Had a lovely lunch from a varied and tasty looking menu alongside an excellent pint from a wide choice of real ale. Would definitely return if in the area.

Oh dear. This house used to be a reliable source of real cider. Today, there were 5 cider handpumps, which looked great from a distance. However it turned out that 4 were mere fruit- flavoured concoctions, and the only actual cider was Gwent Y Draig's 'Black Dragon', which is widely available in Wetherspoons so not much of a 'find'. I tried a half of one of the concoctions, Seacider 'Honeycombe Infused' but was not impressed - nowhere near as good as the real Seacider cider. Down from 5* to 3*.

Had a lovely midweek meal in there Steak night a nice place and good food an service to break up the working week. Will do it again. Another night just had spare ribs Thursday the ribs were solid meat (not fatty) and large portions we took a Tupperware of ribs home because one portion of ribs is enough for 2. The food and service is top drawer.🫶

During my recent band tour, I was recommended to visit *The Express Tavern*, and I have to say, it was an unforgettable experience! This place has a unique charm that sets it apart from any other pub I’ve been to. The atmosphere is cozy, with a blend of traditional pub vibes and modern touches, making it the perfect spot to unwind. But what truly blew me away was their Sunday roast. It was beyond expectations—perfectly cooked meats, rich gravy, and all the trimmings done just right. Each bite was flavorful and comforting, reminding me of a home-cooked meal but elevated to another level. If you’re ever in the area, *The Express Tavern* is an absolute must-visit. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this hidden gem offers a dining experience that you won’t want to miss! Keep rocking !

I went there yesterday and ordered fish and chips. When it arrived, it looked really delicious, golden crispy outside the battered fish with crispy chips but then when I started to cut the fish to bite full size, I started to smell something off. It smelled like toilet mops so I looked around to find out where the smell was coming from and it was the fish I ordered... I was so sad because I was so hungry. I tried to eat but smell was awful and the texture was so slimy. So I told bartender that fish must be off because it stinks. He then took it back to the kitchen and came back to me saying fish is not off. I wish they admitted the fact and make me a new one because I hardly could touch it and I was starving but because they couldn't admit, I just decided to get a refund instead and leave. Such a shame..

An excellent pub we found on our walk to Gunnersbury Park. Popped in for a drink but liked the look of the menu & food so went back the day after for lunch. Superb value lunch menu was unexpected in London and was really good food. Sandwich, fries and a soft drink for £6? Cannot knock that. Drinks were also the cheapest round about too. Great atmosphere in the evening, with a nice outdoor area with plenty of seating and cover from the sun or rain. Can’t say enough good things really! Staff were great too. After booking a table for the garden area, on arrival we were told to queue up at the bar to be seated. Once at the bar we were then told to choose any table available and that the bar staff cannot leave the bar. When looking for a garden table, there were none free and therefore we had to stick to a table inside. What is the point in the booking system if you don’t actually get a table reserved for you? Unfortunately that ruined our experience at the express tavern. Good food

Had a great Sunday lunch here five years ago, so good that we booked up for Xmas day lunch that year (so-so). On the spur of the moment we went for Sunday lunch today. Sadly it's gone downhill. The first problem is the barman who clearly hates his job. Passive-aggressive is putting it kindly. We ordered Roast Lamb and Roast Beef: both were frankly awful, fatty and grey, the vegetables overcooked, the "proper" gravy gloopy and tasteless. Like a pub lunch from the 1970s. And midway through our meal the pub dog decided to first pee on the astroturf under the next table, and five minutes later, poo right in front of the restaurant door. Shame, this place was really innovative during Covid lockdown and still has lots of potential, but clearly needs a change of personnel.

I visited this pub in close proximity to Kew Bridge Station at the end of a walk along The Thames. The pubs orange facade is unmissable as you walk up from Kew Bridge. Something went horribly wrong on Mothers Day. All the conservatory was fully booked for Mothers Day lunches and we 4 turned up at 1.30 for our table. The pub was very busy and we waited 50 minutes after booking in and then asked where our food was, having been asked to give our menu choices several days earlier. The staff did not have any record of our pre order and said they were short staffed. A bar staff member finally came over at 2.45 and re took our order. We noticed that groups that had come into the pub and ordered food at the bar were being served first, presume this was because their orders went straight on to the till. We still waited over 30 minutes before our starter was delivered, and our puddings were finally finished at 5pm. We would have walked out except it was bucketing down with rain the whole time and I knew that everywhere else in the area was already full. Whilst we noticed that other tables also had delays in their food delivery ours was exceptional, and we had a whole new set of fellow diners when we left, some of whom were the third lot at certain tables. The quality of food here is excellent, it was the poor service that was a let down. I would understand if they had not realised the numbers coming but they knew how many people had already booked. For the first time ever we refused to pay the service charge and felt comfortable about doing so. It won't stop me from going back, but certainly never again on Mothers Day.

Appalling service and staff. Decided to try their steak night, my rare steak turned up as a well done piece of leather, they forgot the mushroom and tomato and the chips were undercooked. Decided to give them a second try and do rib night. This time they decided to up the ante by replacing bad food with no food. They somehow managed to lose the meal in the kitchen. To be fair the staff did spend twenty minutes blaming each other, going through receipts etc instead of getting the meal so they did manage to keep themselves busy. In their defense the people who actually received their meals did seem to enjoy it, I wouldn't know. I suppose that they had to do something rather than clear tables. In both nights there I don't think I saw staff do one table check or clear a glass or a plate from a table. Both occasions the staff could not give any more of an impression about not caring or offering anything. Normally I would expect.. well maybe the meal after you point it it, but that never appeared to be an option. Used to be a good bar, I don't know how it has got so poor.

My recent Christmas Day booking at Express Tavern was nothing short of a disaster. It was hands down the worst service I have ever encountered while eating out. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that the staff lacked professionalism. Their rudeness was palpable, and it set the tone for what should have been a joyous occasion. It's astonishing how such behavior is tolerated in the hospitality industry, especially on a day as special as Christmas. The nightmare continued as we endured an excruciatingly long wait for each course of our 3-course meal. It took a staggering 3.5 hours to complete what should have been a straightforward dining experience. I could have prepared a better meal with my eyes closed in less time, and it's heartbreaking that this is how we spent our Christmas. This level of unprofessional service is simply unacceptable, especially on a day meant for celebration. Express Tavern has left a lasting impression as an establishment that not only failed to meet our expectations but also tarnished what should have been a memorable Christmas celebration. I strongly advise against dining here, as you're likely to have an experience that falls far short of your expectations, especially during special occasions like Christmas.

Very slow service, although our dinner was pre-booked (Dec 24th, 17.00h). 45 minutes until our starters arrived. The wine list indicated 175ml as the smallest glass, but my friend got 125ml only. No serving spoons for the vegetable sides. The pub inside was busy, but outside within the extension area and the garden were more or less empty. Lights went on and off ... Although I had informed the pub 3x about my 2 dogs when I booked, chose the menu and confirmed on the day, I wasn't informed about a 'pub cat' on the premises. Although I asked twice for a bowl of water for my dogs, they didn't get a bowl of water. And finally two utmost rude female staff members harassed my friend and me after I asked why I wasn't informed about a cat on the premises. My dogs had been sleeping nicely underneath the table until the cat came up. Then they barked briefly until I calmed them down. A simple apology would have been enough, but no, one female staff member started to argue and shout at me. Another female staff member harassed my friend while I was inside the pub to ask for the bill and our deserts being packed for take-away since we definitely didn't feel comfortable anymore. No hospitality but negligence and hostility. --- Looking at the Google reviews, 53 of 5-star reviews were written by 'local guides' within the last 6 months and especially after 1-star reviews. 53 'local guides' visiting the pub in Brentford??? How real is this? I give this pub 0-star and Never Again.

Despite having a reservation, we were left waiting for an excruciatingly long time just to be acknowledged by the staff. It took ages to get our drinks, and we had to repeatedly ask for even the basics. What struck me the most was the overall lack of attentiveness and professionalism from the staff. It seemed as though they were overwhelmed or disinterested in providing even the most basic level of service. Our dining experience should have been a special one, but instead, it turned into a frustrating ordeal. Our recent Christmas Day experience at Express Tavern was deeply disappointing. Despite prior communication about dietary restrictions, the staff appeared unprepared and confused. This led to my husband consuming gluten, resulting in severe illness. What was even more concerning was the shocking customer service. The staff displayed a lack of professionalism and a complete disregard for our concerns. It seemed as if they had never worked a day in hospitality. To make matters worse, attempts to address the issue with the manager were met with indifference. We were overcharged by £90, and the manager's response only added to our frustration. Adding to our ordeal, we were forced to stay at the restaurant for three hours when it should have been a 90-minute dining experience. This experience not only marred our Christmas celebration but also raised serious doubts about the competence and commitment of Express Tavern to customer satisfaction. We strongly advise caution when considering this establishment, as our experience left much to be desired.

This level of apathy and unprofessionalism left a lasting impression. To make matters worse, we had to endure an excruciating wait of nearly an hour just to get a drink. At first I thought it was because I was a women, but they served 8 other people through the course of the 20 minutes I was waiting, including a woman. I was the only person of colour in the pub and it slowly started to click that they were prioritising other white people who had just walked into the pub or who had come up to the bar over me. I said something and got completely ignored, and then the bartender tried to serve the man standing next to me. Very grateful that he spoke on my behalf and said that it was my turn to be served. Here I feel at home, I don't know about the food and the drinks, the toilets are so amazing I can even sleep there. I strongly recommend people to sleep there

Great ale pub with ever-changing range; can be very crowded on football days but the garden is big and has a large heated enclosure too. Well worth your time.

Great selection of well kept beers, served promptly by friendly staff. Nice buzz makes it easy to look beyond the rather eclectic collection of knickknacks that decorate the walls and shelves. They were showing football in the public bar when I went. Surprisingly large and well presented garden out the back.

This is a pub in Brandport. There are food specials offered every day. On Monday, pizza was all-you-can-eat. The taste is... um... British after all? Haha enjoy. There are many types of beer. Tasting is also available, so request a sample and decide.

I visted with the family after an airport of drop off at Heathrow. The food was okay and half decent but the hygiene of the place is a joke. Dirt built up on the back door leading to the outside area and saw a staff member picking up saice bottles from outside area and putting them on tables inside with the door open. Our table was by the door leading to outdoor area and saw rats 🐀 running around and the was concerned they could easily be on tables and bottles left on outside tables and with door open easily come inside the Restaurent. I will be surprised even if this place has a 1 Star Food Hygiene Rating and needs to be inspected by the council to shut down for a clean. It was certainly my first & last visit to this place and big let down to the SUPER SINGH name.

The place is decent... The beer is nice although the service is pretty lousy ... Appears like the person accepting orders doesn't listen to what you are ordering... I am a vegetarian and I ordered a vegetarian fries but she instead got me the one with beef. Later on she replaced it but without an apology... I thought 🤔 they may offer a free pint as a courtesy.. they didn't although. Moreover the dish that she finally brought was also incomplete. I very politely asked her about the missing crispy onions to which she replied coldly the chef didn't tell her that they don't have them anymore.
