Great atmosphere for a beer and to eat your fish and chips from Mr Chips next door. They even have cutlery and condiments. Dog and child friendly.

Very expensive for drinks. Ordered a gin and lemonade and a pint of cider and came to nearly £18. Could have got double that in a lot of the other pubs we went in. W Was nice enough, clean, tidy etc but just way too expensive.

We stayed in a top floor room. It was small, but perfectly sized from laying in the comfortable mattress & gazing out the window over the harbour & Endeavour replica ship. The staff are wonderfully welcoming & genuinely nice. The bar was great and the live guitarist entertaining. I love that people can bring their own fish & chips to eat , though would be perfect to be able to wash it down with the local Whitby beers. We were there with our pup, and he was welcomed by all & given all the attention he craves. I loved that they had not only dog treats, but also prepacked meals, in case they were needed Looking forward to our next visit!.

Although we could only open two windows but not much of a problem. One lose tap but it's getting sorted. Overall we had a great weekend and we will be back in December.

Fantastic 3 night stay this week Friday to Monday. Nothing was too much trouble for Jo and Adam the managers of the pub, who were very welcoming throughout. Great room. I stayed in the newly refurbished room 5, which is small but functional. Perfect for the solo traveller with a comfy double bed. Clean, tidy and welcoming. They even give you snacks and water in the room. You can come and go as you please even when the pub is closed. No main meals available (although they do cheese boards and other bar snacks) but you can bring takeaways in if you please, or there are plenty of other options on the doorstep in Whitby. The pub itself downstairs is excellent, with a great range of drinks. Live music Thursday to Sunday and a lovely open fire in the bar. What’s not to like? I go to Whitby every year for 3-4 nights and normally stay elsewhere, but this will be my regular now as long as I can get in!

Just back from a weekend in Whitby. Stayed here, really great hotel, rooms were all refurbished as of 1st Feb 2025, excellent hosts. They leave you plenty of choccy biscuits, and crisps on the room, along with with ample supplies of coffee, tea milk and bottled water. They don’t have a kitchen on site, so don’t serve breakfast, but there is plenty of places to get a breakie in Whitby. Car parking over the road £12 for 24 hours. We’ll be booking again for later in the year.

Party of three, went in simply because we were struggling to decide where to eat and we found ourselves there. Entered to discover that beyond a bit of Tapas they don't do food, however was informed by the gentleman behind the bar that they're okay with people bringing their own fish and chips in. We decided to take that option, bought drinks and brought food down from the chippy just a few doors up. The chap serving us was excellent, fantastic customer service and very friendly without being invasive as you often find them. The place itself, great. Quiet, and I mean that in a good way. And the drinks? Definite contender for the best gin and tonic I've ever had. Actual fresh rhubarb pieces in my rhubarb gin! Very impressed, will certainly pop in again next time in the area.

Estaba bien preparada y bien caliente cuando llegó a nuestra mesa otra vez con una sonrisa. Was surprised when ordering cod and chips the skin was left on, batter was soggy under the top batter which made the skin slimy not nice or pleasant at all. Chips were hard and dry. Not for us for regular Teignmouth visitors.
