A total shambles. Sunday carvery .couldn't eat any of the meat as mostly fat.Plates so small you can't get much else on the plate.waitress saw me trying to catch her attention and hid .eventually came over sheepish with bill and at that point looked at all the fatty meat on plate and her response was sorry about that .we then never say any staff .They had vanished into kitchen .On our way out there was a lady who had mobility issues annoyed there was no disabled access just a set of very steep stairs .£24 each for 2 courses and only starter choice was soup.Dont waste your time .

We stopped here as it’s dog friendly and we prefer sitting in the bar with our dogs anyway. The food was lovely we had a soup and panini deal . The bar man was very friendly and told us about tho r history of the pub. Don’t let the negative reviews put you off, our food was hot and we might have waited a while for our food but it was worth it and the restaurant was busy but at least the food was fresh. I would rather wait longer for fresh food and we would definetly visit again if we went ever up that way

Ate here twice in a week. Once in bar area with dogs and once upstairs. Defo enjoyed the bar environment better - warmer and more relaxed. Food good in both locations x

Worst meal in a long time. Avoid at all costs it's not a proper restaurant. Food mostly bought in, I complained to the young waitress that my vegetables had been undercooked, she didn't apologise and there was no message coming back from the kitchen. Then we were ignored. We weren't offered the dessert menu. A very low quality and disappointing experience.

Very bad experience from start to finish. The food was completely mediocre and overpriced. None of the meals were hot. The fries were wet and raw. 45 minutes to get our meal after 10 minutes for drinks order; very bad service. Woman mangeress was very abrupt and rude. Do not attend prices expensive for awful cold food and worst service.

We prebooked on a Sunday evening hoping to have the carvery. We arrived and the restaurant was relatively busy. It took around 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order which was a bad sign. A few of our party had ordered starters and we requested the kids mains to be brought out with the starters. Everyone ordered a carvery. The starters were fine, although the "king prawns" were tiny and certainly not king prawns. My son enjoyed his slider burgers and chips. After waiting an hour and a half and long after starters were finished we were finally told we could go up to the carvery. When we approached the carvery we were told that the turkey and beef had ran out and there was now only gammon or pork available. I do not eat pork and so complained as we had ordered the carvery well over an hour ago. I was told that there had been no turkey all afternoon and that the beef had just ran out 10 minutes previous. Had I been advised upon ordering that half the carvery would be unavailable I would have ordered something else off the menu. As I was clearly unhappy, one of the staff team spoke to the chef and offered to grill a chicken breast for me instead. My mum who doesn't like to make a fuss was forced to eat pork which she would never normally eat. By the time my husband got to the carvery that too had ran out and it was gammon or nothing, again not something he would ever choose to have. There was also no stuffing, no yorkshire puddings and no mashed potato left. I was brought a free drink as an apology which was appreciated but it meant that I had now waited almost 2 hours for any food. My husband queried that the carvery was half empty and was told they would bring several yorkshire puddings out from the kitchen, halfway through eating their meals. However there would be no mash or stuffing. The table next to us were also muttering about the lack of choice and food coming to the table in dribs and drabs when available. When my chicken breast arrived I was told to go up to the carvery to help myself to sides and still half the serving station was empty. The food itself was actually lovely, I couldn't fault it. What let it down was the service. This could have been avoided if at the point of ordering we were told that several food items were running low and half the meats were unavailable. The staff were all lovely and tried their best to help but the fact is that 3 out of 4 adults ended up eating something they did not want. If they are unable to cope with demand then they should take less bookings. We paid full price for 4 roast dinners, the same price as people earlier in the day but were offered far less choice with half the sides missing and 2 out of 4 meats unavailable. Really disappointing service that would put me off going back.

We visited the Coach House on Friday 26th when we were on holiday and couldn't fault the meal. We had a bar lunch for 2 adults and 2 children, and on entry were given a friendly welcome. The meal was very good and excellent value for money. They also do takeaway meals, and we also had a takeaway pizza earlier in the week. It was also very good. Just wished we had ordered 2 instead of 1! This is a great wee place that might look appealing from the outside but is worth going.

It's s nice little pub serving normal sort of food. It's cosy and friendly. The eagle is a little better but only marginally . Nice local pub.

Gran lugar.

My First port of call in Dornoch when on holiday this month. Had a good reception and a beer. Good choice of whisky at a fair price

Staying at the nearby Dornoch Caravan and Camping site we walked into Dornoch for a meal. We chose The Coach House because it is dog friendly. We received a warm welcome by staff and locals alike along with their dogs. Our haddock and chips arrived promptly and were delicious. However, our Westie started making a fuss. One of the locals and then a member of staff offered to “dog sit” so we could enjoy our meal. Exceptional! Thanks to all involved.

This Country Hotel lacks love and attention. Outside front and sides are very tall weeds, the flower boxes were full of wilted. Car park resembles a quary.. On entering the dining room was well presented albeit I felt it chilly . Only 3 diners and we had to wait to see if we would be accommodated. We were..we sat at our table and the really lovely young server took our order limited menu and 3 choices off that evening.. Food was just OK...not value for money @ £17.95 for haddock and chips. Overall not the greatest.. I'd love to see the outside tidied up and give the hotel some road side appeal

After arriving at skye and looking for places to eat this proved a little difficult as it was out of season and places had limited opening hours. We went for Gabbro bar after seeing it on google maps. The pictures of food looked passable. After getting there having to get our own wipes to clean the table after ordering things weren't looking good, then the toilets were very rundown and like a back street bar toilets. The food then came out in baskets, lined with greaseproof paper. (Something you would expect in a arcade) Fish and chips and the macaroni and chips. Even a plate would have been acceptable even though the fish was clearly out the freezer and very greasy. To top it off a random dog was wandering around trying to smell the food on the table and pushing its way under the table to check for any food.

The fab cinnamon buns elevated our coffee stop from great to awesome! Other really yummy cakes are available. Oh, and the vegan tomato pizza swirl looked great too if you fancy a savoury.

Excellent traditional meal - fish and chips, haggis bon bons and sticky coffee pudding. Cooked to perfection and with friendly, welcoming and quirky service! Definitely recommended
