Great food, good flavour and well presented without being pretentious. Great service and atmosphere. It's not the biggest place thought, but easy to book a table online.

Staying at a local caravan park as a stop gap on the way home to Suffolk. We decided to book a roast for the Sunday and also popping down for a few beers on Saturday. Decided on the roast beef and was NOT disappointed. The meal was beautiful, and the service was excellent. The apple crumble finished it all off nicely. Would highly recommend if you are in the area.

We booked a table for a Saturday, the front restaurant was reasonably busy when we arrived and got busier. The table was near the fire place and meant one chair had to be carefully placed to avoid half sitting on the hearth stone, the table kept losing one of the pads under it’s leg and this added to the slight precariousness. We ordered a bottle of rose and were delivered a bottle of white pinot. Waitress disappeared so quickly-she didn’t offer to pour or for us to sample, so we didn’t have time to tell her. It was still a nice bottle of wine though! Our food orders were taken by a second member of staff. I asked for something other than tomato and mushroom with my steak ( both veg disagree with me), the response was ‘like what’… little bit terse, and I don’t know what easy alternatives they have in the kitchen. The food was very good, the other person who had steak in the party felt that the steak wasn't quite medium rare, I thought mine was lovely. The fish platter and the crab Thermidor was thought to be the best order of the lot. Two of us didn’t think much of the thick cut chips, a little bit unrewarding . Puddings were nice but not remarkable . Beer on tap was good.

Lovely country pub with first class food and excellent service

A stop off point on our Saturday cycle around Lincoln and the surrounding area. The food was amazing. Beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Beer was good too.

Good evening although very busy. Slightly rocky start - lemonade instead of tonic, no ice in drinks then cold mussels for the main. Most food was tasty and well presented. Again underwhelmed by pecan pie. Others said their desserts were delicious. Service was quick and with a smile but no recognition of the issues we'd faced. Enjoyable evening.

Went in the other day for lunch and had the lasagna which as always was amazing and my partner had the Thai green curry which we highly recommend the service as always was outstanding never a bad meal or service and my go too 110% recommend everyone to go 👍

Lovely quaint little pub with delicious food and reasonable prices. Staff and service fantastic. Will definitely go back, we all really enjoyed it. I was sat with my back to the window and was quite cold - my only complaint! We had gone early doors before loads of people turned up so it felt cooler. I imagine with heating and low ceilings it would be red hot once full. Enjoyed the night.

Great little pub, delicious food

Just called in for a quiet lunchtime drink. Service and atmosphere excellent although it wasn’t too busy. Dog friendly too which is important to me. Beer was acceptable and “safe” without being something that I’d rush back for. Perhaps a Batemans beer or even the magnificent draught Bass, once common around here might be an improvement?

Food was sensational. Highly recommend the Pork Roast Dinner 👌🏻

Such a cosy place and the food was delicious. We had a large table, but all the food came out piping hot and at the same time. Staff were very helpful and on it with drink refills and checking everything was ok. Lovely place to go for a meal (get the lasagne!).

Excellent food and choice, service was great even though they were very busy. Nothing too much trouble. Some nice ales too. Going back on the 30th for my birthday 🎂!

Called in on the off chance around 2.30 and had a good early tea / late lunch. Food very tasty. Service was fabulous.

We found a gem in this lovely, cosy traditional pub with delicious fresh food and welcoming, friendly people. Our two Cavalier King Charles puppies were made welcome and fussed over and they totally relaxed there which meant we could too. You won't be disappointed by this pub. We ate there 4 times during our week away. The roast dinners are the best we've had, Sea Bream is delicious as is the venison and lasagne. Treacle tart and sticky toffee pudding to finish are a treat and melt in the mouth delicious. Hubby enjoyed his beer and I enjoyed my house white wine and pinot grigio.

Delighted to find Bry and Kevin running this place. We had had it highly recommended but didn’t know until we got there that the reason for it being so very excellent is because the best landlady and chef are running it !! Wonderful meals, perfect service. All in all a stunning country pub with everything to rave about. Can’t wait to go back.

This pub is lovely, the food is brilliant but there was this table that had this woman who was very very loud and was rather embarrassing for all. Especially for me as I was sat on the same table. The waitress was brilliant and served everyone very promptly.

Had a lovely meal at this fabulous dining pub. Probably the best vege lasagne I’ve ever had. Chips were also another level. Staff were great. If we lived nearer would definitely be back frequently.

Excellent food combined with a relaxed atmosphere and great service

Overnighted at a caravan site (tourers) just up the road.. downhill ramble to village, felt like mount Everest on return 🤣 food very good,fair portions. Drink a tad expensive, but the times dictate the prices. All in all a very positive experience.

We chose to visit The Duke William on a recommendation and booked a table for two. We arrived a few minutes early and were shown to our table straight away. We placed our orders for food and drinks which were all served promptly and very efficiently. The food was served hot and ready to eat. The portions were of a decent size and we both found them very filling. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble. We will certainly be back for more visits and definitely recommend giving the place a visit wherever you are in the area. Many thanks to Yaz and the rest of the staff for providing such a lovely friendly welcome.

Set in a small village food excellent a little ££ food good and hot

We had Fish and chips, the fish was bland and the batter was soggy and the fat chips seemed warned up ,and no one asked if we was happy with are meal, so we will not be returning.

Lovely local pub feel with an excellent menu. Some great guest ales as well! The staff are lovely and friendly. We had a family meal and found the food amazing! Thoroughly recommend if your looking for a good meal in a great atmosphere.

Just had the best Sunday Lunch experience since I can’t remember when, at the Duke William. The food was beautifully presented and obviously of top class quality. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Ok the prices are little on the high side, but in the past we have paid far more and been extremely disappointed...but not so here, and as an added plus, all this is only 10 minutes from our house!

Lovely setting, very friendly & helpful staff. Food is really nicely cooked. Very quaint village pub. More attuned to dining nowadays. (Also has a good outdoor seating area). We had 1x Scallops(@ £13.50) , Roast Sunday Lunch ( 2 beef & 2 lamb @ £17.50) & 4 X dessert varied @ £6.95 Reasonably priced. But good food. (Nice roast potatoes). Parking on the front or in the small carpark to the right & rear of the pub. Very happy friendly staff.. well organised. Recommended.

It’s still my favourite local pub/foody place! Every time we come , great food, great service, great venue! Highly recommend

Meal was really lovely, very well prepared and tasted beautiful. But, its not very big and they double book the tables so you only get an hour and a half or 2 hours to eat. They were getting very busy and by the time we had eaten our mains and asked for the dessert menu, we had half an hour left on our table so we didn't bother. Very nice staff though, bery polite and friendly.

First time visiting and it was a great experience. Staff were very friendly and looked after us thoughout the meal. Food was brilliant and neither my wife or myself could fault anything we had. We'll be visiting again thats for sure.

Exceptional food!! Really well priced, above average for pub food but the quality is out of this world and well worth it. The service was impeccable with really chatty and friendly staff. Portion sizes were large with no detriment to the quality of food! Brilliant!

I was taken by a friend. We had a wonderful lunch, the room was pleasant with plenty of room round the tables and the staff were very polite and helpful.

Bette than ever! Back again as promised and not disappointed, the lovely landlady even recognised us from last time. As before really welcoming and warm service & absolutely delicious food. Had the dog in tow this time, extremely dog friendly staff as well! As I said last time, this is how you run a country pub, well worth a day out.

What a little gem. The very pretty and traditional pub is situated in the centre of the lovely countryside village of Askham. Called in at lunchtime and was warmly welcomed by the landlady. The menu is very good,offering everything from sandwiches and burgers to starters and main meals. The days special, steak and mushroom pie was delicious,well cooked, presented and at a reasonable price. The pub is spotlessly clean with a nice outdoor seating area. Will definitely return.

Love, love, love this place! Can't rate it highly enough. Food is incredible, great live music on a Friday night at the moment and generally just a lovely place with lovely people.

Lovely village pub friendly staff and one of the best steak & ale pies I've ever had and I've had some. Sticky toffee pudding to die for its so nice knowing food is freshly made by a proper chief would definitely recommend.
