A disabled room booked but told one not available .breakfast thought expensive as did not include toast or juice. And charged £8.99 for some toast and bowl of cearal plus told milk for cearal cearal was for 4 old old., when we asked why Bill high , staff just laught about it. . The bedding was clean but rest of room OK bathroom could do with a proper clean. We will not stay at this hotel again.G Palmer

Went for a meal there in the Indian restaurant part. The service was great from the guy at the reception area, I didn’t get his name to the two people who waited on us, predominantly Emmanuel who took our orders, served us and asked if everything was to our liking which it was . There was Alishia from Arizona ( America ) who was just as polite and engaging as Emmanuel, made for a great experience overall. I cannot rate it highly and will be going again at the first opportunity to celebrate anything. The decor of the room and the quality of the food was exceptional .

What turned out to be a average meal back in August 2024. That my friend purchased for a birthday present turned out to cost me £250 quid and court letters. I've been in numerous occasions with letters regarding parking and proof that we ate there. Apprently they contacted the parking management company. I'm still out of pocket!! Avoid.

Place needs some TLC but fine for what we paid. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would probably not rush back though.

Excellent food and decent rooms

Lovely old building, big lounge area, helpful staff. Main building has a big staircase so we asked to be put in the stables on street level with a ramp as we needed level access. The room was small but adequate. No lift in the main building. Plenty of outdoor seating with beautiful trees and grass. Good function room at the back, great for weddings, car parpark. Breakfast was fresh cooked to order as we were the only ones at that point. The curry we had was delicious, unusual and not the run of the mill sort. The parking area by the road isn't theirs, though, so you could get a fine from the local authority!

Friendly staff. Room clean but dated. Needs new carpet. Breakfast cooked okay but budget ingredients let it down.

Went for the "Fish Friday 'meal deal' " - £10.95 fish ,chips mushy peas & a pint ( or fruit based drink for the ladies!) .. Good portions,well cooked fish. Freshly cooked , served on hot plates. Good presentation. Lemon wedge , skinned cherry tomato & sweet peas prout on the fish. Enough chips for a grown up ,but not a mahoosive chippy portion. Just right. Service good. Hostess happy cheerful. Recommended. Will go again . Cannot speak to rooms..only had food

We didn't stay but we had a meal. Food excellent quality and very nice but a very long wait. We were told this is because all the food is cooked fresh

I was visiting my friend in Retford and we came here for a few drinks, the man behind the bar was friendly and apparently the food is supposed to be good, we didn't eat this time but definitely want to try next time I go!

Location was very handy for our long road trip, very helpful, happy and accommodating staff despite us checking in very late. Room was clean and comfortable. Didn’t eat so can’t comment on that side. Very reasonable for the price!

We held our wedding on 16th May 2024. The staff were fantastic, very helpful and accommodating! The whole day went off without a hitch and we booked out several rooms for the over night stay Highly recommended for weddings and events. For those working to a budget it should be their first line of enquiries. Fantastic value for money.

Fab hotel for price. Staff were helpful and friendly and there is a lovely restaurant on site which was great value for money. Rooms clean and tidy. Parking free on site

I booked into this hotel on behalf of my employer, expecting a comfy night before a hard day of work. Unfortunately this was not the case. The room was cold and the radiators were not on, neither did I have the ability to change the room temperature. The shower/bath water came out barely luke warm which was rather uncomfortable. The general aesthetics of the interior are not great with large marks on the walls, paint splatter on the skirting boards. There were also sweet wrappers and lots of dust under the bed. The walls seem paper thin so much so you can hear next doors conversations. I can't speak for the Indian restaurant that has the same owners, however the pub lunch wasn't something I rated, thinly sliced school dinner styled beef, undercooked vegetables. The best but was the Yorkshire pudding and even that was dry. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this place, neither would I ever return on my own accord. I think with some very basic TLC on the hotel side of things, a lick of paint, some plumbing or new furnishings would go a long way. At the moment, it feels like a hostel or a halfway house. I hope the owners take this review constructively.

The best Indian in Retford. Great staff and a great location. Lots of parking and a great outdoor area. It’s a regular for our works dinners as well as family time. You won’t be disapointed.
