A good place for a dinner or just a drink in the city centre. The staff were all lovely. The tables upstairs are better but last time we were with a baby so had to sit downstairs. There were quite a few highchairs available as well as activities for the children. The food was served quickly and everything was tasty. Ladies room and the entire restaurant was very clean, despite that it was quite busy on Sunday evening.

Came here for lunch.Had the chicken and ham salad and a coke.Quicly served the meal served it's purpose.Fairly comfortable j d wetherspoon pub.

Can't believe how bad this place was. Burnt dried out burgers, waiter spilling drink with no apology. Dirty sticky tables. Never going into a Weatherspoons ever again!

Absolutely disgusting food. Burgers looked & tasted like they'd been triple cooked & left under a heater. Four meals - four different portions of chips. Waiter spilt a drink - no apology or attempt to wipe it up.

I am totally loving all Wetherspoon as the service is standard across all their restaurants and pubs. The food was served hot which is comforting when the temperature outside is 2C. Place was crowded when we got in - could only mean that locals and tourists alike love Wetherspoon.

I had spicy wings today ! This time was different. It was squishy and did not really enjoy it . It's been twice I feel the same way .hope it goes well

It's a Wetherspoons so it's what you would expect really. Loads of menu options, basically anything you can think of from Indian to burgers, nachos to jacket potatoes and most things in between. It's just a great value option particularly if you have kids. I took my three kids in the school holidays on a Friday about 12.30. There were plenty of seats upstairs although it's worth noting that there is a weird rule that under 12s can't go upstairs. It wasn't really clear why. Downstairs there were fewer seats so if your kids are under 12 might not be the place for you. Ordering is really easy, all down through the app which works pretty well and the food and drinks are brought to your table which is all super convenient. All in all my three kids had a main meal each as did I and all of them came with a free drink. It came to £36. Can't really go wrong. Thoroughly recommended. It's not gourmet but it's much better than Macdonald's. Can't really beat it when you are out and about with the family.

Visited here last week with some friends and was one of the best wetherspoons I've been too. The food was cooked really well and the staff were amazing. We were frequently served by Jack who made sure everything was perfect and had a good laugh with us!

Good example of a Whetherspoons done right. Lovely staff, good beer, didn't have food but I suspect it's fine.

Don't know about food as I don't eat

I ordered a lot of food and drinks today, the staff members who served us were fine. However, when we finally took a mirror picture, that also took us 7 seconds to take one picture but a lady working at the bar said, "Don't take pictures and move out fast." I felt really bad about it and had never experienced such behaviour in my entire life.

An excellent place for beer and light food with friends n town. Prices are normal foof is delicious and the view is marvellous. Only an advice please when customers leave clean the tables don't only take the glasses away!!

Very nice place for people who want to go out for a drink 🍸 and food🍔🍕🍟, instead of a takeaway. We always stayed outside, enjoying the sun and the views of the council house and other buildings around. Accesibile prices for everyone.

Lovely big pub and large beer garden

Didn't eat here, but had a couple of drinks. The tables were cleared promptly when people left and the staff seemed very happy in their work. A lovely place to enjoy a few drinks and the food looked lovely. Would definitely return.

Nipped into The Earl Of Mercia for a drinks break while visiting Coventry. It's a Wetherspoons and everything you expect from the chain is right there, all of it. Crappy carpet, wobbly chairs, a few booths, route march to the loos, some staff who look like they got out of bed on the wrong side and some who look about fourteen years old. You know where you are in a Wetherspoons. The Earl is no different and so we fetched our own coffees and settled down for a rest. A perfect acceptable wat to get a brew for next to nothing and put your feet up.

Great beer and food and excellent service. All four of the staff who dealt with me were exceptionally friendly, helpful and professional (11.45am to 12.30pm if the manager is taking notes)

Great price on drinks and some outside space near the council house. Not a bad place for a few drinks before Godiva festival. Food is available (although we ate elsewhere).

I (We) went in here for drinks before I attended my driving theory exam; put a lot of ice in my apple juice. Drinks were enjoyable. Staff were friendly upon arrival. The place is relatively clean also.

Went for lunch twice while visiting Coventry. Food was decent for the price and out quick. Would definitely go back for lunch when I’m next in Coventry.

Very nice environment. The work was amazing exactly how I wanted my tattoo to be. The professional artist was very detailed in the design and her company very nice. I will definitely visit her soon for my second tattoo.

Nice spacious two level pub. Pity ladies toilets are upstairs.

As a Weather spoon it was fairly standard. Food was good, beer was good, price was great compared with most places now a days. Very busy and quite noisy, but there were a lot of people in. I'm in a wheelchair but found it easy enough to get to a table and toilet. Door staff were very helpful.

Definitely better atmosphere and customers than the flying standard around the corner. Staff are great and the views from the window seats upstairs are miles better. If you want cheap reasonable food and great prices on drinks then wetherspoons it is.

I ordered food and drink and had to wait 20 minutes for a beer after I finished eating. Other than that it was Ok. It would be a much nicer experience if only I came for a drink. M

The young lady behind the bar gave us excellent service, she even remembered our round of drinks the few hours we was there. She made us feel welcome. She even advertised us on different shots which were very nice. I've since found out her name Oliwia Lach. Would like her to be Recognised as young people today are never really praise for the hard work they do. Also the manager was a lovely man too

Had breakfast here before I did my theory test a few doors away. It was a good experience, the food was well priced and the service was excellent. I passed my test!

Dropped in for pint and a burger, the usual Whetherspoons food standard...modest quality but that's what we expected. Writing the review really to praise the 3 female members of staff we encountered whilst we sat upstairs on Bank hol Monday around 5pm. They were friendly and service was quick. Thank you.

Service was quick and efficient, staff were polite, food was slightly disappointing, portion size of the extra I paid for was a bit stingy. But besides that had a great time.

We arrived here after a lovely early evening meal out at a restaurant in a city centre venue… The time was approx 9. 30pm.:.we are all 58 years old plus.. a group of two couples… when one gentleman went to the toilet he got cornered by a bouncer.. who accused him of vaping.. this person is very anti smoking/vaping… we were all asked to leave.. I was drinking Pepsi max!! This is absolutely ridiculous..

Nice spacious pub, good food and prompt

The size of cod and portion of chips in fish and chips were small compared to other weatherspoons I visited. The beer ordered was flat and never tasted as original ordered brand.

Went for a group breakfast, I used the app to order, everything arrived quickly, only issue is you can't make any change requests on the app but some of our party ordered at the bar and they were happy to make changes. Free refill hot drinks was a hit and the decaf coffee was very nice. Had the traditional breakfast, was hot, tasted fresh and was well cooked. Service was fine, very polite. Very reasonably priced. Would go again.

Excellent pub in Coventry's city centre. A very nice ambient inside a beautiful building with a fast service and friendly staff. The food is great and the price is cheaper than other places. The beer selection and the menu options are also good. I recommend if you are around visiting the historical sites in Coventry.

Brought the kids here for some food at 5PM on Monday 18th December 2023 Denied food service due to the kids be under the age of 12 Seated upstairs due to the bar area being busy and no tables available. Ordered drinks but denied food service Very poor service

Great fast efficient service only real issue was that the staff member bring the food out did inform us that the food was very hot and to beware.... sadly not an issue as it was nearly cold. Otherwise fairly standard fare.

My friends and I popped in for a drink before we caught the bus back to Birmingham. A lovely pub, good atmosphere and it was packed even at 4.30 on a Saturday afternoon. There was a little Christmas market opposite with an amazing fibre optic Christmas tree there. Coventry is a very lovely little City, lots of history and the old cathedral ruins which were bombed in WW11. Still beautiful and you can wander around it.

Great atmosphere, staff were brilliant even though it was heaving but the halloumi fries? Speak for themselves really!

Drinks reasonably priced as with virtually all Wetherspoons, staff friendly and polite ...but food awfull ..had fish and chips...fish dry overcooked and shrivelled... chips cold... not even lukewarm

If you're people of color, I suggest not visiting this place. The staff was very rude to us. We were there just to have our dinner, but the staff gave us a hard time just because one of our group didn't have a photo ID. We tried to convince them to let us finish the food, but they dragged us out. Would not recommend this place.

This spoons for me was the best spoons in Coventry out the 4 we visited

We were just having lunch and the guy came up to us saying that we need to leave. We politely said that wr will leave after finishing our dinner but the guy was so rude and racist that he came back again and argued with us, forcing us to leave the place which is totally not accepted. He was the shift manager for the day 20/11/2023. I never expected this kind of behaviour as we have already paid for the food and atleast accept a decent service from the employees. Please have a look at your team and recruit people who are not racist.

We have been visiting this Wetherspoon weekly since September 2022, but tonight, on November 20th, we experienced terrible service from the shift manager. Within an hour, the staff checked our IDs THREE times. Despite agreeing to leave after the meal due to ONE PERSON not having ID who was only there for Food, the shift manager behaved rudely, forced us to leave, and insisted on making our order takeaway, denying us sufficient time to complete our food. As regular customers, we do not deserve this inhumane treatment. This shift manager is the worst and most unkind we have ever encountered in our lives..

Shame about the local thug who was screaming, shouting & threatening... That cleared the place out a bit !! Usual great prices

Typical Wetherspoons with comfortable interior and upstairs. Usual Wetherspoons food menu at good prices and usually a good range of real ales. Can be very busy midday and evening with students at Coventry University.

Food wasn't great (a flat burger with no salad or fries) but then I guess you get what you pay for.

Excellente nourriture. Service rapide et bien organisé (relever son numéro de table avant de commander au bar). Personnel à l'écoute et sympathique. Seul point négatif : le bruit, comme dans tous les lieux de restauration en Angleterre. Les 3 toilettes (handicapés, hommes et femmes) à 3 endroits différents !

Sorry for the late review. A big shout to Jeanette, or server. She has done a brilliant job and one of the best waiters at wetherspoon I have seen. Actually cleaning the tables and keeping on top on dead glasses. First time I had an empty table at wetherspoon in years.
