After seeing all the amazing reviews I wanted to give this place a go. I waited for about 10 minutes until I actually got my food and by the time I did the doughnuts where cold. I was pretty disappointed.

So wanted to visit on our trip to york but it was closed every day so disappointing no signs up for opening times or days

Consistently amazing and always plenty of choice of toppings to go with them. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for my donuts.

The people of York have no idea how lucky they are to have this on their doorstep! I went to York Christmas markets just to get some freshly made donuts and they never disappoint! Look forward to coming and having more later in the year!

It's cold at the markets and we spotted the Donut Kitchen van. What a find. Donuts with cinnamon sugar on were fantastic. Small enough to eat one at a time from a cardboard cone. Really hot as freshly made. Staff were happy to chat while cooking the donuts. So good, went back and Gor more the next day. Delicious and reasonably priced for the large number you get in the cardboard cone

Great experience here got free sample only to lead with an order of mouthwatering hot doughnuts loved these.

This might look like such a nice little place but much of the stuff going on undercover is unfortunately not known. People who work for the owner, Nicola Slee, seem really unsatisfied about the job and are treated unfairly. She just ignores people in need and blocks them from any contact when she doesn't need them anymore. This came from one of her rejected employees who in shock told me about her terrible experience. Making good doughnuts might be the only thing apparently good about this place. For me respect in the workplace is a fundamental part of a business and unfortunately there is a huge lack of it.

Would highly recommend. And kudos to the woman who was running the stall on her own during the super busy Christmas markets with a smile on her face! Can't wait to go back again for another delicious cone.

Honestly, these donuts will leave you craving for more! Words like heavenly and transcendent are not enough to describe how good these donuts are. They are simply an experience you must have when visiting York!! Also, the staff are amazing and super friendly! :)

We stopped by the stall during our visit to York for my birthday, we were served by friendly and attentive staff. The donuts were freshly served in a cone and there were enough for at least two/three people to share. The chocolate orange sauce was delicious .

We were offered free taster donut by Tobias, and we were hooked. Called back over the food festival in September and indulged, especially the cinnamon sugar ones. Tobias was very friendly and chatty, great amabassador for the business.

We called here yesterday, it was cold and wet and we just smelt those doughnuts and had to have some. The girl serving was very chatty, informative and helpful.

Their freshly made warm donuts are delicious! And excellent service to go along with them...really made a cold wet day enjoyable

We bought a cone of donuts between us for £4, I think you get about 8 or 9 in the cone. We had the cinnamon sugar ones and they were amazing, they're very fresh and are so good! Would definitely recommend. The person serving was lovely too.

Freshly made donuts from really good batter. These are a treat and remind me of the fresh donuts of my childhood. Forget those blobs of soggy sugar soaked rings at Krispy kreme. A donut should be a treat of subtle contrasts in texture. Soft and sweet, crumbly crunch and just a dusting of cinnamon or chocolate sauce

They do the best donuts around and we go to York especially for the donut kitchen’s donuts ... even better around Christmas & new year when it’s all lively and opened till late....the owner is very friendly .... we will be visiting soon!

These are the best donuts in this area and really do out shine the expensive named donuts so if your visiting York dont forget to get your donuts from the donut kitchen on Silver street near the Shambles market

Service was so nice: interesting talk about the donuts and churros. My son loved this donuts and never wants a churro again! What I loved was the attenties every donut got so there was sugar on all the donuts! What a service! We’ll be back!

Would highly recommend The Donut Kitchen for a sweet snack on the go! You get quite a lot for what you pay for and they are really delicious. Staff were very friendly aswell!

These little doughnuts are tasty and light, and you get a considerably sized cardboard 'cone' full of them for £4 (you can have a little fork to help you eat them). I imagine most people would be happy to share a cone with a friend or partner, I would have felt like a pig eating more on my own today. You can have melted Belgian chocolate drizzled on top as well, which I did the first time and it was good. They are rolled in sugar after cooking, and you can opt for normal or cinammon sugar (I've only tried normal so far). I ate them on the way home today without getting indigestion, which is a nice bonus as I often get indigestion after eating sweet treats. The young man serving me was cheerful and polite, and I will definitely be going again.

Feeling a little peckish during while exploring York? Then head over to the Donut Kitchen for the best WARM donuts around. Our boys can never decide between the different toppings so we wind up getting two separate trays of donuts so we don't miss out on the best ones.

Had an amazing doughnut experince!! The cinammon sugar was to die for! The chocolate orange dipping sauce was a taste sensation! All in all i would highly reccomend this place for the friendly staff, great atmospere and experience and of course the creme de la creme of york doughnuts! I could have gone and got some famous donuts from the shop but made my way to get some donuts from the Donut Kitchen after the trip to Boots as I promised my son some tasty donuts. It was my second visit and I knew I would go back again after my first visit. Their dounts are so fresh, hot, soft and crispy (I really love the crispiness). The lady who served me was very friendly, chatty and pretty. I am their loyal fan now.

I visited the pop up outlet during the York Food Festival.....the donuts were amazing especially the cinemon sugar.

What a great find this was in the middle of the hustle and bustle of York’s side streets. Staffed by a very friendly girl who was fantastic with my son! The donuts were delicious and very reasonably priced!

Came across The Donut Kitchen at the Great Yorkshire Fringe and I’m so glad me and my boyfriend got some donuts to share as they were really good value for money and also tasted incredible!

Server that I've encountered has been the same each time and she's lovely, She's fun to have a conversation with and so I always find myself sat at the stand.

It is baffling how I have only been here now after 2 years of studies here. The donuts are made fresh and just right, soft enough to be fluffy and delicious but firm enough so that it doesn't feel like it will melt. Even when cold these are so much better than your average from the supermarket and at this price I would go when I have the chance. Great stuff.

If you want to do donuts you should do these donuts. If you don’t do these donuts you’re nuts. You’d be nuts to do no donuts. These are tasty and fresh and well priced and the service is superb. When in York make sure to make time to hunt these out. Don’t be nuts.

Beautiful donuts. I love this place its my second or third time of visiting and I will keep coming back. The staff are bubbly and friendly with such polite manners and service. Visited York on Tuesday and my brother had recommended The Donut Kitchen to us so we set off to find Silver Street!! (first time in York) and so pleased we found it, we got a cone of mini donuts with Belgian chocolate sauce and it was amazzzzzing !! The server was really lovely too, very friendly and chatty. So I when to Christmas market with my boyfriend in York and we could smell them meters away we went I bought 5with Belgium chocolate the lady fry them on front of us they was amazing, so nice I went there again after two weeks and I bought morehighly recommended MUST TRY!!!

As I made my through the busy crowds accompanied by the uncomfortably dense fog I was greeted by the sweet aroma of doughnuts. I followed my wiery nose only to be greeted by not only the quaint hut but also the pleasant smiles of the Donut Kitchen staff. I indulged in the generous helping of these sugary treats and made friends with ludicrously attractive staff. All in all a great stop off would highly recommend.

I visited The Donut Kitchen at the Christmas Fair in York yesterday and had the most delicious donuts in cinnamon sugar, with a Belgian chocolate orange dipping sauce! They are the best donuts I have ever had & I'll be coming back for more!

So I live in York and have had plenty of opportunity to find the best food around. Without a doubt this place is the place to be!! If you love donuts and belgian chocolate sauce this is the place for you. With a choice of cinnamon sugar or just regular you can't go wrong! Great value for money and the donuts are always fresh and perfect! Would highly recommend these to anyone.
