The Drawing Room in South Lanarkshire

Delightful place for lunch with a really relaxed comfortable vibe. With a free car park next door transport here was easy. I had one of the specials a fish finger sandwich like no other where the picked cucumber deserves a separate mention. My friend does not eat meat and enjoyed the quiche, both meals were well presented with salad and coleslaw. I hope the locals support this little gem of a place and if I lived closer I would be in every week. The cakes looked superb but I was full however my friend enjoyed the one boxed to take home.

We have been visiting the Drawing Room now for the past 6 months, on average of at least 2 times a week. The food is first class, tasty and well presented. The staff are amongst the best that we have encountered, and we have travelled across most of Europe, never achieving the service and very warm welcome that we receive every time that we walk through the door. It is a joy to visit, and the staff and owners always make us feel special.

This place just has a great vibe. With varied seating types and a relaxed environment I love coming here with family or friends. All food is cooked fresh to order - it's def worth the wee wait. The cakes are all made on-site by the fabulous Yvette. In the evening you can come for drinks certain nights of the week and there are always events running too throughout the month. TDR is a much needed hospitality venue in Strathaven with a friendly atmosphere and staff as well as fab food.

I'd have never went here as it was previously ....however the new style, management takeover and presence online had me intrigued. I was not disappointed from start to finish we had the best experience. Beautiful decor nice ambience and excellent wine selection Charcuterie was so tasty every element had a different taste explosion!! Would highly recommend What an awesome team and welcoming place so much so I'm booked to go back again!!

What a beautiful place from the minute you walk in you are greeted with a very warm welcome from the staff. We were in for lunch and some wine. The owner had a great knowledge of the wine list and asked what my usual go to is … that was a lovely touch .. ordered the Mac n cheese with black pudding and beef chilli nachos to share - delicious and my partner is quite the fuss pot when it comes to Mac n cheese!! The place was very busy and yet at every moment you needed a drink the staff were on it - this is important to us - we hate sitting with empty glasses .. so well done to everyone at the drawing room for such a lovely experience. Will definitely make you a favourite ❤️

Unfortunately this lovely coffee shop changed hands and has been taken over by the owners of a local public house. This means that the interior is slowly morphing into a pub with more emphasis on loud music, alcohol and an atmosphere not conducive to relaxing. Fortunately, Yvette is still holding the kitchen together with delicious, beautifully cooked food. Come on boys, running a cafe/restaurant is not the same as running a pub but there’s still time to learn so it’s up to you. Appearance of staff is also important - the ladies all look very smart but the men wear all black, with T-shirts looking quite scruffy. But the drawing room can still be what it once was. ( It’s also important to listen to how your clients like their coffee or tea.) I hope that standards will improve and it’s only teething problems

A visit to The Parlour with friends this evening and we could not have been made more welcome. What a beautiful atmosphere and lovely attentive staff. Tonight was their tapas menu and even though we hadn't booked we were welcomed in and rather than wait for service to begin we were offered the choice of their sharing charcuterie platter ... OMG it was amazing and well worth the money. This is the place to be for a chilled out classy evening with friends or a loved one ... the boys have certainly put the haven in the name of our little town. Can't wait to visit again.

New owners new rules, all change inside and do not dare to question the owners decision to change things. Permission needed before posting any negative comment. The thought police are controlling the public forums. Used to be a 5* review such a lovely manager, friendly and appreciated his customers. Food remains excellent under Yvette's culinary skills.

First visit to The Drawing Room today and I was not disappointed. Beautiful surroundings and cosy on a cold day. The staff were all lovely and friendly. Had soup and a toastie which was both lovely and you can taste the fresh ingredients. My sister had a scone, and she said it’s the best she has tasted and trust me she has had a few. Would highly recommend

Best toasties in the west coast of Scotland. Well worth a visit. Cakes are to die for. The service is amazing! Definitely drop in!

A great cafe/restaurant with a super lunch menu, fantastic home baking and tremendous coffee.a terrific atmosphere supported by the excellent and friendly staff team. Certainly worth a visit and some super art works for sale.

Will definitely be back! My brother and I popped in for brunch. It was our first visit to The Drawing room. We were greeted by friendly staff and although it was really busy, we managed to get a table for two. We ordered 2 cappuccinos which arrived quickly, great coffee 😋 I ordered the French toast with bacon and maple syrup. It arrived nice and hot, well presented and extremely tasty. Menu advised the meat was all from local butchers, the bacon was of high quality. My brother had a cheese and chilli jam toastie that came with an impressive salad and coleslaw. We had raspberry/strawberry meringue cakes too. Wow! They were divine! Very impressed and delighted with our food, the setting abd the service.

Fabulous food freshly cooked from a varied menu. Friendly and attentive staff. Spotlessly clean and always jumping with customers of all ages. A lovely place to relax and meet friends.

The Drawing room is something different. A superb menu with many specials every day. Great for Breakfast or for your brunch, lunch or early dinner. Staff are so helpful and can't do enough for you, personal service and attention. Yvette is a wonderful chef and her patisserie collection is to die for. Enjoy a glass of wine with you food or barista coffees. Can be buy you might want to book. Well work a visit.

I visited the Drawing Room with my wife yesterday just before noon, and it was already busy. Once we had tried the food we knew why. I had a jumbo sausage roll with salad (a Sunday special), and it was one of the most incredible meals I have ever had. The pastry was soft and cooked just right, and the meat was similarly just the right texture and full of flavour. The house Pinot Grigio was nicely chilled and tasted great. We were served quickly, and staff were friendly and attentive.

I wasn't sure what to expect but OMG! The food was absolutely amazing. The place itself was deceiving. Looks smaller from the outside but a lot more spacious inside and the atmosphere and decor was fab. Fabulous staff who all work very hard to keep the customers happy. If you haven't been then well worth a visit. I'll definitely be back to sample more food from the menu. A picture of a 'few' of the cakes we also got on our visit. 😋

Lovely atmosphere tasty lunch very friendly service. We will definitely be back. We had toasties, cakes, coffee hot chocolate everything was excellent.

If my daughter and I feel like a really good cup of coffee when we get together in Strathaven, this is my favourite. I know people think it's daft, but if you're a serious coffee fan, then the quality and the way it's delivered do make a difference, and at The Drawing Room they've got it absolutely right. The menu is neat but well done, all the things I would want for breakfast, brunch or lunch.....they do a special fish treat on Friday evenings, but haven't tried it yet. Pulling it all together are the staff. Kind, welcoming, they even have a talk and a laugh with customers, and unless you want to be embarrassed by the surprise appearance of a birthday cake and chorus, keep quiet about your big day 😂😂😂🎂 It's popular with people locally and I hope it goes from strength to strength, well worth a visit.

Visited tonight for the ‘six after six’ menu. It was absolutely outstanding. Excellent service, fab environment and meal was one of the best I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend this. Loved it.
