We should have read the reviews!! £6.20 for a poor pint, sold elsewhere for considerably less, so please don't blame the notion of being a Free House who by definition can buy and sell different beers! We didn't spot a price list displayed upstairs so were aghast at four pints of Green King IPA at a fraction off £25. Not only should we have read the reviews but also asked more when locals in conversation earlier in the day raised their eyebrows when we said where we were going that evening.......want to be exploited.....pop in for a beer.

Not sure if price of beer has skyrocketed but £6.20 for one pints a rip off to be honest don’t think I will be going back in a hurry

What a gem of a cafe. We went here when the Summerseat Garden Centre Cafe’s service was appalling so we left. The staff at the Drop Off Cafe were extremely efficient, friendly and go out of their way to ensure your visit is first glass. I had avocado/poached egg sourdough toast and my friend had tomato soup that was delicious. I would highly recommend a visit as I’ve always had fantastic service

Had a lovely lunch at the Drop Off Cafe this Easter bank holiday weekend. A warm welcome by friendly and attentive staff in this delightfully interesting, quirky and welcoming venue. My homemade tomato soup was delicious as I wanted a light lunch, the chicken dishes the rest of my family had looked very appetising and reported extremely tasty.

The place is quirky, the food is delicious! I would highly recommend the salt and pepper chips! They are the best chips I have ever had! The service is only slower when the cafe is really busy which is perfectly understandable. The place is also dog friendly and the 2 collies belonging to the owners are just beyond adorable! I love love their innovative ideas, movie screenings, merchandise. Keep up the great work!

We have always had good things to say about the Drop Off, but I got a bit fed up of trying to work out when it was open. Anyway, decided to give it another chance and thought we were safe when they posted on Facebook on a Wednesday that they were open until 9pm. We went about 5pm and the staff were sitting outside. One of them said they were closed. It’s interesting because I’ve since told two local people we were going to go and both have then said “It’s never open so I don’t bother any more.” Such a wasted opportunity. In these times, people give businesses very few chances. It seems they posted on Facebook thinking it was Thursday. They need to do better if they want support.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience here today. With two children we were waiting over 1 hour for food. Breakfast quality was very poor. Very greasy and the breakfast charge of £11 is a joke to say what you get! (South Manchester prices). I’m not one to leave bad reviews but this place needs to address its service situation fast or unfortunately risk having to close with people going elsewhere. I hope they can pull the situation round. Take this as constructive criticism and look at your weaknesses. Good luck in the future.

Went for lunch and it was a bit good and not quite so good. Firstly the good - the salt and pepper chips are amazing. The staff are very pleasant and helpful though the service can be a bit slow. The tandoori chicken naan wasn't quite so great. Whilst thighs tend to be tastier the skin was quite fatty and it wasn't massive on flavour, and my wife only had 2 pieces of chicken. At £10.50 I thought it was a bit overpriced - £9 would have been fairer but I can understand in the current climate. My daughter loved her falafel naan however and said it was very tasty. Overall about 7.5 out of 10. Worth a visit for the chips and the pleasant staff if nothing else.

We visited the Drop Off over the Bank Holiday weekend and ended up astounded at the treatment we received from the Manager/Owner.We called for a drink, a coffee for my wife and a Tea for me, we both drink the same thing in every café we visit, I don't tolerate dairy well so I ordered a coffee and a "Black Tea with no milk and some extra hot water please !" the owner who took the order asked where we was sat and I said outside and he asked my name so the staff can call my name to give us our order, after a few minutes our drinks arrived by a young lad, my wife's coffee was as expected but I had been brought a small bottle of milk and no hot water, so I went inside and pleasantly asked the lad for some hot water, the owner asked me if it was to drink or for the tea ? So I replied it's for the tea, I ordered it off you a few minutes ago, his reply was a shock he said "you didn't order it from me" so I said that I had, and I also asked for no milk and I had a bottle outside that I don't want, he gave no reply to this and gave me a withering look and walked off into the preparation area, I could not believe his unprofessional attitude and rudeness. I went back outside and drank my black tea and my wife drank her coffee, both drinks were fine. I was still annoyed at our treatment so as we got up to leave the milk was stood on the table so I took it inside and gave it to the owner and said, this is the milk that I said I didn't want !His reaction was over the top to say the least, he gave me another look, walked away without a word into the preparation area and started counting very loudly 1-2-3-4-5 he was counting up to TEN to calm himself down !I walked out and was deeply shocked by his attitude, I can honestly say he's the rudest man I have ever met !

After several great experiences, we booked to come on Mother's Day with my family. The food was so poor and not in line with what they usually serve. Most of us had the roast beef and if only we took a photo! - Frozen Yorkshire pudding, gravy was a beef stock cube in water (no flour as thickener and tasted of nothing - literally coloured water), beef seemed like a frozen roll of beef. But the owner assured us that the baby boils and carrots were fresh! For £15 for a main and dessert, I would expect all to be fresh, not just 2 out of 3 vegetables! In addition, my 2 year olds food was a larger portion than what we received. When we complained (in a polite manner, I even explained that we come often and usually love the food), the owner walked off for around 20 minutes. This was after he agreed profusely with me when I said that we would get better in the Toby Carvery and for half the price. When he finally returned, he said there was nothing he could do, did not apologise and was incredibly defensive. When I disagreed and said there is plenty he could do (even an apology and a coffee with the dessert to apologise would have sufficed) he scrunched up the bill in a confrontational manner and said to my brother 'have a nice trip back to Yorkshire' in a patronising manner in a way to say 'don't come back'. As locals, we were disappointed that we weren't respected as regular customers, especially having come on Mother's Day. We had to leave and get a packet of crisps at a nearby bar because the food was so unsubstantial!! This is the first negative review I have ever written on TripAdvisor and as people who support our local businesses, we would only write a review like this if we were incredibly disappointed. Unfortunately, the owner was so incredibly unprofessional and needs to learn to take criticism! How he could justify £15 for that food is beyond me! - Especially when he agreed that the Toby Carvery is much better (and for a fraction of the price!)

Been here a few times over the years and it's a lovely cosy eating establishment, food today was good but a little let down by service from the staff, they were friendly enough but nearly 10 mins after been taken to our table not one person asked us if wanting drinks ,it's basic customer service . We had to ask for them to come over and once served with food not once came over and asked if everything ok. 4 staff chatting away with each other. Just needs tinkering with the staff that's all. Also don't like the idea they put a service charge on your bill without asking you ,not many customers will see this on the bill, it's quite sneaky to be honest.

The pub seemed alright, bit dirty but it’s old I guess. The Ale selection is terrible and seemed over priced. They do serve some food, Pizzas’s mostly, but the fact that it’s cooked outside in a dirty trailer really puts me off them, plus, where is the good hygiene rating???? - Would not recommend!
