered a wide range of deserts and a variety of ice creams and sorbets. It's worth getting there early to test the cocktail menu in the well-stocked bar.

We visited after the refurbishment and were not over impressed. However, we have now been twice since Xmas and both times my wife & I have been very impressed. The service is speedy and helpful and the four courses tried have all been very good. The belly pork is to die for: so tasty and so soft!

We had a couple of dinners here over the festive period and thoroughly enjoyed the experience on both occasions. Relaxed surroundings - good food - excellent service. Already looking forward to the next time.

We visited as a large family group for Sunday lunch just before Christmas and were really impressed. The refurbed decor is lovely, very warm and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and helpful and very good with our children. The food was really nice and good portion sizes for all. We will be back.

Please check before calling in for meal on a Sunday, website states they serve until 6pm, asked for table around 4.25pm, told kitchen closed at 4pm another two (tourists?) came in behind us and were also turned away, rather annoyed however short stroll to Bandon Arms meant we didn't go hungry and was very nice. We live in Bridgnorth and are sorry to see that The Falcon, where a lot of money has been spent to make it a lovely place to eat, can't keep their website up to date therefore disappointing potential customers and making even the locals be inclined to go elsewhere in future

We live in High Town, Bridgnorth so when Travelzoo came up with a two course evening dinner for two for £29 we thought that it would be a great opportunity to try a local restaurant that had been recently refurbished.

I visited last night with my partner whilst staying in Bridgnorth for the weekend. Couldn’t fault the place. The place was very clean , service impeccable and food superb. I had the pheasant from the specials menu. It was beautifully cooked and very tasty. Will definitely return when we visit again.

I certainly will not be going for another meal at the falcon again, went once before and tonight gave it the benefit of the doubt but never again, had belly pork and believe it or not it was as tough as old boots, I didn't think you could ever pay as much as 16£ for a piece of inedible pork, cabbage and potato. Dreadful dreadful meal again

Having visited the Falcon a few times I have always enjoyed my experience. However last night left a lot to be desired. The maitre d was a different gentleman from previous and I was basically ignored when entering. When I was acknowledged I gave him my name but was not told if my table was ready or to wait in the bar, he simply walked off. We got a drink and waited in the seated bar area. After 20 mins nobody had informed us if our table was ready so my wife had to ask a waitress. The food itself is of good quality but feel something is lacking. I chose the duck main which I felt was not tender and a little bland. The portion sizes are also on the smaller side. I think the food is expensive which is fine if you get a great experience and not repeatedly have ask for a glass of wine to get one. Have had some good meals in the past and its a shame but I won't rush back.

As a local this has been my first visit to the Falcon since its refurbishment. I visited this evening with my best friend, we have both been meaning to try it for ages and tonight was it. We'll all I can say is what an absolutely fabulous evening we have had. Since the moment we arrived the service has been nothing but efficient and attentive without being overbearing with the most lovely welcome. We had the table for the evening despite the restaurant being full to capacity and we were told this too that we could stay as long as we liked. We decided on the fish menu as it is a speciality on fridays. The waitress explained the dishes and gave us chef's recommendations which we chose and were not disappointed with. The food was so delicately flavoured and so very very tasty. We had desserts and shared a cheese board (my friend has screenshot the cheese selection as she was so impressed by them) all of which was equally delicious and just the right portion size. We were there for four hours, had four courses each and three bottles of red between us on a nice and easy lazy Friday as two friends catching up and the bill was £60 per head!! Take off the wine and we had a four course meal each for £30 a head. Quality, taste, value, setting and exceptional service. Also had free live entertainment (every Friday) which was brilliant as in the background but was very professional. All I can say is that I can't wait to come back.

My wife had beer battered cod and the batter was inedible. I had home baked ham and the accompanying egg entirely covered the small thin piece of ham.Very disappointing, however the waiting staff were very good and our waitress brought out a free dessert and coffee as recompense, which was very nice of her, but the chef clearly got in wrong and in case he does it again, I will not be recommending the Flacon to friends, which is a pity because its a lovely place.

Food at the Falcon is excellent and service has greatly improved since my last report. This restaurant should be full every evening and I am sure it will be as more locals discover its ambiance and food quality.

Having heard mixed things about the Falcon, we thought it was best to try it out for ourselves before passing judgement. The recent refurbishment although finished to a high standard resembles more of an office or work space as opposed to a warm welcoming restaurant. Tables are set out in a cafe type lay out and we were what felt like shoulder to shoulder with another table. Very quiet music and with nothing to look at the restaurant offered zero atmosphere, a loud wooden floor meant footsteps were the overwhelming sound you heard whilst eating. Almost all staff members were very young and although they appeared to work hard, a lack of experience was apparent. Food was ok, small portion, expensive for how much food was on the plate but inoffensive. Waitresses were doubling up as bar staff and had little knowledge about the beers which was disappointing for my husband. An overall cold experience, with average food and a large bill. The Falcon appears to be an opportunity wasted.

Bought a Travelzoo lunch voucher and used it today at The Falcon which is just round the corner from us. The refurb is great and despite a small menu some interesting choices - would recommend the Tandoori roast loin of cod with Bombay potatoes. Service was polite although a little on the slow side - fine if you’re not in any rush.

Visited on a Friday lunchtime on a great value Travelzoo deal. Food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Obviously a recent refurbishment was to a high standard.

We visited the Falcon yesterday lunchtime. The dining room was lovely, looks as though it has been recently refurbished. The waitress was very pleasant and helpful. We had a travel zoo voucher. The starters were lovely, and the main meal was excellent too. We would certainly return even without a voucher. We then had a walk around Bridgnorth which was lovely.

Visited here today with the family. Wasnt sure what to exoect as the reviews had been varied and it was very easy to book a last minute table - whereas many other venues were fully booked - which we felt may refer the quality. However, the venue was excellent with a very varied menu which suited those who wanted a full roast dinner and those who wanted less. The service was excellent and not rushed, which we like as it gives time to relax and digest the food between courses. We had a mixture of mains, roast lamb and a very nice chicken Caesar salad- all very good. Excellent quality and good sized portions. We followed on with some excellent deserts. Would definitely go to The Falcon again.

Went with friends on a travelzoo lunch offer. Menu was wide ranging and imaginative. All courses were excellent, beautifully laid out and all tasted so good. Pleasant environment and lovely waiting staff. Will return even on the normal price menu.

Lovely lunch with family . Extensive menu including lite bites. Well presented, great staff, good atmosphere and we weren’t rushed. Salmon was great as was the salad. Elderly mother enjoyed herself because the room acoustics were perfect. Toilets were clean and spacious. Will return.

Saw a lunchtime deal advertised in the local magazine, just £10pp for two courses Monday-Friday, thought we’d give it a go and we weren’t disappointed. The Falcon has been extensively refurbished some months ago, it is light, airy, modern and comfortable. The menu was good for the lunch deal, I opted for a luxury Caesar salad, followed by a lemon drizzle cake and tea, my husband ham, egg, chips and picallili, again followed by the lemon drizzle cake and coffee. Food was excellent, very good service and we’ll worth the visit, we will be back for a main meal soon.

Just popped in for coffee, had stayed here many years ago, and seeing the impressive refurbishment, I thought it would be nice to have a look around. Coffee and cake at £4.95 was good, in a very comfortable lounge. Would be nice to try the restaurant sometime!!

This was our first visit since the change from a bar to restaurant. Wow, love the decor, gin choice and menu. There has been some serious effort put into this place! We had a great time, the bar man making us laugh and generally providing great service. Well done to all involved.

If you haven't visited here yet do try and book a table, you won't be disappointed have been here regularly since the reopening last year and have been more than happy every time. Staff very pleasant and attentive.

We’d gone to Bridgnorth on Bank Holiday Monday and fancied a Thai lunch and a bit of a drive out – unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open at lunchtime. We looked at various options in the High Town, but nothing really suited, so we were delighted to discover the Falcon’s lunch menu after walking to the Low Town. Their menu of a lighter main and dessert for a tenner – saved the day.

Lovely restaurant . The setting is stunning . I thought the bar was Gorgeous. We enjoyed the service , the gentleman at the bar was really nice and made us laugh. The food is nice and my salad tasted lovely and fresh.

If you've been to the Falcon before you'll remember how much of a dive it was, so it's a huge improvement on that and is one of the nicer meals you can have in Bridgnorth.

Four of us ate here on a Friday night and sat in the bar with a drink to start with. A nice set up and quite trendy too! We were booked in for 8.30pm but when we arrived they said our table wasn't ready. We then sat in the bar having a drink and at 9.15pm we were starting to wonder what had happened to our table. We asked a member of staff who then realised we were still waiting and we were shown to our table.

9 of us went for Sunday lunch. Service was a little slow to start with, ordering drinks and food, we had to go and get someone to take the order. But, the food was lovely, everyone enjoyed it and throughout the meal the service got better with drinks order and desserts. Will definitely be going back, lovely place inside as well.

We'd heard The Falcon Hotel in Bridgnorth, had new owners and had a makeover, so decided to meet friends there for dinner.

We have never been here before so can’t really compare since it’s refurbished, But it certainly looked the part and very tastefully done!

I ordered the mozzarella calzone with tomato sauce as a starter and enjoyed both the taste and the good portion size. For my main course I had seared garlic chicken with saffron and prawn rissotto and my dessert was marscopone mousse with vanilla bean ice cream and honeycomb. The quality of the food was very good and both us and our guests were very pleased. I would definitely visit again.

Went on a Sunday evening with all the family and was very pleased. It looks nice inside since the refurbishment and it gives it a nice atmosphere. Service was good and so was the food.

The atmosphere is good the place elegant and the service good. The food is also good but the portions are small and the prices on the high side.

I went for a meal with a friend and ordered off the specials menu Lobster with Garlic prawns. When it arrived I saw the prawns about 5 but had a job to see the Lobster! I saw what I thought was a prawn still intact but then realised it was a small lobster tale no bigger than my little finger. When I asked the waitress if this was correct she pointed to the cauliflower accompniament and said that was the lobster! I pointed out that it was cauliflower and she then noticed the miniscule lobster tale and said thats the lobster. I said that it was a dissapointment and the dish described on the menu gave the impression that the lobster was more of a feature. she took my meal back to the chef and they did offer to put more lobster on the dish but by this time it had lost its appeal.

I visited the place on 14 February for a drink. The placend seemed to me from outside very beautiful with nice decorations, elegant. I got inside. I ordered at the bar. The drink I ordered 15.90 pounds very expensive. Usually I pay maximum of 5 pounds for it in other bars. However, I enjoyed the drink and I liked the location.

Our third visit. Have had two good meals but last one the steak wasn’t good. To be fair they offered free puds or coffee. However the male staff need service training including the manager who is very off hand and unwelcoming. Poor reception when you arrive they never seem to recognise that you have been before and give you little choice where to sit prefering to sit a couple next to a noisy group although other empty tables.

Came here to celebrate my Dad’s birthday and it’s the first time I’ve been since it has been renovated and it really does look fantastic.

Went for lunch with my husband shortly after the Falcon reopened. The refurbishment is simply stunning. No expense has been spared and you can see use of high design in all aspects. Our first lunch was a bit of a disaster as we waited a long time for the food to be served and when it came I was given a starter portion instead of a main. However without going into it they did do everything to put it right and the food that we did have was very nice. We put this down to teething problems. Yesterday I went with 2 friends who wanted to try it out and it was disappointing. We waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive and they weren’t over busy. 2 of us ordered sandwiches and soup and 1 fish cakes. Not once during that time did any staff come and ask us if we were okay or explain the wait. When the food came my soup had been missed off.

On the day decision to try The Falcon after refit and a very good decision it turned out to be.

Met friends for drinks last night at this transformed venue - having been here over the last 30 years - this is the best it’s been - a complete make-over - big congratulations to whoever is responsible for this. Didn’t eat in the restaurant but will do. One watch-out is for the bar staff to make sure they serve the whole length of the bar - a friend waited ages to be served and gave up in the end. But on the whole a beautiful place - I’ll definitely go again.
