I love it here! Wonderful friendly staff and the most delicious poke bowls. There’s so many choices and the option to build your own poke bowl means I’ll get every single thing I want every time, at a really good price. It’s now become my favourite lunch spot

Absolutely not fit for purpose, and total let down. The last review you see here is for 2022 and it refers to a child's birthday party with pizza being brilliant and totally accommodating. I booked 17 tickets for a kid's show for my daughter's birthday, thinking I would deal with the food afterwards. What a terrible idea that was. Called the cafe and explained what I was after I was asked to email. Emailed, and after a week I received no response and I had to chase with a second email. When I finally received a response to my proposal: 30 min time, food: veggie sticks, a small sandwich and a packet of crisps, I was told that this was not possible but that they would be able to offer poké bowls by the time my daughter was coming. I had to google this which is "diced raw fish", as everyone knows, an obvious kid's favourite (???!!). Or I was given the alternative to bring my own food as I also asked, but at £3 per child. So this would be £45 for 30 min use of not a private space without the use of other facilities like the kitchen (as you would have in a hall which can be rented for £60 an hour). Very inflexible and unaccommodating no matter what I tried. I am disappointed and surprised that a kid's venue has a cafe that is totally not kid friendly. I then emailed the Pizza Express next door and within an hour i had a great deal for a meal for all my party matching my requirements. After that the cafe owner emailed and asked for a call but it was a little too late. They say you have to support local independent businesses but local independent businesses also need to help themselves. I am not sure how a chain operator can be flexible and accommodating out of their regular offering compared to an independent outlet. So, if you read the 2022 review about how great someone's birthday was, just know, this is not longer a thing, unless you have a hipster group of foodie 6 year olds who love raw fish.

The egg cafe was the most accommodating place for my daughter’s birthday party following a play she watched with her friends at the Egg theatre. The cafe manager, Luke, was absolutely fantastic trying to meet all our needs, despite it being quite busy! Unfortunately he was unable to cater for us in view of special dietary requirements in our party (severe nut allergy and coeliac), but he was ever so helpful letting us order the food in. He still assisted in reserving and preparing the table for a party of 13 not to mention serving delicious beverage throughout. Thank you Luke we could not recommend you enough for your kindness and excellent service delivered!

Nice little venue to touch down with kids. Adult food is totally overpriced for what it is. No attention to what comes out of the kitchen either. Both kids lunches had hair on the plate and the salmon roll hardly had any filing and for £7 believe me you’d expect more.

Lovely cafe in the centre of Bath for babies and toddlers. We had a lovely warm welcome by the staff. The coffee was lovely and the piece of cake moist and a very good sized portion. Just what we needed after a hectic few hours shopping. Great play area for babies although our 5 month old was a little young for this. He did play with a spiky ball from it though the entire time we were there. There is also a small reading corner. Looking forward to visiting again on our next trip.

Tucked behind the Theatre Royal Billed as Bath's child friendly café. The other sign says breast feeding welcome. No kids outside at the four gingham clothed tables. I sit there in the shade. There are kiddies inside, playing in the ball pit that takes up the middle of the floor, but it's relatively peaceful here. No bosoms though. Nice place, smiley staff, ordinary espresso If I had kiddies I would

The Egg is a wonderful theatre and the cafe is a great space to have in the city, even if it is overpriced (£1 for fruit that’s half the price at Sainsburys less than a minute away) The staff are great and attentive and don’t flinch at breastfeeding mums which is appreciated. Our only complaints about the space are that the chairs get a little uncomfortable if you are there for longer than 30minutes, and that the outdoor seating is not smoke free. It was quite disappointing to be sat a few feet from the window on a hot day only to have a cloud of smoke drift by. My companions and I feel that our time at the cafe would be greatly improved if these seats were designated as no smoking so we could sit outside( or inside as it turns out) without worrying.

It's a lovely setting but the food is very overpriced. Coffee is ok but needs to be much better. I ordered soup and a roll...was lukewarm, small peice of stale bread. It was a generous portion but be better serving a smaller portion and reducing the price. The person serving did get this sorted very quickly and apologised saying person on kitchen was new. For the kids meals these are way too expensive. Considering it's been taken over by Garrick's head, l expected a much better quality

We visited at lunchtime, not very busy. The food seemed a bit pricey for the portion you got. I ordered a ham sandwich for my son which came with pieces of orange which I thought was a bit odd. In a child friendly cafe I would expect fruit shoots or cheaper drinks but only cartons of Cawston Press were available. The cakes were not appealing to children. No gingerbread men or anything else that my son would eat. My son loved the sandpit though although it was a bit difficult to get in and out of. I saw two bumped heads and my son hurt his back getting in it. My food was OK but I felt £1.50 to add bacon was far too expensive when it turned out to be one little streaky rasher. I probably wouldn't go back. There are better and cheaper places in Bath.

This is quite different to the typical cafe. There is a sand pit in the middle of the cafe where kids can play, with seating arranged around it which gives the cafe a refreshingly different feel. The coffee was good. I guess if there a lot of kids there it could get a bit noisy and therefore may not be for everyone but we enjoyed a change from the run-of-the-mill cafe setting.

Not too bad and the food's alright but the treats etc are very pricey for what you get! Not great when you have to feed hungry kids! The cafe itself is very child-friendly and great for a catch up with friends- a lovely place but just doesn't quite hit the mark food wise for the price! Staff were friendly if not a little overworked what with the summer holidays on, though it seemed like the manager was on the phone the whole 2 hours we were there..

Wanted to post how excellent the staff are in this child friendly cafe. We popped in with my toddler and baby for coffee and cake on Saturday, it was nice and quiet and easy to manoeuvre a buggy. Unfortunately my eldest was getting over a tummy bug and proceeded to upchuck all over the floor. The staff were brilliant, especially lindsay, who cleaned it all up whilst we were mopping up my son. No complaints from him and very cheery, in what was a very icky task. I would recommend this cafe if you want somewhere central that does good coffee and cake and that are used to the little ones and all the excitement that comes with them!

We took our 3 kids to watch Oliver Twist at the lovely Egg Theatre in Bath , because they had become addicted to the musical last summer whilst driving trough Europe. This version was supposed to be chid focused, with only 4 in the cast, changing roles throughout. The cast also signed everything for any deaf audience members. It was good but too long and a little too 'dark' for the kids. My youngest (4) lost interest towards the end but the older two enjoyed it to a degree. It's not the same quality as the Old Vic productions but it was only £7 a ticket. Good for a rainy day.

This is a wonderful cafe, slightly funky in design with many toys for small children. My grandson particularly likes the big rocking horse and the board on the wall with all kinds of locks, chains, door attachments - a great toy for small boys. The service is friendly and completely impervious to lots of small children running about and occasionally going a bit mad. Prices are very reasonable. I have so far only had hot drinks, so cannot comment on the quality of the cake but I gather it is very good!

I frequently visit the egg cafe with my son and find it's one of the few child friendly places in Bath. The food is reasonably priced but the lighting is quite poor and sadly not open on Sundays.

Having friends to stay who have young children can make doing things interesting as I now have to consider the younger generation. However, I was delighted with The Egg Cafe which was very accommodating to the requirements of small children. The menu was appropriate and child friendly, there were high stools easily available and a wonderful little play area to use. In addition, the staff didn't bat an eyelid at requests for extra forks or food being dropped on the floor. A lovely time was had by all.

I'm a frequent visitor to bristol airport, as my partner travels for work, so I'm often there to wait for his flights to come in. Unfortunately, there are very few options for anywhere to sit while waiting, other than cafe ritazza. Because of this, the cafe area is always busy, and all the regular/normal seating is always taken, so I have to try get my 50+yo arthritic, short arse up one one of their many Eiffel tower height stools, and if that's not hard enough, the darn things also swivel! No wonder all the other seating is always taken, and all these 'make yourself look like an ungainly idiot' seats are always free in huge numbers. Please please please cafe ritazza, rethink your seating options. Not everyone is an 8ft tall gymnasts.

I’m a travelling Australian and got excited about some home-style food but this was so bad. The rice clumped together like it was days old, the kale was discoloured and the serving size was pitiful. Could have made something much better myself for far less than the £15 I paid for this and a mediocre chai. Service wasn’t even friendly. I’m only giving it 2 stars because I had a juice there a few days ago and it was pretty decent - otherwise it would have been a one. And - on the plus side it didn’t taste terrible but the rice was a bit suss.
