Beautiful fish and chips here , with a polite smile from the staff

I live in Bewdley so this isn't my usual Fish and Chip shop. Today was my first visit, after reading the positive reviews I thought I would give it a try. I am a foodie, I love quality food, for me, it's not quantity I am fussy the cod was the best I have tasted in ages, I couldn't even manage half of the chips, but they were also very good. Rest assured it will not be my last visit, excellent.

Very expensive for the area. I came from the Cotswolds where everything is a bit more expensive than usual...but the chips were pricey here in comparison and not all that great. The fish is just an absolute mind bending amount of money. So I just had chips. Which, were, ok.

Excellent food, great service. Only stopped for a kebab but everything looked good so hope it's a regular visit.

Just collected two large cod one reg. chips Gave it a go dinner time today after using others for quite a while since Mr Cypriot left Wow! Really really good The two fish cooked fresh in front of me, chips wrapped separate Fish was amazing, batter proper, light, and so so crispy, Chips just how they should good old fashioned chip shop chips! All hot, fresh and delicious Two ladies so polite and friendly Yes it’s £20 but when it’s that good ‘I’ll be back’ Definitely be back soon….. Cheers

Had a mini fish and chips, batter on the fish was crispy, really nice flavour, not greasy at all, chips and curry sauce was great too, sauce was thick not runny like most chippies

Been coming here for a while but unfortunately will now have to go elsewhere. The last 3 times the pies have been stone cold in the middle. We gave it the benefit of the doubt the first couple of times but they obviously don't cook them thoroughly. The last time we visited the fish was very greasy too & the chap doing the fish had just shook hands with someone who appeared at the back door. He went straight back to doing the fish without washing his hands! Very unhygienic.

As this place is under new management and has renamed as let’s get battered. It’s absolutely awful. The chips are like greasy little slugs everything on the show looks vile The thing is the staff know it as well definitely avoid unless you like paying £4.20 for a horrible greasy flavour left in my mouth.

We have been using this take away for years, first rate service and food. See you next week. Cheers.

I do not rate this place at all since new owners have taken over. It’s a shame as the old place and staff were fab. There were About 8 customers waiting to even have orders taken so was waiting 15mins to just order. Staff don’t seem to know what they’re doing, ran out of most things and curry sauce warmed up in front of us and got it home and it was cold. I really recommend people try elsewhere this is not worth the money at all. Had it not been my daughters food I was ordering I’d of simply just walked out.

Terrible new management. Don’t go. They might learn. Probably not though. There’s a reason that Neanderthals became extinct. The ordinary staff remain great because they were obv trained by the previous people but this new young boss - I’ve dealt with him twice and each time he was rude and ignorant. Tonight he’s refused to serve me. He simply refused to take a reasonable order. I’ve been coming here for over ten years, once or twice a week, without a problem. Ordering the same stuff. Tonight he refused to cook unbattered fish. “But my children have an allergy”. “We’re too busy”. Never had trouble with this before… and there were four people in the shop, two had already been served! If this bloke thinks that’s busy then he WILL drive this business into the ground. He needs to learn the art of customer service before he loses them all. Ten years, once or twice a week; I’ll not be back while he is there. Add up the lost profits you cretin

I have just made my first visit to Bewdley Rd Fish Bar since it reopened with new owners. I had a very large cod with chips and would go as far as saying they were the best in my life of 80+ years.8

Love everything about this place - the food, the prices and the great staff. They are so friendly and patient with my disabled son. I do a round trip from Bewdley to come here - driving straight past the inferior, yet more pricey Catchems End chippy..no contest!

Not a patch on the Merchants at Bewdley or Catchems End

Decided to pop in for fish & chips for the two of us. Really good quality fish - not too much batter - and we liked their chips aswell. The prices seem quite a bit lower than Bewdley chippies (wouldn't knock them though). Will definitely consider coming back here again.

The worst fish and chips I've ever eaten.Everything was dripping with grease and you could taste the cooking oil. Avoid, much nicer fish and chip shops nearby.

Lovely big cod and a friendly service.

Went to this chip shop on the way back from WMSF and its got to be one of the best fish chips weve had in a while good portions for great value of money. We had 4 specials for just over £10 which is cheap and were all stuffed, will definitely be back next time again for return trip to WMSF.

Best chips around always well cooked

This used to be a lovely fish and chip shop, not sure what's happened to it. The fish smelt so badly that after cutting into it the smell put us off eating it, the batter was soggy and had a gooey type texture between the batter and the fish. The potatoes were black and chewy. I'm afraid we won't be returning The staff are polite and friendly

Always on the lookout for a good kebab, I will try any chip shop that does kebab. Overall it was a fairly average size, with little to make it standout from any other chippies kebab

Pleasant friendly staff but slightly disappointing food. Appears to be very popular as it was extremely busy during my visit. There is an extensive menu with pricing fairly average. Take a visit and check it out for yourself.

Ordered two meals from here on Tuesday within a few hours I had symptoms of food poisoning went to the doctors and they confirmed it was food poisoning and this was the only place I ate from on that day I also asked them not to put vinegar on one of the items of food I ordered because the person who it was for is allergic which I explained to them so they didn’t make a mistake and put it on but when we got the food home it was clear there was vinegar on all the items of food that was asked for none on what a waste of my money

It's not bad only thing that let the place down was battered sausage didn't have much batter on it otherwise if was good

Large doner meat and chips, large apparently doesn't refer to the amount of chips and never microwave doner meat as it dries out easily, terrible compared to the last time I visited.

Have been a regular customer for approximately eight years, purchasing our weekly Friday evening meal for the whole family here. Cannot sing their praises enough; the food is always great, the prices are very reasonable, the staff are always friendly and cheerful (particuarly noteworthy considering the working conditions they have to endure with the current heatwave in mind) and have never had to wait too long to either be served nor for the food. Highly recommended!

Called for cod and chips and were glad we did. Huge skinless cod freshly cooked with large portions of really tasty chips. Inexpensive for the portion sizes and quality. Staff extremely nice and helpful.......thank you. Will definately call next time we are in the area.

Have been informed on numerous occasions it was fine to bring my dog into the takeaway , she is a well behaved Labrador. I was told tonight I could not do so again, as there where now signs to say so. Won't be visiting again as I am not shouting from the door what I want to order, I won't leave her outside alone at anytime.

Great takeaway not far from the camp site we were on. Lovely fresh piece of cod, very large and not one bone. Piping hot chips. Friendly staff and parking right beside it. Inexpensive for what we had.
