Costa Coffee in Plymouth

To bloody expensive when a cup of coffee at home costs 10p

Sat out side as was a few already sat inside service was great, hot chocolate was lovely, the only thing that let it down was the state of the outside bin was over flowing and rubbish all over the floor

Went in for coffee. As there was a major accident up the road and everything was gridlocked. Luckily we were parked in the carpark. Eventually left some 3 hrs later and several coffees

Excellent value as I used my vodaphone voucher here for a free coffee.

Rude service by a team that think it's funny. Little comments and laughing to each. Maybe some customer service training needed.

This costa has improved in all aspects cleaner friendlier food arrived quicker. Well done.

Nice place to have a skinny latte on a cold Saturday morning having a catch up with friends.

Popped in for a Christmas black forest hot chocolate it was nice. Busy little place has a lot of seating inside and out. With a drive through service. Staff were busy but ok. Tables were reasonably clean. Ideal if you want a drink or light bite.

Lovely place to start the day ahead of work activities (not been to Next one!). Staff are very welcoming and super nice 'Ronnie'..cant speak highly enough...no disturbance just leave you in peace! Hope you all get a decent Xmas break...Phil

Get in line and get yr cake and order yr drink of choice cause its going to be a lip smacking visit with yr tongue tangled in an indulgent choco orange centred cup cake with a mega size twin handled bucket of a cup(large to other beings)of yr favourite fill..sit back and aaahhhhhhhhh.

Good for a coffee break between the shopping.

Got there for a frappe / the drive in was closed so had to go into store/ the American member of staff js so patronising - the frappe ice got stuck in my straw as wasn’t ground down properly / they’re always so busy and it seems customer service goes out the window :(

A very compact coffee shop within a larger retail store. Tables were small & close together. It felt cramped & somewhat uncomfortable. It was very busy & we had to wait for a table. The coffee was fine as usual.

This use to be a lovely shop but lately the staff have been so rude I’ve stopped coming. The American guy and his friend with glasses are so rude and shouldn’t be allowed to work with members of the public. Drive thru is hardly ever open and it’s now a very poor experience despite charging top dollar for there food & drink

Dropped in for coffee at this store, Inside Next. Long queue as usual, one table free. 10 minutes until I got my coffee. One staff member making coffee, going as fast as she could.

Absolute Whopper of a staff member behind the counter today! Ginger Canadian fella who needs an attitude check… you work in Costa love, wind the neck in. The way you talk to customers and other staff members is appalling.

Disgusting service from the staff, so damn rude. There was one guy in particular, just honestly vile attitude definitely shouldn’t be working with customers, literally don’t want to come back because don’t want to be made feel like that again. I was just stood there and he was just rude to every single person that walked in, really is letting the place down. I don’t actually think I’ll be ever returning after that. I’m not sure of his name but eww disgusting attitude actually makes me annoyed that they can treat people so disrespectfully

Always a good experience at Costa in Next. Best of both worlds, you can look around the store and have a coffee or something to eat. Since M&S food has been introduced, it is better. Service is always with a smile

Very bad experience, poor staff . I ordered coffee espresso and I get mood water . The staff member made 2 coffees and on the end she put glass to make me espresso which is no extract from the coffee is just a mood water . I tasted and I complain and ask for proper espresso. They refuse to remake my coffee and I just walk away . This is ridiculous, paid 2,20£ for coffee and you get mood water . Train your staff properly . Disgusting!

Costa is not my favourite. Sat in Marshmills Retail Park....yawn yawn....Overpriced and the coffee...latte in this instance, is just soooo milky and not well made. Service was fine. Staff friendly. It's just the end product. Just looks like beige milk ....

The staff seem to be struggling with a hopeless preparation area, with the person prepping our iced drinks having to go back and forth numerous times. They also, inexplicably, don't operate an order number system which means one is never sure if it's your order or someone else's arriving.

Costa do a wide range of drinks and snacks and they often add seasonal flavours. We think they are a bit expensive but they are good quality and taste .. and portion sizes are usually quite generous.

I was working in Devon and dropped in for a coffee and cake. The queue was horrendous and it is understaffed. The selection of food was very limited and my table was a bit unclean. I have been in better of this chain and think it needs a manager revamp.

Overpriced and there's no gluten free food.

Always nice to earn free coffees. This Costa has lovely , helpful staff. It was really clean when I went and my salted caramel frappe was delicious. They helped me choose a drink as they didn’t have ingredients for the one I wanted.

Costa 'Baristas' Make sure you boil the milk first because I love that sour bitter taste! YUK

My best place of all to get 'me' time. People watching and enjoying my time. Highly recommend mango frappe.....delicious

There’s one server who’s great at his job, service is poor from most though.

Went to the one in NEXT shop. Very busy & not much room, so very squished in. Staff not very friendly, not much communication. In saying that the coffee was nice & the food was lovely, even if it is expensive for what you get.

Food and drinks and service was good which I expect from Costa However, lately this place which is situated in a large carpatk is plagued by boy racers and their pimped up cars doing wheels pins, doughnuts and revving their engines. So an attempt to relax outside with friends for a quiet drink was ruined. Staff did try and speak with the groups but this had little effect. Not Costas fault but it's certainly impacting on the usually busy cafe.

This store is located in the NEXT outlet at marsh mills. Lovely little store often get full But a great place to meet up and have a chat

Got short changed give me a small drink what I asked for BUT is was ONLY a table spoon in it what a joke Costa head office needs to come and see this and see what goes on here !!! More bad reviews more business they are going to lose !! Won't be coming back here now until it's sorted 😡

Brie and bacon roll was delish! Coffee was a little meh.

Frappe was the worst we have ever had. It wasn't like a Frappe at all it was more like a warm, runny milkshake. Served in a take away coffee carton. Will not use this Costa again.

We do like going to this Costa….but it’s very hit or miss as to how clean it is! More often than not there is food on the floor, tables not cleared and the seats are food encrusted! Unfortunately today was no exception so we left and had coffee elsewhere!

Really misleading breakfast offer, upgrade to a medium with not much of a deal as it turns out.

The seating areas has not improved. I was queuing for food waiting for a seat and the member of staff who was dealing with seats was going to give a table to someone who walked in. I spoke up but the member of staff was quite abrupt with me

Not the best Costa I have been in recently.

We were shortly leaving Plymouth for home and met the Wife’s Parents for an early morning Coffee. The Costa Coffee located within the Next Store is one of the best - in my humble opinion - in the City and ideal for our catch up. Friendly efficient Baristas and delicious smooth tasting Coffees. We sat to enjoy an Americano, Latte, Flat White and Cappucino. All freshly prepared and a great way to end our visit.

Tables not cleared quick enough by staff. Saw several customers clearing the tables prior to sitting down. The tables were not cleaned after customers finished. Didn't see any members of staff cleaning tables during my stay.

Please can the staff learn to make a good cappuccino. A flat white with half a centimetre of froth on the top of it is not a cappuccino. I don't feel brave enough to complain. 🙁

Have visited this cafe on several occasions, usually around midday, and have always been a little concerned about the generally grubby state of the place. On a recent visit we were there as soon as the cafe opened so you would expect it to be spotless. If only....... The table had food encrusted on it, the seats were absolutely filthy with food remnants and crumbs everywhere and the floor didn't look like it had been swept or cleaned for a week. This is such a shame because the elevated position of the cafe gives it a nice outlook but as cleanliness is apparently at the bottom of the the list of priorities we certainly won't be attending again. Costa - you really need to sort this place out.

It's a Costa. If you've ever been to one before you know what you're going to get. The food, as per all Costa's is overpriced and bland but better than most. The staff are great, very friendly and they make a great coffee. The location itself is clean and reasonably well maintained. I visit multiple times per year

Costa Coffee within the Next Store at Marsh Mills is a lovely venue to meet friends or family. Good staff under a lot of pressure help make the experience good and a decent full menu of Drinks and food are available. We met Family and sat to enjoy Freshly made Latte’s, a Flat White and a Cappucino which were the usual super smooth Coffee taste.

Quick and friendly service, nice hot coffee (might sound ridiculous as it's a coffee place) but alot of Costas the coffee is luke warm. Plenty of spaces to sit too. Toilets could do with cleaning and freshening up every now and again.

Very dirty, needs a good deep clean. Tables and floors with food left everywhere and seating with food and crumbs. Not an inviting look. 🙈 Costa shops seem to be like it everywhere, traveled from Plymouth to Inverness, not one clean Costa. 🤔

Had a delivery today the order was incorrect and took a age to arrive.

Toast is just awful - the machine doesn’t toast it - just dries it out as if it’s stale and the butters so hard it just rips the bread !! I didn’t eat it 😒

Great place for a coffee and snack. Used to have wifi but not been available for months...staff say its waiting to be fixed but that excuse is wearing a bit thin.
