Tesco Cafe in Plymouth

Ordered 2 coffees and 2 bacon baps. Waited 50 mins for bacon baps only to find out the order wasn't put through to the kitchen. Very disappointed

What a lovely breakfast here at Roborough Tesco, food was hot and the price is not to dear. The toilets are clean and disable friendly, there is also trolly lockers whist you have you meal.

We use the cafe frequently. on this occasion we had a takeaway. The choice is good and children are well catered for. The food was well packaged and still hot when we arrived home. Very tasty, we will certainly use this again.

Credit where it's due I have just been and had The Breakfast in the cafe. Wonderful smiles from the staff, polite and welcoming and the food was hot and fresh and one of the best breakfasts I've had in a while so I wanted to leave a review. I will be returning. Thanks ☺

Went here last Wednesday with my grandchildren. Was told would be half an hour. Was OK with that. Was about to walk out after forty five minutes, when food was bought to us. Opening up my bun to see a piece of bacon that looked like it had been taken straight from packaging and put straight on my bun, was not at all appetising. Won't be going again.

Wort breakfast ever! Overcooked egg. Fried bread was undercooked. One sausage 2 inches long. One rasher of bacon undercooked. Waste of money for £4.49. My son had a bacon bap. £2.79 for one small roll and one rash of undercooked bacon. And we had to wait half an hours for this rubbish.

So I went here today with my mum for a milk shake and egg on toast witch I ended up eatting cold due to the fact it took me about 20minutes to get a clean fork the one I was given had what looked like dried in peace of old egg from somone else's food that hadn't been washed off properly so I then politely sed witch I was then given another fork and another 3 fork witch was still dirty at this point my good was cold now so I waited the forth time 4 a fork and waited at this point the man was actually digging trough the fork to find me an actual clean one also did I mention the lady that served me the milkshake the glass was broken at the top I had to turn go back and ask if I could have a fresh glass that wasn't chipped wouldn't recommend this place to anyone standers of cleanliness aree just terrible

Breakfasts let down by small issues, such as hard fried eggs, cold sausages or bacon and left on serving hatch too long. Suggest that the breakfast hatch Bell is not loud enough for the staff to hear that food is ready to be served.

Just takeaway at the moment with a limited menu, due to Covid restrictions, but I had a great Super Breakfast Bap. Well tasty.

El lema de Tesco es "cada pequeña ayuda" sin embargo, los huevos Benedict tuve la desgracia de pedir aquí, bueno, poco seguro, pero ¿útil?No.No solo tardó años en llegar a la mesa, servido por un muchacho adolescente sin personalidad alguna.¡Este camarero completamente deprimente se dejó caer sobre la mesa sin decir una palabra!El panecillo no estaba tostado (yuk), los huevos eran PEQUEÑOS, pero lo peor de todo era ¡CONGELADO EN FRÍO (!!!) Y la salsa holandesa salía directamente de un frasco y solo sabía a vinagre.¿Y cuánto costó esto?CINCO QUID CADA UNO! ! ! ! ! !¡DIOS MIO!El menú aquí es bastante limitado, pero no sé por qué usan los ingredientes más baratos y peores.No comas aquí, es una estafa para comida completamente vil, cocinada y servida por personas que francamente no podrían importarle menos.

Nuestro Travelodge no ofrecía el desayuno adecuado, pero cerca estaba este Tesco Extra con una gran cafetería. Pedimos unos deliciosos toasties y bebidas calientes. Cuando tratamos de pagar en parte con un cupón de Tesco obtenido al comprar en las tiendas, se nos dijo sin rodeos que sentía que el café era una franquicia y una empresa independiente de Tesco. Esto me pareció sorprendente, ya que el personal llevaba distintivos de Tesco y vendía principalmente productos de marca Tesco. Toasties llegaron y fueron excelentes por cierto!

Service on the till appallingly slow today

Excellent value. Eight items for £4. All hot and excellently cooked. Breakfast for two 8ncluding toast and a pot of tea each was just over £11

This morning we would of like eggs royal but their delivery had not arrived I can understand that. But any good cook or chef could of cooked them also had the wrong hot drink very disappointed as a customer and will not be returning. So much for a nice day off ☹☹

Cafe is good for meeting friends and having a quick bite to eat. The coffee is good but the cakes are overpriced. Meals vary -sometimes good and sometimes not so good

I have eaten breakfast here on many occasions and it never disappoints.Even on Sunday at lunchtime, although we had to wait longer than usual as it was so busy, the food was freshly cooked as it always is and 95% of the serving staff were polite and efficient. In any food estabishment there are going to be mistakes made and boy do these moaners make a meal of it! Keep up the good work Tesco Cafe.

Had a breakfast with my daughter who cannot eat eggs so after waiting 5/8 minutes just standing waiting for someone to serve my daughter explained no egg please on hers. I didn't want tomato. We get tea n capicino pay n sit n drink our drinks. Quiet a while after food came. Cold beans my daughter had a bit of egg on the dried slice I wondered if the lady had used the same tongs my daughter couldn't eat the fried slice. I had no egg n I wanted scrambled egg :( the dorks looked like they needed a good scrub my daughter's cup was chipped n last night I felt quiet poorly with cramps in my tummy on speaking to my daughter she also felt unwell. Only 2 poor girls working on the cafe. One was on the til I don't think I will be going back there I would like to offer the manager of Tesco to lunch up there I would even pay! Lee mill Tesco cafe is run much much better I'll stick with Lee mill in future. I'll never use the cafe up transit way Tesco.shamefuldeffo need more staff

The 'Good for You" breakfast is one of the best around and I have eaten this here several times. T|he poached eggs are perfectly cooked with a lovely field mushroom and grilled tomato and wilted spinach. The two pieces of brown bread are good, the only grumble is they only give you one butter. But, all in all, I have had much worse in higher rated cafes.

As expected a Tesco cafer. breakfast was ok staff was friendly no waiting food hot and fresh but fine dining it was not. Would go again

I am disgusted by the very poor service that they are allowing here, i was absolutely starving and while i got my food ans it was nice, the guy who was serving clearly had 0 training as I ordered a lasagne with chips, he bought the chips to my table and then REMOVED my table number thinking that was all i ordered. The lasagne STILL had not arrived, to top it all off , he then walked RIGHT past my table with MY lasagne and I was FORCED to tell him that it was MY lasagne!!! By this time, my chips went horrible, hard and COLD. I am disgusted and very very upset.

Having ordered 2 hot chocolates, I noticed the milk frofer was dirty. I then noticed the blue dirty dish cloth beside the machine was 2 thirds brown. 3 people was served before I was and not once was this machine wiped down and milk frofer cleaned before next use. Working with food myself and having all certificates to prove I know what should be done to look after customer food safety.

I ordered a toasted panini from this cafe today and it arrived at my table a soggy mess with a salad to suit. The staff seemed too concerned about people they knew dining there to care about this issue so after a couple mouthful of this garbage i left and will not return. I understand they may have been busy gossiping with other customers but to mess up a task as simple as toasting a panini really disappointed me. The new staff seemed to be struggling with a task on the till and the manager barged on in to solve this without further explaining what to do if the new staff come across this in the future. I expected more than this front Tesco and I wish I had burnt the tenner instead.

First of all the positives: there was 1 (may be 2) staff members who looked happy to be there. The coffee was okay and the queue wasn't very long. Negatives? Design of the cafe! Who would put the serving hatch in the middle of the queuing area? Who would also have a huge wall with nothing on it apart from a sign saying "Cafe"? - what about a menu board or a clock? Also the cake table that looked like it had arrived as an afterthought. Most staff looked as though they didn't really want to be there. Food was left on the serving counter for too long. I was told (politely) to go back to my seat when I thought I would collect it rather than left it go colder. Staff all decided to go "behind the scenes" when there was food to go out and tables to clean. serving counter wiped with cloth from an apron pocket, whilst a plate of food was held nearby at a lower level. People sat around us were all remarking on the food being left at the counter. A toasted sandwich sat there on its own for ages. This was taken out, and a while later more food arrived for the same table. Can the chef not time things properly so food on the same order all arrives at the same time? This isn't the most difficult of food to prepare. When food arrived it was just on the borderline of being taken back.

Even though the surroundings of the cafe were OK, the cafe latte & Americano were not upto standard. The Cafe latte was very strong & bitter and undrinkable The Americano tasted very bitter and also undrinkable

A quick pit stop for breakfast this morning and what a pleasant surprise. The cafe was very busy but the staff were friendly, tables clean and are food arrived within minutes. Really nice. The ‘good for you breakfast’ minus the poached egg is a perfect vegan choice.

It was a quiet day, so went to Tesco Roborough Cafe for a coffee, what a mistake. There were 2 people stood in front of me when I place my order, there were at least 6 staff in the servery area but importantly only one person managing and producing drinks. She was overwhelmed, completely out her depth and from the time I placed my order, the 2 people in front of me were served, 3 people behind me in the queue and eventually I got my 2 coffee's 15 minutes after placing my order. It is obvious there is only 1 person producing drinks so why have so many other staff doing nothing, re-assign and train personnel and improve workstreams to reduce waiting times. Pathetic service.

Slow service, dirty tables, poor quality coffee and cakes not sure who owns this establishment but they need to sort it out!

Went to tesco woolwell and decided to have something to eat ,the cafe is large spacious and has a large selection to offer to the customers from breakfast ,fish finger rapes and main meals .I can recommend the breakfast

I was in the local Tesco this afternoon, and poped into the cafe for a late lunch.

Staff serving at the counter not very friendly a bit miserable .No decaf coffee come on Tesco what’s going on. The male staff clearing the table was friendly .its ok

Went here for a coffee each while at tesco Roborough and was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Excellent taste and piping hot. Also the service was really good and tables were wiped as people left, leaving the whole café area clean and inviting.

I stopped at Tesco cafe Woolwell recently. I have to say that I was blown away!! Excellent service-speedy delivery! Bacon Baps and great latte. Will definitely be going back

Had to wait over an hour and a half for my car valet so came inside to the cafe to have a quick bite to eat.

While my wife likes to brows the clothing area, I like to get a cup of tea and a scone and read the paper. Today as normal I did just that, but when I asked the lady at the counter for an extra pat of butter, I was told that it's only one per scone, now if you have seen the size of the scone you would soon realise that one pat of butter will just about cover one half of the scone, I really think that Tesco cafe are penny pinching.

I stated that their website informs of an 8pm close, only to be rudely told they close at 7pm and i was wrong..... I had to show them the website to prove to them i wasnt! Still, they still refused a family of 6 hot food at 6.10pm.. We were not the only ones turned away! Quite surprised management thought this acceptable, I would have thought that a healthy sale! Not impressed!

I haven't been to Roborough for a long time so was really surprised by the first floor in Tesco. The cafe is much nice than other Tescos - more welcoming. Also as well as F&F;, Wallis and Dorothy Perkins have their outlets.

Just so inconsistent, some days are ok, which is what you'd expect for a Tesco cafe! Other times I just cannot believe how bad it is, dirty and disorganised!

Possibly the worst cafe in Plymouth. Rude staff cold coffee just poor all round. Not sure why Costa allow this to continue.

Good food portions and good prices too. Very clean and really child friendly. The staff ate very helpful and waiting times were very short. Cutlery clean and service with a smile. However, only feedback I could give is that the drinks could be a little cheaper.

I ate breakfast here and ordered an omelette. The serving staff were very apologetic to find that they had no omelettes, which proved to be fortunate, as I hadn't expected one to be microwaved!! I was offered scrambled eggs, which were good..not over cooked and rubbery. I had cooked fresh mushrooms, tomatoes and brown toast as well...all together very enjoyable, so it was worth the wait to have freshly cooked food.

Tescos cafe is efficient and serves food quickly. It's a supermarket cafe so you know what's going to be like.

Sometimes busy and this leads to a delay in getting served. Food choices are adequate and the food is well cooked and reasonably large portions. Staff are generally friendly and attentive, though at times, some are consider that chatting amongst themselves whilst serving customers is acceptable. Tables cleaned regularly.

Such a shame this pretends to be a Costa Coffee Shop. Coffee very bland, customer service non exsistant, I advise someone from Costa get this place sorted ASAP.

Visited for lunch. Both had cheeseburger main meal. Sorry but not very good... The burger was tough and leathery, the cheese looked like a sheet of plastic, bacon was very chewy... Don't know what went wrong but the chips were ok. Overall the meal was quite tasteless and a waste of the £12 paid. The tea however was very nice. Pity the meal didn't match up.

Great American themed decor with comfortable seating. Does get very busy and nice Costa coffee. However, the hot food service is slow and a limited menu. Sainsburys and Morrisons cafe arent so nice - but better hot food choice available.

Me and my friend came to the cafe for lunch today, the lady making the hot drinks was nice. My friend had a chicken wrap, it looked worse than something I would make at home! it had hardly any chicken in and the side salad was two bits of lettuce and a slice of tomato, fair enough it was cheap but that's rubbish. My southern fried chicken wrap was nice and I got slightly more salad, the children's pasta was a good size and price. I think the cafe looks nice but the food needs improvement!!

Took my son to Tesco with me while food shopping, but relented after much moaning, he was hungry. Parked the trolley while we ordered Full English Breakfast, which was fine. However, my coffee was over-priced and bitter. Such a shame. The cafe is attractive and nicely laid out.

This cafe offers a cheap and tasty menu. The burgers are good value and coffee is of nice quality. The south African lady who served us was very friendly and helpful which made our visit enjoyable.

There are always tables full of used plates and cups. Never enough staff. Not keen on the cutlery being on the middle of the table as you never know what the previous people have used them for.

I had to go shopping again today as her ladyships trip yesterday wasn't long enough "2hours" and it was to far to go to the store beginning with W so tesco it was and being mid day a large coffe and danish was in order . Clean surroundings and table nice staff, what more could one ask for?

I have a toasted teacake in all sorts of different places and they vary in quality - this teacake was so extremely bad I had to take a photo and post this review! It came to me cold and had no fruit or flavour at all! So so bad.

Always an easy bite, toddler friendly. Varyingly helpful staff. Delicious breakfast baps, would recommend over a McD breakfast.

We stopped for lunch and got 2 cold jacket potatoes with tuna mayo there was no butter it could melt anyway the tuna was really dry my friend had a sausage roll and chips and the chips there was less then a handful of warm counter chips that tasted like they'd been out a while and the sausage roll was the worst my friend had tasted on a positive note the machine made latte was nice

When first opened I couldn't recommend it enough unfortunately today when visited, slow service ( lady couldn't figure out how to change hash brown to tomatoes and got very confused and frustrated with us, then still manage to get it wrong, 15 mins later after help from another staff member finally got the right order but charged us for the wrong coffee ) untidy staff (wearing skinny jeans and tops) not looking very professional. Food awaiting on hot sides taking staff a very long time on delivering to the point you wanted to get it yourself, Which when arrived was cold. Very disappointed service, as that was our local grocery store and was nice to grab food after our shop but doubt we will be returning to restaurant.

We had a full english breakfast and it was really tasty. Came out quite quickly, was hot and very well cooked. The service at the till was quite slow but otherwise we were impressed.

Went for a cooked breakfast but stone cold. Tables always need clearing and wiping down. Have given it a go a few times but no improvement. Ok for a quick coffee and a rest. Only two staff seems to be around one of which is in the kitchen.

It's a café. It's in Tesco. They serve the usual 'everything with chips' if you want them. It is always busy, noisy and can be a little untidy if staff haven't had time to clear tables. Ok for an essential quick snack but not a place to relax with your coffee.

Kids were starving hungry after being stuck in Christmas shopping traffic and it was half empty so fit the bill today.

Here now cups are dirty staff are uninterested, cutlery is dirty. Maybe a mistake coming here, well won't be coming back

Needed to take a break for a mug of tea and a piece of cake late afternoon. Store busy but maybe only a dozen in the cafe half of whom were children with a parent. The food and drink was surprisingly expensive, especially given what you would pay for the same stuff from the shelves downstairs. Very slow at the till, the lady looked ashen and preoccupied staring into distant space. A young lad responsible for drinks was faster, doing his best to react to orders and have them done as soon as we left the till. The cafe is a resting point rather than a pleasant spot to waste some time. The only lift was the sudden spike of enthusiasm from the older lady who rushed off and return quickly with some paper and materials including crayons for the kids. I wouldn't rush to use this place again. Although there seem to be lots of takeaways on the same site and just up the road I don't know if there's anywhere easy going to sit and relax in Woolwell.

Was completely starving one day while our friends went shopping so stopped in for a light lunch. Not much to offer, extortionately over priced and service was slow. We usually do our weekly shop at this store but this cafe will never get our money again.

Such a bad place to eat. Easy to get to and good place to meet people but such a disappointment. The girl on the till was very nice, but other than that it was awful. The food was quick but just looked and tasted cheap. The tables weren't particularly clean, and the "clean" cutlery on the tables was also dirty. There was only one kid going around clearing up, but the dirty stuff stayed on the table for a good 45 minutes after we finished eating, and was still there when we left.

I had the misfortune today to have breakfast in the cafe at Tesco stores in Woolwell and let me tell you dear reader, it is the WORST breakfast I have had in years.
