I went in lunch time for food. Don't be fooled by the Facebook menu say they serve food every day. I was told not on Monday or Tuesday. It is very annoying to read they serve food and then go there to be told NO. This is false advertising.

been here a few times in past s d never had a bad meal. Tonight was different. We T for the surf and turf and the steak was inedible ! Just full of griddle and couldn’t cut through it Pointed this out to the waitress and she just said she would tell the chef ! When she later came with bill nothing had been nicked off. When I asked about this she just said well the chef could cut through it !!! Made me feel like I was trying to rip them off. !! If it had have been edible trust me I’d have ate it. In the end she did knock some off and may aswell Have threw the bill on the table ! No apology just made to feel like it was my fault. ? Such a shame as I’d enjoyed it in the past but won’t be going back , I wasn’t expecting miller and carter standard steak for the price Just for it to be edible !!

This was always an OK pub but nothing to write home about. We popped in a couple of days ago for the first time in a few years and it's been transformed. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are very welcoming. Oh, did I mention they have Timothy Taylor's Landlord on draught? No? Well, they have Timothy Taylor's Landlord on draught and it's very, very nice. There is a loyalty card system in place and we will definitely be returning here again. Few pubs have the social aspect these days but this one is a place you can have a quiet drink or a laugh and joke with the other customers. This is what pubs used to be like years ago. Well done to Dean et al.

Food was lovely but the Eagle is a strictly locals type establishment , locals looked at us as if we didn't belong there

This pub has everything I could wish for from a country pub, and more! The pub is in the middle of the village and appears to try to be part of village life. It has been well furbished, with various cosy nooks. The staff are very welcoming, with a good range of drinks on offer behind the bar. The icing on the cake is the restaurant. The chef and staff produce a very high standard of food at an exceedingly good price, served by a polite and efficient member of staff. I had a cajun hanging chicken kebab. Beautifully cooked meat, well seasoned, served with fries and a fresh salad. Two servings at £12! How is that possible? Amazing. I have booked to visit for a Sunday roast with my family, and we can't wait! I would highly recommend this establishment.

Great menu great food. Absolutely delicious food and the service was great too. Lovely selection of starters, main course and sweets. The cookley bacon sausage is to die for and my steak with all the trimmings is excellent. Cannot fault anything. Thanks guys see you next week.👍👍👏👏👏

The Sunday roast is amazing, and I’m not a Sunday roast fan. Everything was fresh, portions were ridiculously generous and the friendly service was very welcoming. We had no room for pudding! We had mushrooms and pate to start followed by pork and beef dinners. Will be a monthly pilgrimage from now on 👍👍👍👊🏻

Excellent food. All courses were delicious . Great staff too and prices. Usually here for Sunday lunch but popped in for a Thursday lunch. Excellent choice on menu but went off Thursday special menu. Excellent. Will have to return to try other menu.

Popped in tonight for a few beers and a snack, very nice friendly atmosphere, beer was good and very reasonably priced. We had 3 rolls as a snack , cheese , ham and chicken tikka , they were outstanding value and very tasty. My wife was particularly impressed with the quality of her ham roll, she commented how good the ham was. An easy 5 stars from us.

Recently refurbished to create cosy and snug areas to sit. Looking forward to the new log burner being fitted. Great outdoor space for drinks. Food at the guest chef was Indian and was very tasty.

Excellent food. All courses were delicious . Great staff and lovely atmosphere. We each had a starter and the mackerel was delicious . Beautiful Sunday lunch and we were able to take the puddings home as no room to fit it in. Food cooked to perfection and always plenty of it. Well done everyone .

As someone who has lived in a variety of different countries around the world and whose favourite food is a rare rump steak I was delighted to find the Eagle, just up the road from where I am now living, can serve an exceptionally good rare rump. No doubt I shall return again.

Brilliant Sunday lunch. Three courses for £15! We had an amazing lunch, just like your mother used to make. Lovely starters to choose from and very tasty. Could not believe the thickness of the meat and each meal came with a Yorkshire, roast potatoes and roast parsnip as standard. Excellently cooked vegetables and more than enough for the two of us. Also had a jug of gravy. Too full to eat a pudding but luckily they do a takeaway so we were able to have it later. Due to health reasons we haven’t been for months but this will definitely be a Sunday lunch destination. Well done to Paul the chef and thank you to the staff for the excellent service.

Only came as meeting up with an old friend - didn't eat, so will save 5th Stat, til I've tried the food, but " free hot dogs" left over from the darts match has to be a good start. Lively but non- rowdy atmosphere, range of drinks (inc non- alcoholic) and helpful staff & landlord - seems a great local.👍👌

This is my new local and I have to say it’s absolutely amazing. They are just the loveliest people in there. I had a private party last night and the food was fantastic. Just before Xmas I booked 27 people in for food and they smashed that night too, everyone had a top night. Highly recommend to everyone 😁

Hadn’t been here for a few years and so glad we popped in. 3 course Sunday dinner for £15 is amazing value. Proper home cooked food no frozen / microwaved food here. Staff are brilliant. Such a warm welcome as soon as you walk in. The young guy behind the bar ( didn’t catch his name ) was hilarious. Total credit to the place. Would recommend and will defiantly be back. Was out on a walk and came across this pub hoping to grab a sandwich or something light for lunch. Well sat in dining area, and after seeing the menu which was limited, we ended up having a fantastic 3 courses for £15pp! The ministroni soup to start was hot (shame it didn't come with butter for the roll) and the garlic mushrooms with a garlic mayo/sauce was delicious. We then followed with roasted beef. Wow, it came with roast potatoes on the plate, but we also had new potatoes on the extra veg dishes that came, as well as extra gravy in a jug. We both managed to find room for dessert for a scrumptious rhubarb and apple crumble and a cheesecake. We couldn't believe all of this for £15 each. Staff very friendly and service was good. Dog friendly too Would recommend.

Came for a private event, using the function room to the rear. Walking through the pub area looked cosy, with an array of small rooms. Very clean. Function room was ideal for our purposes, and the staff were very accommodating.

2nd time I’ve visited The Eagle tonight since reopening a few weeks back. First experience me and a friend went for a mid week lunch and there was no staff about to take our orders, it was as if they weren’t open. Eventually I went to the bar to be told most of the things on the menu was out of stock Then a couple of weeks ago I wanted to book a meal for myself and friends for NYE, I called the number a couple of times to make a booking and it just rang out. In the end I popped in and a young lad behind the bar wrote down my booking, took my name and number but seemed quite unsure. He said if they weren’t doing food New Year’s Eve they had my number to call me. So tonight myself, husband and young back met our friends and kids for a New Year’s Eve meal we had booked for a couple of weeks to be told there was no food on tonight. Barely an apology and had no interest to find out which member of staff took our booking. It’s safe to say we won’t be returning to this pub anytime soon nor will we recommend to others

Since it's refurb the inside and beer garden are very nice and give a comfortable atmosphere.

Nobody in ! They had just opened up ! only pints were cheap enough. I was warm and cosy! Barman was Friendly!

Went in for a quick pint yesterday which turned into a bit of a session. They had a buy one get one free offer on. I love this pub, gaffer is always striving to keep his prices low. Example the HPA is £3 per pint. Friendly atmosphere with decent food.

After hearing about a new chef, definitely had to come and try the food which didn’t disappoint also a great atmosphere. Defo recommend.

Had a great evening and food. Fried Brie starter, sea bass main, beef stroganoff main followed by chocolate brownies with ice cream. All topped of with great service from the lovely team, going to be a regular for us

Called in for the Sunday Roast lunch and cannot fault it or the service in there. Seating area was clean and comfortable. Table service was excellent without being intrusive and ensured we had sauces or gravy needed. All cooked and tasted excellent. Dessert was also tried which complimented the meal. Sat for a while afterwards to enjoy a refreshment or 2. Very pleasant atmosphere to be in. Would definitely recommend and call in quite a few times.

Had a fabulous experience here with my family. We came to a Kids Halloween Party. They were so helpful and friendly and my girls had the best time.

Great little pub, cosy inside and good food too !! Great seating area out front and the back if you want a bit of privacy !! suns south facing so lots of sun 🌞 but lots of shelter too if you need the shade !! 💕

Called for a drink and was very disappointed. If there is one thing I can't stand is dirty glasses and my wine was presented to me in a dirty glass.

Dog friendly but not in restaurant part. Good standard of food, check service times before travelling though, OK drink prices..local crowd..clean and tidy toilets. Free darts and dart boards and has a pool table (£1). Pub has its own car park.

Visited Sunday 22/8. Dean the Landlord accomated 22 of us at very short notice and we all enjoyed our excellent vslue Sunday roast including 6 vegetarians/vegans. Will definitely be going back for food again soon with another friends get together. Thanks Dean and Team.

Booked in for fathers Day using the table booking system on Google. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Sunday roast dinner was delicious.

Beers a good, prices are good. However the service is terribly slow, we waited for half an hour to get served & then I had to go into the pub to get someone to take our order. Its a great little pub set in a lovely village.

Went to Eagle and Spur for lunch when we got there we were informed they wernt serving food that twice now we have been let down we had drink and left while we were there another 4 people left because there was no food .There was a street food guy outside selling tacos ect not what you would call lunch

Was welcomed in by the Landlord. Staff all friendly and the atmosphere in the pub was great. Pub was very busy which was good to see.

Arrived for breakfast with Santa 10 mins early. Were seated in a back room away from Santa and the restaurant. After 40 mins we had to ask to order a drink, rude girl said she was too busy and would be with us when she could. 20 mins later we asked again, and had drinks brought through 20 mins later and she was rude when we asked if we could have a spoon and sugar for the drink which we had to again wait for. We had to ask to order food and were told We would have to wait. At this point the place was empty. When we ordered we were still waiting 40 mins later. We decided we would leave after we could not find anyone and the children were starving by this point. A girl came out and we said we were leaving and she rudely said she would get the manager to settle the bill for the drink we had. He came out and said yes go fine. As we walked out he told the girl to 'put a mark on them!' A strange experience and the worst customer service ever. At no point were we checked on or even apologised to. Will not be going back and will happily advise others not to bother.

Really disappointed with breakfast with santa this morning. I have eaten here previously with the family and had great service. Today however was a completely different experience. We had booked in for 11am 2 adults and 3 children. We arrived at 10.50am the lady put us in the back room alone and pretty much forgot about us. The santa was amazing funny and very friendly towards the children. After waiting 25 mins we finally got offered a drink, which when arrived had to ask for spoons and sugar for the coffees which took over 5mins to arrive. After 20 mins no one had come to take a food order so I went to speak to the bar staff to remind them we were still waiting. The lady behind the counter was very snappy and dismissive stating " well we are obviously busy and what do you expect us to do when we have had a member of staff call in sick last minute" so I accepted that they are under some pressure and continued waiting. After 1 hour and 20mins waiting all of us starving we decided to go. After telling the bar lady we had enough and were leaving she said she'd get the manager who said "fine just go" then told the bar staff to "put a mark on our order" ? Very sad to see the Eagle and spur go down hill, with poor nonchalant attitude. Will not be returning or recommending. There was no one checking in on us or explaining or even a apology.

Hi all me and my partner just visited this pub ,lovely going in ,lovely landlord greeting, But seem to be a no mask policy ''''''' as we were sat enjoying a nice drink , as the little time went bye we could nit believe how there was no mask rule apparent with regulars entering what a joke we moved seats to help to keep are self safer as my man has cancer ,And all we want is to going out with all the safety without being in lockdown again. But this pub will suffer its lively hud cus they are not strict. X

Visited here tonight as we were in the area. None of the staff wore masks and there was not a lot of social distancing happening inside the pub so something to note if you are nervous of venturing to pubs/restaurants. We ate outside. We waited over 45 minutes for our food, to the point where I asked for a refund but the young barmaid then said the food was ready to come out so we stayed. When we did receive our food, gammon & chips and hunters chicken, it was tasty, piping hot well cooked and good value for money. No complaints there at all. Would have been a five star review if there was more communication from staff to tell us there would be a wait for our meals.

Lovely place but would not return due to a male member of staff being inconsiderate and rude to a really nice girl his colleague and talking to me and my husband in a very abrubt way needs training in customer care skills many places to visit with better staff than him we had a drink and were going to order a meal but after his comments left the pub and will not be returning

Booked a table though there website and arrived 5 minutes early. From the outset it looked a very nice and pleasant place, but then was told we didn't have a table booked. the manger said we can probably find you one but not for 90 minutes but hang on i will sort it, After waiting 15 minutes in limbo he come and said "you haven't booked a table" so i showed him the email confirmation and he said "that didn't matter what did you book it on?" and I repeated your own website he said "we didn't receive it and theres nothing we can do if you want to go to the chipy across the road and bring them back in here to eat your more than welcome"

Social distanceing rules in place plenty of hand gel young lady behind bar very pleasant food very nice .we called in today I had a pint of 1664 nice and cold a j2o 2 meals chicken gourjons chips and peas and a beefburger in a bun chips and a salad the beefburger was a proper one nice and thick and juicy and the total price was only 10.14 in my opinion way too cheap .asked if my daughter could take her dog in and was told yes so we will definitely be back 10/10

Booked a meal here yesterday for 6 of us, and have to say overall food was very good. Few downsides for us which I'm sure will improve with time. Considering we were pre booked waiting almost an hour after ordering for food seemed a bit excessive. Waitress apologised a few times, but a heads up that they're running behind at the start would've been fairer. My fish seemed a little small for a main meal (picture so you can judge for yourself) one of us had the curry which was very dry including the rice, but as its priced at £1.99 you really cant complain! Made full use of the Eat out to help out deal. Being seated not in main eating area was understandable due to Covid and spacing. Will go back again, and like I mentioned staff very friendly!

Lovely Lunch with good wine! Nice and cosy seats and good service. We will definitely be back soon for a Sunday lunch. We are also going to try mid week for a relaxed evening. Pinot rose was the lovely wine.

Tucked away in the small village of Cookley, not too far from Kidderminster, is The Eagle & Spur.The atmosphere is lovely and cosy, and the food brilliantly cooked by French chef Thomas, and served by Justine - a very attentive lady with a great character.This pub is a great find and well worth the extra bit on your journey.
