Edited in response to the business's reply: I have just sent you a copy of my reservation email which did not contain a direct mention of a time limit. In the phone call I received from you I was only asked to confirm the booking, number of guests, whether all guests were adults and whether there were any allergies. No mention of a time limit. Like I said, I understand why you need a time limit especially in the run up to Christmas, and you might have policies in place to inform customers, they just don't work in practice. Went with friends I hadn't seen in 7 years. Initially great service, lovely sandwiches (though sadly far more care had been put into the delicious fillings than baking the breads), fantastic selection of teas (we were told we could select a different one later, which to me sounds like "settle down, enjoy yourselves, take it slow"), the scones probably would win GBBO, great tasting and looking patisserie. But we clearly outstayed our welcome, after attentively refilling tea cups twice, the service became more "can we wrap this up for you", "I'll put this in a box for you", "I will bring you the bill now." In the end we had to huddle in the walkway to get our coats back, because they needed the table back right then and now and we couldn't even wait for our coats at the table. I can totally understand that a restaurant asks for a table back, but then you should put that on the reservation or tell your guests at the start, not try and hint by neglect when 3 friends are entirely wrapped up in catching up. Definitely something to laugh about in future years....

We had a wonderful Afternoon Tea at The Drawing Room. Bianca welcomed us in such a pleasant, warmhearted and professional way and Karol made our Afternoon Tea Experience even more special with his knowledge and charming aura. The whole team is so kind and professional - a perfect fit for the beautiful interior and excellent food and tea. The piano music was very beautiful as well. We highly recommend spending your time at this stunning place. It's a 10/10!

Afternoon Tea at the Brown. We arrive 30 minutes early and they make us wait at the bar while the table is being prepared. We didn't want to drink alcohol so the bartender recommended a fruit juice. After which, at the time of booking, they moved us to a table near the window from which cold drafts came in, which we then no longer felt, fortunately, once we started drinking hot tea. Environment in perfect British style and up to expectations. The food was divided into 2 courses, savory (sandwiches) and then sweet. Excellent flavors and food which, although not abundant, was not easy to finish as each sandwich or dessert was very filling; I saw almost all the tables take away the leftover food. I poured tea for my family a couple of times as the waiter wasn't always present. Although there was a glass of Champagne included each and my girlfriend and I didn't take it, my mother, who took 2, was charged 1 more, which in my opinion was not correct. Excellent experience but not in line with the price and the very high expectations of care and precision of certain places.

My wife and I attended a beautiful tea today in the Drawing Room of Brown’s Hotel. The room was the perfect setting for the afternoon tea. We felt fortunate to have the very capable and friendly servers Xhulia, Ritta and Akshay be so attentive to us throughout our experience.

An amazing experience as usual - Letter & Julia were so attentive (like ninjas - they were there when you needed and gone when you were enjoying your amazing tea experience!)! The food, the ambience and the music made for a really special birthday for my friend (who had never been). This is why I keep coming back to Browns for afternoon tea -- it is simply the best in London!

Lefte and Julia were great in the afternoon tea

An afternoon tea that met all my expectations. Very helpful and friendly staff and a relaxing environment. The only improvement possible from my point of view is communication between members of staff. Just an example: First, one member of staff asks if we would like another kind of tea with scones and sweets. We answer that we would like a white tea and a few minutes later another member of staff asks the same question - if we would like another tea with scones and sweets.

We did a very nice afternoon tea in the Drawing room ! 👌👌 The Place was top with Nice piano music en top service from Lefter ! He was very friendly en he gave us good information about the different Tea’s ! It was so much that Lefter did the the rest in a box !! 👌👌👍👍top service

Hotel staff were wonderful, however my wife and I hardly slept due to the noise inside and outside of the hotel. Unfortunately I left with a sour taste in my mouth as having paid my bill in full, I was charged a further £916 on my credit card. This was a system error apparently and I am now told I have to wait 3-5 days for Browns hotel to return my money. Not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

We had the most beautiful time for our afternoon tea. Lefter and Julia's knowledge about the tea selection was incredible. The pastries were original and delicious. The crockery is beautifully light. Thank you both for looking after us.

Quite disappointing in many respects. Though I’m a fan of Browns for cocktails and the classic decor in the heart of Mayfair, the expensive/elaborate afternoon tea doesn’t measure up to the standard for a fantastic Five Star hotel experience in London. The short explanation is that the service was just not good. Perfunctory and ungracious, the tone spoiled the otherwise excellent afternoon with friends and the total cost for four guests was more than £400. As a regular of a fancy London tea, this would not rate a return visit. I would recommend Corinthia or the Montague on the Gardens. Both are among the very best of this type.

Very high quality afternoon tea of sandwiches, cakes and scones. They kept bringing us sandwiches until we couldn't handle another bite. Live pianist played all throughout, and there was a sort of cosy feel about the place, as it was quiet, warm and homely.

I'm writing this review with such warm feelings in my heart right now, remembering the amazing afternoon tea we had yesterday. The atmosphere was very elegant, welcoming and cosy. We were taken great care of by our amazing hosts, Lefter and Julia. They made sure we missed nothing and made our first afternoon tea experience memorable. A great contributor to the ambiance was the wonderful pianist Steve. His rich and diversified playing, with his personal touch, was very pleasant to listen to. All these great features and small touches, as well, are the reason why people come back. That is why, without any doubt, we are definitely returning to this marvellous place and these kind people.

Great experience. Incredible environment that only The Brown’s Hotel can provide. Lefter was very attentive and has a large amount of knowledge in the area of teas. Can’t wait to do it again and again.

This was an absolutely amazing experience! I loved all the food and especially the raisin scones. Everyone was so kind and our server Lefter and his co worker Julia was so so helpful. The piano was so calming and nice and the wallpaper was beautiful! Just an overall amazing place. Definitely reccomend!

It was so delicious! I love cucumber sandwiches. The service at Lectern and chilies was also lovely.

I've wanted to go to Brown's for afternoon tea for years. I've always hoped the atmosphere would be more relaxed and welcoming - yet still 5 star service. In reality - the surroundings were lovely, the drawing room a very calm place to spend a couple of hours. The pianist was a great addition to have in the background. I enjoyed the overall experience. Shortcomings were the service, which although very polite, was slow - mostly because the staff seemed absent or pre-occupied with chatting amongst themselves in the hallway. We had finished sandwiches for some time before being offered more, and the tea quite quickly became cold. Minor touches, but really are the different between it being a 5 star service versus not. The food itself was pretty good, v nice glass of rose - but I've definitely had better sandwiches with more flavour and nicer bread - so all in all, the price felt not worth it. I did appreciate the kids options that were available.

Aufgrund unserer Flugverspätung habe ich kurzfristig unsere Ankunftszeit beim Afternoon Tee im Darwin Room nach hinten verschieben müssen. Schon hier wurde ich unheimlich freundlich behandelt. Beim Afternoon Team selbst verschwanden die Strapazen der Reise sofort, denn wir wurden warmherzig willkommen geheißen von Rocco, unserem Kellner. Rocco war äußerst professionell und sehr freundlich. Wir haben uns am richtigen Platz gefühlt. Auch das Personal, welches uns die Tür öffnete, unser Gepäck zwischenlagerte oder uns zum Platz führte war sehr freundlich. Der Afternoon Tea ist einzigartig und von besonderer Qualität. Man sollte mit sehr viel Hunger kommen, denn die Auswahl ist reichlich und den Preis definitiv auch Wert. Danke für einen tollen Nachmittag und Abend!

Weekday Jazz is the best thing that can happen to Mayfair now, the ambience was lovely and the staff was brilliant all the way through, starting with John at the entrance to all stewards inside; the attention to detail, bravo.

The afternoon tea at Browns was nothing short of splendid in every way. The tea, champagne, sandwiches, and cakes were absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared and presented. And the scones, both plain and with raisins, with the clotted cream, were sublime and the best we have ever had anywhere. The service was impeccable, with Lefter being a standout with his knowledge of the specific teas and his lovely courtesy. A beautiful room in a classic hotel and a perfect tea service. Highly recommended!

Wonderful tea today at The Drawing Room! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, nothing was too much trouble for every single person who works at Browns. With a vegan, a veggie and a gluten and coconut allergy between us- it was seamless from start to finish and could not have asked for more! Thank you to all who made our afternoon truly memorable!

We had a wonderful night with Jazz after dark and then a wonderful breakfast the next morning. It was great to meet Lefter - he was so generous with his time and was more than happy to meet our needs.

Brown's tea is an exquisite experience filled with delicious sandwiches, yummy scones, and fine cakes that tasted as wonderful as they looked. Brown's offers a phenomenal selection of teas you may not find elsewhere. If that wasn't enough to entice you into trying tea at Brown's, we enjoyed impeccable service provided by Maria and Leftor.

What a lovely and beautiful room for an afternoon high tea. The food was nice, there were so many desserts and the tea menu was expansive. We each got two different kinds and they lured for us and everything. The interior was so luxurious and gorgeous.

Had an excellent late afternoon tea service at the Drawing Room recently. My friend and I went on a weekday and had extremely attentive service. The design and atmosphere of the space was cozy and lovely. The tea and dessert selection was also extensive and extremely high quality, definitely worth the price. One of my favorite afternoon teas in London so far.

Nuestro primer Afternoon Tea, difícilmente será superado si decidimos probar otro. El espacio es tan encantador como el equipo que nos recibió, en especial nuestra fabulosa camarera Rita, que nos atendió en español y nos guió a través de la experiencia (nos vemos en el próximo concierto de Kraftwerk). La comida es rica y abundante y puedes probar varios tés, aunque yo me mantuve fiel al Tarry Lapsang Souchong, un elixir ahumado. Muy contentos de haber ido.

My husband, son and I enjoyed afternoon tea in the Drawing Room on August 17, 2024. Bianca reached out to us prior to our reservation to clarify our son’s anaphylactic nut allergy. Bianca was kind, clear and extremely thorough. On the day of our reservation, somehow in the midst of a very scheduled visit to London, I confused the time of our tea. I received an email from Bianca to follow up on our noon reservation as we were walking into the hotel at 1pm. Instead of being turned away, we were immediately welcomed into the Drawing Room and given grace and understanding for the timing error. Simon was our server throughout the afternoon and he was on point and delightful. Everything was delicious with special mention for the pickle and goat cheese sandwiches, however it was the service and ambiance that further elevated the experience. After our memorable afternoon in the Drawing Room, Bianca followed up once again answering our historial questions about the Drawing Room itself, giving us complete attention. Furthermore, she offered to take family photos for us that are perfect momentos of our time at Brown’s. As we exited the hotel, we had delightful conversation with the charming doormen. We will stay at Brown’s when visiting London in the future based on this five star experience. The photos do not do this magical gem justice as it is the people here that accentuate its loveliness.
