My favorite restaurant I've never been to. Hire Mark already

Locals bar with nice atmosphere. Beer very good and not expensive. Food pub fare with very good fish and chips and excellent service. Ideal stop if using ferry.

Restaurant du bout du monde à Uig. Dans une zone peu dense... c'est peu dire, ce petit restaurant ne paie pas de mine, et pourtant... une cuisine simple mais bonne, le personnel est sympathique et accueillant. Un moment agréable !

The restaurant/bar needs some serious tlc. Stained chairs and a bad smell as you go in. Food service was slow, the older man was very nice though just rushed off his feet. The food was actually pretty good. We had the burgers. The hot chocolate was dreadful and very pricey compared to the other places we've been around Skye.

Food was delicious and very cheap. Staff was great. Bar dog was friendly. Guy behind the bar was very knowledgeable about all the whiskeys on offer and kindly explained the ins and outs of enjoying the taste. Highly recommend abit of down time here.

We arrived right at 5:30 when they were serving dinner again. We had no problem getting a table but it got quite busy soon after. Our server was friendly and he was the only server working. I thought did a great job handling all of the tables. We had soup and fish & chips which were both good. The table beside us really enjoyed their grilled haddock. We watched the ferry pull in and the cars load on.

Gemütliches Hafenrestaurant. Lasst euch von der bar mit grosser whiskey auswahl nicht abschrecken :) Das essen war super, und man wird richtig satt.

We had a wonderful seafood lunch here! Got the daily specials: mussels, salmon, and scallops. All were very fresh and generous portions. We also got a soup (chicken and rice) and it was hearty and tasty. Dining room is simply decorated, but with an expansive view over the port of Uig. Service was very friendly and the barman gave us some advice on which whiskeys to try while in Skye. We came at 2:55p and they still served us hot food even though the kitchen closed at 3:00p. Coffee was also got and tasty. We highly recommend the Bakur restaurant!

Exactly what I needed stepping off the Ferry. We drove by quickly after driving off the ferry, but turned around. So glad we did. Mussels are excellent, fish and chips are gorgeous! Lovely little restaurant, comfy, and some tables have a nice view of the Harbour. Service is great. Highly recommend.

Food was good/great, 4 meals (haddock, goat cheese tart, mussels, Mac-cheese). Staff was great, fast & fun. It’s not a fancy place, just down to earth decent good food. With noisy fun bar attached.

We enjoyed a relaxed early (5:30pm) dinner on a Monday night. No problems getting a table. Today they were not taking bookings but being early got a table with a view over the harbour. Friendly staff, prompt service. Mussels special was very nice with a nice broth that worked well with the mussels and garlic bread but was a little salty for my taste on its own.

Went there and was going to eat. The pub/restaurant smelled so badly so I bailed on it, beer was good

We were very pleasantly surprised! We ordered the scallops as an appetizer, then the mussels and the grilled haddock. The scallops were delicious! Service was also great!

Bedienungen waren nett, das Essen (Mac & Cheese waren sehr lecker. Von den zwei Portionen wurde unsere Tochter nebenbei auch satt.

Eigentlich haben wir nicht viel erwartet, am Ende waren wir super zufrieden. Die hausgemachten mac‘n‘cheese waren hervorragend. Der Service hatte gut zu tun und war trotzdem freundlich. Einfach und lecker. Will kein Sterne-Restaurant sein, ist aber super lecker.

Big portion sizes and friendly staff.

Disastrous experience: after waiting outside in the cold for 1 hour and 15 minutes, we were finally able to sit down inside, only to wait another hour for our meals to arrive... The food was tasteless and expensive, with a special mention for the mussels, which were disastrous... Inevitably, the restaurant is full because people have no choice but to come here, so please open a restaurant with decent opening times nearby. If you have the choice, prefer to eat something in a mini-market.

This place offers an excellent opportunity to experience a cognitive dissonance: bad google reviews and absolutely excellent experience. I highly recommend this place.

Was een prima verblijf. Uiterst vriendelijk en betrokken personeel. Chickenwings waren echt heerlijk, en ook de steak pie, die als stoofpot werd geserveerd was top. Ja, het is een pub, met wat lawaai en een hond, die ik overigens nauwelijks heb gezien, maar een plaats waar je door de locals hartelijk wordt ontvangen. En als je van Wiskey (Wisky) houdt een must stop, want de eigenaar is een echte kenner, die op basis van zijn enorme kennis zelf een heerlijke Wiskey heeft gebrouwen!

Cuisine très simple mais un peu chère pour la qualité. Un peu déçu par le saumon, nous aurions aimé avoir un produit de la mer. Pour un restaurant de mer Personnel agréable et sympathique. Cadre mignon avec la vue sur la baie

We ended up here after a long day visiting the north western shore of the island. There are not a lot of options for dining in Uig without a reservation. But Bakur Bar welcomed us with open arms and we got seated right away. We sat at the window with a nice view of the shore, the pier and the mountains. There is also outdoor seating but a bit too windy for our liking. The menu had options for both vegetarians, children, meat lovers and fish enthusiasts. We had the goat cheese tart with potatoes and the mussels with a side dish of fries. Both were plenty and great tasting. Afterwards we had coffee and cake. Also delicious. The staff was present, willing to assist and friendly.

Fabulous langoustine, then moules mariniere for me, and chicken wings, then haddock and chips for husband. All cooked beautifully and served by lovely, friendly staff. What more could you want?

It was good if you have no other place to eat.

Primo vantaggio: rimane aperto fino a tardi. Secondo: è aperto anche la domenica, e visto che siamo in Scozia, è precisamente sull'isola di Skye, non è scontato per niente. Locale alla buona. Buono il piatto del giorno che in questo caso è pesce al forno (salmone) con chips e insalata. Chips lasciatemelo dire SPAZIALI! Mio marito ha preso le cozze ed è rimasto assolutamente soddisfatto.

They are hiding a Michilein Star chef in their kitchen. Simply the best fish and chips we have ever had.

Friendly staff, great view and yummy steak pie.

We weren’t expecting much - there are some unfavourable reviews ontheline. It’s a bar/restaurant…no Michelin stars and it isn’t trying to be fancy but the whole experience was positively delightful - the staff were friendly, we enjoyed watching the ferries loading and the food was delicious; generous portions, well-cooked and a plentiful supply of condiments!

Kann die schlechten/mittelmäßigen Bewertungen nicht verstehen - vielleicht Tagesform-abhängig? Bei uns war man super freundlich, ließ uns trotz kurz vor Küchenschluß noch bestellen und man konnte entspannt ein paar Sätze mit der Staff ratschen. Klar, das ist kein Sterne-Restaurant und das sollte man auch nicht erwarten - aber das Essen war lecker, das Ambiente authentisch und die Kellner ehrlich 👍

Aardige tent aan de haven. Wat rommelig met de bestelling . Verkeerde gebracht dat voor andere gasten was. Dus nog weer lang wachten op onze bestelling 45 minuten!

The service was good but the food wasn't. Mac'n'cheese tasted like nothing. My husband had the steak pie and wasn't amused as well.

A good basic round of hot chocolate and tea provided by kind staff and with a lovely view.

Don't know why this place has low reviews! It's right on the water, the service was excellent and the food was amazing. My wife and I had the grilled haddock, and it was cooked perfectly. Exactly what we were looking for, would definitely recommend!

Contrary to other reviews, we had an excellent meal here. Starting with the soup of the day, which was chicken & rice, it was tasty, we’ll seasoned and had a nice consistency. The bread that came with it was a light brown seeded bread. We also had the fish& chips, which we thought was very good, big portion, crispy, as were the chips. We enjoyed our meal very much.

After being turned away from the Galley restaurant up the road. We were welcomed with open arms. We were seated right away. Our waiter was extremely friendly and courteous. Food portions are generous, and came out quickly. We left happy and full. Prices are average and posted on the menu.

Reduced menu due to the time of year but also expensive with no prices on menu board. Came as a little shock when the bill came for middle of the road fish and chips. Nice views across the bay though.

Disappointing food , dull ambience and an interior ,which is in dire need of refurbish

We stopped by here after our visit to the Quirang. It's also next to the Islay Brewery gift shop, so we stopped in and grabbed some bottles to go. There were only a few lunch options, but that was perfectly fine with us. We were wanting some fish & chips and steak pie anyways. Food was delicious. Spectacular view of the pier and great midway stop if you are completing the Trottenish Loop.

Friendliest and best pub I have been to in Scotland thus far. If you make it up to Uig in the Isle of Skye, definitely try this place out.

By far the worst place I ate dinner at during the Scotland trip!

Staff are rude, spilled piping hot soup 1 staff member stood and watched us clean it up whilst the other thought it was a great time to ask what a football score was…. food was so basic was better of on the floor.

Not sure what was going on when we visited but it all was rather chaotic. Only serving soggy sandwiches and we left the hot drinks after one sip. Random dog wandering around was quite annoying and no one seemed to stop it being a nuisance. Sorry

The restaurant was still running a reduced menu, eat-in or take away, fish&chips, burger, chicken. The fried rice was quite good. Bar was well stocked, with locals playing pool. Simple, no frills. Would go again for comfort food & a pint.

Great spot to view sunset and have a beer and some yummy fish and chips! I got their fried rice with fish and it was so good, others I was with got the fish and chips and also really enjoyed. It was a really nice laid back restaurant.

Es el único lugar de Uig que sirve comida después de las 19.00. Tiene buenas vistas y el fish and chips aunque caro, estaba rico y no te quedas con hambre. Debido a la ausencia de personal te lo ponen en un plástico de take away. Hacia frío dentro, había niños y un perro corriendo de lado a lado y por ende haciendo ruido. Es un pub lugareño, no esperéis lujos.

The food okay- unfortunately it is served with plastic cutlery and styrofoam packaging. Pool table and games can be used to pass the time, for example when waiting for the ferry

Very comfy place with sea views and some plugs to charge electronic devices (which is quite handy). Staff is nice but the place is understaffed so food may take a while - best to avoid if you’re in a rush. Fish and chips is nothing special but it’s a safe option and the portion is veeeeery generous. However it would be better if they had some full sized bottles of sauces (ketchup, mayonnaise, etc.) rather than sample bags. They are incredibly difficult to open and actually I found some bitten bags which evidently other customer tried unsuccessfully to open.

Doesn't deserve low rating, great fish and chips!

Horrible. En resumen mala comida, muy mal trato y muy caro. Para no volver nunca. Pedimos langostinos. De palabra nos dijeron que eran 4 grandes y costaban 22 libras. Nos trajeron 6 pequeños y congelados, sin sabor. A la hora de pagar lo cobraron a 27 libras. Al intentar explicarles el error se rieron a la cara y tuvimos que pagar. Ni una disculpa ni nada. Además pedimos una hamburguesa de pollo que no se podía morder.

Horrible. Carísimo y la comida para olvidar. De momento el peor sitio de escocía.

Personal poco amable, un perro corriendo dentro del local por encima de la moqueta por lo que deducimos que la higiene brilla por su ausencia y molestándonos y babeando por encima de los sillones. Sinceramente asqueroso y además nos cobraron 15 libras por 4 cafés que eran agua sucia. En fin, peor imposible!!!

I went on a Monday, not mames places seem to open this day, the food was good, I had a large cheeseburger with chips, many nanny chips, and my wife the fried chicken one. The staff is super nice, they have many whiskeys to try!

The place is rather amateurish, possibly because of staff shortages, but it seemed to be one guy doing everything. The inside is pretty run down, and your food selection is pretty short and served in plastic trays. Having said that, it was also tasty and the fish tasted very fresh. Good place to stop for a lunch and very convenient for the ferry but don't expect fine dining!

Solid Pub food, good fish and chips. Best part was the customer service - witnessed the bar staff dealing very politely with an incredibly rude and entitled customer.

Best fish and chips in Scotland. Amazing selection of beers on tap. Almost no waiting time. For us it was the best restaurant experience we had on Isle of Skye.

Good food, loved the muscles and soup! Jordan our server was run off his feet, his good humor never faltered, and the service was great! We didn't mind eating out of takeout containers, it's all about the food, service and atmosphere!

Pleasant small bar, restaurant was not opened because of staff shortage, only bar food was available. Food was very delicious and it was done very quick considering there where three staff altogether.

Ignore the negative reviews, you are probably not coming here for fine dining anyway... The staff is very friendly, the service is really quick and the food is very delicious.
