Hillhead Cafe in Highland

Update: Hillhead Club Sandwich is the best thing ever with nicest gluten free bread. Lemon drizzle cake is best gluten free cake I ever had. Chocolate cake divine! LOVE it! Vegetarian breakfast is amazing. Literally opposite my house....dangerously convenient!

Great food, variable service (notably it looked like their cook hadn't turned up on time at this last visit). Fourth visit now and can recommend their Tornagrain Breakfast, the Avocado and Salmon, and the French Toast. Wife visited yesterday for lunch, what a downturn reported! Dreadful service and disappointing food.

First visit to this cafe it’s lovely inside nicely decorated. Small menu but lovely food and presented beautifully. Nice touch of the bite size piece of tablet with your hot drinks 👍 I had the chicken , bacon , avocado & Parmesan on toasted sourdough bread it was delicious I then had a slice of carrot & pistachio cake so nice 👍 my only little niggle would be the length of time you wait for your food but it is worth waiting for and they were busy 2 waiting staff run off their feet .

Cracking little cafe and well worth a visit, lovely breakfast, great friendly staff , clean , and very welcoming in a fantastic new build village.

Nice wee cafe at edge of village. Friendly welcome and quickly served water at table when making our breakfast choice. Lovely French Toast with plenty of fresh fruit. Salmon & Eggs on Sourdough was great even if the addition of Salmon in to the eggs made the dish a bit over balanced towards Salmon. Nice coffee and Caramel Latte. Its obviously popular with villagers due to the number of families with small kids.

Sehr nette Bedienung , zuvorkommend, Ein Geheimtip mitten in einem Neubaugebiet. Die Toasts waren sehr lecker.

Such a nice cafe! Ate a fantastic brunch here of salmon and eggs. The salmon was smoked, with excellent cold smoked salmon slices, and the scrambled eggs had hot smoked salmon flakes mixed in. All with sourdough toast and a little avocado purée on the side. The environment was also really tasteful and it seemed like a great mix of mothers with infants, bands of teenagers showing off, friends nattering, and old couples (like us!).

My toastie was very nice but was £9.50 so should have been for that. Enjoyed their "iced brew" special. Disappointed with kids box - white bread with no butter just ham, pompom crisps, mini raisins & 1/2 glass of orange as out of smoothie. The 2 cupcakes (coconut & raspberry) were very lacking in coconut or raspberry too. Lovely cafe but expensive & food not hitting the mark in my humble opinion.

This place is a great find! My daughter and I had brunch here today, and it’s a really nice place - very atmospheric. Food was perfect, and the service matched it - nice, friendly staff. I’ll be back very soon!

Enjoyed our coffee, tea, and hot chocolate along with our cake and muffins. Place was busy, but 2 people ( in several instances) taking up a table for 4 was a common occurance. Also seat beside the main door was rather draughty.

Never been to a Cafe in the suburbs like this before. It was a unique little place that can actually make pretty darn good sandwiches! The lemon cake is also quite good. Not too sweet, and a nice taste. Staff is pleasant and helpful. The restrooms are quite clean as well.

Absolutely gem of a place. And catered for our needs. Situated in a lovely new town in the Highlands. Very nice atmosphere and friendly waitresses. And our food was delicious. Shall be back again soon.

Lovely wee cafe and great atmosphere

The cafe is done out really well and is a pleasant place to sit and have a bite to eat. Arrived here one Saturday at 2:40pm and were told they weren’t taking any more customers even though they didn’t close until 4pm… Wasn’t too disgruntled so decided to try again another day. Ordered salmon, scrambled eggs and avocado. Whilst most of the food was very nice, the eggs were far too runny. The taste was fine but the texture was almost liquid. I don’t know if this is the way they’re supposed to be but it’s not what I expected.

unfortunately they don’t seem to stock much gluten free options for people with celiac, and had ran out 3 hours before closing. My partner did love her food so 5* on her side.

Came to have anniversary dinner with my husband and what an amazing experience. Gourmet food, incredible service and dishes. Hats off for all the staff!

My partner and I have been here multiple times for breakfast/lunch and it is always amazing. However this was the first time we have been for dinner and I cannot give Hillhead enough praise. We’ve been lucky enough to eat at some Michelin restaurants across the world and I honestly mean it when I say the food and service was on par with that level. Food was delicious, presentation was immaculate, staff and service were excellent, and even the cocktail list was wonderful and interesting. Amazing value for it all as well. Cannot wait to return!!

Afternoon refreshments here a few weeks ago (coffee, tea & excellent cakes). A very welcome new place (we only just discovered it) and we’re tempted to return next time we pass through for breakfast/brunch 👍😀.

Came here for the first time today and was not disappointed. Gorgeous little place, decor is beautiful and staff are just really lovely and so helpful. We only had some hot drinks and cakes today and it was delicious so already planning returning for a meal. Highly recommend 👌

Came here for breakfast with my wife and wee man. A stunning newly opened cafe. Staff were so friendly and helpful offering a high chair on arrival rather than us having to ask. Coffee was amazing, breakfast was tremendous and the cakes were phenomenal. I was so caught up in enjoying it all I took only a single photo. Gutted it’s not walking distance but worth the drive even just for a coffee. My only moan was only a single sausage on the breakfast, I’m sure you could ask for more. But that is purely down to my own greediness and would not make me change a 5 star rating.

Excellent cafe would recommend the only area of concern is is the poor disabled access stairs to access the cafe could do with safety handrails

Beautiful café, great interior and vibe. Food is amazing, the vegan Haggis, cheese, and avocado panini was fantastic, and the drinks were delicious. Such a great place to eat!

Another fantastic lunch at Hillhead Cafe. The food is so tasty, fresh and the quality you'd expect in a top quality restaurant. Staff are so friendly and the service is excellent. Save room for a cake as they are all homemade and absolutely delicious. This place is definitely worth a visit and I'll be back again soon.

Brilliant cafe! Fantastic homemade food using the best quality ingredients. Everything was fresh and really tasty. You can tell that there is a skilled and passionate team in the kitchen. A warm welcome from friendly and professional staff and very classy, modern decor. Superb place, highly recommend and we'll be back!
