Ordering a takeaway with my kids, you have nowhere to wait, then you get pushed out of the way by other customers, then when your order is ready, you can't get it. Because of the customers. And students 🤦🏻‍♂️ staff are awesome, super friendly.

Infested with rats. Bar staff under serving customers. Bar staff named Ben, serving up under sized glasses as pints. Then categorically gaslighting you when you point out what he's holding is objectively not a pint. Then getting condescending rude and refusing to apologise when its shown that he is in fact wrong. Manager instantly confirmed he was wrong. Disgruntled back staff coming out to gaslight the situation. Doorman taking an interest. All of this if you try to buy a pint without being illegally under served. Its basic basic training to know what a pint glass is. It's also Illegal to be serving food when infested with rats. Yet upstairs has rats 2 of the last 3 times Ive been there. Reece the manager explained it is being dealt with. Reece the manager, was polite and professional. Doorman wasn't too bad. It's a customer service issue bud, not a security matter. Bottomline though is the bar staff shouldnt be under serving customersand food places shouldnt be infested with rats. Easy to be polite and important to know what a pint is if you work in a bar. 1/5

Popped in for an ecvening meal with my daughter and son - Enjoyed the food and drinks. Service was a little slow but the place was busy so no real issue there. Really liked the decor and relaxed atmosphere - will visit again!

One of the worst burger i've ever eaten. Much worse that McDonald's or kfc

Been several times and normally good in all aspects. However, visit today was really disappointing. Took 45 minutes to get food when the place only had 3 tables filled (including ours) at the point of placing the order. Others who came in after were served their food before. Food quality is good, but it seems the kitchen is understaffed.

Mojitos came , no ice no lime no mint tasted like soda water and rum . Plucked up courage to take them back to be told that is a mijito. I asked for at least some extra lime and mint. Guy started to remake it (puts rum and ice and mint and lime in a shaker ) when I saw thay I apologised and just asked him to pour me a pint (so basically paid 8.50 for pint). Gave me so much attitude the whole time . I wasn't expecting fanciest thing for the price but that was an abomination:/

Just had a milkshake called "death by chocolate" 10 minutes ago and it was the worst thing I've ever tasted. It was literally a 2 pint cup of milk with some 50p Asda looking chocolate buttons on top. I'm very sure that the drink was just made wrong as it was literally a jug of milk and I only took the jug cause I can reuse it. I was originally planning to also get the cookie dough pizza to share with my gf however I chose not to because I didn't wanna risk wasting money and we just went back home and ordered kaspas instead. The customer service was non existent and the only staff member that was present was stuffing her face with a burger and chips. In conclusion don't go here. if you want caffeine go Starbucks and if you want something sweet go kaspas

Missing items even after asking 4 separate staff members to sort. Ended up requesting refunds for what never arrived. Staff members had no clue what they were bringing to the table. Drinks took longer than the food to arrive. No a care in the world. Wasn't even half full. Gone very downhill

First off we had to wait 25 minutes for 4 milkshakes and an extra 5 for the latte. And when the latte came we ordered the love latte which should have pink cream and pink milk and a cherry on top.as it came out he gave us a normal latte with no pink milk and normal cream which he put no effort into because he forgot the cherry.We sent it back and he put 2 strawberries without the tops cut off. He then came back and said that he can remake it with pink cream and milk after saying they had none left.They were extremely short staffed I only saw 3.different staff members.They gave us a normal latte for the price of the love one.We don’t bother sending it back because we had plans which were already being pushed for time after the wait. The atmosphere, In the eating area we had a speaker near our seat which was broken and kept stopping that was very irritating. Other than that the milkshakes where delicious other than the wait. We hope if we return soon tgat we have much better service.. The pictures attached is how our latte was presented to us.

Complete waste of money and time. Couldn’t get the drink right - said they would sort it out and 15 mins later we were still waiting. We walked out. Save yourself some time and go to The Box across the road for a relaxed atmosphere and staff who actually know what they are doing.

Always come here to get my fav food (tater tots), ordered them for takeout today and got the tiniest portion, more than half of what we usually get. Fries are advertised as cheese sauce, came with mozzarella dumped to the side and melted. I’m really upset as this was my top and favourite place to come too. My partner said the service wasn’t the best this time, they had said infront of him they were missing items we had ordered, so I guess that’s why we have tiny portions.

Came across this place thinking "hey! They love coffee and they are all about good coffee!" I walked in with my partner and looked at the menu. Oh, it's just shi**y lattes and american crap food. I ordered a peanut butter latte thinking it'll be a sweet treat. It came and what i got was an ashtray liquidised in a cheap mug. My a**hole tastes better than this coffee, or so I've been told. They offered to remake it and i never saw them again. So i left. What a dissapointment.

Ordered a love latte and it tasted more like a normal latte and as a student I was quite upset with that considering how much I paid so I went back and Steve remade it for me without any questions. This was very kind of Steve and I am very impressed by his service. I’m not sure who made the first latte, but when it was remade it was much better. Caffeine club is also a very beautiful and uniquely decorated place. I will definitely be coming back. Thanks again Steve!

There’s teenagers in there all the time playing music on a speaker and it’s very rude and off putting if you see them kick them out straight away and also they get olders to get them drink which mean they are underage drinking which don’t look good on you.

Cheap and cheerful, good place to hangout with mates. Similar prices to spoons but much prefer going here as they have their own music and friendlier atmosphere

Visited here while coming to see my daughter at uni. Wonderful décor, friendly staff and great food. We all enjoyed our meal (massive portions!) and the drinks were hard to pick due to there being so many (and interesting) choices! We did wait a little while for food but this is understandable with the amount of people there!

I recently dined at Caffeine Club and had an exceptional experience, largely thanks to Emma's outstanding customer service. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure our meal was perfect.

Place in general seems to need a serious clean. Service wasn’t great, though hard to tell as ordering through app, ( the app menu is also missing some items from the physical menu,) some simple cheesy chips took about half an hour. Table had no cutlery on, and none was brought out, had to go and fetch it ourselves. And the cutlery was dirty, and fluffy? The food: The cheesy chips were barely warm ( despite the bowl itself being scorching hot) the cheese was chewy and rubbery. The actual fries themselves were half decent, ignoring a couple of partially raw ones… Poor cross contamination: only ordered cheesy chips, being a vegetarian. As I got towards the end of my bowl. In the thick globs of rubbery cheese at the bottom of the bowl, were pieces of Bacon…. Luckily there is no allergy to meat/bacon, as this could have been a serious issue. Atmosphere: preferences are subjective, it wasn’t my kind of atmosphere, but that is neither here nor there. However the fact it didn’t seem very clean is definitely a damper on the atmosphere.

Came in on Tuesday for a few drinks with some of my work mates. Was served by a lovely person called Zig (Ziggy?). Lovely server. Consistently made the effort to get drinks to us as quickly as possible and we had a lovely little conversation about Plymouth. Would come again just to get the same service. The atmosphere is also fantastic. Felt very homely and cosy!

i often stop here after work for a drink, the atmosphere is just what i need. absolutely in love with the decor in this place, the music is immaculate, staff extremely friendly all around. nick or ziggy usually serve me and they’re both lovely. i’ve only had the food here a couple of times but each time it’s hit the spot. i’m sure i’ll be coming back here for a long while

The place has been going downhill for a while they are taking way too long for orders to be done they used to be fast they even cancle orders that'll be done over 2 hours without saying a word

Service non-existent. Order by barcode, delivery slow despite there being more staff than customers. Ciabatta so hard it was literally inedible.

Great meet up point for friends and family. Basic food but friendly staff.

I've been here on and off for like 3 years and it's gone downhill. All food is incredibly overpriced now for the low quality and long wait times. Was much better with the old owners. Can't see this place lasting much longer. Sundaes, for example, are about 7-9 pounds and for that you get a tiny glass of three scoops of cheap ice cream, Tesco sauce, and if you're lucky, half a chocolate bar. The hot dog is 10 pounds for a bun and a store bought dog, with cold fries. The only redeeming quality is the cheese sauce that you can get on some dishes. Portion sizes are alright very hit and miss depending on when you go in, smaller than ages ago. The staff are nice and friendly. Wonderful atmosphere too. Most people go for the vibe and drinks. It's basically a slightly fancy Jake's. I love this place, it's a shame to see it run poorly.

Used to be good under old owners, now it’s all overpriced and sparse. For what you get it is extortionate, Coca Cola is pricey, where do you see that? Great venue, however awfully run and myself and others can all say we preferred how it was at the start of the year.

I had a truly disappointing experience at the Caffeine Club recently. After a long day, I was really looking forward to enjoying some Cheesy chips with beans. Unfortunately, the order was incomplete – no beans – and the chips were barely edible. When I asked for the missing beans, they were badly presented and seemed to have been microwaved. The staff's attitude was poor, and the overall quality of the food was completely unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend the Caffeine Club for a meal.

*Original review below - amended review follows The menu used to be cheap and cheerful. Massive portions of bland food at student prices. Not any more. It's a great menu, still studenty in that its comfort food but it's all done really nice.*Amended below. The portions are still very generous. Yes you still get your 2 pint milkshakes and your tankard of tea. But there is more quality there now. The venue itself is really nice and cosy too. The seating is nice with big soft booth type tables for groups and there are even wood burners for heating which adds to the warm feel. The staff too always seem friendly and happy to help. They can be busy at times as it's just so popular. I have had a few things missing the few times I've been there recently but this has been sorted without much hassle. Picture below are some "pizza fries" cheesy chips with loads of toppings. Chicken strips and some sort of burger. It was my mate's burger and I didn't think to ask. A kinderella shake. Sooo good. * July 2024 I have dropped my score to a 3 star after coming here multiple times recently. I have had some shocking food. Whilst the atmosphere is still nice and cosy and the staff still seem friendly, the poor food quality means I will stop going. As an example, I ordered a burger one day and this came in a rock hard stale bun. So this was either frozen and then defrosted and they didn't notice or they noticed it was stale and thought toasting it would hide the staleness, which of course it did not. Another gripe is the menu and the fact the burger comes with chips but doesn't say and so I ordered some extra chips for another fiver or so. A small gripe perhaps but the menu has changed so that there are a bunch of options for chips such as the pizza fries or these saucy ones I ordered. This isn't too big of a deal other than it seems to be something people do often by mistake and the staff never seem to mention it to anyone ordering. - In there defence when I complained about the burger and said I wasn't eating it, I asked for a cup of tea and a desert instead, they obliged. That was just very lacklustre too. But they did try and you have to appreciate that. My main complaint here, would be the inconsistency. One mistake or missing thing wouldn't be an issue. But we have been here enough recently to realise even if you order the same thing two days in a row, you simply don't know what you'll get. Even if you are sat at the same table and order the same thing, it may come out looking different and your left wondering if you have got the right order. If they don't have stuff on , it may be left out or substituted. If its stale, you may be served it anyway. It is just not a great experience.

Would highly suggest USA double espresso shake and nachos

To get a beer you have to go to the coffee side and then make them walk around to the bar side, or ring a doorbell.

Really disappointed with the service and quality of milkshake that I ordered, especially compared to previous 2pints I have received, I think the presentation is poor, no kinder bueno pieces like previously. I think either the quality of the milkshake needs to improve and the cup it comes in or the price needs to be reevaluated.

Although the food was tasty, we ordered two bacon and egg baps, which took 30 minutes to be brought to us...minus the eggs! There was no apology or explanation for the delay.

American style diner not the best but not the worst

Cosy, friendly coffee shop and restaurant in the heart of Plymouth city centre, the food, coffee and milkshakes are the best in town with a wide selections. There are many parking spaces outside of it and Regent Street car park is very close as well. It is one of our favourite places to eat and drink in Plymouth, staff are always welcoming, friendly and keen to help, we will certainly be going there many more times!

DO NOT BUY FOOD. Been vomitting and struggled sleeping after eating a meal here. This could be due to all the sauces never being refridgerated, despite all the sauces clearly being marked with "refridgerate after opening". This could also be due to the menu being 4 pages, any competent owner would understand to not have an excessive food menu. Stay away from any food here, the drinks are alright tho.

Waited 25 minutes for our drinks despite it not being busy, the staff were rude and lacked basic customer services skills. The manager was even rude enough to be talking rudely about another customer!! They clearly spent all they money on the decor and couldn't afford to train their staff or invest in quality produce. What makes it worse is the coffee was cheap dark roast and taste like dirt! So disappointing!!!!

Great food and a wide selection of drinks

I have been to caffeine club a few times for hot drinks and milkshakes and every time I go and make the same order it comes out completely different so the staff have obviously not been trained the same. The last hot chocolate I got the staff mixed white hot chocolate powder and normal together for absolutely no reason and it tasted like gone off milk. When I complained they were really friendly and kind and happy to give me another one which was so much better. Overall, most times I have been, I have had no problems but last time did put me off a little bit. I will visit again however because the staff were helpful and willing to make me a new one.

Love the place, especially when they let us furrys go there for a day event

Went there for some food and drinks with some friends. Drew!!!! was very helpful with a certain allergen one of my friends has and he made sure to take good care of us during our time there. Food was delicious definitely try the pizza fries and the milkshakes are always amazing! 10/10

Just popped in for a coffee and ended up having breakfast. If you live bacon, then this is heaven. There’s also a massive choice of coffees to choose from.

Popped in with my 5yo boy. Staff were pleasant. Coffee and food were OK, but sausage bun and bacon bun took about 30-40 minutes. I felt like the entire place could do with a good scrub. But I do think that's the appeal for students and people wanting food after a night out boozing. I don't think I will return.

Really great place, amazing coffees and cocktails. Breakfast is great but for dinner it’s fairly average.

One hour wait for a couple of coffees

An hour of waiting for one shake in an almost empty place. Employees go back and forth. The premises are dirty and require general cleaning. Sofas with stains and crumbs. There are empty cups and plates on every table from previous guests. I'll give it a wide berth.

The cookie dough dessert tasted amazing, the portion was big so it’s better to share it with others. The burger set was average. I think I’d try another dish next time. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant. The price is also reasonable.

Came for a oat hot chocolate and I wasn’t disappointed. Really yum but could’ve gone heavier on the marshmallows. Great service, tables less sticky than I remember which is good. A fun vibe, also good music.

Absolutely fuming! 3 weeks ago we booked a table for 11 people for my son's 18th birthday on new years eve, we turn up to find they aren't even open! this has totally ruined what should've been a great day and we are not going to be able to find anywhere on new years eve now! Thanks for ruining our day.

Great place to come for coffee and a light bite with friends. Staff are very polite, friendly and welcoming. Food is nice enough with a variety to suit all palets and wallets, very wide variety of drinks both hot and cold. Yes it's in a student area and students do make up the bulk of the clientèle but don't let that put you off, the atmosphere and decor is great. Weather you just want to unwind with a hot beverage or meet with friends for a drink and a nibble, then I can say this is one of the best places to go.

Food was below average for me. 2 of the 3 dishes we ordered were ok, 1 was poor. We waited and waited and waited for our drinks, finally after a second reminder we got them but they were good to be fair. Not great food, poor service, not sure I'd return. Shame really as it's a pretty cool looking place.

2 weeks ago i had the absolute pleasure of visiting this fine establishment. By my surprise i met a lovely young fellow of a cat. i heard rumors of this cat but seeing him in the flesh or should i say furrrr was brilliant and now must rate cafe 5 STARS

I had an amazing experience and was made to feel extremely welcome by all of the staff, I enjoyed some well prepared food delivered with a smile. Big shout out in particular to David and Sophie & all of the kitchen staff!!!

Came today with my family and well utterly disappointed. We paid a fair amount for food and milkshakes and well the milkshakes were absolutely disgusting. The food was average. The state of the place too was vile. Tables were more sticky than a night clubs floor. I can fairly say we will not be returning, I would have much preferred a meal at McDonald’s so yeah there’s my honest review. Think the owners need a serious re think or maybe close the place down.

Student gaff. Possibly the worst food ive eaten outside of a hospital. The Nachos weren't nachos but some kind of corn savoury 'crisp' things. The salsa was thin and cold and all coagulated under this coating of melted cheddar. Nae jalapenos! Also thin weak tea. Its true 'fast' food served slow.

Awful review we went there just for a drink and we were asked to Pipe down and there was only 4 of us and we went for only one drink but after that we left because we were put off by the staffs attitude

Really nice place, came here for some cocktails which were really good! There is a great variety. When I went they had run out of some ingredients but the bartender, (Alex I think) was really great and replaced the missing ingredients with substitutes and was overall really friendly!

A hidden gem. Can't believe I haven't been here before! Man size portions, well cooked, great selection. Doggy friendly in the outside area. I will probably just move in this summer! The best mozzarella sticks in Plymouth 😍
