Lovely brunch place and exceedingly good pastries, a little pricey but good value for money in my opinion. The Turkish Eggs and the Full Spanish are both amazing options.

I used to walk past the early bird and noticed that it was almost always busy, with all types of people. So my curiosity got the best of me and I went for a meal. That was one of my better ideas, They did not disappoint. Everything we had was nothing short of excellent. The service was very friendly, I can not fault them. My advice is to try it for yourself, you will NOT be disappointed.

This gem of a bakery is always a delight to visit!! The cakes and pastries are incredible, we love that they change every so often but keep the favourites. The dine in menu changes monthly and offer a range of delicious brunch style options. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We have tried other bakeries and brunch venues in the area, but always come back to this one! It does get really busy on a weekend!

It what keeps me returning frequently! …can’t possibly eat through it all in a single sitting lol Food is absolutely amazing!…every time!! Have now successfully trained my stomach to fit in a cake afterwards. So many tempting me with each visit in the displays. Top tip if you’re wanting to try everything…. Go with a few hungry people, order various things to share and dive in!! You can also take away the sweets, which admittedly I did 🫣 Previous 5* review still accurate but am attaching June & July food & cake pics as evidence 😂😂😂

Possibly one of the best breakfast and brunch spots, staff are polite and friendly and the service is excellent. The food has been on point every time we have been there. The hot chocolate and marshmallow, you won't find better anywhere. We had the Turkish eggs several times, each time it was amazing. The strawberry and yoghurt toast was fantastic, and the range of pastries absolutely amazing.

Delay in writing this but, here it goes vibe? Great, service? needs a little improvement, but very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Food? Wow!! What can I say it made up for the waiting outside. I had the Korean spring greens when I came, my partner had the Turkish eggs which also looked amazing.

It’s a Bakery, but it’s so much more than a bakery!! The food is soooooo good😋😋😋, and the staff are really friendly too, in a nice relaxed fashion. The menu has a limited number of items on, but this is where the limited ends! The food on offer is really interesting and there is something to please most people. Hand made sauces and perfect combinations of flavours make for utter deliciousness👌. The coffee is good too. This place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but i guarantee you won’t be disappointed when you step in😋😋😃

I been coming to Early Bird Bakery for a few years, since moving to the Midlands. I have tried to range of Pastries, Cakes, Brunch dishes and coffee! It is simply the best brunch in the area! The dishes & flavours are very different to your standard brunch like Avocado on Toast. Every time I come back it just gets better! There is always Gluten Free, Dairy free and Vegan options! The coffee is always very good! The staff are so friendly even when incredibly busy! There are normally queues out the door! There is a reason why it is so busy! Just love The Early Bird!

Unique, exquisite taste to the mocha! Renowned for it's freshly onsite prepared pastries, 'The Early Bird' was surprisingly very pleasant. There is sometimes a short queue outside at peak weekend times, alas, success breeds certain minor problems. What stands out apart from the standard of the product, is the exceptionally polite & neatly turned out staff, an owner & head chef with a personality - which clearly resonates and impacts the staff. Quality personnel is important. Of course, this is my personal opinion but the place overall still attracts & retains a certain middle class professional clientele - The traditional 'Bohemian Moseley '! Unlike most other coffee shops in Moseley & Kings Heath. For many, this is a very important aspect of their coffee shop experience. It is a place you can sit and enjoy with out encountering the more undesirable members of society, pitching camp beside you. Just two negatives: The size of the cup (volume) is small for £3.60. Also no loyalty cards exist. The latter should always exist as an appreciation of customer loyalty. I reserve comments upon the food as i have not eaten there but it looks and smells delicious. I strongly recommend 'The Early Bird' if you want a traditional & quality experience.

As much as the place is known for its cakes, which are amazing, what really strikes me of the Early Bird is the brunch food. I am what you can call a ‘regular’ as I am there most weekends. This is for 2 main reasons. The first is, of course, the food. I have tried burgers, scrambled eggs in toasted croissants, their famous Turkish eggs and so on and so forth. The way the meat is marinated before being cooked, the handmade sauces, the combination of flavours: the care given to the food is rare for a place that is considered a bakery and cafeteria. The food at the Early Bird is some of the best in Birmingham, in any category, no doubts about it. The second reason I keep visiting is the staff: Denisa, Maria, Amber, Freya, Elle, Ellie and even the chef Murray: every time I visit, I am recognized, welcomed, smile at, called by name. They take the time to actually speak with their customers, they don’t only take orders and prepare your bill. They treat you as a human being. I have worked in Hospitality for ten years and creating an environment in which you’re made to feel that you belong is rare. Thank you everyone and keep going strong.

I’ve heard some very good reviews about the Early Bird Bakery and thought that I’ll go and try it out myself but I was a little disappointed. Firstly, I would say that this place has nice drinks, pastries selection and hot food too however the customer service wasn’t great at all when I visited. When I got to the bakery, I found a place to sit very quickly by the main counter (I know that some people have to wait outside). The waiter said that she’ll give me a menu when she greeted me but it took nearly 15 minutes for her to bring it to me. And then only after 35 minutes I was able to place my order!!! I could see that this place was very busy and it was their peak-time (9.30am on Saturday) and two waiters were trying to serve people and one girl was serving at the counter.. finally, when the food arrived, the waiter apologised to me saying she she didn’t see me sitting and waiting in the corner, whilst I was looking at them every couple of minutes for them to realise that I’d like to order… I think you need more staff during peak-hours as this wasn’t a pleasant experience at all. Not sure if I want to come back but overall — food was good, coffee was ok but customer service is poor :(

The experience was not the best, I don’t know why but I asked the staff if vegan food is prepared and cooked separately from meat and dairy etc. The lady at the till was unsure which was worrying, she asked another staff member a man he also was not sure and said “hmmm yes we wash the pan in between cooking”. I don’t see why you can’t have two ones and chopping boards which you should have regardless to prepare veg and non veg food.

Express review I discovered this place a while back in Birmingham. It's one of the few places in Birmingham where you can actually get a decent breakfast or brunch. The staff is also welcoming and accommodating. The place is a bit small, and at times you may have to wait for a table. However, I can assure you it's worth the wait. The menu is small for breakfast and brunch, but their desserts are delicious. They've managed to make each item on their menu unique, turning simple breakfast food into something special. I often order their Turkish breakfast, and the chef's combinations of ingredients elevate this traditional Turkish dish to new heights. The only downside is that the place isn't in the center of Birmingham, but they've opened a new branch in the city center called Perch. I'll review that one next.

Ignore the nasty reviews! Yes it’s busy but that’s because it’s awesome! The cakes and patisserie items are amazing (S’mores cookie is just outstanding!) and the hot breakfasts truly wonderful. Believe me I’ve tried to find other places closer to home (it’s a 30 minute drive for me) but nothing comes close. The skill and attention to detail is just phenomenal. As for the rude comments about the staff - I can only assume this person has never actually visited the place and is just trying to find a way to say hurtful things. My husband and I go every week if we can and the staff are always so lovely. They are always cheery no matter how busy they are and seem to love what they do. Don’t listen to the haters! Best place to have breakfast/brunch lunch in Birmingham - just a fact!

Very overpriced for the portions, and on top of that they add sneaky service charges. Found myself paying £27 for a piece of toast with some chicken on it and a pint, felt ripped off completely. While the food is nice, there are plenty of other better options in the city centre.
