The Dun Cow Inn in Telford and Wrekin

Had our annual football party here again last night. As usual the grills, curries and side dishes were magnificent. Guys scoffed the lot ! Great atmostphere with sports on screens. All spot on with booking, service, drinks etc.. See you soon.

Eating out is not just about the food, and this restaurant needs to learn that quickly. We had no issues with the food; however no matter how good the food was it was spoilt by the service and staff attitude. We ordered our food at 20.15 and were served at 21.45. During this time no member of staff spoke to us or indeed apologised for the delay. Such a delay clearly impacts on our enjoyment; given that members of our family had early work commitments the following day. Our party spent over £100 at this venue and to experience a staff who were disinterested and not engaged in the total experience is not acceptable and poor management. As our food was served the waitress spilled some chips on the floor; instead of picking them up she kicked them under the table……..says it all!!! We will not be returning.

Nann bread greasy curry far to spicy to enjoy four bits of chicken in the tikka masala not sure what the grey powdery seasoning was on the tikka starter but tasted very bitter and sour if you don’t want your mouth burnt out go for mild curry when asked

Came here for food with friends and it was fantastic. Ordered the mix grill with extras. Yummy! Was delicious and took home a doggy bag. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Will be back.

This was my husband and i first visit our daughter took us for lunch here and oh my god it was amazing it was rhe best indian meal we have had in a very long time it was honestly gorgeous and the staff was lovely

Food and service is absolutely brilliant. However the stench of sewage was there for the 2nd time I have visited. Not sure if they have an issue with plumbing but I complained last time about it and it’s been at least 6 months since my last visit. Absolute shame as otherwise it would be 5 stars

Recommended by family to visit, really nice inside. Toilets super clean. Food is good pricing and portion size is just perfect. Had buttermilk chicken curry with boiled rice and loved it. The menu has large variety and cocktails are amazing. Would recommend to try for a good meal

Me and my husband come here every week and the food is phenomenal! We always get a grill and a curry, we always ask for punjabi style hot as we love spice! I have to say this is probably the best mix grill place I have been to and I have been to quite a few. Also, the staff are absolutely lovely!

We popped in and it was super busy so didn’t think we’d actually get in! There was a wide range on the menu and we had one of the wraps! It was banging! Filling but so good!

First visit here for many years, heard it had been refurbished and that the food was great, so thought we'd give it ago. There was 9 of us in total and we all had the Sunday roast as they serve the curry menu later on. Kids could have chicken nuggets which they opted for. All the roast dinners were amazing, we had beef and and lamb between us and there was plenty of meat, very generous portions and plenty of veg brought in bowls to serve yourself. Roast potatoes and parsnips were delicious. Tables all kept clean when people left. Will definitely come back and try the curry and other menu options. Staff also very kind and attentive.

The pub has been renovated and its looks amazing, very clean Food and environment is brilliant. Well done guys

We can not rate this place high enough the food is amazing and when we go we spend huge amounts but tonight for the first time it was not the same you really can not put Deb in the corner she needs to be in the restaurant and doing what she does best customer service, good food but lack of that great Deb feeling

Arrived 630pm to booked to table of 6 , sat outside as lovely night and went into restaurant at 655pm, table booked for 700pm for 6 including 2 adults over 85 and 1no disabled person,. on arrival in restaurant NO table for us even though had been booked 4 days in advance, lady behind bar was clueless what to do... To cut a very long story short sat down on a table for 4 and waited 1hr 50 mins before walking out. asked 3 times where meal was ,,,,,was told on way Absolute joke .. to round the night off young lady behind bar , was laughing Sorry but we where not ,,, have used many times but that will be my last.

Was recommended here by some mates won’t be coming back again - the Asian perverted lad who was behind the staff took ages to even serve he looked more intrested in the female bar staff and by the time he came round to serving me hell had froze over. - had a mixed grill and most of it was burnt. Waste of time waste of money do not reccomend

This family run pub and restaurant has been delivering the highest quality food and drink for years. They recently had a complete renovation. Im glad to report that both food and drinks have also improved, which I didn't think was possible. They are serving higher end beers and spirits. Indian grill is always on point. The recent lockdown hasn't stopped me and my family ordering takeaway. I should also mention the amazing traditional Sunday roasts, once lockdown lifts I cant wait to sit in with my family for a roast.

We have visted the Dun Cow several times over the last coiple of years, never been disapointed, the chicken tikka is to die for. Stsff a really courteous and its not that exspensive, Going again tonight! Table for 6 looking forward to a lovely meal and good banter with friends

It's safe to say this is my worst experience of a meal out post lockdown. I felt so uncomfortable and only stayed an hour to eat my food. So crowded, too busy. Noise controls non existent so I didn't find it relaxing at all as I couldn't hear what my party was saying to me. People just walked up to the bar without being challenged. People walking out of the way in. Had to walk through a busy bar to exit the pub. Where is the PPE? I used to like this pub but this has been a very negative experience.

Weve not been there for a while , but decided to pop in for a meal. The staff are friendly and helpful. The meals were excellent value for money .

We went to the Dun Cow for Sunday lunch. The staff were very friendly and our order arrived in less than ten minutes from ordering. We ordered the turkey which came with mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, swede, roast parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, peas, broccoli, cauliflower and lashings of gravy. It was very tasty and plenty of it. It was the best Sunday lunch, I have had for a very long time and would definitely recommend. We will be going back and can’t wait to try the Indian grill too.

I have visited this restaurant on several occasions, the last visit being on Saturday night. We pre-booked a table as it does get busy. We shared a "large" mixed starter between four. There was Fish Pakora, Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Chops and Shish Kebab. This was served on a sizzle platter with a bed of sliced onion. Absolutely delicious.The main courses chosen were Chicken Jalfrezi, Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Bhuna. Each of our party enjoyed the main meals we had the usual rice and naan breads to accompany them. You can select different spicy heats for each of the curries. I selected medium for my Jalfrezi and it was quite spicy. I have previously had hot and it was too spicy for my palate.The prices are very reasonable, the service is slick and we were made to feel very welcome as usual.

This was a great find when we were on holiday in the area. Great authentic curries, very reasonable prices, friendly and efficient staff, and parking. They also do steaks and other pub style dishes which looked tasty.

I went in July for a few beers and met up with a few friends, ordered a pint of Stella, just as I was about to taste it I noticed a vinegar smell from the beer, so asked the bar person for an alternative drink, apparently I found out the Stella has been a problem of being smelly for over a year but nothing has been done about it. The staff and owners seem to acknowledge it’s a problem but not doing anything about it. Terrible service won’t be going there again !!

1st time eating here very easy to find greeted by a friendly Bar Lady we gave our order for food which my wife and her sister found it very good I order a 8qz rib eye steak which was ok but not cooked to my liking i ordered med Rare but this was overcooked a bit I had a pint of Shropshire Gold Bitter beer which i found to be very flt and waterly taste will probably not there again

When we arrived, we was greeted with a very friendly landlady. It’s a lovely nice place with a good variety of food on the menu. I tried the mixed grill & my wife had the salmon, we was both over come by the quality of the food & taste. Going back to the mixed grill, probably the best I’ve ever had in my life. Yes we will be coming back in the week, even though it’s a 80 mile round trip.

We have recently had a takeaway from the Indian menu and eaten in from the English menu and both meals were spot on. The chicken Jalfreizi was hot and spicy with lovely freshly prepared nan, rice and popadoms. The sirloin steak was cooked as requested with a nice peppercorn sauce and the bangers and mash were very tasty with a homemade gravy. Highly recommend.

I have been here a few times so thought it was about time I wrote something about the place. The food here is great and certainly is plentyful with good sized portions. The selection of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks too mean you can have an all round good visit.

This is a modern pub with a decent car park. Inside there is a no frills approach. There is a good choice of beers and screens to watch the sport or music. Up until now that’s pretty much like any other modern town pub but the food sets it apart. The menu is a plastic laminated sheet but don’t let that put you off. The curries are brilliant they have a home cooked feel but retain the authentic Indian restaurant style. Each curry can be adjusted for heat on request. The Lamb jalfrezzi I had was one of the most tender lamb dishes I’ve ever had! Prices reflect the no frills approach making it great value for money.

We were at this restaurant with four other families for a Mother’s Day treat - for our wives. Like always we were never disappointed with the quality of food, and you don’t have to break a bank. Our friends were happy with our choice because my family suggested here. We were glad we did because it was fun time for the ladies, and the kids.

Local pub offers excellent food at reasonable prices. Great atmosphere, nice to have life in a place. Nothing too much trouble. Staff friendly and helpful.

We come here regularly, quite often with children too. It's very friendly, efficient service, great children's meals and fantastic curries, we would rather drive here as we know we will get a great meal. Naan bread to die for and can also recommend the sizzlers too. Highly recommended.

This pub is a great place to visit and enjoy nice food if you love Indian mixed grill this is the perfect place to visit. Landlord is very nice friendly man. Will definitely be going back.

As its the ONLY place we'd eat Indian food in Telford knew it was where we wanted to take my dad to celebrate his 84th birthday.

Food is amazing. We go often here we always have the same but have started to order an extra main to try. The staff are fantastic warm n welcoming. They go out of there way to make you comfortable and enjoy ur meal.

Walked in and had a great choice of meats. All Veg you could want. Great service. Highly recommended.

Called in on a Wednesday night which was fairly busy. Meat sizzler was excellent, great selection of meat and the fish was very nice. Masala chips were perfectly cooked, drinks were reasonably priced. Service was excellent, compliments all round.

Having been advices too try the sun cow we finally got around to booking a table with friends last week . It wasn’t too busy when we arrived but as the food came out it all looked fantastic , the lady behind the bar was warm and welcoming and even laughed at my sexy on the beach cocktail joke . 2 of our party had eaten earlier so we ordered the sharing platter , omg we could have shared it with the whole room there was so much of it . It was so tasty and a lovely mixture of different meats . All the staff are friendly and helpful and after several drinks ( perhaps too many ) we asked for the bill which we where surprised at we thought it would be so much more then the owner/ manager wanted us too have another round on the house ! Really enjoyed our visit and will deffo be returning soon too try some different dishes

Went on Friday 6th July to order a takeaway, was served by a very charming bar person, I ordered chicken tikka starter and lamb curry, the chef spoke to me in person how hot I wanted the curry which was medium hot. Price was reasonable around £13, waited for about 20-30 mins for food to arrive.

A very friendly pub with welcoming staff, great menu and drinks. Take away food. Family friendly sport and music on the TV.

Lovely inexpensive Indian Food .I had the gourmet burger it was massive very tasty. The Staff are very friendly and helpful . I would recommend The Dun Cow to anyone that enjoys a good meal

You really have to try this place- such large portions! The owner Bal- always has time to come and chat with you. There are several TV screens in the Restaurant and it is a very friendly place. The food is to die for! Well done to the Staff at the Dun Cow. Thank you see you all soon

Large dining area with easy access and 3 TVs showing sport. Nice glass of wine and large portion of dinner with lovely yorkie. Choice of 3 meats and several veg.

The Dun Cow was recommended by our guesthouse (Furnace House) and I'm so glad we followed up on their suggestion as it was one of the best meals of our trip. First impressions are of a rather ordinary local boozer and to be honest if it hadn't been recommended we probably wouldn't have gone in.

The guy at Furnace House recommended this place, and it was a good choice. It's basically a pub with the back room set up for eating (though still pub like). The food was excellent, the beer could have been better, the price was right. I would recommend it, just don't expect great real ale.

Having tried the weekday lunch 2 meals for £9.99 a few weeks ago, it was so nice we went back again this week. I had the steak and ale pie with chips and peas both times as it was delicious, the steak was so tender and one of the nicest pies I've had. My daughter had chicken burger the first time and fish, chips and mushy peas the second and she said both were lovely. Would highly recommend, very good value and quality food.

Visited this little place when travelling to see relatives this weekend, The best Sunday dinner eaten out in a long time, its just like going to your friends for dinner, traditional home cooked meal with REAL roast potatoes, absolutely flawless hospitality and service.

An excellent place for a meal. The staff where very helpful and friendly, the menu had a range of good pub food with a selection of Indian dishes as well and the prices for food and drink were quite reasonable.

Me and my partner visited on Friday evening. We we're quickly given a table although fairly busy. Ordered at the bar and told that food orders would be 45 minutes. (Food arrived within half an hour).We ordered an Indian grill and curry both very tasty and good portions. Friendly staff too. We will definitely return soon

Went to go here for anniversary meal. Pulled up outside to see a group of youths hanging around smoking right outside the entrance put me off straight away

Went for a meal with my partner and his parents.The meals we had were 2 gammon steaks, a quarter chicken and a chicken burger.All were hot, good portions and looked nice. Oh and tasted great!The staff were great, very friendly and accommodating. We all had a really pleasant meal and wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Myself and my wife called at,the Dun Cow early on a Friday Evening.We found the staff to very polite and courteous throughout our meal.I chose a medium Chicken Balti, my wife chose a medium Lamb and Chicken curry along with Naan Breads.Both curries were quite hot and I am glad I had not chose a hot curry as it would have been too hot for my personal taste.The curries tasted very fresh and were delicious as were the Naan Breads.We will certainly return again and have recommended to our family and friends.Overall: Excellent

We decided to go here for a birthday Sunday lunch at 1pm, we arrived and the restaurant was already heaving (glad we booked there was 9 of us) the bar service was a little slow but only to be expected as I feel getting the good out to people was probably more important.We first purchased drinks and returned with our food orders shortly after, I had the veggie option and everyone else went for Sunday roast with a mix of meats (not advertised but very accommodating) it did take quite a while for the food to come out but have to say the service by the young lad with braces was top notch very polite and very smiley. The food I have to say was hot, tastey and worth waiting for, so much so we had dessert, again a bit of a wait to receive them but very worth the wait.All in all a very enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend but be prepared for a wait if they are busy.

Well I must say I was pleasantly surprised today, booked the table for 9 people for Sunday Lunch and it was a lovely meal, the staff were pleasant and amenable, the restaurant was really busy but still the service was good,

Had Sunday lunch at The New Dun Cow yesterday after recommendations from some friends.Our booking was handled by who I'll assume is the Landlady. She was very pleasent to deal with and she greeted us upon our arrival yesterday. She is exactly the sort of person that you want to deal with, very professional, polite, happy and helpful. If I owned a restaurant I would employ her.We asked for a table near the restaurant entrance due to my Mother's mobility problems and our request was granted with no trouble at all.However, we did have to wait almost half an hour for our food to be served after we ordered. If the place was full of customers and short-staffed then it would have been understandable. But this was not the case.When our food arrived, two of our party were given the wrong meals. Beef and Lamb meals were transposed. Unfortunately as the meats of both meals were smothered in so much gravy, it was not noticed until both people started eating. However, after we notified a member of staff then this situation was dealt with efficiently. I had the Broccoli and Cheese Bake which quite frankly was delicious. No complaints about the food from any of us.I also noticed how efficient the staff were at cleaning the tables. No sooner had the customers left then a member of staff cleared away the plates and cutlery, cleaned the table surface and replenished the table with fresh, clean cutlery.However, it would have been nice if the person cleaning the tables had worn a belt or pulled up his trousers to a more acceptable position. While I'm eating I don't really want to see someone's Calvin Kliens while doing so.Altogether a nice experience, sadly let down by the points I mentioned but that won't stop me from visiting The New Dun Cow again at some point.

Booked for 6 adults on Monday night which is one of there Indian nights all the food was very tasty and well cooked the portions are huge I recommend the masala chips and the sizzler mixed grill even the small was a huge amount of food we left loads very good nann bread service was excellent would definitely return

Went today at 2pm for Sunday lunch. Had a lovely roast (even though they'd run out of beef!). It was really tasty and really reasonably priced!! It's a no frills pub but that was fine, friendly service and good food.

I used to regularly frequent The Dun Cow many years ago when I worked at MOD Donnington but had not been in for 30+ years. At lunchtime today I visited it again having seen their Facebook Page. VERY impressed by the Lunchtime Menu which proved to be great value. Good attentive service. Bar & Dining areas both clean, smart and well laid out. Well worth a visit. Evening Menu appears to be Indian but I intend to give it a try ASAP.

Tuesday night curry and to be honest wasn't expecting what we got. Curry was gorgeous and the masala chips are a must. Will definitely be back to check out the rest of the menu price reasonable as well you can't go wrong. Staff were great to.

Visited on Fri to meet up with friends, when they said we meeting at dun cow, i was maybe not expecting a lot, having been to the pub in the past when I was younger. Yes the same outside, and similar inside but fresher. Lots of people in on a Friday evening good sign? We ordered a bottle of wine not the greatest choice, but not overpriced, the menu was unexpected as it contained some great sounding dishes for me as a vegetarian. We ordered but took a long time to arrive, we happy to chat as lots to catch up on, we had a member of staff come to us and apologize for wait and gave us a bottle of wine nice touch! The food coming out looked great! When ours did arrive the flavours were lovely, great for me spicey, but really tasty not overpriced again and I can say I enjoyed my meal, no this is not the Ritz but does not pretend to be it's a decent pub/restaurant doing decent food and lovely staff, go and try the Indian or English menu I think you might be surprised!

I had my retirement party for 32, here last Saturday. I asked for hot food as opposed to just a cold buffet. They produced both; the hot curries (chicken, veggie with naans and rice) kept warm on heat plates were amazing. All my friends and family raved about them. The cold buffet which was both English and Indian was top notch; samosas, pakoras, masala chips (yummy), sandwiches, pork pie, sausage rolls etc.All this with reasonably priced drinks. What else could you want??The bar staff Deb and Vicki were attentive, friendly, helpful; nothing was to much trouble. They dressed all the tables too.The chef, Paul, with his assistant cooked the food to perfection; listening to our specific requests re salting and spicing.Bal and Kal, the landlord and landlady were both in attendance ensuring everything went smoothly.Can't praise them all enough.

This is a local pub that does western and Indian food, except on Sunday when they do Sunday lunch carvery and then only Indian in the evening. We were told that as Indian goes, it is very good, and it probably was, but I find any burn in my mouth from pepper or chili to be really unpleasant and uncomfortable, so I didn't enjoy the fact that it was curry night. The service was excellent. Friendly barkeep. Judging from the warnings on the bathroom walls admonishing patrons to behave or be banned, some unsavory stuff happens in this part of town. We saw none of that. I expect that if we'd been there for another meal, it would have been excellent.

Went a couple of weeks ago for a quiet drink.Not impressed with the beer.Decided to try a snack of bbq chicken wings.Not great so thought I would try a Sunday lunch in the near future as I only live around the corner.Lunch menu looked okay, served 12 to 4pm. Last orders for meal stated 3.50pmWent on 18/06/20017.Ordered pint on Shropshire Gold, it ran out whilst being pulled. Okay it happens so ordered a pint of Doom bar, that went too.After the barman into the bar for it I asked for a table, it's now 3.20pm so should be.okay. No we've finished now was the reply.With that I started to drink my pint to find it was warm, so left it on the bar.Will I be going again, absolutely not.

A great range of beers. The caffreys is by far the best in Telford. On the whole the food is great, especially if you like Indian food. Great value also!

Went here after stopping nearby, staff were friendly but not too impressed with the food menu as I don't like curry and didn't fancy steak so it was down to fast food after that.I'd say if you like curry/Indian food or steak you may wanna try it as the food that came out looked nice (my wife said)

Called today at 4pm after a bad experience at the Hop and Vine (they were not so welcoming re our 2 children). The young man behind the bar was so friendly and his Dad came over and made us feel so welcome. Food was amazing all fresh and hot. Masala chips were lovely a lot less greasier than at The Hop and Vine. Atmosphere was very comfortable. Overall a great experience.

We called in having read the reviews. Lovely home cooked curries, and incredible sizzler dishes. The Team are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Will definately return . The value is exceptional and you will not be hungry afterwards.

Been here a few times, the food is really good they do English food and Indian food. The English food is served from 10 till 4 and the Indian food is severed from 4 till 8. I have tried the Indian food i have tried the mixed grill and the chicken wrap. Lets just put it like this the food is very filling I normal go for drinks here to and the prices for pints are reasonable and sprits too.

Great meals once again, my wife & I had 2 mixed Indian wraps + portion of Massala chips. Really tasty food and inexpensive.That is why this is the best Indian food, eat in or take away in the area!

We eat in and have take away regularly from here. Had a take away for 7 tonight, absolutely great! Can't fault it, which is why we eat here once a week. The Indian grill is really good, despite other comments!

I had been ill for awhile and my Grandma was taking me here for a treat because apparently they do a great Indian mixed grill. We got in and there was nobody at the tills but we didn't think anything of it straight away. We decided what we wanted and my Grandma went round to the pub area, because still no one came round the the restaurant bit. It was very loud, you could from where I was sat that something was going on, men getting loud and rude. Five minutes later she came over to me looking very annoyed. She told me some punters were being rude and mucking about and the man behind the counter was doing nothing. Eventually she caught his attention behind the bar and said where can i order food and the man said "We don't serve until 4" which was a lie, says on all the menus the Indian food started after 1pm. She stated that to him and he replied with "I don't know then" Grandma said "Well can I get food or not" and he replied with "I don't know then" she of course walked off annoyed. His lack of knowledge about why there was no food was ridiculous and not sorting out those disturbing punters and letting then wreak havoc while ignoring my Grandma was plain rude. Not coming back to this place with such bad customer service and lack of whats going on.

We have had India meal to eat in and as a takeaway which have always been superb at a reasonable price. I was told that the Sunday lunch was also excellent, so decided to pay a visit. Must admit it was absolutely gorgeous, being a vegetarian a lot of places cook in bulk and freeze them My meal broccoli, leak, mushroom cheese bake was freshly made. My husband had turkey and beef which was cooked to perfection as we're the vegetables. Definitely go again, full marks to the chef and waitresses.

A pub that used to have a bad reputation in the past now is a local must go to place! Went in the other night for a casual drink and a game of pool and decided to try the Indian grill food... Best decision I made, I really enjoy Indian food but refuse to go to all the other so called Indian restaurants in the area because of who they are run by and because it is halal food in those.The staff here are very welcoming, great prices and the portions are fantastic, me and a friend were feeling very hungry so we had the mixed grill, tikka massala naan breads and chilli chips to share! What a feast! Wasn't hungry until the following night!Very good value! Keep up the good work will be back again and use for takeouts very soon!

Tried the Sunday lunch for the first having had some lovely meals off the Indian menu. It was delicious, the beef was tender, beautiful homemade roasters and huge yorkshire pudding and a side bowl of fresh vegetables and jug of gravy. Would highly recommend.

We ate here Saturday evening, I ordered the sirloin steak, amazing price for a lovely meal, we will be back again, looking forward to trying the T Bone steak next time

What a lovely family atmosphere? The service is excellent, although you have to allow for busy times because the food is all fresh and delivered to your table by smiling, amiable, friendly, accommodating staff. I've made sure I visited this establishment more than once before rating it; four times in all. On average the service is excellent, the food delicious and well presented: vegetables both plated and served in a dish for you to add as much as you want; additional gravy in a boat for your convenience and sauces as required.The surroundings are clean and comfortable with a welcoming atmosphere.During my latest vist, I accidentally, knocked my glass of wine over and within seconds the owner was there mopping up the mess and ordering me another glass; he is so approachable and ensures his staff are reactive to your needs. A Few Friends & Colleagues, Gave Me Rave Reviews About This Place ,Since It Changed Ownership, So The Dragon & Myself Deceided To Bow To Their Wishes Sukhy,& Bal Took Over This Venue & Completly Transformed The Seating With Up To Date Furnishings ,It was Given a Deep Clean,Extensive Paintwork & Modern Kitchen We Went Down For Traditional Sunday Lunch, But Grills & Steaks Also Available Aswell As The Indian Alternative,Hence The Title. The Meal Was Mindblowing In size & taste First Class Meal,First Class Service,By Vicky, & Waiting Time Was Acceptable. We thought we would pop in to try their Sunday lunch and believe me it was exceptional. I had the roast beef with the usual trimmings and it took me back years! Just like my mother used to make, gravy with real meat juices and roast spunds to die for. It didn't do anything for my wife as she is vegetarian and dairy free but they even came up with a lunch for her too.While there we noticed a curry menu that's served after 16:00 daily so we tried that later in the week. The chicken tika masala was certainly one of the best I have had and plenty of it. My wife had a vegetable curry that suited her and she loved it. They have masala chips so we thought that sounds novel.. wow they were great. So my advice is give them a try they are really helpful and all you need to do ask.

My wife and I eat here regularly or have 1 of the many good takeaway meals. Since opening, the owner Bal has really strived to make this a family friendly venue and it is! The Indian menu is great and all cooked to you liking. Now also doing an English menu with great steaks! Sunday lunch now also available. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

The ambiance in the lounge dining restaurant was first rate. The service was very good and friendly. My wife had a Lamb Korma I had Chicken Tika Masala. Both meals were of the highest quality and both cost only £5 each. In fact, I had to check to make sure it wasn't a typo on the menu. It wasn't. That was all it cost! We each had a starter, some poppadoms (with excellent sauces) and some nice ice creams for deserts. My wife had a really nice Merlot and I had 2 pints of Guinness Gold ale which was nicely kept.They have spent a lot of money on the kitchen refurb and it was money well spent!

Had a meal in here last night with my wife and her friend. The food is fantastic! All freshly prepared and tasty. We will be making this a regular place to eat. Also provides a takeaway service. A lot of work and money has been spend on the place, its not the dump old pub it used to be!

The only good thing I can say about this pub following our visit on a Saturday night when it was absolutely packed, is that the lady behind the bar was very friendly (if she hadn't been straight over to serve us we'd have turned and walked out). That is more than can be said for the customers. It is rare that I feel uncomfortable in a pub, but I did on this occasion. I would avoid.

The place is very run down and is in need of lots of work. The place is clean and the new owners are very friendly and offered a good service! Hard to judge as this is still work in progress but it's 4 stars are for the friendly service rather than the pub itself at present. I am looking forward to seeing the progress :)

A friend and I went to the Dun Cow for a meal on a Tuesday evening as they have many advertisements claiming they serve food daily, when we arrived, to our disgust, we were told they are not serving food because the manager "didn't turn on the oven" We were horrified that they had turned away service due to laziness of the management. She was so rude and did not offer an apology. We are not surprised they never recieve any custom. The manager has no customer service skills, or people skills come to think of it. Anyone who is considering visiting this dump of a pub, I would strongly urge you to reconsider.

My wife and dropped in here for a drink and bite to eat as we were in the area.This place is very tatty and really run down and we soon made up our minds just to have our drinks and leave.Well we left without finishing our drinks, my pint was warm and cloudy and the wife`s glass was dirty around the rim.I would be a cold day in hell before I ever go in this dump again.
