Really lovely cafe with incredibly friendly staff and great service. They are very dog-friendly too. Only stopped in for a quick bite but we were really impressed by how welcoming they were. Our lunch was also very tasty.

Fantastic breakfast, possibly one of the best we've had. Great value too. Lovely clean place and excellent, friendly staff.

Just what we were looking for! We were staying in a hotel nearby, but didn't choose breakfast there as we wanted a bit of a mooch round. This place does exactly what it should. It's very well run, the food is excellent and really well priced. The staff are hardworking and kind. I would definitely recommend a visit.

El personal no podría ser más agradable y servicial sin ser abrumador o condescendiente. La comida siempre estaba recién hecha y sabrosa, aunque hasta ahora solo probé los productos de la mañana. Mirando los artículos más aventureros, no puedo esperar para venir más tarde en el día y probarlos. Al escuchar los comentarios de los clientes cuando salen (especialmente los visitantes de mi hermosa ciudad) también quedan impresionados. An exceptional breakfast, cooked to perfection. Very friendly staff that make it very welcoming! Great value and excellent hygiene measures in place. Definitely worth a visit! :)

Pasé a almorzar esta tarde con mi esposo y mi hija y quedé muy contento con el amable servicio y las deliciosas tostadas. Excelentes medidas de higiene implementadas y muchos asientos en la acera. Definitivamente lo recomendaría para un bocado rápido, y muy buena relación calidad-precio.

Este café está abierto actualmente para comer al aire libre o para llevar. Pasamos por unos sándwiches y cafés para llevar hoy y no puedo esperar a volver. Los sándwiches estaban en pan de muy buena calidad y los rellenos eran sabrosos y abundantes. Buen café también (¡y somos quisquillosos!). El servicio fue muy amable y el personal no pudo hacer más por nosotros. Hicieron que las extrañas circunstancias actuales fueran agradables. Bien merece una visita.

Stopped off here for a light lunch, both of us had a soup and a sandwich : very tasty and good value. Service was quick and friendly.

Called in with the intention of just having a coffee but decided to eat as well. Service was lovely and friendly, service was prompt and the food was very good. All in all a great little independent cafe ideally situated in the shopping area of Chester. Lots of regular customers speaks for itself.

Popular entre los locales y un poco independiente. Grandes cantidades de té y porciones grandes para la comida a un precio muy razonable. Estábamos justo después de la hora pico del almuerzo pero aún no tuvimos que esperar mucho para ser atendidos por el personal incansablemente amable. Vale la pena probar aquí en lugar de las muchas cafeterías de cadena en el centro de Chester.

We stopped here for Lunch when visiting the area with my parents, the staff were very friendly, the food was really nice, lots of choice something for everyone, and healthy choices, a little bit expensive, but worth every penny.

On the first visit to Chester we stopped at the eatery and I can say that my experience was a pleasant one. We only stopped for a coffee and a cake but both were excellent would highly recommend or even visit again.

We were looking for somewhere for lunch and had our dog with us. The gentleman who welcomed us provided a bowl of water and some little treats for our dog.We couldn’t recommend this business enough.Friendly and warm service.Clean.Lovely fresh food.Good portions.Fantastic value.We will definitely be returning to this little gem in Chester.

Popped in drinks and cakes. The cafe was clean and welcoming. Good menu but we opted for scones and toasted teacakes. The scones were home made and were served warm - totally delicious.The tea cakes were light, spicy, fresh and toasted well - i.e. not burnt! The staff were friendly but not in your face. Looking around at what others were eating, it all looked good. Would return here

As an alternative to pub grub as well as going to coffee shop chains that shall remain nameless here, The Eatery provided a great lunch, pleasant and friendly service all for more or less the same price you’d pay at any chain. Quite a big lunch menu for a little place, we only had paninis and soup but they were ace.

Easily accommodated a gang of elderlies; moving tables and so forth. No issue with managing must have been 8 different orders for food and drinks; very excellent I would say.

Not far from Premier Inn where we were staying, on the way into the main part of Chester. Had a smashing breakfast here. Beats the chains like Costas any day. Great food, friendly service

My wife and I ate here today while shopping in Chester,firstly we were attended to immediately we entered the cafe, from what I could see it was spotless clean and service first class,I had the special quarter pound burger served with chips and salad ,wire had scone cream jam ,both had a lovely pot tea recommend this cafe absolutely first class will Defo be back next time in Chester

Very well located in the city, I called in with an unexpected 40 mins to kill, and was very impressed. Good range of food and drinks, very reasonably priced. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Would definitely go back.

El gran desayuno era particularmente buena relación calidad-precio, a las 7. 95 incluyendo una bebida caliente. El café estaba limpio, agradable y luminoso, con un ambiente muy agradable. Definitivamente voy a visitar el restaurante de nuevo.

Nos detuvimos aquí para desayunar durante una visita de fin de semana a Chester. Nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos y nos recibieron tan pronto como llegamos. Las primeras impresiones significan mucho. El desayuno se sirve con una sonrisa, bien cocinada. Mi esposa tenía el desayuno vegetariano que dijo que era genial. Nuestros cafés eran buenos también, agradable y caliente. Un gran café.

He estado allí dos veces y ambas veces tenía un buen ambiente. La gente y el personal que he conocido son personas muy agradables y amables. El chocolate caliente que tenía hoy estaba delicioso y parece que nunca puedo criticar sus desayunos. Los hash browns son siempre la mejor parte. Mi compañero también disfrutó sus pininis y siempre proporcionan el periódico local gratuito para leer si su compañero come lentamente. Vendré una y otra vez cada vez que pase por Chester con el estómago vacío.

Just had the best vegetarian breakfast. Plenty of it, scrambled egg was perfect. Price includes a drink too so excellent value for money.

We nipped in for a light breakfast and picked this cafe at random as there are a large number in the area. We were greeted with a friendly relaxed welcome.

With all the other restaurants in Chester seemingly closed after lunch so we went to the Eatery. The service was quick and excellent and the all-day breakfasts were of a very high standard. In particular the eggs were fried to perfection. You have to try them.

Love this place, Dog Friendly too!! Good hearty food, great value for Chester. I love the crumpets, but they also have an offer of 2 meals for a tenner.

My Sister and I are visiting Chester for three days. We were exploring the high street when we came across The Eatery where we stopped for lunch. We had a toasted panini and a scone and a couple of drinks. The food was lovely, the service good and the toilets clean. It is not a posh restaurant, but it is good wholesome food served in a friendly atmosphere which was just what we wanted.

With an hour to have lunch between trains and buses I called at The Eatery for a sandwich and tea.

Having a day out on chester, walking the walls and seeing some shops with the family. We decided we want to stop for a quick bite to eat but nothing quite as much as going to a restaurant. Passing various cafes we found this little café where the menu seemed perfect and fortunately it didn't disappoint. Great omlettes and portion sizes as well as a lovely sausage sandwich.

the place was very well run, clean and service excellent. The staff were friendly and polite. I had an omelette and I can say it was the nicest one I had ever had, so fluffy and light, really good, came with chips(was trying to be healthy) but they were worth the calories, My partner had a full English, he said it was good, he didn't have the hash brown, instantly the guy offered another piece of breakfast as a substitute.

Stopped of for a bite of dinner met by friendly staff served nice and quick had soup and sandwich deal which was good value served nice and fresh there was plenty other stuff on menu as well. Place was clean with plenty seating room

This is just a simple little cafe with a simple little menu but I have to say it is a lovely little cafe .....it's mostly snacks,butty and breakfast but the food is well prepared and fresh and I think good value for money especially for chester ....the guy who I assume runs the cafe was realy friendly and nothing was to much trouble ...I only had a cheese and onion sandwich but the Bread was lovely fresh and thick with no shortage on the filling .....nice to get a decent butty somewhere for once ....realy can't fault this place and can see us calling back next time were in Chester .

Please give this place a visit. A small but perfect place to eat. Good service, good quality produce, good prices and it also has a lovely warm atmosphere. Just returned from a weekend in Chester and both mornings it came up trumps with breakfast. It also serves a great gluten free full English breakfast, with gluten free sausage and gluten free bread. The coffee was also great. It set us up for the day with no need to eat again until late in the evening.

First, I agree the chips are among the best I've had, cheesy chips at that!! Simple fair but full of taste. Very pleasant service. Not among the normal eatery streets, worth checking out. 10 out of 10.

My wife and I visited the Eatery yesterday morning. On arrival we received a very warm welcome from the gentleman serving (I'm guessing the owner). Being very hungry I ordered the large breakfast and my wife the normal English breakfast. Cooked fresh to order the food arrived after a reasonable time and didn't disappoint. The quality was great and offered great value for money in lovely surroundings. I would highly recommend this place.

Fantastic little find in Chester, called in for a late morning breakfast with my family . Service was friendly and the food was good. I had a full breakfast, my wife the ham, egg & chips and my two children the lasagne and a panini, all very good. Happened to steal one of my wife's chips and wow they were fantastic, crispy and cooked to perfection. All at a good price. Would recommend.

Polite service, food arrived quickly. Reasonable breakfast for the price. We felt baked beans had probably been prepared in the microwave as they were extremely hot and "dry". Felt some of the ingredients were probably not top quality, but then again it wasn't expensive, and considering that I couldn't really criticise anything. If I was in Chester again I would come here if I wanted a "no frills" breakfast fast.

Discovered this place after taking a city bus tour. Enjoyed bacon and sausage buns. Easily accommodated one of our group who is gluten free. Very pleasant staff. Well worth popping in.

Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich, das Essen war prima. Ein typischer englischer Tearoom.

When to Chester today, wanted somewhere where gluten free food was sold, my daughter had gf sausage egg chips and peas, she said plates could have been bigger but she really enjoyed her meal, I had fishcake chips and beans both meals where £5:95 or two for £10:00, and we had a pot of tea as well, came to £13:20, and a chippie wanted £8:00 just for chicken and chips, this place was lovely, staff where friendly and good value for money

We got greeted by a friendly man when we entered couldn't be more helpful and polite The breakfast is all day, I had bacon and egg on white came in a big portion filled me for the rest of the day. Hot fresh food reasonably priced with little waiting time. Would visit again on my next trip to Chester.

We called in for breakfast. My wife is a coeliac so we were very pleased to see that virtually everything can have a gluten free substitute (at no extra cost may I add!!), food was excellent and not greasy. Even the hot drinks we had were included in the price. Nice and cosy place with friendly staff, I highly recommend visiting here especially if you have a gluten allergy. They have gf paninis and sandwiches also. A little gem that offers good quality food at a fair price.

My daughter and I visited this cafe for lunch in Chester. The service here was exceptional, the staff were efficient and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We ordered a couple of paninis which were very nice and served with tortilla chips salad and coleslaw. The portions were a reasonable size and good value for the price. The toilet facilities were adequate.

We only popped in for a quick lunch after arriving in Chester but really loved what we found. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, very helpful. Food was served quickly and was a really good standard, well worth the money, especially the lasagna from the specials board.Generally an all around good choice if you want to visit a cafe in Chester.

The breakfasts are spot on perfect, no grease and well presented. Portion sizes are also spot on. Not too large but plenty. There is also an option to upsize. We were in Chester for 2 days and came across The Eatery by chance. Pleased we did as returned for breakfast for a 2nd 'all day breakfast' the following day.

This not the first time we have been to this café but it is under new management.My husband and I was so impressed the service and atmosphere was brill. The café is so clean and we both had the full breakfast which was delicious. It's the first time we have found the food really hot and even the beans. We will definitely be returning.

My partner and I decided to skip the high street chain options for a spot of lunch over Christmas and instead opted for The Eatery. My boyfriend is acquainted with the manager and thought it would be a great idea to visit and support him. I happily went along.We were warmly greeted as soon as we entered the cafe. This wasn't because we knew the manager; it was clear every customer was being treated in the same welcoming way, which is great to see.Even though it was very busy, we were seated right away. The service was quick and efficient; we were quickly asked for our drinks and food orders, yet not rushed. My boyfriend opted for the all day large breakfast, which arrived in good time, was well-cooked and hot. I chose the soup of the day (carrot and coriander) with some brown bread and crumpets on the side. This also was served quickly and piping-hot. The bread was thick and crusty, and I also received plenty of butters and jams. The soup was just delicious. We shared a pot of tea which was also really tasty and great value (it came free with the large breakfast!) Both of us left with empty plates and felt comfortably full and satisfied. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place as an independent alternative to the standard high-street chain restaurants and cafes. The prices are reasonable in comparison with a lot of other places in Chester, and you receive friendly service and lovely food. What's not to like? Will definitely be back.

Welcomed as soon as we stepped through the door. Lovely customer service. Both me and my husband requested things not listed on the menu and it was no problem at all. Hot chocolate was lovely. We are visiting chester on a night away following our wedding, this is a lovely little cafe and I highly recommend it.

My wife and I visited for breakfast following a recommendation.The greeting was very warm and welcome, drinks were ordered and promptly served. Our breakfast order was taken and delivered soon after. The food was really well cooked and served piping hot. The manager was very engaging and made us feel very welcome.It was noticeable that the place is very popular as they had to turn way a number of people and the cafe was full.This will be our go to place when in Chester

Called here today for lunch with family. My husband and I had toasties which were served with small side salad and corn chips plenty of filling and delicious. My daughter and granddaughter had all day breakfast again really nice. My grandsons had sausage sandwich and fish fingers and chips empty plates says it all. Ideal location right in town and pleasant staff and a lovely pot of tea. Will be back on next shopping trip.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful meal with great staff. The full English was definitely up to scratch and it was a great stopping point to fill the hole in such a lovely town. Would recommend coming here.

Me and my daughter come to this cafe everytime we go into Chester. The food is absolutely gorgeous, what's nice about the food is,that most of it is Homemade,the Veg is so fresh.There is ALWAYS Specials on the Menu, and i find the staff always go out of their way to accomodate their customers.we enjoyed one of the meals there and the lady who does the cooking even made us one for next time we came in.if we had to make a fault.....it would be.....The portions could be bigger...but thats because the meal is soooonice.But....our main fault is......The Drinks Prices! They are way too dear :((

We visited Chester for my son's graduation ceremony and needed somewhere to grab a sandwich. Wandering by we decided to call in and so glad we did. Whilst it is not the fastest service the quality of the food we had was wonderful. Very tasty sandwiches and toasties along with a good cup of tea.

The food at this cafe is very good value for money and reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly (excellent service) and the cafe is very well managed and very quick at serving. The Eatery sells delicious food and the scones are very tasty, I would extremely recommend this cafe to anybody who visits Chester.

Visited The Eatery for breakfast. Served fresh and hot. Bigger helpings over at Wetherspoon's, but definitely not as fresh! They do scrambled eggs too - most breakfast menus stick to fried eggs, so I liked this!
