Quick stop off for a ride around Hertfordshire. 3 of us, all agreed our snacks were delicious and service was exemplary. Couldn't fault a thing, the perfect stop off for us

Delicious large ham and cheese toastie. Heaps of ham and cheese. Quick friendly service. Polished off with a yummy blackcurrant tart. Warmed up with a frothy hot chocolate. This was a terrific find off the beaten track. Hit the spot for a late lunch.

Went here with my toddler for a coffee and a babyccino ! Fantastic service. Greeted with a smile and super polite staff... Nice indoor sitting area but we opted for outside.. Some cyclists on the table next to us had some breakie which looked fantastic and will be returning as a family to try it out .

Unfortunately the service was lacking and items lacking good quality contradicting the high price point. My poor parents had to watch us eat and then received their egg and beans on toast order an hour after ordering. My dad commented, 'Finally after 55 mins wait' to which the lady snapped 'well we had to accommodate your order change'. We were completely shocked by the attitude as were other guests, my dad had asked them only 10 minutes earlier, if they hadn't started if they could make sure the eggs were poached not fried. This was after 40 minutes of waiting when he went to check up on the order and they hadn't even started! Won't be returning again due to this which is a shame as the toasties we had were delicious

There were 6 of us altogether. We ordered our drinks and food one after another. Our drinks arrived around 15 minutes later. 4 of us had our food after 25 minutes. The other two whom had ordered something very simple as egg on toast waited for 1 hour! When asked where the food was around 40 minutes later they said its on its way.. When it arrived an hour later, the lady who is the owner was extremely rude. Apparently it was our fault because when asking where the food was, we asked for it to be poached egg. So her response was "well we had to wait for the water to boil" and walked out of the dining room. How long does it take to boil an egg? It seems the staff need to have a refresher course on customer service skills and how to cook basic food and on time. I would avoid. There are lots of nice of cafés in Hitchin only 8 minutes drive away and quicker service too.

We use it on cycling trips, so do lots of others. It's also used by general visitors and walkers. Great food, everything you would expect in a nice cafe. Friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Outside seating and inside seating area. Definitely worth a visit.

I came here on my birthday weekend and was looking forward to some nice cake. The seating area in a separate cabin was absolutely freezing with lukewarm electric heaters. The service was really poor. When the drinks arrived the young lad just plonked my partner’s tea in front of me when he said it was his. Never moved it. My partner ordered a sausage nap which came out first. My cake and my dad’s didn’t come up for another 15 minutes (how difficult is it to cut a slice of cake). My dad reminded the young lad serving and he said ‘it coming’ abruptly. No sorry. I was appalled when the cake came out. A sliver the thickness of a slice of bread. Very poor value when the cake was a standard price. The icing was melted, so clearly had been sat on the side forgotten about. The only taste was in the icing. This place really needs to up its game to keep people coming back.

What a gem - Staff wonderfully friendly and helpful. Food absolutely delicious and the best coffee. They have the most relaxing home from home lounge to relax and enjoy your food or drink in too if you do not want a takeaway. Well worth a visit, will definitely be returning

Great little cafe, used both mornings of our stay at pub along road. We all had different types of baps ( bacon, sausage, egg) along with a selection of teas. All cooked fresh, nice and hot. Sat in their very pleasant clean sitting room area across from cafe. Did get quite busy while there so very obviously highly rated by locals! Very friendly staff, one showing us where we could park for better wheelchair access. Highly recommended if in area.

Everything was perfect. We came across this place by accident as we were at a wedding at Offley Place, but staying at the Red Lion. They advertised breakfast, but a cereal box in the room didn't quite cut it, so we went here instead. This place couldn't have been better. Excellent breakfast baps and amazing coffee. The owners/staff were lovely and very attentive. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

Called in on a bike ride for a lunch stop. There’s a pretty decent menu, we opted for hot drinks and sausage in a bun - really very good - and I will make a point of planning rides to stop there again . Great local cafe stop

Groundwork’s Breakfast option and it’s 1 slice of toast, 1 egg, 1 tomato, measly rashes of bacon, 1 mushroom and 1 sausage is £14 😂. Costs about £1.40 to make and they’re have the absolute cheek to charge £14. Honestly the place is an absolute rip off. Staff are rude and openly talk about you in front of your face. So many other decent eatery’s in Hitchin. Go there!

I visited this bar with friends last night, and it was fantastic! The food was exceptional, especially the Moving Mountain burger – the best vegetarian burger I’ve ever had. The staff were attentive and made sure we were well looked after. The drinks were great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I’ll definitely be returning!

Despite booking up weeks in advance the manager decided to give our table away to his mates claiming he didn't know we would turn up! Won't step foot in here again until he's gone.
