The meals are not the best Steaks were over cooked for med rare Tasted like they had All been microwaved or boiled in a bag couldn't eat it Steak and ale pie was dry Beer was cold though Would not go again

Honestly one of the worst meals I’ve ever had! We’ve been previously and it was fine but this visit was awful..never again! They need new chefs/cooks.Felt sorry for the waiting staff(they were very nice) as there were only 2 on..took about 30mins standing at the bar to order.then another 20-30 mins for our starter..about an hour after for our mains,which were the worst thing I’ve ever got in my life.the chefs if you can call them that were all sitting smoking out back while the place was busy&customers were waiting..the food I ordered was the salt and pepper chicken.it was literally frozen chicken and chips thrown on a plate.it stated on the menu there would be peppers and onions etc but there wasn’t! It was the same as the chicken starter we got which was called something completely different.if we’d had time we would have complained and asked for our money back as didn’t touch any of the mains but we were there that long we nearly missed our train so had to run. It took 30 mins to queue to speak to someone so literally couldn’t.you pay when you order which is very clever of them! Avoid at all costs!!

Service was great - helpful and good laugh. This made the night more enjoyable. Drinks were great and food was enjoy. Had a good night

I went in and ordered food for me and my partner around 12.10, also bought 2 cokes to have with meals. I paid just under 30 pounds for this. The pub was quiet when we went in, and got very busy 20 minutes later. We waited for an hour and received no food, seen plenty of people getting served food that came in much later. Me and my partner decided to finish our flat colas, and go and get a refund for the food we never got, only to wait nearly 10 minutes to be seen to. We were refunded for the food, and nothing back for our flat drinks, we travelled a long way to spend time in Inverness, only to get 1 hour wasted of our time, and you had the cheek to charge us 7 pound for 2 flat cokes! Avoid this place if you want to eat!!!

Absolutely amazing! Really enjoyed my whole experience here today. I had the supergrain salad with baby corn and it was absolutely beautiful, the kitchen accommodated all requests even providing me with a tub to take away the rest of my food for the train back home to wick :) Billy served me and he was so helpful, friendly, attentive and professional. Great atmosphere and vibe, didn’t want to leave! 10/10 recommend and will be coming back every time I’m passing on my travels! Thank you! Keep doing the amazing job you’re doing, it’s very much appreciated :)

As a single female I felt welcomed and safe. Specifically Billy, (my new Beshtie with the biggest smile and laughter) , is always welcoming, good knowledge of the area, tolerated me complaining about the cold(I am from Kenya), and always served me with a smile and empathy about the fact that I was cold. I really have no complaints. The cold weather is not your fault. I always warmed up when I visited the establishment. Highly recommend it for easy cosy atmosphere and family friendly staff.

Myself and my family came out for what we thought was a nice dinner. We walked in the door and it was empty so they have no excuse. First of all there were 2 bartenders on that night, one gentleman with glasses who I have to say was lovely, bubble and looked like he wanted to be there. We'll the other gentleman clearly didn't, we had asked for drinks for them to be pretty much thown at us, and continued to be rude throughout our time there, the food was either not cooked, tasteless or cremated. If I was to go back again I would try avoid the bartender 100% he shouldn't be there.

Awesome service today @ 13:00 for lunch. I had the vegan burger which was the best in Inverness.

I met my mate for a late lunch one Thursday afternoon in Platform 8 and we had a really nice time. The real ale was a delight and the atmosphere was really good too. The barmaid boobed with my order, I was given the cheaper steak and not the sirloin I ordered. This came to me when I was back at our table after I had ordered as I checked my change as she had not charged me enough for it. I could have gone back but by now the bar was busy and I didn’t want to faff about. Apart from that it was a really nice afternoon catching up!

Spent an hour here before catching the train. Ordered the Sunday roast beef dinner & the 8oz steak, roast beef was disgusting as was the steak. Beef was tougher than a pair of old boots and the steak which was supposed to be medium was the same. Did mention to the server how bad the food was and all she said was she’d mention it to the kitchen. If you do visit I’d avoid ordering food !

Had a wheelchair user with us and staff were very helpful and friendly made sure we had enough space even though it was busy lunch was amazing and helpful adapting the menu for a fussy eater without any issues highly recommend.

Rudest bar staff ever encountered. Ignored by staff. Advised by other waiting customer that it would take ages to get served “they serve the men before us women “ - Two groups of men who came in after were indeed served before us. Sullen and very unwelcoming.

A good pub/restaurant which we frequent when visiting Inverness. Prices have risen considerably for drinks but food prices are competitive and portions good sizes.

Typical pub grub and industrial beer sort of place. They did have a couple of ales on the hand pump but no local pub feel about the place. ‘Real’ pub lovers will want to give this place a miss !

Walked in and was greeted immediately with happy faces and big smiles. Ordered through the app and service was almost immediate. Ordered halloumi fries and mango and lime tacos for starters which both were exquisite.. For mains we have fish and chips and chicken bacon and leek pie really tasty and freshly made! The team here know how to treat their customers and keep the place looking clean and fresh. Will be back.

My friend and I had lunch here which was very nice. In fact I would have scored higher than average, but with all the stringent measures being taken during this COVID-19 crisis, why was a waitress wandering around delivering food and taking orders, but not wearing a mask?

Lunchtime visit (1200) Ordered off the set menu and waited a reasonable time for the food to be cooked fresh. Arrived and was warm at best. Been here before and would return, because this was a one off! Ihope.

I went with my daughter and granddaughter for lunch and can honestly say the pub was immaculate. The hand sanitisers and one way system was easy to follow and the young lady who took our details as we entered was very friendly and professional. She took our order and served us food with a smile and friendly chat. Food was lovely and well very reasonable priced. It was a refreshing break from the doom and gloom and felt like normality in this dreadful time. Thank you Platform 8.

Wonderful staff, clean friendly atmosphere, covid19 safe, food is lovely and is great value for money, it's been hard to build up the confidence to eat out again after what's been going on after the whole covid thing, but the staff really do work very hard, cant thank the manager enough for putting my mind at rest, he was very helpful and answered all my questions before I booked my table. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I ate here recently during our break in Inverness and were pleasantly surprised by the standard of food, service and cost. We were also happy with the atmosphere, cleanliness and Covid procedures. We were passing by and thought not too busy and not to quiet so popped in.We both had haggis fritters and a curry with a couple of drinks and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would certainly visit again if in the area.

Had a couple of family meals here on a staycation in Inverness. Good range of menu options. At a reasonable price. Friendly staff.

Los precios eran razonables, el servicio era muy bueno y todas las restricciones se explicaron a fondo cuando entramos.La comida era buena y los precios razonables, así que no dudaría en recomendar una visita aquí si en la zona, estoy bastante seguro de que volveremos.

Just popped in for a wee drink. Staff were very nice and helpful and we enjoyed a relaxing drink (one non drinker had tea and they said it was good too). We didn't have food but it looked very nice.

Reservamos una mesa para cuatro según lo requerido por las reglas de C 19. Nos recibió en la puerta un anfitrión muy amable y nos llevaron a nuestra mesa, que estaba impecable. El pedido de bebidas fue tomado rápidamente por un joven camarero que regresó rápidamente con las bebidas y luego tomó nuestros pedidos de comida. Todos teníamos platos diferentes, eglefino rebozado, curry de autor, fajitas de pollo y bistec jamón. Las comidas se sirvieron poco después y todos los platos eran muy sabrosos y muy bien cocinados. Nos alojamos por un par de horas con pedidos de bebidas siempre tomados y servidos rápidamente por un personal muy amable. Definitivamente recomendaría este pub a cualquiera. Personal amable, alcohol a precios razonables, excelente comida y todos los requisitos de C 19 en su lugar.

Cenamos aquí una tarde y el servicio fue bueno, al igual que la comida. Ambos tuvimos eglefino rebozado, patatas fritas y guisantes que disfrutamos. El personal era amable y no tuvimos ninguna queja. En otra ocasión, fui de compras y después me reuní con mi esposo en la Plataforma 8. Era sábado y estaba bastante ocupado. Mi esposo dijo que tuvo suerte al entrar ya que consiguió la última mesa para dos en ese momento. Lo que no tuvo tanta suerte fue que esperó años para que el personal le ofreciera servicio de mesa y tuvo que atraer la atención del caballero que controlaba la entrada de los clientes, el seguimiento, etc. La mesa que obtuvo estaba algo aislada del piso del bar principal. área de servicio sin embargo, el chico fue muy servicial y mi esposo finalmente consiguió su pinta!

Firstly waitress took drink order then went for her break without ordering said drinks so they never arrived until we asked over 15 minutes later. Our food arrived, the chicken was dry and probably more like dog food. The salad was dry and obviously had been cut up ages before or left under a light on the pass. The burger was dry and tasteless. The gentleman I presume was the manager was greeting customers and a table of 7 asked to be seated. With no explanation or apology they just got ‘ we can only have 6’ and left the woman hanging. Another gentleman in a wheelchair was leaving the building and the manager?? Just watched him struggling with the double doors and walked off leaving the customer to fend for himself Very very poor service We were then told our drinks were free of charge and on paying the bill it was only the soft drink they had removed not the pint of lager

Came in this evening for a drink, Nicola found us a table, filled out and made us aware of track and trace. Drinks came quickly, Nicola very helpful with options and recommendations. Nice place.

Visited twice while in a trip to Inverness, on both occasions food was very good and reasonably priced. Staff was very friendly, pub clean and tidy. We really enjoyed our time here. Thank you everyone, hope to see you again 😉.

Just got back awful food. Messed up orders the macorni cheese crap The peas arrived if though I said no peas the chips didn’t even arrive I just wish I never arrived at platform 8

Had dinner and drinks here with my sister on a recent visit to Inverness. Staff have been trained exceptionally well on the requirements necessary during the Covid 19. Place was spotless good managerial presence during our visit giving staff directions and guidance to ensure customers were happy and socially distancing. Food well cooked and tasty above the norm for pub grub. The haggis fritters were delicious!! Overall an enjoyable experience and would recommend a visit

Good value,,clean ,staff friendly.Steloa was cold,my burger overly BUT the biggest bisque was it stank of Fried fish.....it was overpowering.

Excellent service from very friendly staff that are from all different parts of the world but couldn't ask for better service even when they are under a lot of stress from other customers still keep a very professional manner. Food is great for what you pay.

Called in today for lunch, asked for soup, told there was no soup. Decided to go for the sharing platter, was told after the order was taken, no onion rings for the sharing platter, given chips instead. Then a plate of burnt offerings arrived, disgusting.After eating the parts that were edible we were told we had to move from our table. The (I assume manager) told us we had to move as there was a government order that there had to be 2 metres between tables (no such government order at that time) There were 4 of us in the bar, the other couple were at least 10 metres away from us. I informed him I would be finishing our drinks & then leaving. He shouted across to the barmaid that I should not be served again. He got that right, will never cross their threshhold again. When the bar shuts due to covid 19 I hope he is repatriated back to his own country & not stay here expecting the British taxpayer to look after him.

An ideal location between the bus and train stations. Also on Academy Street and SO handy for main street shopping. We use this place regularly when in Inverness. Good staff and good food/drink prices, cannot complain.

Ate here as we loved it last time we visited Inverness and glad to say it is still excellent food . Good choice of dishes on menu , reasonable prices, food served piping hot and well presented .Husband had steak and I had scampi - both excellent. We didn’t benefit this time from any of the food offers as these are only from Monday to Thursday and we were in on a Friday but it’s still good value.Drinks are good value too if you take doubles of spirits it’s a better deal.

Nothing special in this bar/restaurant, had to find a clean table as there were plates/glasses on most of the tables when we walked into it. Once there drinks/food are typical of the Wetherspoons chain nothing to write home about or add. Little bit more than home prices though but guess thats what you pay for a way up in the Highlands.

We met our friends here with a view to moving on to eat elsewhere after some liquid refreshment. They arrived having already ate so the two of us decided to eat there rather than walk the streets looking for something else. What we were served for £12 for 2 meals was good wholesome food that was difficult to fault and was real value for money.

Arrived just before 11am, place was quiet and we got a table no problem. I had a Lorne and haggis roll, my friend had a full scottish breakfast. Both very good and decent prices.Our friends arrived a d we had a few drinks all ably served by our bartender from Transylvania who was lovely. All in all, decent place and close to station

Love the place as it has a great atmosphere and the staff are brilliant but this day was different they got our order wrong and instead of doing another order they took the fish out of the wrap and put it in the roll and it look all mushed up and it was cold so disappointed and the gentleman was no help at all as I couldn’t understand him.

Stopped in for lunch with wife. Food was ok for the price. Can’t really complain. Seating area is nice and good atmosphere. BUT... everything was sticky the menu, table everything!!

I met my wife and her pals with my mates, after watching Highland Rugby, at Platform 8. Jeepers we were cold after being on the touchline and I ordered a pint and a sirloin steak supper.

I stopped because of the Belhaven signs and was delightfully surprised by the quality of the food. I tried the fish and chips and they were excellent. Some of the best I have had in Scotland.

We have taken to this place as a regular break stop when in Inverness. It is welcoming and conveniently located between the Train and Bus Stations. When we're shopping, my husband and I often split up to do our own thing and always arrange to meet in Platform 8 afterwards. Most times it's for drinks only but we have dined in here and found the food acceptable. My husband likes Peroni and this place has it on draught and served in pre-chilled glasses which he finds excellent. Prices are fair and we will continue to visit here whenever we're in Inverness.

Very busy central bar which serves great food at very moderate prices.This is probably our favourite bar in Inverness. Selection of various types of seating. Bar staff are pleasant , hard working and efficient and clear tables as soon as you are finished your food. Drink prices reasonable for city centre.. Thoroughly recommend the chicken fajitas and the fish and chips. Plenty TVs around bar for watching sport . Toilets are upstairs and a bit of a hike . Free Wi-fi .

We have visited the platform 8 lots of visits so we were very disappointed in the food and the cost drinks

Dropped in for a quick bite to eat and a drink. Ordered the Hunters Chicken which also appears on the Monday to Thursday 2 meals for £11.99 - it was very good indeed and the coleslaw was particularly tasty. Great value meal and the service was great - highly recommend eating here if you want a well priced tasty meal.

My friend and I had an excellent meal here. I had the chicken keiv and my friend had the liver. Lovely place to sit and enjoy food and drink. Would thoroughly recomment. Prices exceptionally reasonable. Excellent value for money. Will definitely revisit next time in area.

So if one of the chefs misunderstand a chicken kiev with a chicken burger served with sauce on the side that's mean someone needs to use their game and go back to cookery school over cooked cold chips missing cheese on the burger that's not what I expected from a busy place like that good customer service good looking place

Two pieces of stale white bread, literally half a steak sitting in the middle, no cheese as advertised... the sandwich wasn't even cut in half. Salad had also seen better days, and the salad dressing had far too much mustard. Probably the worst steak sandwich I had ever eaten. Took the recommendation from a friend who had it last time she was here... she was appalled.

The pub itself was very good and would be better with more helpful staff and not an Extremely rude barman. Whilst waiting for quite awhile at the bar to order food and drinks, I felt I were putting the barman ‘out’ as he was too busy on his phone than serving.. When he took my order it seemed that I was interrupting his busy life on the phone..

Went to Inverness for weekend with family. Got off bus from Aberdeen and went there for a snack and a beer. Very nice.

We asked at the bar if they can switch to sky as the Leicester game was about to start (only prem game of the night). Initially told they would speak with the manager but didnt seem a problem so we bought our drinks. Nothing came on so the manager was asked the same question and apparently the music will go off if sky is put on (Rhianna playing at the time). Anyway we didn't miss much Leicester won 9 nil, the biggest away win in Premier League history.

Had the sharing plate with my mother, plenty for 2 people. Found it abit noisy but it was a friday night. Not sure if i would go again.

Estuve en Inverness por un par de noches, fui a tomar una copa en una noche de calle, realmente disfruté, así que decidí volver a comer la noche siguiente. Ambos ordenaron filetes medianos raros y pagué 99 p adicionales por champiñones salteados. Los filetes estaban llenos de cartílagos, los maridos eran casi azules en algunas partes y ambos se masticaron un poco. Mis hongos adicionales ascendieron a cuatro hongos pequeños y arrugados, la camarera me trajo un reemplazo después de quejarme, pero estaban secos, cocidos y gomosos. Deffo no lo recomendaría para filetes.

Nos reunimos con muy buenos amigos esperando comida decente y no podría haber estado más lejos de eso. Salchichas y puré en un pudín de Yorkshire que necesitaba una sierra de cadena para cortar. . . no hay necesidad de que la comida simple sea tan mala. Nunca volveré a comer aquí de nuevo.

Burgers overcooked and dry, roll was hard and chips were look warm. Put a comment on the facebook page and they deleted it. Poor show!

We spent an awesome time on the France-Scotland rugby game night. Food was great and drinks even better. The staff and atmosphere was amazing so we'll come back ASAP !!!

My wife and I went there a few nights back. We had a good hearty pub meal. It was all washed down with some very good local ales. The meals were large & extremely well priced

Went here for lunch on a rainy day, staff were great with our son who thoroughly enjoyed his burger from the kids menu. I had a chicken burger (can't remember the name but was very tasty!) and hubby had a sharing platter (to himself ) which he almost managed to finish, failure due to bigger eyes than belly and no reflection on the food! All in all a nice meal and reasonably priced, would recommend.

Decided to give this place a try whilst awaiting a train connection. Was a good choice. It was 6pm on a friday and it wasn’t overly busy but there was a few people there.

This place is very nice and very clean the service was very good and the staff very friendly and attentive . I had chicken fajitas the chicken was slightly over cooked but not to the point of uneatable only a small gripe. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommended to all

Posto carino ma con livelli di igiene tipici della Gran Bretagna. Ottima scelta di birre e discreto menu. Si ordina al bancone, personale gentile. Grossa pecca abbiamo dovuto aspettare più di un ora dallordine per mangiare un piatto di fish e chips, hanno cercato di rabbonirci con una ch’esse cake in omaggio. In ogni caso ci tornerei.

We decided to have breakfast and placed a order for 3 Large and 2 kids breakfasts. Placed an order around 10:20am and we waiting till 11:35 for our breakfasts to arrive. I would understand if the place was busy yet there was only a few tables full.

This place has got to have largest menu for a Pub. Fish and chips to die for. Had a tuna salad sandwich on white bread. It had the thickest bread and freshest. Service was great . They remember my name after first visit. Smiling every time they waited on me. Clean and located right downtown next to Train station. Recommend this Pub highly.

First time in here, ordered at the bar, no problem. it had a steady flow of people from family to work men. had a really nice bake potato and pulled prok sandwich with sweet potato chips which i must say were the best i have had for a long time they we crispy not greasy at all could have had a big plate of them. service was perfect and the young man very polit and friendly. not over priced and well worth a visit we will be back.

Nice pub for a coffee or a meal. Menu for vegan and vegetarian options. Even vegan fish and chips! Friendly staff. Really a good idea to hop in! We enjoyed it very much!

Sono stata qui con la mia famiglia. Volevamo assaporare l'atmosfera di un pub scozzese con i piatti tipici. L'haggis pie era fantastico! Il locale è molto ampio e la clientela è tranquilla, cosa non da poco considerando che in strada fin dalle 19 è normalissimo imbattersi in gente ubriaca :-)) Qui però abbiamo trovato il posto giusto per famiglie con adolescenti. Grandi televisori ad ogni angolo per seguire gli eventi sportivi.

Arrived in the city centre from our campsite and decided the first order of business was food, then shopping. We've had drinks in here before but this was our first time taking food. We had rolls filled with the breakfast item of our choice and tea & coffee. Staff were nice and service was prompt. Basic fare at basic prices but that's what we were looking for.

Disclaimer: when my spouse & I visited this all-ages restaurant, I had just returned from a soggy tour of the Isle of Skye. We were just looking for somewhere to sit and eat (at ~7-8 p.m. on a Friday night). It was our 3rd option: one bar was too crowded & populated by well-heeled professionals... another bar had a sign outside warning visitors NOT to wear team colours & that brawlers will be ejected (and they were being serious)... Platform 8 was our successful option. The clientele was middle-class & office workers. One ordered food and drink from the bar (that’s an IMPORTANT hint for tourists like me). One paid for the food and drink, and then returned to ones table. My fish & chips (with a side order of scampi [breaded shrimp?]) arrived hot and fresh. My spouse’s nachos were a bit odd (meh, whatever). My draft ciders were flavourful & satisfying. The bar staff on duty (July 5, 2019) were attentive. Highlight of our visit: a local won a hundred pounds at the slot machine (and then wisely left with his earnings). Bottom line: Platform 8 is a reasonable choice for middle-of-the-road pub fare & drink.

Nous passons notre commande au bar, nous la réglons et allons attendre à notre table... mon mari avait commandé des frites au cheddar, il a reçu son plat, sans ses frites, on a mangé, et une fois tout fini, une portion de frites natures est arrivée! on a dit que c'était des frites/cheddar qui étaient commandées, mais que de toutes façon notre repas était terminé!

Einde middag. Rustig. Ruim opgezet, grote bar. Goede service. Goede prijzen. Misschien teveel licht waardoor minder intiem en gezellig.

Stopped here for lunch on a couple of occasions. Lovely fresh salad and attentive pleasant staff but for some reason the chilled white wine is never chilled which puts me off going back .... heard a couple of others complaining.... chilling the glass only lasts for a minute.

I nipped in here for a crafty pint early one evening. It caters for both tourists and locals alike. The staff seemed to be on it with a reasonable level of efficiency. It served food as well but I did not eat here.

Three of us visited on a Saturday morning. We thought we would have a hearty breakfast before going to our hotel to get ready for attending a wedding.

We popped in while waiting for our train . Above the door is the train times which I think it’s a lovely extra to have especially being so close to the train station, drinks are cheap and the food was well presented and arrived within a good time frame. The women who served us introduced herself as “Susan” she spent time to chat to us instead of rushing our order through this made a massive difference to the standard of service we have received else where what an asset to the pub this women is!

The meals were nice and fresh and hot the Staff were nice it was a good value for money nice and easy clean I been there a couple of times with family friends we all enjoy our meal it's good for British food.

Great pub with friendly staff and great range of tasty beverages. The food was good and great value.
