Lovely food and friendly efficient service by Jess and Eva. Cosy atmosphere and good lunch today. Handy for Helmsley and will be back for a spa soon!

Very poor service and food - Eat not even half of my steak which I requested to be medium and arguably this was served RARE!! I informed the “manager/waitress” in which he stated he would speak with the chef (no replacement meal offered) after waiting 10 minutes. The waitress came back with the same steak I had eat and stated they had cooked it more. We stated we wasn’t happy with this In which we were told they would never replace a steak because of the price. After the waitress leaving for around 20 minutes. He came back and looked at the plate to see that I had not eat the re-cooked steak. Confused he asked why- I therefore stated that I have received poor service and poor food. the waitress then stated he spoke with chef again whilst I was left with the rebooked steak and he would offer a replacement now half an hour later. However, all my family had finished and I had been left for 20 minutes staring at the rebooked steak. The waitress then asked if I wanted another meal. I informed him that it was far too late for that: requested the steak be took off in which he agreed just for this occasion. WOULD NOT GO BACK - Prices were ridiculous for the quality of the food. Also we was only ones in there which says it all.

Ate at the Dome as part of a relaxing Spa day. Entering in our robe and slippers, we stood for quite some time before the waitress came over and looked confused then said unless the system has updated she didn’t have us booked in. No drinks brought to the table after ordering. The 2 course lunch (included in our package) = disappointing. £14 for a small chicken & bacon Caesar salad with precooked bacon and chicken chunks. Poor end to a fabulous day.

Outstanding food and friendly service. Andy the chef was brilliant and came and spoke to us. Personal touch explaining the bacon jam! Would highly recommend for lunch and dinner (tea!) Will definitely be back again.

Wandered over for Tuesday's grill night and we decided to go for it with my partner an eye on the gluten free selections, she opted for the sirloin steak, whereas I went with the mixed grill.....Good job we brought our appetites! The sirloin steak was enormous and cooked (medium rare) to perfection and when mine arrived (even though I have a very healthy appetite) I was staggered at the selection and sheer quantity of delicious BBQ's meat, again cooked to perfection and every morsel testier than the last! We were both so full that thoughts of the dessert menu melted away. Bravo to the chef, he did a marvellous to serve up food that won't quickly be forgotten!

We ate in The Dome last night for their grill night. As I am gluten free often the options are very limited. This was not the case here. The menu was 90% gf and plenty of choice of puddings - not just a chocolate brownie as is often the case I chose the 8oz sirloin steak and my friend the mixed grill. Both portions were HUGE. I was defeated and didn’t even have room for a pudding. Guess I need to return and try again

We visited 3 times in a week as we were staying here. I’ll break it down tj the three visits: 1. Pizza takeaway, Friday night: Good selection but the pizza was very basic and pretty tasteless. I could have made better myself with little to no effort. Sorry! 2/10 2. Sunday lunch: Booked a table for late afternoon - very nice restaurant and the staff were extremely friendly and polite. We both had 3 courses and honestly cannot fault the food. Great taste, good selection on the menu and well presented. I am astonished that 2 other diners found cause for complaint when we were in - the experience was great. 3. Burger night, Thursday: Again, first class. The restaurant was clean, relaxing and spacious. We had our dog with us and this was fine. The burgers were lovely - well presented and really tasty. We didn’t have starters but nothing had dessert which again, were really good. This is a great restaurant, relaxing, clean and with a good menu selection. I’d eat here again in a heartbeat. The staff were polite and engaging. I just wouldn’t get a take away pizza!!

Visited the dome last night with friends and family. Food was excellent, the staff were amazing and the attention to detail was exceptional. Surely there is a Michelin star waiting.

One of my best spa experiences, exceptional facilities, well maintained, clean. Unique place with natural pool and series of lodges. I had the Yorkshire Spa Day including lunch and treatment - I went for the Turkish geranium scrub massage. Best treatment I’ve ever had. Staff were really professional. Restaurant staff were also great, chef made a point of coming out and chatting with everyone. Food was excellent although the menu was heavy on fried food/ creamy foods and would be improved with a few more light meals aside from sandwiches.

First visit here for a meal, long overdue but was worth the wait.Had a lovely tasty burger.Staff friendly and great service. Thanks especially to Eve...superstar .

We ate in the restaurant as part of our lodge stay. The restaurant is really beautiful and well presented. We found the staff to be friendly and polite and really enjoyed our evening meal here …. so much so that we ate here 2 evenings in a row and also had breakfast on our final day. The food was absolutely amazing, everything was cooked to perfection. We even got to meet/ speak to the chef as we were waiting to pay - I loved this as I love talking to people who are passionate about what they do and the food they provide. We enjoyed the 241 cocktails between 5-8pm too - yummy! Would definitely recommend and hope to be back soon!

Lovely breakfast and lunch, great service and good prices. Lots of choice. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors. Will visit again!

What a great Experience , Fantastic place and staff . Food was delicious My wife had halloumi to start with it came with a harissa dipping sauce Definitely a sharer . I had the chefs signature Korean Chicken , it was sweet and sticky and crispy batter . Yum Yum chicken is also a winner Spicy sweet and aromatic with herbs Nice touch with the flat bread to soak up all the lovely sauce I had a Sirloin that melted in the mouth crispy onion rings and chunky chips Couldn’t manage a pudding . But have to say the ones that came to the next table looked delicious Definitely worth a visit Great staff Great food Good value

Booked the dome for my daughter’s 16th birthday, I booked on line and put in the notes that it was a birthday also I phoned too and they said they would do something special. We arrived at 6.30 to be met by the staff who were friendly. We ordered drinks then food. The table where we were sat had lots of flys around it maybe the humid weather and the fact there was a pond/outside swimming. The starters arrived which were mushrooms and Halloumi which tasted a little like smelly oil. We did not say anything at that point. The mains came and I had the sirloin steak and the others had the burgers. Where do I start. The steak was cooked medium but the texture was like rubber,the outside was like burnt toast. One of the worst steaks I have had. The chips were dry and tasteless.onion rings and the mushrooms had the same taste of dirty smelly oil. The burgers were also dry and tasteless and overcooked. I sent the steak back and the others did not eat the burger. Nothing was done to make my daughter’s birthday special even when she had a great big balloon next to us. I feel like it was a real let down and completely ruined a birthday. I did complain to the manager and she did apologise and took some of the food off the bill. To be completely honest the only thing I would have paid for were the drinks. I definitely will not be returning to the Dome.

We live locally and decided to give it a try for Sunday lunch, so glad we did, all lunches were excellent, delicious home cooked food & plenty of it. In this climate it's good to get value for money & we certainly did. Lovely environment, restaurant wasn't busy but had a nice ambience about it, staff were all polite and friendly, overall a great experience, had a look around the site on way out and looks fabulous. We will certainly be returning & would certainly recommend to anyone to give it a try, great addition to the local area.

Went for Mother’s Day Lunch. It was Fantastic, very busy, staff were very professional and friendly. Food great, one of the best roasts I’ve had in ages and the complimentary strawberry Bellini was a lovely touch and delicious. I love this place and amazing to see it so busy!

We went to The Dome for a birthday celebration lunch and spa. Everything was to a very high standard, the spa was lovely as we're the staff but what let it down badly was the food in the restaurant, it just did not come up to the standard of everything else. Two of us had fish, the batter was quarter of an inch thick all over, more batter than fish, crispy on the outside, soggy in the middle, my salad was mainly mixed leaves, stems of the lettuce were brown, my partner who is gluten free had a sandwich which was 2 pieces of gluten free bread about 4" square which was dry and hard. Two had caesar salad which was in a small bowl, 4 lettuce leaves at the bottom covered with 4 slices of chicken. It was a very disappointing meal. Chips were OK as were the puddings but for a venue of this standard you really would expect quality dining.

Staff were very friendly and helpful but sadly the food was disappointing, anatuer and overpriced. Such a shame as everything else at the Yorkshire Spa Retreat was excellent.

Beautiful setting and the serving staff really top notch but the Sunday lunch was okay, it seemed like pre sliced meat very dry nothing to shout about and as pricey as some really great local places around here and we have plenty in this area! We had a morning of treatments in the spa which were great, I could tell my therapist was really experienced and I would go back again for the spa which I’ve put in a 5 star review for.

Visited with a group of family and friends for an evening meal, the restaurant is a great space and very welcoming with friendly staff. Our food was amazing and everyone enjoyed their meals. I'll definitely be back.

100% forgettable! On arrival there was only 1 other occupied table - so they sat us beside them! They had a dog! Sunday Lunch menu. Salmon & Prawn starters. Came fairly quickly. No effort with the presentation. A layer of lettuce with the prawns on top in a very watered down cocktail sauce. Covered then with strips of salmon and that was it. No garnish, no nothing and to be honest, nothing special in terms of flavours. A 5 year old could have done better! A long wait for the Main course which was Pork for myself and Beef for my friend. The only hot item on both plates were the roast potatoes. The rest of the items were virtually cold. Add to this no utensils to serve up the veg and none of the salt cellars working, it was a pretty disastrous event all round. Furthermore, none of the staff seemed to care even when I complained at the till. It was a nightmare! I frequented this restaurant last year in it's infancy and I can say it was far better then. The food was magnificent and the staff ensured you were looked after. Obviously changes have been made but definitely not for the better.

Excellent Sunday lunch. We started with a prawn & salmon cocktail, hubby had Brie. So much salmon delicious. The roast pork dinner was amazing, the roast potatoes were so crispy but light and fluffy on the inside. Lots of lovely cooked veggies. We managed a sticky toffee pudding to share, which again was delicious. Well priced. 10 out of 10. We’ll definitely come back.

Read about this place on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. Staff were polite and friendly (jackie). Food was very good. Cheese bread was yummy. Surroundings were amazing. Toilets were spotless.

Booked for Saturday lunch. Lovely modern and spacious restaurant overlooking the spa. Gorgeous setting. Fab outdoor eating area but was raining so not able to use. Good choice on main menu as well as sandwiches available. Drinks were a bit pricey. Only one other couple eating so very quiet. Food was good and good sized portions. Nice to see what the spa looked like think you would need a nice day to enjoy spa as it rained and didn't seem to be much under cover apart from the eating area and saunas. But looked impressive. On exit the road takes you round by the lodges which looked lovely but quite open. Would definitely visit restaurant again. But just watch as they automatically add 10% service charge on which we prefer to deduct and leave a tip of our choice which we did. Also on paying was told card payments only. Never saw this beforehand and wasn't informed on arrival luckily had our cards with us.

Food and service and ambience very good, indeed excellent. If visiting to dine rather than dining as a resident, the parking area appears limited and not that obvious, the signage is too discreet but don’t worry, the very helpful staff will look after you. Definitely worth a visit.

We stayed on site at The Spa and used the restaurant for lunch and dinners. Fantastic staff, knowledgeable, helpful, cheerful, attentive. Excellent Sunday lunch, although be careful, the portions are huge. Lunch was very good, we had an excellent mini burger with skinny fries. Good wine list. Steak night was very good, steak cooked perfectly, although the fat chips were soggy. Lovely salads. Ambience of restaurant was great even when not full. Lovely decor and clean. Outside eating space overlooking the ponds.

Awful service was appalling brought my husband the wrong order. Had to eat mine so it didn’t get cold long wait for my husband’s order to arrive. We had cocktails and they apologised for the wait and said the cocktails would be taken off the bill as a goodwill gesture. But when we paid the bill which was astronomical for what we had they hadn’t taken them off. Need a a look at this restaurant. The stay at the lodge was amazing. But wouldn’t recommend the Dome restaurant. They need to get their act together

Brilliant food, brilliant service, brilliant atmosphere. We came as a family of four for Sunday Lunch and the food was absolutely delicious. We had three lamb and one beef. The meat was perfectly cooked, melted in your mouth - as was everything else on the plate. Great portions sizes too. It is one of the best Sunday Lunch’s we’ve ever had. We’ve also been for an evening meal here too and the food was just as delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and holds a great atmosphere with a lovely new relaxing outside area, perfect for the nice weather. Staff are brilliant, so friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend to anyone!

A wonderful day watching the coronation today with a brilliant sharing platter for two. Each element was cooked perfectly, the service was impeccable and the welcome was warm and very friendly. A faultless lunchtime watching the largest TV screen I’ve ever seen.

Went to the Dome for Sunday lunch with family as well as extended family and all had an incredible meal. The service was fantastic also. We will be returning!
