Terrible service. Landlady can’t cope. Taking a drink That she had served my friend with cause she said she had enough,and another friend took it off the landlady telling her it had been paid for and the land lady took a pic of my Mate lol.

Absolutely amazing service, owner seemed lovely as did the staff. Served quickly and overall a great atmosphere.

Sat outside having a drink, not the best pub ever but the drinks are always OK and reasonably priced. A customer from inside came out to have a cigarette and decided to "empty the contents" of his nose/throat and mouth with full sound effects not too far from where we were sitting. Absolutely disgusting and repulsive, not to mention unhygienic. We were so repulsed we could not finish our drinks. No wonder this pub is always empty.

Called in during lockdown. Table serviceonly very promt niice and polite we wlll call in again. We sat outside

I have been here on three previous occasions with family, I was so impressed with the quality and quantity of food I booked a table for 12... the service was a bit slow due to the amount of food ordered, but the wait was worth it... excellent high quality food, good menu choices at very reasonable prices... this place is just a local normal pub with great atmosphere and friendly staff.. well worth a visit.. I shall definitely be going again. Trust me you will not be disappointed..

My dad was on a walk past the Drakes Drum and spoke to a man who was sorting through the advertising boards. The man was really friendly and said to dad about having lunch. Dad never goes on a pub but felt so welcome he went on on his way home and had a roast lunch. Said it was very quiet and not many people but staff kept asking if he and the meal was ok and he felt welcome and relaxed. Total shock to family that he went in a pub but so grateful to the staff for taking time to speak to him. He’s saying he will go again.

Right after having a lovely afternoon walk around Radford park on my way back home thought let's have a pint and a snack went in dear lord !!! I'm 35 and have and still do work in the pub trade but never have I been treated with such awful customer service I've grown up in Plymstock since 1991 and also worked at the pub years ago that aside after having a lush walk around Radford park went in for a pint to check the place out after not being in the pub for years I WILL NEVER RETURN not only was the bar man utterly rude on paying for my drink I handed over my card he went around the corner of the bar NEVER gave me and option of using contactless gave me back my card so went outside to have my pint the thought that payment was not ONLY not done in front of me or given a recipe but then when going back 4mins later not only was he too busy to speak to me talking football results to another customer after waiting at the bar for a few minutes to get his attention then said to me after I ask for a recipe I was lucky as there had been no other transactions since mine so I c I ukd get a receipt bearing in mind it was all done on the other side of the bar contactless with out my permission I left feeling so angry and annoyed the PURE LACK of customer service I will never ever go back there and just to say again I've worked in the pub trade for years I was not even busy also I'm one of these kinda people that just if I have bad service I won't go back but this this !!! Got me so mad I have more important things to do with my life than right crapy reports on service but this time well done your the first never EVER go there service and atmosphere is crap was of time and a waste of hard earned money spent avoid avoid AVOID

Avoid at all costs ! Not a nice place , not at all friendly. You can ,and we did . Place was virtually empty , with some unsavoury characters out side on benches . I only wish we had driven right past .

On our way back from a great curry at the excellent balti place in Hooe we thought we might drop in at the DD for a pint or two, having noticed the lights on and spotted the latest ‘New Management’ signs outside the pub. We shouldn’t have bothered. The two very big rooms were both soullessly empty except for three or four twenty something makes leaning against the windowsill in the room with the pool tables. Truthfully we bottled it without trying to get served, not keen to kill off what had so far been a jolly evening by standing around in a cavernous dour space.
