Nice meal overlooking the Market Place and the Knife Angel Statue

Some staff are extremely rude on this day went in to have food! Especially managers or claiming to be managers. They don’t listen to the customer and they back each up even though they are wrong. staff have a terrible attitude. Feels like kindergarten very disappointed and not a great experience this day. Food was terrible, and cold! Dirty cutlery and table. staff training regarding hospitality needs an update.

Had my quarter zip nicked by staff... I went out for the first time in Haverhill, back in July and left my quarter zip there. I called in the next day and they said they had it. So I drove back to ask for it and they then told me they did not have it... I'm very very disappointed as was a birthday gift only recently.

Lovely meal with lovely company

The mains arrived, and there was more bean juice than beans... very disappointing. We ordered dessert, and it took 45 minutes to arrive and weren't even warm, very disappointing.

Was having a lovely meal with family then I realised I had a hair/fibers on my panini as iv already eaten half of it already!! Felt sick instantly!!! Looking closer at it, it was covered! The chap who was manager said it’s not a hair, I said I don’t care it’s all over it and iv eaten it. They refunded me for that meal. Don’t feel as if that’s enough tbh last time I eat from there!! I didn’t get a photo as I was fuming and wanted answer immediately! They couldn’t tell me what it was!

A friend & I ,visiting Haverhill,found ourselves starving @ 9.30pm..so we popped into Drabbet & Smock. Wow! So impressive..it was bustling. Super friendly ,fast service , tasty & amazing value. My friend had never been to a 'Spoons before was totally happy with her herb chicken. My Halloumi fries & salad were delicious.Added to the experience,neither of us had our reading glasses so asked for help from a group of local guys nearby.They were terrific sports. Going thru'the menu & finally loaning us a pair of glasses!!!Every visit to Haverhill now, we dine & D&B,& bring others with us. 🥰

I recently dined at drabbit and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The chips, burger, and onion rings were all served cold. This was a 30 minutes wait This significantly impacted the quality and enjoyment of the meal.I hope the restaurant can improve its food handling to ensure meals are served hot and fresh. Despite this, the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant,

Not a bad pub, but the food always turns up warm rather than hot. Still, they are consistently warm.

Decent enough food, very quick service. Great if you *really* don't want to cook and are pressed for time.

Food and drink are always great value for money.

Cask beer “old leg over” was in top condition, as was the Adam’s..good to see some different beers apart from the bland green king beers and of course equally bland doom bar …

Seriously, I would rather get a KFC or McDonald's than eat here. The first time I ate here the cooked breakfast was almost cold. I thought I'd give it a second chance but the chicken burger meal was cold too. Would not recommend for food.

Just bad. Cold chips cold chicken burgers. If I wanted cold food I would go to Iceland. This is the last time I ever came to wetherspoon haverhill. We have been here twice now and the food was bad both times. What "restaurant" can't even serve hot chips. Just bad you can get away with serving rubbish. It's a goodbye from me 😔

Gosh this was a dire wetherspoons. Everything everywhere was sticky and dirty! From door handle, menu, table even after I had asked anyone to clean it. The toilets were unpleasant and smelt!

Tasty sausages! Unfortunately I had to cancel the dessert because it hadn't arrived by the time we had to leave.

It was an amazing place with smiling faces all around. Epic drinks 🍻 which was love honestly. Spend 4-5 hours in and had the best time ever with friends

Had a birthday meal here last night and the fish was either off or not cooked myself and my 1 yr old baby now been throwing up for 14 hours straight they were to busy they failed to cook the food to a safe standard not good at all will not recommend or be coming back . £80 just to be sick with a sick baby as well . Cuttlery was dirty we had to use baby wipes to clean them ourselves and the staff were not very polite at all and the high chair was a state we also had ro clean god knows what off off that .... not a good standard for a weatherspoons chain not at all .... do not eat here if you do expect food poisoning like my son and i clearly not checking foods are cooked fully . Just another chaim oug to put the ring of money before service

Great atmosphere cos I was with friends. Went for Sunday breakfast, the food is ok, I had the American pancakes with a side-pot of Maple syrup. No option for mixed berries or any fruit which was a shame.

We visited after landing in Stansted and staying nearby. On arrival the venue was quite. After ordering via the app the drinks took some time to arrive and when we asked a member of staff a simple question it was like pulling teeth. The food was cold and the toilets were a disgrace. Either the management need to get a grip and make some improvements or hopefully it will be ear marked for closure as part of the restructure.

Food was lovely, hot, tasty and served in a timely manner. Can recommend the fish and chips. Staff were polite and competent. We came on a Sunday early evening, not too busy but a nice buzz about the place. Will definitely visit gain if in the area. No parking on site but after 6pm there are spots in the surrounding streets for free

Last few months service and food quality and speed has gone very downhill

Another Spoons ticked off the list. Food was good, but sadly the eating area was tired, tatty and a bit grubby, sadly it's a reflection of Haverhill itself

Was Cold food. Rude staff. Worst wetherspoons we ever stepped into.. refunded half. Think people who go to bars... need to be reminded that there's kids around during a time scale and to curv thier language... using the f word after every normal word.

Food came out cold. Especially when I'd only just paid for it and it arrives.. chips cold and raw crunch, bbq chicken melt the chicken still cold in the middle, and pathetic bacon and half melted cheese on top. Fish burnt on outside still cold in the middle and had that awful raw fish taste. Ordered daughters main but never arrived.. and still expected me to pay for their error when mentioned... and told them food cold... I did get a refund for half of what I paid for... and only got sent 2 bowls of still half warm stale type chips even though apparently they came straight out the fryer. This is the worst whetherspoons establishment I have ever walked in. When we walked in the tables at the door entrance hadn't been cleared away so wasn't even a table set to sit at. As a spoons you don't expect high company brand standards but this one was pure awful and really doesn't deserve the 1 star it was given and isn't 1 that I would recommend and never walk through the door again. Usually a weatherspoons we always satisfied... but everything in this one was just not an experience to suffer again. I don't recommend this place at all and extremely disappointed in my whole dining experience with this place.

For it's size Haverhill has quite a few pubs and some of them pretty good. Wetherspoons can be hit or miss but the Drabbit is definitely a hit. The usual good value grub and beer but it's also a very well run pub, with hard working staff and a lovely buzz of locals enjoying themselves.

Dirty table. We requested 3 different dishes and they had none of the ingredients for any of them. We walked out and went to a local cafe.

We went to this Wetherspoons for breakfast. My husband ordered a vegetarian breakfast and firstly the order came out wrong and then when it arrived it was cold. The coffee machine was not working properly either and only tea was available. We wouldn't visit again.

Dirty cutlery asked for clean , still came back with stained cutlery.

Very poor in all aspects, food was over cooked mash potato was congealed and grey in colour looked like it was microwaved many times, the mushy peas the same, gravy was just lumps. Plates and food was cold, when served plates just put down on table with no comments asking whose was what. Drinks the same dumped down and spilt. Had to ask for table to be wiped as it was dirty! But was given wet cloth and told I could do it. If you going to offer food like this I would give up and wait till your staff are capable, trained and happy to be in the hospitality trade. I have been in the trade on and off for many years but would be ashamed to have an establishment as this.

Just popped in for a quick drink and a catch up with an old friend. Service was quick and friendly.

Wow what attitude the staff have rude and dismissive and now we come to the terrible food my wife asked for medium rare steak and got medium well and our friend asked for medium and got rare his plate consisted of steak and a dollop of mash nothing else the staff just don't care won't be in again.

The staff seem to have an rude attitude. Wouldn't not recommend it return here, 1 hour we waited for food, chased it up at the bar told 5-10 minutes still no food asked waitress eventually food come out. But no apologies and seem to have a ride attitude. First time visiting wouldn't definitely no return. It's definitely not a happy, relaxing atmosphere very loud and rude staff.

Terrible place to eat now days. Requested a hot plate and runny eggs. Neither came to the table, eggs were hard, plate freezing cold, making food Luke warm, requested a new egg giving them a chance to put things right. Egg came slapped on the table with no care and server walked off. Also new egg came back running all over the plate like someone deliberately broke the yoke.

Very small overcrowded seating area, if you like noisey chatter then this is the place for you.

I live in Scotland but I grew up in Haverhill, I come back down every so often to see friends and family and since I work for Wetherspoon I often go into a Wetherspoons wherever I am (discount lol). I come in here a few times for every time I’m down and every time I have been in the pub has been so dirty. There’s always dirty glasses on every table, the floor is a mess, tables dirty etc. Service is mediocre, most of the staff do not look happy/approachable (I understand it can be a very draining job, I am a manager so 100% understand but customer service is key to this job) The wait on food and drinks (iorder) can be long sometimes, always seem to have only 1 or 2 people on the floor. Every-time I’ve had food it’s been good, have definitely had worse! Overall it’s an okay pub, it’s nowhere near as good as other ones I’ve been to.

Food and drinks met expectations. The biggest problem was how dirty the pub, tables, cutlery and service areas are.

Utter disgrace I went in to clarify that my assistance dog would be allowed in was told they don't allow dogs but assistantance dogs are legally required to be allowed. The bar tender told me if we sat outside and had the dog outside the designated seating area we would be fine. Not 2 minutes later who seemed to be the manager with a real attitude came and told us to get out. Told him he was being an idiot and walked off as there is no sense in arguing with stupid. No signage indicating no dogs allowed refused entry to an assistance dog against the law. Horrid staff. Avoid like the plague

Really popular for breakfast, nice treat

Scruffier than usual Spoons with the floor staff working really hard to keep up with serving and clearing. The stock curry was fine and as expected. Real Ale was cloudy but that’s not unusual. The lady customer who decided it was fine to park her van outside the window for over an hour whilst meeting friends spoilt the view unless the pub had issues with their drains!!

We pop in to the pub every Friday with my father and daughter. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Nothing is a problem for them and they always go above and beyond for us. Thank you for making our Friday family breakfast time special. Shout out to Karen manager, Jack, Luke, Tracey, and Toni

Visited loads of Wetherspoon establishments. By far the worst. 25 minutes waiting for drinks and about 45 minutes for food staff were unhelpful and actually rude. Curry Night, which again worst ever experienced at a Witherspoon. Food either cold or burnt.

Not as big as some Spoons but quality is better than quantity. I liked the way the front opened up onto the street so that we could enjoy the lovely summer weather.

Just returned from having a coffee at Drabbet. Come here quite often but this was the worst experience we have had. First we sat at a high table 2 of the chairs are completely worn out with foam hanging out and filthy so need to swap chairs around then there is food over one of them and the floor underneath was filthy!! Asked if it could be cleaned which was done very begrudgingly by one of the young staff with lots of muck still left behind. Before we left went to the toilets and while there a knock on the ladies and a lad just leaned round and signed the toilet check list, I asked shouldn't it be checked and I was ignored and he left!! Lots of the chairs are falling apart and the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. The regular staff are great and work really hard but some of the new ones do not.

Tammie is the best manager so attentive and welcoming will definitely return. Lovely atmosphere and reasonably priced.

What a difference decent staff make, called in for breakfast that was presented hot and tasted fine,staff very efficient and dressed smartly, perhaps wetherspoons in sudbury should send there staff here for a few lessons in customer care and food preparation and learn that cooked food should be served hot!, I say this as our breakfasts there a week ago were returned for a refund, very disappointing!

Well came here for breakfast as they have started breakfast muffins. Advertising them as new to menu. However non available, so why put on menu !! 😡

Called in on off chance made welcome and got table straight away. Staff polite and breakfast menu was OK. Would call again when next in haverhill.

We have been comming here for absolutely ages! Whether its birthdays, celebrations, partys, anything we absolutely love to come here for food after a nice celebration. The food here is amazing and tasty. Sometimes they might get your order wrong a bit but all restaurants sometimes do it. There are all different types of foods here. Brunches for breakfast, sandwiches if you wanted for lunch, and some burgers or tasty stuff for dinner too.Food is amazing and will definitely keep comming back once the lockdown is over. Stay safe. LOVE THIS PLACE. Foods always on point. Always a cheeky deal. Portions are huge, prices are cheap, waitresses are so nice, GREAT value for money, Only downside is BBQ sauce is 50p, and if you need a wee you have to hike a mile but heyho. Come here with friends, family, for pre drinks on a night out. Love it.

We pre empted a visit on a Saturday night, we did not have to queue and was directed by doorman to complete the track and trace. We were greeted by a staff member who sat us down at a table, it all felt very personal for a Whetherspoons and it was a welcome change. We ordered via the app as we always do and food and drinks came out quickly, the food was hot and tasty but as you know whetherspoons is not posh, it’s pub grub and it was fine for us. There is no parking here but there is free parking at nearby car parks after 6pm. Staff were keeping an eye on diners who were not sticking to there seated area and instructing them to return if people were congregating, well done! We had a good experience and would return

Went for curry lads night out with my father in law ! Have to say brilliant value we both had chicken tikka masala came with rice naan and poppadom with 2 pints included £16 all in .. curry experts will maybe tell to go to Indian restaurant... but really tasty ... try it !

The Drabbet Smock is a great place to eat. Food is good and quick + very cheap.Beers and wine the best prices you will find anywhear.Overall a great place to eat and drink.We always go there when we go to Ciniworld usally on a Tuesday or Wednesday when it is quieter after 20.00hrs.

Just dropped in for a quick drink as I’m passing through.Prices good but that’s where it ends.Pretty much the same as all of this chain. Slow service. Drunk 50+ men swearing and burping.Basically the dregs of the town looking for somewhere warm to spend time before they go back to their council flat.Only thing I can say, is that it was clean.

The drabbet is a place me and my family always go whatever where doing. New years eve,birthdays,celebrations anything we love going there. The food is really nice and yummy and there are a nice selection of things for kids and grownups to have. Aswell as drinks. Its never really that loud and its always nice to be there. Sometimes we cant get tables because of how busy it is or sometimes they get the food wrong but apart from that , we enjoy being there! There are disabled toilets which you can get the key from the bar and there are also toilets upstairs too. Toilets are clean. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to have a nice family meal or with friends. It is a lovely place to eat and food is always nice. Would recommend. Xxx

This used to be a good pub, but, having not visited for a couple of years, called in for a meal, only to find four of the seven real ales on tap had sold out and the food wasn't up to the usual standard. Waitress was a little laissez-faire when we complained of the portion size of some extra veg we ordered and didn't clean the tables properly.

After visiting this establishment for many years, on a night out with friends a waitress approached our table with shots ordered to the table next to us, who had left, she asked if the drinks were ours to which we answered no multiple times this went back and forth to which she said we should have them anyway as they had left. A short while after the manager came stomping over to our table demanding we pay for the shots as we shouldn’t have drank them, and called us liars when we tried to explain the situation to him in an extremely defensive manner. I have never in my life been spoken to in such a disgusting manner in a public place, I would have hoped that management would have received adequate training and gained enough life skills to know how to speak to people with a little respect! I will never recommend this place to anyone if that’s the way people are treated. Appalled and extremely disappointed!

I can’t fault it. So cheap, food is always good (don’t expect Michelin star, as you are not paying for that kind of thing), nice staff, so convenient and food always comes super quick. Much better than Saffron Walden or Bury at Edmunds ones. We choose this place over any restaurant in town, just no hassle good bargain food place.

Too much noise. Difficult to find. No parking. All i wanted was a steak and pint. Sort of fits with Haverhill nowhere to eat in peace with a pint.....AVOID

When family from abroad came to stay for a few days, we were looking for a cheap yet relatively typically British night out. With 5 of us arriving, we waited a while, about 10 mins, for a booth which could comfortably sit us all. We did have to ask the table to be wiped as it was a bit sticky but hey, that is a true British experience for ya. The staff were nice, not overly friendly but not rude either. Some good deals on depending on what day you come. The food wasn't the best we've ever had but considering the price and venue, it was more than adequate. We all enjoyed our food and drinks and had a great family evening without breaking the bank.

They gave a 2 year old child full sized adult cutlery instead of kids cutlery !

I'm Coeliac, so having few options I ordered the Lamb Shank as I've had this in other Wetherspoons and its been ok. The server came over with the drinks and said it was unavailable so asked what else I'd like and I went for the Chicken Tikka Masala, made it clear I needed the gluten free option, no naan! When the food came out it had a naan plonked on the top, I told the girl I had ordered the gluten free one. She apologised and took it away, 30 seconds later she came back with no naan, I asked if she had simply taken the naan off, and she said yes! I then pointed out that I couldn't eat it due to cross contamination. She took it away and came back a few minutes later with 4 fresh poppadoms on it. The next day I was ill, I have a feeling they fried the poppadoms in the same fryer as everything else. I have tried several times to contact Wetherspoons and had no response. I will not eat here again or recommend it to anyone else! They should not offer gluten free options if they can't deliver them!

Service was absolutely rubbish, food orders mixed up and a request for the third meal after 30 minutes after two meals were brought to the table.

I cannot believe it, now having dinner and the rude staff literally jusy cleaned the floor and the table next to us and without any hesitation just threw his broom down next to us and walked outside for a social without hatting an eyelid, blocked my passage of getting up and left all the stuff there, im disgusted and outraged and not an apology in sight.

Service and food to a good standard as ever. A****, will return. To be there again on this Tuesday coming for brunch
